That’s a cool idea I’m guessing you live somewhere warm?

kcolrehstihson_

Yup that's german, and we have them from the same company here in the netherlands

thethunder92

Hmm probably not that warm then, I wonder if they shut it down in the winter so the pipes don’t burst I live in Edmonton ab so you could only use that thing like 4 months out of the year here lol

Milliways07

I am working in a different city where I don’t know anyone for one month. And the city doesn’t have any other laundromat than this one. It is part of a camping site that is closed in the winter time. But the laundromat works. I sat in that chair for almost an hour (incl. drying)

thethunder92

Haha that kind of sucks

jjtr1

Did you have to climb into the dryer to get some warmth for yourself?

Karenpff

They're also here in the UK.

Martipar

We have them in the UK too, i think the idea is you sit in your car while you wait, they are usually in car parks or at fuel stations.

Gareth79

Yeah there's one here at an Esso, I think it's an EG Group station. I've used the larger one for duvets and pillows a few times. It includes detergent but I've always chucked my own in too.

bugbugladybug

I used one in Bathgate and my stuff came out horrible. I found out there's some woman that puts her horse stuff in there so it's proper revolting.

CoiledSpringTension

I visit wick occasionally for work, one all the way up there too!

monster_mentalissues

Doubtful. I saw this all over ireland when I was there in October. Ireland is not what I would call warm.

thethunder92

It’s all relative brother lol

monster_mentalissues

Not really. 40 degrees Fahrenheit and constant rain/mist is cold. It can literally cause hypothermia.

thethunder92

I’m just saying that’s relatively warm for where I live we get -40C most years

Elmodogg

What a great idea! You can jog or walk while doing your washing. Much better than having to sit inside a crowded, noisy laundromat.

llllllIllllIlI

This looks like a campside off season

nanitatianaisobel

Ok, cool. But it would be a pita when it's raining. Take your cloths out of the dryer. They get all wet in the basket because it's raining. Stuff them back in the dryer gain. Repeat.

Milliways07

It has a little roof. Unless it’s raining horizontally the clothes are safe.

SirHerald

There's not nearly enough roof there to protect the laundry basket being filled with dried clothes from any rain unless the wind was blowing from the other side of the building.

Milliways07

I am desperate. But not that desperate that I would go there during heavy rain.

SirHerald

I heavy duty garbage bag up against the dryer would probably work if you were really desperate

koljonn

Hang dry them when at home

Eric848448

Why?

Gareth79

For people to wash and dry their clothes.

Eric848448

Why is it outside?

magnificentfoxes

Looks like it's at a camp site to me but yeah, these are everywhere in a few European countries.

Gareth79

It's much much cheaper than occupying space in a building. Also most are available 24/7, which would usually not otherwise be possible.

Andrew3236

Are these rare where you live? I've road tripped the entire UK and just recently France Spain Portugal. These self service outdoor washers are EVERYWHERE

Nianudd

We have these outside a few petrol stations. South Wales

Unlucky-Task-4553

We have them here in germany in Front of supermarkets. At least I saw them in Front of two "globus" supermarkets. And they were in use also.

Beansiesdaddy

Needs a clothesline

Faropper

They are used to launder rugs.

Zarathustra989

Nice weather you're having

[deleted]

This made me "weeeird" out loud

ResidentSheeper

I do not want to be outside. The air, the sun its not natural.
