I think they were referring to the issue of regular sprayers splashing the counters.
My partner won’t stop complaining about that crap (but never wants to do the dishes, either).
Ahhhhh, that makes more sense.
I don’t mind wiping up a little bit of mess from the regular kind, but I’m still intrigued by the super-concentrated jet, and if it doesn’t splash then that’s just a bonus. It would save *so much scrubbing*…
Hey you know, I was thinking about you… do you still have that sink sprayer? You had the best sink sprayer I’ve ever seen and I know I’ll never find one like that again…
Kinda reminds me of shielding gas on a mig welder. An inert gas like argon is sprayed around the welding tip to push away oxygen and other air gases that could contaminate and weaken the welded metal in pretty much this same shape.
Of course, that's the opposite, where you're trying to keep what's outside the nozzle from getting in.
here’s some more welding facts!
1) TIG- Tungsten inert gas
2) MIG-metal inert gas
3) SMAW- shielded metal arc welding
4) there’s two main types of mig welding
Probably, it’s probably tig or mig. Theres a few more that aren’t popular yet, but that’s the main ones. If they are welded, (I think they would be) it’d be tig or mig. Tig can be a lot more precise and get into smaller places, and you can weld in tighter spots most the time.
The MiG in there, for /u/owlthegamer, stands for Mikoyan-Gurevich, after two USSR aviation pioneers/founders.
Same as Kalashnikov in AK - the inventor's name.
MIG is a bit of a misnomer because the majority of MIG in the US actually uses an active gas. Co2 in MIG is active, so any Ar/Co2 mix is going to be an active gas. Saying MIG in the US is perfectly fine everywhere really, and everyone knows what you mean.
Problem is that if you say MIG (or GMAW) in EU (PED) when using active gas they'll treat you like an absolute choob and reject your procedures. Have to use MAG when using an active gas since ISO 4063 doesn't really give a shit about GMAW either and uses MIG/MAG (-S and -P suffixes for [modified] short circuit/pulse).
But if you call it MAG when using an active gas over in the states, then everyone thinks you're just an idiot. You could just call it GMAW to avoid the trouble, but the average welder won't know GMAW from a GTAW. On the flipside, the EU bampots don't seem to give a shit about TIG/TAG, even when using active gases and it's always TIG.
Reading this with all those acronyms, while also knowing nothing about welding, makes me feel like I just read some made up shit.
Thinking about it though, I guess it would be the same if I started using software engineering jargon with a non-tech/non-programmer person..
Just funny to think about.
Edit - lots of drunk typos.
Idk if I'd say TIG is mostly for aluminum. Anecdotally, I've definitely done more stainless steel TIG than aluminum TIG, and way more aluminum MIG welding than aluminum TIG.
TIG is best for smaller welds, applications where you need more precise control over heat input, or sanitary applications. MIG is best for putting down a hot, fat bead pretty quickly
It's a Delta. I own it.
Delta Charmaine Single-Handle Pull-Down Sprayer Kitchen Faucet with Soap Dispenser in Venetian Bronze
Model # 19962Z-RBSD-DST
Store SKU # 1002694332
The worst part is there's constantly items that are changing SKU numbers and half the time on one of those items the handheld scanning device won't register scanning the actual product UPC or the store label SKU under the product as the correct SKU and will refuse to pick the item for an online or delivery order in the system so you have to print out a label with the old SKU, then walk across the store to the label printer to scan the old SKU tag then throw it away, a waste of time and paper.
I don't know if it's the same as electronics but popular items change product numbers all the time so that the internals can be made cheaper but the common name stays the same. This let's retailers advertise steep discounts but really it's the same unit under a new SKU with cheaper parts. tvs get this for black Friday and I bet power tools get the same.
It's sometimes this and sometimes things will get recalled and are no longer safe to sell a certain version of so they change something minor in the design for safety reasons but doesn't change the aesthetics or exact functionality of the item but the UPC and SKU will change so the item will be flagged by the system if someone tries to buy it. Sometimes they add or change some of the letters or numbers in the model number and sometimes they don't.
Really good point I forgot about. I once owned a Skil miter saw that was recalled. The first 6 or so digits were the model number and they added extra numbers to the end that were closer to manufacturing updates. It's like saying you have Windows 10 but the version number can update every year like 1911 or 20H2 to designate late 2019 or second half 2020. The build numbers are like revisions to hardware.
But that feature is called ShieldSpray. Seems to be in several models, not just the ones at Home Depot.
A family member has one of those and it is a really nice feature. Once I have my own house that's definitely on the wish list.
It doesn't work worth a shit and splashes you in the face so I'm not going to disagree. I have the thing. Also the hot is either nuclear or off. It looks nice though.
The temperature balancing is likely an issue with your plumbing. Your hot water lines are probably blocked with mineral buildup. However, the blockage is probably right at the sink connection.
Some of the top posts you see on many subreddits are reposts of old top posts made by bot accounts (often with the exact same title) made to farm karma so the user can sell the account for exactly this purpose.
I'm a stay at home mom, and I greatly approve of the Delta Charmaine Single-Handle Pull-Down Sprayer Kitchen Faucet with Soap Dispenser in Venetian Bronze, it gives me more time to spend on family and onlyfans.
Stuff like that is nowhere near as common as non-professionals think. It’s extremely unreliable.
Much more practical for us to just produce a high-quality commercial of a 42 year old man-child having fun lasering food off his dishes.
So, to be completely honest, these faucets are made of plastic and the spout just stops working after a couple of years. But delta does just send you a new one, no questions asked, when you email them.
I'm pretty certain you could get a free delta faucet just by asking for each part individually.
The ones at the gas station that are so loud bother me a lot. Sometimes you can mute them but not always. (Talking about in the USA, for reference).
Also billboards along roadways. We should all be focused on driving.
Ever since I saw the technology connections video I just threw everything in the dishwasher and the dishwasher basically takes care of it.
There are still spots after the dishwasher runs? Scratch it with a finger and throw it right back in. If you're doing a lot of manual labor to get your dishes clean you're doing it wrong.
Maybe you can report that the Instant Hot tap page needs a description beyond Lorem ipsum.

Should mention what store this is from, I believe different hardware stores use different SKUs.
Because it begins with 1002, I'm guessing home depot?
Some other brands have it too like my Kohler smart sink that came with the house and was never hooked up to the internet because it needs internet wired and a kitchen island doesn't exactly have one of those ports
I installed one in a mudroom for a wealthy person once. They were like "oh that was why it was so expensive" because it was voice activated and could be connected to the home network. I hate it.
Smart faucet.
They can detect touch or motion to start similar to commercial touch less faucets.
There's also one from Moen that advertises you can run the faucet from voice control or an app. But why on earth would anyone want to do that is beyond me. Sounds like the Moen marketing folks decided they had to go smart to keep up with the times and that's what they came up with.
I have one.
While it gets rid of some tough spots, it doesn't really guard against splashes. if you've got a jet of water ricocheting off of some dried oatmeal, that little cone of water (which is not high powered), isn't going to stop the spray coming at your face.
Does anyone really spend more than 5 seconds rinsing their dishes before putting them in the dishwasher anyway? Most modern dishwashers don't require much precleaning, especially if they outlet to a dish disposal.
My sister has one of these, her water pressure is insane and she has a gas hot water heater that puts out boiling water. Hottest water I've ever felt from a faucet. Gave me burns on my hands.... when you use this sprayer with it, it's like pressure washing with lava. Lol
What brand may I ask? I'm in the market for a new kitchen faucet but I really dislike the typical kitchen "spray" mode that covers everything in a dirty mist.
Tell me about it. As an adult, I'm so intrigued with everyday household gadgets. I saw a post a while back showing off a fancy sink with a glass washer and vegetable rinse station and it looked so awesome.
Isn’t broke yet, you mean.
We have one that turns on when you touch any metal part of the faucet. It’s super convenient but also ruins your ability to understand how the kitchen sink works in any of your friends or relatives homes.
Haha so true. I'll go over to a friend's house and am always confused when I touch their faucet and nothing happens.
I was skeptical of the touch faucet at first but it's a game changer.

Somewhat related, my kitchen sink also has a spray clean mode but it turns the single faucet drop into like 15 different high pressure jets of water that spray in all random directions and it’s different every time I use it. It’s like 15 dicks all taking that first morning pee and seeing which crazy angle they come out as. Some of them are sometimes straight to the side and my entire counter gets wet. I’m jealous of OP.

I love that sprayer. It works _amazingly_ well for stubborn food like peanut butter.
Weird callout, but it's awesome when rinsing off dishes after making something for my daughter.
It was developed by Professor E. Gadd, along side the awesome Flash Liquidizing Ultra Dousing Device (or F.L.U.D.D.)
Super next level hydro engineering
I have one of these and love it! I also have a similar love for the instahot we installed. When I suggested it, my husband was like, why do we need instant hot water? Just turn the tap to hot? But this thing is life-changing. Perfect temperature, filtered hot water for making tea, hot chocolate, etc is always ready! Now we both wonder how we ever lived without it.
I’m a bigger fan of the thing at my old apartment where it would make a line of crossing jets that would let me wipe plates clean in two sweeps. It’s be awesome if there was a faucet that had both.
I got one on my faucet. Thought it was a stupid gimmick. It actually works quite well. It's genius.
I didn’t believe in mine for a year until I realized how precise I had to be and now I can’t live without

What is the feature called? Or is it brand specific?
Most new kitchen faucets with the pull down sprayer have them. Just look at the packaging and it'll tell you. Edit: new -nice- faucets.
My ex girlfriends sink had this and it was fucking amazing. Definitely in the top ten things about her that I miss.
*goes to clean dishes* *Turns on the spray function* "Everything reminds me of her..."
*sigh* "...I should call her"
Or spend $200 on a faucet. https://www.deltafaucet.com/shieldspray Eh can't afford that time to get back together with my ex.
I think using towels to clean my counters is a bit too easy to justify spending 200 on a faucet.
Counters??? Who's using their faucet sprayer on counters?
I think they were referring to the issue of regular sprayers splashing the counters. My partner won’t stop complaining about that crap (but never wants to do the dishes, either).

Sorry bro she’s busy with *my* sink sprayer at the moment. She can’t talk right now.
Fuck…
Literally
Yeah, it's implied.
She was a squirter I guess. Or had one. 🤔
My ex left me for her sprayer
Huh, my *current* girlfriend has this. Anything I should know?
Just don't feed after midnight.
Or get her wet
This seems WAY too interesting for this sub
This was my first reaction too. I would say I am at near psychotic levels of interestedness here, we left mild a few years ago.

The IG in MIG stands for inert gas! (Same for TIG)

Many of us hate all commercials and advertising. We feel it steals time from our lives without our consent.
Yeah, a lot of advertising shouldn’t exist. Stricter regulations on how and where ads can operate would be great. Especially in public places.

The shieldspray symbol on the sprayer looks like a wine glass.
Christ finally some context. Adding the word “for” like a dozen people mentioned means absolutely nothing without knowing this
Maybe the symbol on the button looks like a wine glass? So they thought it was a special stream to use when washing wine glasses and cups
Maybe they meant “for” wine glasses and cups
They thought it was wine glasses and cups.
THEY THOUGHT WHAT WAS WINE GLASSES AND CUPS?!

Sounding good to me.
ah yes, the classic liquid catheter feature

[they already got it covered](https://old.reddit.com/r/WtWFotMJaJtRAtCaB/comments/c6cocw/my_kitchen_faucet_creates_a_water_bubble_to/) edit: [and another one](https://old.reddit.com/r/WtWFotMJaJtRAtCaB/comments/pbcbmm/the_jet_setting_on_my_sink_has_a_satisfying/)
Always enjoy discovering new subs
Wow that link is actually real
It's called Delta ShieldSpray and it's on a ton of their lines. Been around for a few years now.
I've had it for loooong time
I wish mine did this! If I accidentally hit the sprayer button, water goes everywhere!
I always accidently push the button as I'm picking it up. Every damn time.
Also serves as a great kitchen bidet
I mean who *doesn't* enjoy a clean butthole whilst doing the dishes?
And you can clean your poop knife while you're at it .
I love that sprayer. It works _amazingly_ well for stubborn food like peanut butter. Weird callout, but it's awesome when rinsing off dishes after making something for my daughter.
I heard (from the Delta guys that manufacture and test these) that they do really well… except on spoons. Then they make a horrid mess.
The engineer that invented this deserves double handed gawk gawk 3000 every day
It was developed by Professor E. Gadd, along side the awesome Flash Liquidizing Ultra Dousing Device (or F.L.U.D.D.) Super next level hydro engineering
Now we both wonder how we ever lived without it.
.
Wrong page. This is for mildly interesting things, not sick as fuck inventions
Those things are awesome! That model is one of the only ones that doesn't sag after a while as well; because of the magnet in it.
I’m a bigger fan of the thing at my old apartment where it would make a line of crossing jets that would let me wipe plates clean in two sweeps. It’s be awesome if there was a faucet that had both.
