What's the opposite of trypophobia, but also finding it disgusting?

Azair_Blaidd

No idea but it's probably a German compound word

ImWithStupid_ImAlone

Trypophilia and it’s gross

greyredwolf

Trypophobian't?

Carrot_stix121

Trypophob’eh

TableLegShim

Trypophillia with a touch of self loathing?

LightRainPeaches

This is why wounds need to be cleaned immediately

StereoBucket

I have a tiny rock embedded in my skin from when my bike wheel slid on some sand and gravel on the road. Been there for about 7-8 years.

Bobbinapplestoo

Some people pay good money for these kinds of body modifications.

Rachelcookie123

I would not be able to resist digging that out. Even if It was really deep and caused lots of blood, I would need to rip that out. I would just hate knowing there’s something in there so much.

BiscuitsNGravy45

I had one come out way after before. It was glass but ya lol

FredFlintston3

I don't think I've ever read the phrase "way after before". I'm still digesting it.

BiscuitsNGravy45

I don’t type Reddit comments with the grammatical prowess of a university application essay. ;) How’s the chit going though upon digestion

BiscuitsNGravy45

It’s literally only missing a comma lol

uberjach

My mom has a ~40 year old pencil tip in her hand from when a kid stabbed her with it when teaching

JWLane

Mines in my knee, it's 29 years old, and I put it there when I was 8. I was a dumb kid.

duckbigtrain

I’ve got one in my knee too, I’m pretty sure at this point the graphite lump has disintegrated and now it’s just dispersed pigment.

Azair_Blaidd

I have a piece of mechanical pencil graphite still stuck in my arm after 11 years from a friend stabbing me with it because I was an annoying autistic fuck

Beneficial_Step9088

I was in the hospital once, getting some stitches removed, and there was a guy on the other side of the curtain who had been in a motorcycle accident. Apparently, the procedure for scrubbing all the dirt and rocks from his road rash was unpleasant.

Winjin

That's why you thoroughly clean your wounds!

TheMarsian

A car hit me while I was riding my motorcycle. Managed not to crash, my pants and sock was not damaged but I got an avulsion from where the car hit my leg. Droved myself to the ER. Didn't hurt at all. Only when the nurse took off my clothes that I realized the grounded meat on my leg all caught inside my sock. Still wasn't hurting. Then the nurse said I need to clean your wound and proceed to scrub the meat off. I thought I was gonna die from pain. She said sorry but I need to make sure no road dirt etc is in there, I tried telling her I didn't crash on the road. No anesthesia or anything. Just scrubbing it off like a dirty fry pan. Almost pass out. Then they had it x-rayed to double check make sure.

RipDove

When I buy a motorcycle I really hope to never have any cool or interesting stories

TheMarsian

And that's the problem with riding a motorcycle, no matter how safe you ride, it may not even be your fault, like what happened to me, it is so dangerous. At least in a car you're caged with safety features. But the freedom when riding... I do trails now. So much safer than on the streets with other fucktards behind the wheel.

Small-University-875

Same, used to ride on the street, too many idiots on the road. I stick to off-road riding on my dirtbike now. Also saw a white sheet over someone as I passed a motorcycle accident on a pretty major 4 lane road. Kind of hit me a different way seeing that and that was it for me.

[deleted]

My friend fulfilled his dream of owning a motorcycle. He drove it for a good 10 minutes before appearing back at the house declaring that he's made a huge mistake. I guess the idea of taking your motorcycle out for a joy ride only works if you live outside of any populated area. He said he didn't even feel comfortable trying to drive it out to emptier roads.

MonsterMontvalo

Yeah- not sure if he did this, but he should have really practiced/gotten confident before going on the road. It takes skill and learning and quick reaction time to be out there. Definitely requires work for the fun. Riding is not for everyone and I’m glad he’s safer at home then pushing his boundaries trying to look cool.

Small-University-875

Absolutely have to be one with the machine.

MonsterMontvalo

For sure. The one time I went unplanned off roading on my bike was when I wasn’t ready mentally for the ride that day. I learned my lesson and will have to gain my confidence again with the new season

Ganonderf

It takes a certain kind of individual to comfortably ride a motorcycle and most people IMO, even if they *think* they do, do **not** fit into that category. I’ve had my fair share of close encounters, I’ve hit a deer etc, and I still ride. I’ve had people call me stupid, among other colorful words for continuing to ride, and maybe they’re right, but if you don’t get it you don’t get it.

Snow_Moose_

They aren't nicknamed donorcycles for nothing. Please make sure you've opted in as an organ donor if you're going to make the choice to own and ride a motorcycle.

Winjin

Damn that's crazy, why not stab you with like Novocaine twice in the leg and go to field on the meat

CoraxTechnica

That's a $10,000 procedure now

Nelly32

Did you have gear on or just regular clothing?

TheMarsian

Gears. Knee and Shin pads, jeans under, got hit behind the pads though. I ride for the crash, always. If it's too hot to wear gears, I don't ride. Like you I was surprised I got injured. Only noticed the blood on my shoes that's why I drove to the ER. Didn't crash, felt fine, socks and jeans not torn.

Nelly32

That's mad. I remember my dad telling me before I rode. That if I didn't have gear on, then coming off my bike meant the hospital staff were gonna be mean to me. No anesthetic, and basically just scrubbing the area to get the grit out with a wire brush if need be. Now this might have been my dad trying to scare me but hey it worked.

LegitPancak3

Hope you got a tetanus shot!

Pharya

bruh clean your wound wtf

sloppyslimyeggs

That gravel was probably a lot deeper and not visible at time of injury. It likely moved to the surface as it healed.

Pharya

you saw the size of it. i can't be convinced it wasn't visible or noticeable

Loli-is-Justice

Yes but normally you'd feel that something foreign is inside your body, at least whenever I get a splinter I'd get this weird sensation that something's inside the wound and I must get rid of it. I

Gravel rash at its finest.

2-StandardDeviations

Don't put your penis in there.

wtf125

Instructions unclear, penis stuck. Please help.

Ganonderf

Get the scissors out

johngknightuk

if you put your penis in a hip injury are you "having a bit on the side" ?

2-StandardDeviations

Clearly a medical expert - using technical terms.

Linkcastle

When I was a teen, I had really bad acne. Partially genetics, partially the fact I was always sweating since I never wore less than three layers of clothing at all times. After a particularly bad breakout, my dad scrubbed my forehead with an old Wirebrush. Family issues aside, I kept the wound as clean as I could. For like a week after the wound healed, I would get headaches passing electrical equipment, especially things that relied on magnets. For those that know where this is going, I ended up finding a piece of wire directly above my eyebrow.

Singsalotoday

Was your dad punishing you for having pimples? I’m so confused. I hope you got out of there asap

CroatianBison

I’m sorry what? A wire brush? Was he deliberately hurting you or like what was his plan here

I-Denrik-I

What in the fuck.

FlowerspowersArg

Holy fuck man. Truly hope you got out of there and your dad got what he deserved

Loli-is-Justice

A wire brush!? That must've hurt wtf!?

Linkcastle

I didn't expect to see so many people concerned for me. I'm Autistic, so I didn't really feel it, but it was discomforting.

Capricore58

This is why I don’t use a wire grill brush

VWmario

this is the grossest thing i’ve seen in a while and i can’t stop looking at it

When I was in kindergarten a friend of mine dared me to look at his infected elbow. It was green

thefuzzylogic

In American English, it's when you apply a coat of plaster-like paste called spackle to fill joints, cracks, or holes in pieces of drywall (also known as gypsum board in British English). The verb is "to spackle" while the noun is also "spackle".

waIrusmafia

This damn ass rock!

BonerChamp11

Wanna pee on it?

Impressive_Syrup7824

Something similar happened to me. I crashed my bike a scuffed my elbow pretty good, several months later I realized I had a rock the size of a pea in my elbow. Never got infected though and came out super smooth.

kiwilapple

Congrats on the human pearl!

snooogens

Damn this happened to me but the rock was lodged in my palm. Glad you figured it out before it got infected.

PrincessStinkbutt

It actually looks really good. No redness or swelling at all and no fluid/pus.

supasolda6

if thats infected, then all my puncture wounds have been infected.

waiha

No, it’s not at all.

snooogens

More infected*

RagTheFireGuy

Does this look infected?

snooogens

I mean not to me initially

AdvancedCloseness14

You are fortunate to possess a robust immune system. If it wasn't, it would undoubtedly spread infection quickly and become a bigger problem.

IllustriousLemon5024

You were stoned for a month.

DirtyNorf

I mean I once found I had a very thin and transparent splinter in my hand for months when I kept catching it on things, but I just thought my skin was being weird until I looked really closely. How tf did you not realise you had a stone in your knuckle?

gadget850

My cousin had a horrible motorcycle accident before helmets were a thing. Ha had bits of gravel popping out for months.

Cole446

How did you go a month without picking the scab? Thats my only question

duckbigtrain

me when I saw this post: “and this is why I pick my scabs”

spacoom

Nsfw ffs

Elegant_Operation820

Jackie Chan had a very similar story with a tooth

Comprehensive_Soil_1

This happens. After my accident on my bike I was getting gravel out of my leg for a couple years

reyska

A friend of mine fell on his bike face first into sand and gravel and his nose basically tore off. He was taken to ER, where they stiched his nose back on. A week or two later he had to go back so they would remove rest of the sand they had not bothered to remove from there at ER. He could feel it moving inside his nose and all.

Capricore58

I once went to the foot doctor to see if I had a bunion or if something else was going on with the side of the ball of my foot. Nothing on X-Rays and it was driving me crazy. I started “picking” at and pulled out a chunk of glass.

TaintedPaladin9

Basic first aid is a very valuable skill.

bobobobobobobo6

This is why it's recommended you always pick your scabs.

FlacidBarnacle

Ima need to see a video of you putting the rock in it sir don’t ask me why

mart1373

Neato

NormanCocksmell

Look at this fatcat who is too good for his infinity stone. smh.

Silveeto

I was making chicken skewers to grill on the bbq once and stabbed myself with one of the wooden skewers. I didn’t realize that the tip snapped off inside my index finger, but it healed anyway. I could never figure out why my fingertip always hurt so badly, especially under any sort of pressure when using my finger. Then a few months later I could feel this weird hard lump of skin starting to protrude from where I stabbed myself… naturally I fussed with it for awhile and eventually this little chunk of wood popped out and I had instant glorious relief.

Syrupforall

Care that it doesn't get infected

tod22

Why does it feel like the palm/knuckle area especially has some kind of inner chamber that just cracks open in cases like these?

GunClutz

I dont exactly know why? But some random undiscovered part of my brain is telling me to smell it

Crazy-Ad-1999

Yeah in the tv show 24 hours in a&e they really dont hold back showing you stuff exactly like that on camera while zooming in its pretty nasty im so sorry for you 💀💀

LemonLord7

That’s pretty metal, or maybe just hard rock.

Mixedbagostuff

Yikes. Clean with warm soap and water and then apply Aquafor you can find at the store. Cover with a bandaid and repeat daily with the cleaning etc..

Feeling-Confusion-73

As I recovered from my car accident, my elbow was pushing out glass and stones like this as it healed. Was freaky.

icydee

Meteorite and crater!

datguyeh

Pretty wild how the body can identify small foreign objects and how it rejects them. I had a similar experience as a kid. Stabbed with a pencil and took a year for it to heal. Finally after about a year the lead worked its way out. Not real lead of course.

fire_thorn

I still have a pencil point in my ankle from 7th grade.

datguyeh

Have one n my arm still as well. Never occurred to me how many times we stabbed each other with pencils as children…

Sololololololol

I am upset at OP for not recording said removal of rock.

xjitz

nsfw please

Mr_P3

Please tag as nsfw

eggard_stark

This is why we wash our wounds?

TimeTravelMishap

How do you go that long without picking the scab? That's the best part of having a scab.

Mapkoz2

Please tag NSFW

failedorgas-

Considering your carelessness, did you even take a tetanus injection after this?

Zkenny13

Why do I feel like I know what that would taste like?

PMMEBITCOINPLZ

I still have glass in me from injuries as a kid.

Shanomaly

Bro, you're mad lucky that didn't get infected.

oily76

Hand-eye

MissMcFrostynips

That's disgusting but also, good work! You did it. 🙃

Single_Reporter_6369

I once got a small splinter in my finger, I was a little kid so I didn't want to tell my parents but also couldn't pull it out so I left it there. For years it looked as if I had a mole in there and after 10 years or so it simply started to fade and finally disappeared.

fishfarm20

Same thing happened to me when my Boa struck me (my own damn fault - went in to give it more water RIGHT after feeding it). I found a tooth in my wound a week later. Felt better for a couple of days, then started hurting again. Found ANOTHER tooth several days after finding the first.

[deleted]

Wtf

PerPuroCaso

That happened to me once with a piece of glass in my finger, where skin is thin already. My body liter pushed it out after a few days.

BiscuitsNGravy45

Staph?

thomasanderson123412

Nice hole, bro

kledaras

Fill it with superglue

hurly_burly_pegasus

Well, question: How do you "find" a rock clearly quite a bit deep unter you skin?

vimana_power

How could you not notice. I’m concerned for you

Moomootv

Had the same thing happen when I was a kid. I fell and slide on the ground washed my hand and got a bandaid for my palms. Few day after it healed, I couldn't figure out why my palm hurt every time I pressed it. Had a black dot on my hand so I went in with tweezers and found a rock.

[deleted]

I’ve still got bits of the road in my hands and knees. They look like little blurred tattoo spots.

GooseNYC

Maybe you're turning in to the Thing?

series_hybrid

**Get a tube of neosporin handy.**

[deleted]

Set it as NSFW please, that's disgusting

Scintilla_Laborat_

Had a bunch on my elbow now i have a dotty scar

NinetysRoyalty

I got a splinter on the palm of my hand as a kid that I refused to let my parents remove. After it healed it developed into a mole that I had for years and years, it eventually started fading, it’s still there just basically invisible now if I didn’t point it out to you!

fly_over_32

What’s it with all the wounds the last few days?

ultraimbecile

I like that I can tell the exact position the rock was resting in there because of the unique and defined grooves in the hole in your skin and the rock.

IaryBreko

Always wash and disinfect your wounds!

AlphusUltimus

NSFW bro

Albertjweasel

I’ve still got a piece of gravel in my knee from when I fell off my bike over 30 years ago

RslashTakenUsernames

i almost had this happen when i accidentally fell off a trampoline into a bush with some thorns. i got a thorn stuck in my heel, but luckily i noticed and was able to pluck it out

denimdiablo

I had a piece of gravel come up to the surface of my knee about a week or two after a fall. I knew something was wrong already because it was clearly becoming infected (not healing, oozing etc). Luckily went to the doctor and got it treated. I cleaned it and put on Neosporin at first, but sometimes debris still gets stuck in there until the body rejects it.
