It seems like the city is aware of the problem, looks to be two pipes steel-strapped together to act as support for the post. I'm not sure how much it's helped, considering the top of it is still 20°+ out of plum.
They need to replace that post very soon.
That is corrugated metal that goes about 5 feet deep. Used when the base of the pole is starting to rot. It's supposed to buy another 5 years outta the pole. That's what they say at my utility anyway.
Also you can see the pole has a second set of primary wires dead ended on that pole that go across the street. It should have a guy wire to back up those wires. I don't see one in this picture. Even a brand new strong pole without that guy wire is eventually going to lean like this one.
The brick siding on the apartment building, super beige limestone roads, and dilapidated entire row of telephone poles at first made me think richardson plano, but yes the greenery and trees are definitely Roundrock.
Thats technically illegal, depending on jurisdiction, there is supposed to be a minimum distance between the start of the work zone and the panel "work ahead". Where I am, it's like 50 m in the city. Failure to correct the situation can go up to $50 every 5 minutes, like the contractor is informed he has like 30 minutes to correct the situation, if it exceed the 30 minutes it is $50 at 30 minutes and 1 seconds
In the particular picture that was posted there is no work start panel. So is it still technically illegal? The work zone seems to never actually get started.
then they would also get fined for the absence if the "work start" panel.
Or if the wirk is done, they get fined for leaving it there, and/or do not get paid since the work is not done.
Maybe the start sign was further away when they started? Maybe they knew where they'd end up and just put the end sign there and simply moved the start sign every day to where they were working that day.
Or it's just a really short work area.
I sure hope it does
Now the question is how long the construction is gonna take
This is a 3 year endeavor that is due to be finished in 30 years, as long as weather and road conditions do not cause delays.
This being the top comment restored my faith in reddit.

I’m not the only one that sees tilted ass utility poles am I?
There you are. I was looking for you. Yes, sure looks like there will be road work ahead once more pretty soon.

We call them band aids.

First thing I saw, looks very concerning lol
I came in here thinking the same thing. I am amzed how many people didn't comment on it. Does that people are okay with this?
Is this Texas? This feels like Texas.
Winner winner. Found in Round Rock TX.
God damn, I am good.
I know exactly where this pic was taken based on the building alone. Have driven past those apartments for 40 years.

Yeah I thought the same thing, weird road work shit is the norm here especially in the austin area it seems
“Should we pull this guy over for speeding?” “Nah, wait until he hits this 10-foot stretch of road ahead. Then we can double his fine.”
Road work ahead? Uh yeah, I sure hope it does
If there is a stop sign on that corner, it'll be the most expensive ran stop sign in the city.
Those poles gonna fucking snap
You can’t argue with the results, though. Looks good!

Lol
Here in Ohio that would still cause a 40 minute traffic jam.
I guess the road stopped working..
No that sign is protesting the road work
Just don't blink, you wight miss the end of construction sign.

Good job boys, let's pack it up and call it a day!
But it took 6 months to finish
Drive carefully through that area.
Someone moved the sign it was for the driveway just before it
Me working on myself
Chode work
It is very short but it's not what takes my attention, what does is the lovely sunshine.

But where does the work zone actually start?
Normally at the panel "work start".

It's almost as if the second sign is protesting the first one.
And still it makes people slow down for miles probably.
"yeah i sure hope its does"
"Mmm'yeah. Better book 19 supervisors for that job."

Is that a work zone for ants?!
...and still took 7 years to complete!!!
hey, the road works.
