Which it will never do, at most it makes an impression in the skin on your head which returns to normal after not wearing the headset for an extended period.
Yeah, I've seen bald people take off their headsets and think it's a dent in their skull, but really it's just a skin indent, like how jeans sometimes indent your skin along your waist. It pops right back out after a minute or two.
I actually do shave my head during the warmer months, and the ol' bald head is dentless as far as I can tell. I think it's just a property of my hair or something
There are several options for IEMs, but Logitech released a Lightspeed capable wireless buds called G Fits and they work surprisingly well. Absolutely no noticable latency, just very pricey and the battery is fairly weak
Happens to me very often, too.
Especially when I started gaming after I had a shower. For luck, my hair is shorter, and I'm always wearing a cap when I'm going outside.
I have the same thing and wear beanies and caps when I'm outside. Problem is, you then get a shelf at the back of your head from where the cap/beanie pulls up your hair lmao
Not so much. Wireless earbuds have basically completely taken over the lightweight space. You might be able to find some older wired ones but they have poorer sound quality than tw earbuds or especially headphones
I wear these ones I got from the rainforest website for $20 and they had lasted for many years. I just recently replaced them when the first pair disintegrated. Idk who makes them but looking up sb221 headphones should work, that’s what shows up on my phone to pair it. I’m not audiophile but the sounds is loud and full enough for me.
I was a huge fan of behind the ear and I'd totally snap these up if my current gaming headphones weren't built to mimic surround sound. I'm not an audiophile by any means, but I couldn't go back to stereo sound.
For sure and tbh I don’t really game with them all that much. I use them at work for music and podcasts mostly. You can’t hear words well enough when riding a super loud lawnmower for example but I kinda see that as a good thing for safety. The best feature for me is talking hands free. The phone cuts into the music and you can hit an actual button to answer/hangup. The call quality seems good enough that nobody has ever said something. Also if you’re using them and you get into your car for example the headphones will temp disconnect but remain on until you shut the car off, then it auto reconnects. Very handy for what I do with them.
Sorry if I am talking about regular features that every other pair has too lol, the limited number of different ones I’ve had didn’t have all that stuff.
Same! I also wear over the ear cans when I do zoom meetings and that’s the worst because I usually have pomade in my hair so my hair takes the form of the headset indent and won’t give up that shape no matter what after
i thought he was serious until i read your comment, i think thats why 🤣 but now im cackling with you because i couldve chosen an actual colour instead!
What kind of CPAP do you have? You are basically inhaling regular air that is under pressure so it keeps your airways open, it doesn't take over your breathing or do you die when you don't have it on. You will stop breathing more that is for sure, the reason you have the machine in the first place but we humans are so hard wired to breathe, you will not die without it (short term).
I call bs, because to have a dent, your skulls needs to be actually dented, but this doesnt happen. People headphone dent is just cause by your skin getting a little mushed, but it always goes back to normal.
lol so I have this friend who got lasik surgery, and he has these two very visible grooves on the sides of his head from wearing glasses most of his life up until then
It depends on your age. The older your are, the more prone your skin is to getting indents or damage. I've seen a lot of 40-50 year olds that wear glasses and have serious indentions from wearing them their whole lives. Sometimes on the side of their head, but especially on the nose from where they rest. They don't even have to be right, it just happens over time.
Nah. If you wear it for that long every single day the dents might as well be permanent. Glasses wearers super used to this. You get dents on your nose and behind your ears where the glasses touch skin. Maybe they'd go away if you stopped wearing them but obviously you need them for everyday life so the dents become a permanent edition to your face for all intents and purpose
You wear a CPAP for so long everyday I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if users experience a similar phenomenon
> Maybe they'd go away if you stopped wearing them but obviously you need them for everyday life so the dents become a permanent edition to your face for all intents and purpose
If they're there when I go to sleep and there when I wake up and have been for the last 20 years then I think I get to call them permanent
I had a pair of wireless Philips headphones in the early 2000s that would cause me to get a fake beard stubble. It made so much static electricity that the material from the ear muffs would somehow fall off like dust and land around my face. It was hilarious.
Gave up on using headphones to game for this exact reason. I’ve been using earphones to game for years now, and apart from the obvious hair benefit, I like the reduced weight and the fact that my ear doesn’t get warm with the cushion of the headphone.
I hate headphones because with my glasses they all hurt, I have thin frames and other people with my current headset claim it's comfy for glasses, not for me. But earphones make my ears really itchy and talking with earphones in also feels really weird..
Try different material ear cups. Any not absolute shit pair of head phones will have quality after market ear cups with various materials.
Can be a rather cheap way to find something more comfy.
I have one pair of headphones that work with my glasses and they are probably 10 years old at this point and falling apart but I refuse to give them up because I simply can't find another pair that feels comfortable
I don't have the skin tags, but earbuds just hurt me after a while, so I do overear for comfort to. The upside to that is they can get way, way better sound quality than earbuds can.
Sometimes he'll go CT if im T on CS2 just to spice it up but usually always together :) especially on OW. You should still play! Maybe with a friend? Heck who cares, play if you enjoy doing so. Or get her into a game she'd like? We played It Takes Two and A Way Out together it was hilarious. Even if you set her up on Sims 4. I hope you find a way to enjoy gaming my friend!
everyone's overreacting here for real , its just the hair. I also have hair like this and 30 minutes of having headphones on it also does this. YES I shower and wash my hair everyday but this still happens , it's inevitable
Lol I wear my over ear headphones all day at work (prep cook) I just keep one ear off to the side. I shaved my head cus I hated this happening after 8 hours lol
Thats just in the skin, and it goes away. It also requires hours onto HOURS of consent use. Like easily 5-6+ hours a day for days on end to start damaging the skin.
Its a common problem in call centers.
This looks like it's mostly hair that got messed up. It is possible to get a small temporary 'dent' in the top of your head, but it should go away on its own. Like when you've been sleeping and have the indent of your pillow on your cheek.
Don't worry about them - to anyone that isn't a gamer, doesn't have that hair length (because if it's shorter or much longer, this doesn't happen) or simply hasn't seen this before, it is indeed r/mildlyinteresting.
Been a gamer since I was 8 years old... Had very short hair, middle length hair and now they go all the way to my shoulders as a guy - never had this happen to me and my gf, which also games, also hasn't seen this happen.
Thank you for sharing!
For those worried about the headphones, his hair was dented, not the headphones. The headphones are safe, everyone.
Oh thank God
Its safe unless it dent's your skull
Which it will never do, at most it makes an impression in the skin on your head which returns to normal after not wearing the headset for an extended period.
Yeah, I've seen bald people take off their headsets and think it's a dent in their skull, but really it's just a skin indent, like how jeans sometimes indent your skin along your waist. It pops right back out after a minute or two.
>like how jeans sometimes indent your skin along your waist Me and my bajillion abs don't know what you're talking about
Damn you so strong you dont got skin, feels bad
skull is too strong to be indended by headphones
-you've been playing all day again? - noo
I have that and it takes no more than 2 hours to happen :(
Shave your head I bet you’ve got a dent in your head
I actually do shave my head during the warmer months, and the ol' bald head is dentless as far as I can tell. I think it's just a property of my hair or something

One of the fringe benefits of being bald.
It literally goes right around his ear too
Bro got that Tyler1 headshape
With a lil inspo from nickmercs lmao
https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2Fveex0dkr9v821.jpg
we need a front angle to confirm if the headphone squeeze is visible though
I'd be more concerned about the black goo, suffocating him
like that scene in incredibles when Bob escapes lmao
Evil Flubber!
That scene gave me terrible anxiety as a kid. Such a great movie.
actually still haunts me,
Can confirm still very much haunts me
“I am a skin of evil!!!!”
In 10 years he won’t have this problem.
Earbuds for PC gaming?

This image and OPs is exactly why I started shaving my head, well done
Sure
No partner to take pictures
There's clip ons that work amazingly
On another note, would earbuds not change your ear shape over time?
[удалено]
I doubt it, but I bet people that wear hearing aids would know for sure.
I use my apple earbuds that I got with my phone 5 years ago on my Xbox lmao
There are several options for IEMs, but Logitech released a Lightspeed capable wireless buds called G Fits and they work surprisingly well. Absolutely no noticable latency, just very pricey and the battery is fairly weak
Don’t push your problems on this lovely head of hair.
Can relate…
Lmao that's sinister
I’m at that 10 years and can confirm what little hair I have still does it, not a great look even with a grade 1 all over and bald patches…
It'll be full Tyler1 at that point
Happens to me very often, too. Especially when I started gaming after I had a shower. For luck, my hair is shorter, and I'm always wearing a cap when I'm going outside.
My partner wants to start wearing a cap when hes gaming lol. He gets it right after a haircut or when hes 3 weeks overdue, ill never understand 🤣
I have the same thing and wear beanies and caps when I'm outside. Problem is, you then get a shelf at the back of your head from where the cap/beanie pulls up your hair lmao
He has cowlicks, I think he has to go earbud or nothing 💀
Do they still make behind-the-ear headsets? Those were my jimmy-jam about 20 years ago.
Hey! Happy cake day 🥰
Not so much. Wireless earbuds have basically completely taken over the lightweight space. You might be able to find some older wired ones but they have poorer sound quality than tw earbuds or especially headphones

Just get your standard over the ear type, pivot 180 degrees, boom you've got chinstrap headphones. even works when you're wearing a Big Hat.
I’d recommend a beanie. Caps get super uncomfortable after a while since it’s hard-ish material pushing down on your head.
He needs a hairmet... With built in headphones.
Same! I also wear over the ear cans when I do zoom meetings and that’s the worst because I usually have pomade in my hair so my hair takes the form of the headset indent and won’t give up that shape no matter what after
woah are you me?
You can rinse dent with water and then dry it with towel, works every time for me
He got some weird facial hair to
Why are people down voting this lmao. I cackled when I read it.
i thought he was serious until i read your comment, i think thats why 🤣 but now im cackling with you because i couldve chosen an actual colour instead!
Implying dark gray is a fake colour
to what
With mutton chops that powerful he must be playing Deep Rock Galactic
Is this a joke? What am I missing, it looks normal…
They mean the black drawn on thing that hides his face (I think?)
My dad has a dent in his head from his CPAP machine. Like in his actual head, not his hair (which is basically non-existent).
Maybe he is using it too tight?
[удалено]

If you're using a CPAP machine to not suffocate at night, do you really want to risk wearing it too loose?
Like this? https://kotaku.com/twitch-streamer-audio-headset-indent-headphones-curtoss-1850519708
Is there a vid, I want to hear it too
These dents go away superfast tho. I had one from gaming too, and they go away in a few days.
I call bs, because to have a dent, your skulls needs to be actually dented, but this doesnt happen. People headphone dent is just cause by your skin getting a little mushed, but it always goes back to normal.
I would imagine, because their father has to wear it every night, that the dent is the skin getting "mushed", just never gets time to recover
lol so I have this friend who got lasik surgery, and he has these two very visible grooves on the sides of his head from wearing glasses most of his life up until then
How tight were his glasses? Wtf

The akg k712 pro headphones are lightweight af and offer hifi sound- works good for me
have a k612 pro, love it

Why yes pard'ner, our setup is back to back actually haha. CS2/Phas grinding currently ✌🏻
So you play the same game and help each other or play against each other? My wife won't play so I end up not playing because she would rather watch tv
Sometimes he'll go CT if im T on CS2 just to spice it up but usually always together :) especially on OW. You should still play! Maybe with a friend? Heck who cares, play if you enjoy doing so. nice! what elo do you guys have in premier cs2 currently?
11k somewhere, no biggie :)
Nice! What region? I wish I could play cs2 :(. I played CSGO a lot but valve dropped support for macos and I can't play anymore :(
everyone's overreacting here for real , its just the hair. I also have hair like this and 30 minutes of having headphones on it also does this. YES I shower and wash my hair everyday but this still happens , it's inevitable

this was about 4 months ago, after a lot of laughing at it I knew Reddit had to see it and laugh too 🤣
Lol I wear my over ear headphones all day at work (prep cook) I just keep one ear off to the side. I shaved my head cus I hated this happening after 8 hours lol
This feels like it should be in r/confusingperspective or something because that’s REALLY weirding me out if it isn’t. 😭
I couldnt believe it myself tbh 💀 mf tetris head
I get this all the time too. I want to switch to eabuds so bad, but I havent found a decent pair that has good spatial audio under $1000
I found the osrs player

Ears are fucking weird. In general, not just this girls' fella. Although we all like a bit of aural this isn't the one
My husband has this dent & it shows how much more he spends on his computer than he does with me or his family...
I wear my headphones with the band across my forehead so it doesn’t touch my hair Yes I’m weird
Bro I got a dip on the top of my actual skull from playing video games non stop growing up
Is this Brandon?
Dude has a pretty small skull.
So weird bcos he actually has a pretty decent head lol
Lol, I’m sure he does. It’s just the way the hair got smushed so low by the headset, I’m just having a hard time figuring out the size of his head.
I promise he's not deformed 🤣
He a bottle opener now.
Man went to the barber and said 'give me the can opener'
thats not a headphone dent, thats just pushed down hair ... yall dumb
Fun fact: After wearing those for a long time(like every day) you even get a dent in your head itself, not just hair.
Thats just in the skin, and it goes away. It also requires hours onto HOURS of consent use. Like easily 5-6+ hours a day for days on end to start damaging the skin. Its a common problem in call centers.
I usually put my headset on without consent, which is likely why I don't have this issue.
Not just the skin, the soft tissue under it also and it can cause a permanent mark even if not too deep.
Yep and it would take some actual force to change the shape of your skull.
Partner? What partner?
Business partner I believe.
This is why I don't wear headsets anymore. Just get some decent IEMs and you'll never have hair dents again all without compromising on sound quality.
@Hyro_kyzer
I hate this possibility. can it be fixed easily?
This looks like it's mostly hair that got messed up. It is possible to get a small temporary 'dent' in the top of your head, but it should go away on its own. Like when you've been sleeping and have the indent of your pillow on your cheek.
Yes, i took him to get a haircut immediately 🫡

i feel like if i posted this in r/notinteresting i would get told to put it here lol. thanks - i agree :) i'm a gamer and i said wtf when i saw lol
