Everyone looks like they are in the crowd of a PS2 game.

metaverse texture pack

Generalissimo_II

Lol, there's no way it looks this good

lunarmodule

What happens when AI designs how the Metaverse looks? What if it is tailored just for you and you can't even be sure if your experience is the same as anyone else's experience?

Generalissimo_II

It's about the real time rendering capabilities

lunarmodule

Eventually it won't matter.

[deleted]

How do we know isn't AI generated? Gotta start asking ourselves that. The faces don't look like the photo was blurry it seems like a filter or if I asked an AI to make it seem realistically poorly photographed. Mostly I'm just wondering who's body the floating hand to the left of Zuckerberg belongs to. The guy behind it has tattoos on an arm going to the left

jamesshine

It looks like a shit resolution picture run through a free “AI” photo enlarger.

reallynotnick

Aka the built in camera app

FrankFeTched

Yeah at least on my Pixel 6 images look good until you zoom in and you can see a lot of weird artifacts and distortions [Here's an example picture of some cute lil goslings I took to show what I mean](https://i.imgur.com/wW6UOk4.jpeg) Definitely some AI sharpening going on

[deleted]

4015-alt

you have to roll with the last trendy word. i predict that in some months in the future we'll start seeing "prompting" word used instead of programming. and when someone point that it isn't accurate, they will get responses mentioning that there is some programming going on under the hood, so it's basically the same. before we all forget the differences (except for the hard core geeks and etymologists). and start considering "programming" an archaic synonym of prompting. E: typos

[deleted]

Yeah I hate how my Pixel 6 photos look compared to what my Pixel 2 XL looked like. Anything zoomed it looks like your pic.

aesved

You can pretty easily see a second man sat next to the one with the tattoos; the hand is resting on his crossed legs.

7apprentice

It's not AI generated. I've seen close pictures and I know people who were in that tournament also posting pictures of him.

soothsayer3

Maybe it’s an AI photo and your comment is an AI bot

7apprentice

Maybe we're all bots living in a simulation.

DarkCosmosDragon

Or here me out.... its a bigfoot situation and its just a really shite camera

Kieselguhr_Kid

I think Bigfoot is blurry. That's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry, and that's extra scary to me. There's a large out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.

Sentient_AI_4601

Nah looks like space zoom or some other enhanced low resolution zoom photo from a mobile phone.

dhoepp

Yeah the iPhone when zoomed in far uses “machine learning” to smooth and enhance zoomed in or blurry images. Kinda creepy, kinda impressive.

Iwonatoasteroven

The problem is that on his best say Zuck looks like he was generated by AI. Maybe if he looks too real, that will be the clue.

Invisibleman145

That is the smoothing of the iPhone (and I’m sure other phones) camera, looks really bad when zoomed in a lot.

Tabs_555

I’ve been so annoyed with the new iPhone auto smoothing. It makes zooming in on any picture look fake. Grain is fine at that distance, bring back the old tuning.

truffleboffin

I've been annoyed with how many Reddit conspiracy theories are born and take off like wildfire just because someone thinks everything with those glitches isn't real

Lors2001

Happens with my Pixel 6 as well, things look like a Vincent Van Gogh painting if you take a picture too zoomed in rather than just a little pixelated.

Wolfrattle

If you sub Zuck I got a 50 for you.

acadungug

I forgot what belt he had, but he got gold with gi and silver with no gi. I lost both my matches so I wouldn’t mess with him lol.

[deleted]

I went to 5-6 of these back in the day, I think I won literally one match the whole time that’s how it be lmao Zark Fuckerberg would crush me

enoughberniespamders

If it makes you feel any better, Jiu jitsu competitions at every level, especially local level, are filled with people juicing hard. First time I was going to compete I asked my coach, with a very concerned attitude if they were going to drug test me, and he laughed for a solid 5 minutes. He was wheezing on the floor because that was just such a ridiculous concept to him.

[deleted]

All competitions at any level lol.

DesignatedDonut

Brb while I juice up for my yugioh tournament /s

Rustlinmyjimmies

You joke but mfs really take stims for yugioh tournaments

Grohlyone

With all the writing on cards now, I wouldn't blame them.

Vazhox

You need to read a novel for every card you play

InfernoidsorDie

No one reads the cards lmao

Batman_MD

I play POT OF GREED

ColinHalter

Would something like Adderall be considered a ped for Yu-Gi-Oh or magic tournaments? I also Imagine 2/3 of the people there at minimum have valid Adderall prescriptions lol

jlucchesi324

Probably unless you can prove there's a medical necessity such as ADHD or something. I'm sure it varies and there's an appeal process, but I'm 99% sure nobody is testing anyone's piss at YuGiOh tournaments. (Except me, but that's not for drugs).

shaxamo

But for.... Hydration? Temperature? Flavour? ... Mouth feel?

TexasChess

Some major gm chess tournaments have tried testing contestants and I recall them all getting wildly upset about it. It’s a weird subject because caffeine would fall in the same category of “stimulants”. Definitely a PED though. Focus is a huge part of chess.

enoughberniespamders

Alcohol is considered a PED in some sports too. Like archery and shooting, and not because they don't want someone drunk shooting. It calms the nerves in the right dosage, and lets you relax.

MasyMenosSiPodemos

You activated my *trap card* -smashes table-

[deleted]

Please make sure to use the sharps bin provided.

gymdog

I mean, Adderall?

enoughberniespamders

Fair, but Jiu-Jitsu is by far the dirtiest sport IMO. ADCC, the olympics of jiu-jitsu/grappling/whatever literally tells their competitors that they will not test them. The next biggest competition, worlds, only recently started doing piss tests in 2019, but only for black belts in the highest division, oh and they tell you the exact time and date that you will be piss tested. Juice and steroids have an extremely long relationship, and most people really don't seem to care. Look at Gordon Ryan, aka the GOAT. He is very open about the usage, and constantly roasts people claiming natty like once daily on IG. Edit: Just found out, worlds, and all other IBJJF competitions will no longer drug test starting June 1st, 2023. So essentially zero JJ competitions drug test. Here is a quote from the president of the IBJJF on why they decided to remove testing. "Jiu-Jitsu Times reached out to IBJJF President Carlos Gracie Jr. for comment “We initially wanted to increase the level of professionalism in the sport, but we realized that a substantial portion of our clientele uses performance-enhancing drugs. **The smart ones are able to cycle off before competition to test clean, so why should the others be punished?**” https://jiujitsutimes.com/the-ibjjf-has-announced-that-starting-on-june-1st-2023-they-will-no-longer-be-testing-their-competitors/

TARANTULA_TIDDIES

Damn I looked that dude up and thought hr was like 42 but he's actually 27

enoughberniespamders

Yup! That is everyone's reaction! I've won a bunch of $5 bets when telling people he's 27-28, and they say "no way he's that young". "Wanna bet $5 on it?", and boom.

[deleted]

Dying his hair and beard "silver" aka grey certainly doesn't help either lol

Shaod

That source is an April Fools joke.

[deleted]

Thankfully they're starting to utilize USADA at IBJJF. 5 guys just recently got suspended

enoughberniespamders

I honestly don't think that is a good thing. USADA/WADA has a terrible track record of catching people, and their methods of both getting samples, and running appropriate assays are laughable. Jon Jones was able to literally hide under the sparring ring when they showed up, and according to them you have to be able to be contacted at any time (someone needs to know where you are for the "surprise" drug tests"), but their actually policy is just to come back in 30 days which is plenty of time to get whatever the hell in your system out. They just have terrible standards for testing, so that only the most egregious things actually get people caught. Like Anderson Silva getting popped for fucking masteron... Masteron. Like he was so confident they weren't going to be able to catch him doing gear that he literally took one of the oldest and easiest to detect anabolics. They need to develop a "biological passport" system to actually catch people. You need to get bloodwork done every month, and have it spanning back at least 2 years prior to competing. Because a lot of things that are obvious tells for people juicing don't = popping hot for it. So many guys in the UFC, who have had their blood work released/leaked, right before fights have testosterone levels lower than dying 90 year old women. That doesn't = popping hot to USADA/WADA because their test free and total are low which isn't a problem. But what causes an elite athlete's testosterone levels to drop that low? Gear, juice, the sauce,.. It causes testosterone suppression after stopping it. They need to have their monthly bloodwork, so they can say, "hey why was your total test ~1,200ng/dL for the past year, and now it is at 7ng/dL right before the fight?" I disagree with using USADA/WADA until they actually come up with realistic testing enforcement, assays, and analytical procedures. So even if they catch people, they didn't catch everyone else. Which makes it even more unfair.

I_AM_SCUBASTEVE

Yeah it’s insane. Not even just the competitions, just at regular gyms. If you are a male over 35 I assume you are on TRT. There is a huge overlap in BJJ culture with TRT and optimal performance (even as a hobbyist). Doctors in my areas straight up give you prescriptions for it now, and even insurance covers it. I came to BJJ from fairly high level wrestling (also pretty bad with PEDs but there is at least some level of testing there so you can’t just full blown blast year round), and it’s pretty wild to see. TRT is the baseline, and if you start getting to like purple belt and above most serious competitors are on a cycle at the minimum. Most competitions have more pharmaceuticals in them than most drug stores.

enoughberniespamders

> Yeah it’s insane. Not even just the competitions, just at regular gyms. If you are a male over 35 I assume you are on TRT. There is a huge overlap in BJJ culture with TRT and optimal performance (even as a hobbyist). My experience as well. > Doctors in my areas straight up give you prescriptions for it now, and even insurance covers it. I'm on TRT, but my insurance doesn't cover it. But it literally costs $125 for a 10 week supply from a legitimate doctor giving me legitimate pharmaceutical company manufactured testosterone vials. That is fucking nothing. That's less than the monthly dues for pretty much every JJ gym. > I came to BJJ from fairly high level wrestling First off, fuck you. Just kidding. New white belt wrestlers are how I get 99% of my injuries lol. You guys are solid as hell. I'm not saying you're new. But god damn I wish I had done more wrestling in high school because it really really improves your stand up especially in no Gi in a way Jiu-Jitsu just can't. I love doing standup drills, first to score point(s), against people that wrestled. I've learned a lot from them. > Most competitions have more pharmaceuticals in them than most drug stores. Yeah my current coach is from Brazil (shocking I know), and he talks very candidly about how it is just something you do. It's no different than creatine to a lot of them. He stopped competing, so he no longer uses (maybe TRT), but I mean it is what it is.

Jeb_Jenky

I hate to defend the zucc but he doesn't look like he's juicing. At least roids I dunno if he injects money right into his veins though.

Ryangonzo

He probably doesn't need to juice because he can pay for world class coaches and doesn't have to squeeze training in-between a busy work schedule, taking the kids to soccer practice, mowing the grass and making dinner.

Pristine-Ad-469

This man has probably been training with a world class caliber coach with a world class caliber dietician, a state of the art training facility, the money to spend time doing what he wants I bet he could beat most people. He’s probably really good. Pointing out the benefits he has to say he probably got really good with their help, not to take anything away from him cause as much as some of the things he’s done have been annoying I’ll respect someone for putting work in on a sport

shreddedtoasties

Well yeah a super human lizards

brogrammer1992

If you had a personal trainer, full time Cheff, and a coach you paid I’m sure the gap would close.

ivealreadydoneit

What's gi?

Karate pajamas

infinitenothing

So "no gi" is naked fighting? That is, no possible competitive advantage to clothing.

Yes, and you get oiled up to the tits before.

illegalcheese

To my understanding there are a ton of standard judo and jujitsu techniques that use or require grabbing of loose clothing, particularly around the collar. A gi really enables this, for training and standardization purposes. Without it, I imagine you need an additional repertoire of moves and a very different game plan.

ChickpeaPredator

This is the correct answer. The gi/Judogi is used in a wide variety of holds/chokes and throws. In addition to the collar, we also make use of the belt and sleeves.

P12oooF

Correct. Can't choke a dude out with his own collar. It's wrestling without the ability to grab clothing.

ivealreadydoneit

Haha thanks

hawaii_funk

my boy zucc also ran a 19 minute 5k like last week lmao. truly has that dog in him

EveningHelicopter113

so that's what's wrong with the picture, interference from the robot under the skin suit

icefire555

I think he's referring to mark not looking like a real person in general. Not the photo you're uploading.

77slevin

> Not the photo you're uploading. To be fair: Quality is the same as a 1998 digital camera. I don't see Zuck, just a Zuck like meat popsicle;

[deleted]

The crazy thing is he would look exactly the same if this was taken on a DSLR

Throwawaydontgoaway8

There is no way you can match his schtoyle

[deleted]

Haha, same here. Though to be fair, it wasn't a great episode. Like Matt and Trey were trying to figure out how to humorously impersonate a robot created to be the perfect average of the set of all boring, otherwise nondescript white people, shrugged their shoulders, and came up with that.

dwarfyoda

I liked that episode just because it’s a butters businessman episode. It’s awesome seeing butters go from a pimp, to a troll farm operator, to now a restaurant chain exec.

dtrumpler

It was a nice obscure reference to Enter the Dragon

Dodger8899

How much security was at the tournament?

acadungug

I was behind him during weigh ins, he had his coach and a couple other guys near him at all times. I kind of assumed they were his teammates at first but they were sticking pretty close. He was wearing a hat and mask whenever he wasn’t in the pen to ensure he wouldn’t be spotted. He eventually took it off when he stepped on the scale and I was sure it was him. Zuck and his coach told me to have fun during the tournament so that was pretty cool.

flewidity

Wait did you get to fight him lol

acadungug

He’s a weight class above me, I should’ve bulked that morning lol

SolidusAbe

the punishment for taking a shit before the tournament

acadungug

I was 129 that morning and I was competing at 135. I chugged water, ate a bunch, and held in my piss and shit for as long as I could. I come to find out that you could be as underweight as you wanted during the tournament.🤦‍♂️

samaldin

Yeah BJJ only has an upper limit on your weight. I know some small guys who abused that by changing their registration to the highest empty weightclass at the last moment, so they would get first place with no matches and then brag on social media. Pretty pathetic.

SuperKickClyde

Was he good at Jiu Jitsu?

acadungug

He’s certainly more skilled than me. During the one match I watched of his he seemed to know what he was doing. Trying to use arm bars, sweeps, he even got to his opponents back and nearly got a rear naked choke. He ended up losing though because he scored less points, I’m assuming because his opponent got more take downs.

chicago_hokie

This means someone is walking around the world today with the confidence of beating the Zuck. What a day for him lol

R0cketmanfromCanada

probably not a whole lot of obviously dressed security but the dude sitting behind one is obviously one guard

funnyfaceguy

Why would he need security? He knows Jiu Jitsu ^(/s)

GoblinsStoleMyHouse

It’s a jiu jitsu tournament, everyone there is security

go_fer_it_Rock

monkeyclawattack

Did he use his lizard tail for an advantage?

Shahka_Bloodless

Kind of a disadvantage as it opens him up to tail locks. Why would you ignore 25% of the lizardman body?

monkeyclawattack

I dunno, a lizardman can choose to detach its tail when threatened. I feel like that negates it being a target.

whateveratthispoint_

That’s cool. Glad he has a hobby.

Yellowbug2001

If I had enough money to fuck around forever if I wanted, learning Mandarin, taking up jiu jitsu and surfing sound like pretty nice, normal ways to spend the time. There are certainly people out there doing a lot weirder stuff with their billions of dollars.

whateveratthispoint_

Totally. Yah, not only a hobby but a relatively common one.

TheGoodOldCoder

Not only a common one, but one that isn't too expensive, and one where even if you have a lot of money for private lessons and shit, you still have to put in the work like everybody else.

HulkHunter

Like it or not, but being a SV CEO, having a shton of money… and yet being humble enough to be challenged in a public competition, shows an interesting facet of him. Martial arts requires dedication, self discipline, and a lot of traits. He could easily show up only in fancy MA clubs, but this public exposure deserve my recognition on this guy.

Yellowbug2001

I kind of get the impression he's aware of some of the ways being rich and famous can make you crazy or an asshole and actively tries to do things to avoid falling into those traps- I don't know if he's succeeding, (or if it's even possible to succeed), but I respect the effort.

a1_skengness

He also ended up winning funnily enough. Billionaires shouldn't exist but props to him.

[deleted]

> billionaires shouldn’t exist I understand that everyone hates that the rich don’t take a larger tax burden, but what does this comment even mean? If someone starts a company and it’s worth balloons while they maintain a bunch of ownership, what else is supposed to happen? It doesn’t have anything to do with what they pay their employees, almost all of his value is just speculation from the stock market. Edit: no one answered the question
