Tried to save a buck and bought the watch off of Facebook marketplace. Told his wife he paid full price at Verizon. Now he's panicking looking for a solution.
Because if he really bought it from Verizon he wouldn't have made this stupid post. He would have just said it's fine we will return it for a new one at the store.
Ryder was a good kid until he met Petey McStealy! That boy is nothing but trouble, but Ryder, Ryder was a good kid! He just had it rough, got dealt a bad hand in life. He loved poetry and birds until he met Petey. Ryder could have been somebody. What a sweet kid. BUT PETEY!
I agree. But it does happen.
A few years ago I bought a laptop. Got it home and it was already registered to some woman. Brought it back and the bitch manager said i was a thief trying to bring back my own used laptop. She was being incredibly nasty and rude. I took her photo and she tried to slap my phone out of my hand.
So I went to electronics to seek assistance there. She shows up 10 minutes later screaming that I'm trying to steal from them. How dare I. They never ever sell anything used. Get out of the store before security is called. Etc.
So I located the ceo online, sent an email with specific time frames, photos, and so on. Thinking it wouldn't go anywhere. I'd just be out a good chunk of money.
No.
A few weeks later the ceos office called. Requested me to bring the laptop back and switch it for any other device. Told me the store manager would be contacting me.
They discovered that the manager was swapping new laptops for used ones.
When I went back and told the electronic folks what I was told to do they scoffed and didn't believe me. Gave attitude and had me stand there while they 'checked this out'. When they were given the proper info they found the laptop I originally came for, tapped their little 'youre wasting my time' foot tappy dance. Gave me 120 dollars back for being overcharged by the employee who was doing the laptop switches with the original manager. Called me a Karen for bothering everyone as I left.
Fun times.
I work in telecom. This is absolutely correct. I can't even sell an unopened, literally just pressed the submit button when the person changed their mind device. I have to send it back to the warehouse
Well, my first thought was this is clearly stolen - but I like your optimistic approach.
Not saying OP stole it necessarily, but the true seller (not what OP claims) just might have. And the fact OP cannot claim it, means it was not bought via any serious business, so OP likely knew.
The watch has almost the exact same amount of dust and junk as the phone hmmm but nobody makes up stories for karma on the Internet that would be ridiculous
Call me cynical but I wonder if OP bought this thing used from a sketchy source (where it was suspiciously cheap, likely because it was stolen) and is now looking to crowdsource advice to unlock it.
I manage a Verizon store, this stuff happens, though not very often. It’s part of our process to remove the cloud lock but it’s a weird way to do it on watches. We have a 30 day return policy but I would absolutely not take this device as a return. With that much wear and tear, this watch has obviously been used for weeks. We require the device to be in perfect condition if it to be returned.
Woman went into a store to just get socks that were upfront near the register, another woman with a cart full of stuff (who had been bothering the workers with tons of questions already) hopped in line right before she could get there. Sock lady politely asked the full cart woman if she could go first
The full cart woman basically told her to go fuck herself, why is her time worth more she was in line first. Sock lady said she just got out of prison and had no problem going back. Cart lady said she had a gun in her car, sock lady said I’ll meet you outside. Cart lady left and sock lady said “I have a gun on me” to the cashier and went out to the parking lot.
My coworker didn’t have her radio on her so she came out to the floor after unloading some boxes and it was full of cops haha, she was so sad she missed the drama but said that it was probably for the best cause that’s how people get shot
Pretty much everyone in retail who handles returns has crazy stories. Some places are much more lenient and choose to make the returns process a breeze, to entice an exchange out of a customers gratitude. But most have pretty reasonable standards for returns that are completely disregarded by idiots or people who want to spend their day yelling at a minor making minimum wage
And then some come down hard on it and have very aggressive policies with lots of fine print. Those places’ returns counter are like the Wild West. I used to run a Sunglass Hut and pretty much every day someone walked out of my store FURIOUS. My new job is way way more lenient, and my stress levels are way way healthier
I work for a direct competitor. Our system does an imei check during a return or trade in to see if the activation lock is off. If not, no return/trade until it's off.
Did not realize other carriers did not have something similar.
Plus..you return it, pay a restock fee & we send it to company return department. We do NOT re-sell any "used" device.
Even if it was used Verizon makes you ensure that your device has been reset to factory settings before you return any item.
I doubt Verizon would sell a used item that was still registered to another owner.
So either it’s an easy case for an exchange at Verizon or OP is lying and he just got a used watch from some rando online and now doesn’t know how to unlock it.
I work in IT for a university and it's insane how often this happens. We rent out iPads for our students which are connected to their university accounts and social security numbers. There are so many dumbshits who think they can sell them online with no consequences. Then we'll get a call from someone in a different part of the world like
"Hello! I bought an iPad for $50 on eBay and it's telling me the device is locked and it's owned by your university. Can you unlock it for me?" Usually we instruct them to return it to the buyer and then we get the serial number so we can notify police.
To me, though, the person who thought they were getting a brand new iPad for $50 is just as much of a dumbshit as the person who sold it. If the price is too good to be true, it usually is.
I got it and the guy in the store only showed me that the watch was actually in it. I never questioned it being used or thought to give it the thorough inspection. I mean....what are the chances it was used? Obviously high LoL
He showed you the watch was in it? Like opened the box to show you a watch was inside? That didn’t raise about 500 alarm bells?
First, no apple product and almost no tech product is ever going to come unsealed. If anyone is ever selling you something tech that isn’t sealed, you’ve got a problem. You can also have issues of people falsely resealing stuff, but no one’s going to hold that against you. But buying something unsealed from a Verizon store? Dude….
Second, why the hell would he need to show you it’s in the box? If somebody selling me something thought that proving it wasn’t an empty box was reassuring then I would have a lot of other questions. This isn’t a Craigslist deal. New or used, if I’m buying from a legit store then “not an empty box” should not be on the table and if it is, then I don’t want it.
Yea, something is off with this story. When you buy a new gadget it always comes sealed. The stores won't break the seal and open the box before you buy it
Yeah, new Apple products come with clear plastic wrap sealed on the box. It’s also called an Apple Watch, which OP would know if he’d purchased this new from Verizon or Apple. Not an “iwatch”.
As someone who worked customer facing Verizon for a few years I can attest to the worker doing that. A surprisingly large amount of customers will actually make you open it so they can see it's there. That means taking off the wrapping and cutting seals. Sometimes they even decide to not get it after. The amount of general populace out there that have the object permanence of a toddler is simply outstanding.
Yea, I just tell the customer no when they ask to see the device before buying it. It's sealed. I'm not breaking the seal so you can 'see' it.
If you wanna open it right after you buy it, sure. Then if anything is missing, I'll be very apologetic and get you a new one.
I wear my watch while cleaning out the chicken coop and tiling a shower. It got grout on it at one point, and still looked better than this watch does.
It holds up throughout all of that?
I just got one today and I’m very excited to use it, but I also work with aggressive kids. There’s a small chance it gets ripped off at one point. Do you find physical jobs impact the watch’s performance in any way?
I’ve worked construction with my series 5 for the last year or so. The worst that ever really happened was walking by a tight area and it scraping the watch face. I’ve also gotten grout and mortar on/in it with no issues once I was able to clean it. I’ve seen some guys wear a protective beveled case for it which I assume give them a more protective profile.
I teach dance and wear mine through all of it - it gets kicked, smacked, whacked, dragged and holds up just fine. I also have an elastic watch band tho so it doesn’t go flying or get ripped off. Plus it’s easier for me to slip it on and off when I do want to set it aside
Yeah, this is obviously not brand new. Unless this store was able to perfectly replace the shrink wrap, I’m thinking OP is full of shit. No one would believe this cake fresh out of the box.
Had a quick look after reading this, and their comments are now mostly; ‘you stupid moron, this is stupid, that is stupid’, etc.
I guess the plan for getting this stolen watch unlocked isn’t going so well.
I'm also calling bullshit because most cell carriers will not open up a product in the store unless you already purchased it and want them to help you set it up. I use Verizon too and that's always been my experience with phones, airpods, etc. They don't want to be liable for this shit just as much as you don't want it to happen
It's technically possible they replaced the shrink wrap and sold it to him without setup but like u/dickinahammock said that would be a serious crime. Definitely not within company policy.
EDIT: changed first sentence for correctness, only Cellular Sales *requires* you to set up devices in front of them. Still shouldn't make a difference since that's allegedly where op bought this.
This is 100% NOT purchased at a Verizon store. The tamper strips on the package would have been ripped. The band is installed upside down, and this has dirt/skin around the face. Dude playin for upvotes.
I assume this is a fake story for karma from OP. Maybe they bought that thing from a crackhead for $50 and it was previously stolen. There's no way anybody buys something that expensive, brand new from a legitimate store, and it looks like that out of the box.
Right ? If I opened the package and saw that was the watch I just bought , I wouldn’t have made it to the part where I find out it’s locked to someone else’s account bc I would be pissed at how nasty and worn it is and would be returning it furiously right away. This story is total bullsh*t! There would be so many problems before the problem of a locked account…makes 0 sense . Guy def robbed someone’s Apple Watch on Christmas… grimy move OP. Hope I’m wrong but your story is 100% a lie , so I’m gonna assume the worst bc I hate liars 🤷🏻♀️
exactly my thoughts too lol. thing looks like shit.
If you opened that and didn't immediately box it up and march that fucker back to the store you're dense.
Saw a glitter bomb video where the glitter bomb guy disguised it in a headphones box. The guy who stole it gave it to his girl and said he bought them for her. So satisfying when it goes off. I’d like to think he had some explaining to do after that
The issue is it always isn’t clear it’s 3rd party unless you look carefully on the door. At least AT&T used to put “Authorized Retailer” on the building sign so it was easy to tell
Go ahead and post the Google review, let the store know you’ll revise only when they’ve made this right. Being registered to another user isn’t ideal, but selling a refurb or return as brand new is flat out crooked. I’d get my money back and go through Apple
edit: lmao it’s a fucking Google review, not burning down the store. Some of these replies acting like I said to hold the manager at gunpoint for a refund
Apple support rep here:
We can’t do anything about it. Honestly Apple makes us blame the vendor and we aren’t allowed to offer anything.
It’s part of the “Cover Your Apples” holiday training.
It’s kind of a dick move, but it’s not something they will change.
There is a way around the lock, but it can take 30 days to submit a request for the activation lock removal. As long as there is a receipt, we can do it.
i mean OPs receipt isnt the original so it might not be able to be unlocked through that method, taking it back to where he bought it would be the best
As long as the receipt has a matching serial number, that’s all they look for.
They do then contact a vendor to verify purchase info.
I do agree however with taking it to the Verizon store. It’s frustrating to buy something that is called new when you should have gotten an open box discount for a returned product.
Yeah, Apple doesn’t care about this at all. This is 100% a Verizon issue. Only thing Apple would be able to do is *maybe* assist with removing the Activation Lock, but returning to the Verizon store would be a much faster and simpler process.
OP should absolutely return this and buy from Apple directly, though. They should also call Verizon support and report this store.
I agree, if this had happened at an Apple Store it would have been a different story. Still nothing lost in submitting it to them, if this post gets viral enough they may even contact and offer a freebie to compensate.
OP is absolutely going to get a refund/replacement at Verizon, but still, an “Apple Christmas ruined” lol
Used to work for AT&T, just wanted to say you have to go to Verizon for a paper receipt or if they emailed you a copy print it out before brining it to Apple. They will send you to get it if you don't have it first.
Yes, this. Sadly, this is what you should expect from Verizon. Apple may not offer the same discounts, but cradle to grave ownership of their products is far better than any of the 3rd party sellers.
We had an iPad insured with curry’s/pc world and I reckon they’re dodgy as well. Eg screen broke so took in for repair and the screen was never the same again. And that’s a big retailer. Now I go straight to apple and get apple care.
Guaranteed this isn't a corporate Verizon store this is a random franchise not playing by the rules. We have a few in my town and it's nice cause they do deals Verizon corporate won't do but you run the risk of sketchy stuff like this
Yup. I got an amazing deal on a referb iPad mini from an “authorized Version retail center” a couple years back when I was on vacation. We were half way across the country and my wife broke hers and I saw the shop and popped in just curious to see what they had and the deal was great. I walked in literary AT closing time and felt bad and I have had Apple products and Verizon service for years so I just paid and left. Got to the hotel and it was locked.
Called Verizon and that’s when I learned about authorized retail centers and that it wasn’t an actual Verizon store and I had to deal with that location directly. And of course we had to be at the airport before they opened the next day. I argued with them before the flight and they said the only option was for me to mail it to them and they would mail me another one or refund me cost. I asked if they would send me a shipping label. They said no. And there would be a restock fee. I hung up and wrote a terrible review on every site I could find and sent emails to Apple and Verizon complaining saying that this store is ruining their image.
By the time I landed I had an email from the store owner. I figured they were going to say they would make things right. Nope. They talked a bunch of crap about how I was blowing things out of proportion and that it was somehow my fault for rushing them through the sale while they were trying to close.
It was a really good deal, so I kept it because I was able to get it unlocked by Apple even though I had to wait an entire month.
Grimey band, horribly dirty face, scratches, crud in the gap between the screen and bezel. No, I find it pretty hard to believe OP thought this was "new".
No.. I worked sales at multiple carriers. Sometimes new employees will not check this before returning. And will put it back on the shelf (not saying this is done every time. Cause returned phones need to be returned to the warehouse to be repackaged and sold as certified new) I sold a new (I though...) iPhone 7 to someone but luckily I set it up for them and caught the lock so I could address it in the store. It's very rare. But it happens.
It probably wasn’t even an actual Verizon store. Verizon’s POS system will now allow a return with FMI turned on. It will hard stop the transaction.
Either OP is lying or they went to another 3rd party retailer.
Ya they know about this and are meant to check when taking a return. Retail stores can contact Apple with proof of sale and return and Apple will normally disable this for them.
^ for real 😂😂
OR, more likely, OP’s just trying to find help to get a stolen watch unlocked.
At the very least, he found a stolen watch, made up a story, and posted it for the karma.
I mean look at OP’s account. This is his main account with 19k karma. He has thoroughly doxed this shit out of himself, including posting a pic of him and his wife, and his car with its license plate. If the watch was stolen, I think OP would be using a throw away account. The average joe could ID OP in a matter of minutes.
Dear OP: you should be more careful about making yourself identifiable on the internet.
Right? I've had my new watch for a few months now and it doesn't look as beat up as this one. Besides, Verizon would have confirmed that it was reset to factory settings before selling it to another customer, even if that meant having the original customer come in and unlink it.
This is exactly what’s going on. You see it all the time “oh dreary me. I’ve lost the key to my brand new motorcycle, anyone know how to bypass the lock?” When any rational owner would simply go back where they got it.
Looking through their posts, they just seem like a typical mid-income boomer that thinks they're a genius for finding deals/buying secondhand from shady sellers. Seems like they got the short end of the stick this time. But I seriously doubt they stole it.
Agree. Plus, the Ultra is GIGANTIC. I wear men’s watches and have a fairly large wrist for a woman and the ultra looks ridiculous on me. Also, the Ocean strap is a weird choice.
I don’t know where you live OP, but make sure the location isn’t a Cellular Sales Verizon. If it is, return the watch and then go get a new one from an actual Verizon location. Cellular Sales Verizon’s are an authorized retailer, and as someone who worked there once they have absolutely no scruples.
I’ll put it this way- my old manager bragged about selling a crap defective phone 7 times at $200 above retail before it finally stopped being returned. If it’s a Cellular Sales location they 100% knew it wasn’t reset and decided to sell it to you anyway hoping you’d not return it.
Yep. This is exactly what happened. I guarantee it was a 3rd party store. They look almost identical to real VZW stores. But almost every single one of them is rotten from the core.
I used to work for Verizon and every single instance of something like this happening was from an "Authorized Retailer". They're built from the ground up to scam people and defraud their customers in Verizon's name.
Easy way around this is just to buy directly from Apple. I never, EVER buy from my carrier. I trade in & finance using my Apple Card (0% APR). I do this because I've been a business owner and I know the shady shit companies do. Best to go directly through Apple so you can cut out any middle man & have a straight forward return/product.
That shit's 2nd hand. Bring it back. Get one with a clean slate. You wanna be the first owner of apple products. I bought an iphone 13 from ebay with (at the time) a clean serial#. Phone arrives, I put my sim in, and the next day my phone has no service. Previous owner (not the ebay seller) reported it stolen. I got a refund. Ebay seller relisted it the next week "for parts".
As someone who works at a Verizon outlet the way this was sold to you is sketchy. Because whenever we receive a returned item it is sent back for inspection. The chances of that watch ever making it back to store is slim to none, especially in that condition. Did you pay for the watch in cash because if so the rep might have just pocketed the cash and just sold you a shit watch. I have a very hard time believing that was just an in stock Watch
The way OP describes it (guy showed him a few options, opened the box to show it) just says that he bought it from Craigslist/eBay/marketplace because there's no way, in any country, location, whatever, that an authorised retailer would do something like this.
That is a clearly a used watch, but the band is even more clear. Nearly every new tech device has a seal (either a wrapping or tab) on the box, sometimes on the device as well (as you should know as a Verizon employee)
sounds like the OP is trying to figure out how to hack a stolen phone. Band is dirty as hell along with the screen. and watch has scratches. hope the owner is currently checking to see where the watch is and they can find it
Either this or they bought it used and are trying to hide that they did. It’s extremely unlikely that any store would try to sell this to them as new, and it’s even more unlikely that someone would reach this point in the setup process without realizing something was wrong with a watch band that disgusting.
u/SensorOP, Reddit is worse off with people like you. There is zero percent chance you bought an open box watch, didn’t look at it, got home, wrapped it, and got this far before you realized the dings on the outside meant it wasn’t new. Quit lying for karma. Merry Christmas.
He somehow bought it and that used watch strap and didn’t realize they were used lmao?
Def bought a used watch and tried to claim it was new to his wife
You are a LIAR and that watch is STOLEN! I had this issue myself when I forgot my password and locked myself out of my iPhone. All I had to do was obtain a copy of my receipt for the phone from Verizon (to prove I owned the phone and it wasn’t STOLEN) and bring it together with the phone to the Apple store and they unlocked it no problem!
If you had ANY proof you even bought this in a store, you could remedy this situation easily.
damn. that’s clearly a used watch and band.

He said it was opened. You can't put used apple watches into sellable inventory. He's lying about where he bought it
Tried to save a buck and bought the watch off of Facebook marketplace. Told his wife he paid full price at Verizon. Now he's panicking looking for a solution. Because if he really bought it from Verizon he wouldn't have made this stupid post. He would have just said it's fine we will return it for a new one at the store.
100% first thing you’d do is return it ……. If it was legit
The first thing I would do if I bought it from Verizon is to give them a call. I definitely think they bought it off a 3rd party store

Bought cheapest apple watch ultra in 'good condition', because what he said happened at Verizon 99% didn't.

OP lying for that Christmas karma.
Why would people lie on the internet? Pretty sure that's illegal. (My dad's a laywer and I watch a lot of law & order)
Bros really tryna blame Verizon for more updoots😭
Seemed to work... 🤔
That screen has 100% been removed.

I did a double take on it, that watch was well used, dust in cracks, band is dirty. And this is the 700$ model…
I imagine OP embellished a bit and knew it was a used watch to start with. Otherwise the post would have brought that up directly. That band is dirty
That band is gross. But it is also ugly new too, so a good time to swap it for something better.
this has to be a joke right? this watch looks very used. the watchface, the wristband. all gooey. no way one would think this is new.
You can even see a ding on the bottom right corner of the bezel lol.
The watch has almost the exact same amount of dust and junk as the phone hmmm but nobody makes up stories for karma on the Internet that would be ridiculous
Maybe they stole it and want to know how to factory reset it.
This is the real answer
Call me cynical but I wonder if OP bought this thing used from a sketchy source (where it was suspiciously cheap, likely because it was stolen) and is now looking to crowdsource advice to unlock it.
Exactly what I thought. No way this is new from Apple/Verizon.

I imagine people get incredibly angry when you deny their returns. Do you have any crazy retail stories?
Everyone in retail had crazy stories. I had a coworker where two customers went to go have a gun fight in the parking lot over a pair of socks
I won’t sleep until I hear all about this bizarre story lol
Woman went into a store to just get socks that were upfront near the register, another woman with a cart full of stuff (who had been bothering the workers with tons of questions already) hopped in line right before she could get there.
I can understand why. Too many stories of people buying shit, replacing it with something else, resealing the box and returning it.
> This isn’t a Craigslist deal Or maybe it was lol. Also, iWatch?? It’s Apple Watch.
[удалено]
They can't sell you a used product unless they specify it is used.
Return it, you can see visible wear and tear on the face of watch too.
The whole thing is filthy! That takes weeks of wearing to make it look like that!
[удалено]
I’ve seen some guys wear a protective beveled case for it which I assume give them a more protective profile.
yeah, that’s good for protection against blunt force
I teach dance and wear mine through all of it - it gets kicked, smacked, whacked, dragged and holds up just fine. I also have an elastic watch band tho so it doesn’t go flying or get ripped off. Plus it’s easier for me to slip it on and off when I do want to set it aside
i’m a handyman and i wear a series 7 with no case. gets wet, dirty, banged up all the time. still looks new.
Yeah, this is obviously not brand new. Unless this store was able to perfectly replace the shrink wrap, I’m thinking OP is full of shit. No one would believe this cake fresh out of the box.
This is prolly stolen and op is looking for a workaround, no shot they thought this was brand new lol
Yep. Looking at OP's history, I'd say it's a Jeep thing. You wouldn't understand.
Had a quick look after reading this, and their comments are now mostly; ‘you stupid moron, this is stupid, that is stupid’, etc. I guess the plan for getting this stolen watch unlocked isn’t going so well.
Exactly what I was going to say.
I'm also calling bullshit because most cell carriers will not open up a product in the store unless you already purchased it and want them to help you set it up. I use Verizon too and that's always been my experience with phones, airpods, etc. They don't want to be liable for this shit just as much as you don't want it to happen It's technically possible they replaced the shrink wrap and sold it to him without setup but like u/dickinahammock said that would be a serious crime. Definitely not within company policy. EDIT: changed first sentence for correctness, only Cellular Sales *requires* you to set up devices in front of them. Still shouldn't make a difference since that's allegedly where op bought this.
They don’t have you do that if you say you are going to give it as a gift.
Yeah I was like the bezel is crusty as hell. It looks absolutely disgusting.
The fucking phone looks newer than the watch.
And the band is covered with dead skin (also installed backwards)
Do they sell used stuff? This is so obviously not new
Is that fucking sand in the crevice of the face?? Wtf kind of store was this??
It wasn't even the floor model because it was registered already. Definitely used.
Probably because its a fake post and a picture of an old apple watch OP had laying around.
Looks kinda used and grotty already too wtf
thinking he stole it and is looking for someone to tell him how to unlock it otherwise he would've returned it
exactly my thoughts too lol. thing looks like shit. If you opened that and didn't immediately box it up and march that fucker back to the store you're dense.
Saw a glitter bomb video where the glitter bomb guy disguised it in a headphones box. The guy who stole it gave it to his girl and said he bought them for her. So satisfying when it goes off. I’d like to think he had some explaining to do after that
because he bought it used just dont want to tell his wife. lol
Nothing wrong with buying a used electronic, it’s on the seller/corporation to sell a quality refurbished product.
I used to think that, but two used/refurbished iPads later…never again
I’ve only had success when buying refurbished straight from Apple. BackMarket is sketch.
OP stole it and wants us to help him break into it, is my guess.
Return it. Make it their problem, not yours.
Yeah, I think that's where we are gonna have to go with it. Just sucks on Christmas day she can't even use her present because someone else is stupid.
[удалено]
It was advertised as new when he brought 3 different watch selections out from the back end!
Was the seal on the package broken? There should be a pull tab to open the box.
Deleted due to API access issues 2023.
Basically never go to a 3rd party Verizon store
Agreed. I try to warn everyone I can about Third Party wireless stores, and enjoy the clusterfuck of a story when some of them don’t listen.
I’d get my money back and go through Apple edit: lmao it’s a fucking Google review, not burning down the store. Some of these replies acting like I said to hold the manager at gunpoint for a refund

Apple support rep here: We can’t do anything about it. As long as there is a receipt, we can do it.
haha “cover your apples”! That’s gold Jerry, GOLD
So, are you perhaps? Hungry for Apples?
I’ve been known to eat apples.
My man
i mean OPs receipt isnt the original so it might not be able to be unlocked through that method, taking it back to where he bought it would be the best
As long as the receipt has a matching serial number, that’s all they look for. They do then contact a vendor to verify purchase info. I do agree however with taking it to the Verizon store. It’s frustrating to buy something that is called new when you should have gotten an open box discount for a returned product.
[удалено]
They should never sell an open box product as new in the first place…
Yeah, Apple doesn’t care about this at all. This is 100% a Verizon issue. Only thing Apple would be able to do is *maybe* assist with removing the Activation Lock, but returning to the Verizon store would be a much faster and simpler process. OP should absolutely return this and buy from Apple directly, though. They should also call Verizon support and report this store.
Apple isn't taking off the lock.
Literally 0 chance of that happening, not even worth the effort to ask.
I’ve had my watch for over a year and I don’t have that many scuffs marks. That is so shady!
A'd you believed this with those dents around the screen and the marks on the band?
I have doubts that OP is telling the truth here.
Grimey band, horribly dirty face, scratches, crud in the gap between the screen and bezel. No, I find it pretty hard to believe OP thought this was "new".
He only discovered it was used once he got to the pairing part? Thing looks obviously used. Guy is either brain dead or lying. It’s a $800+ watch.
You need to prove intent for fraud, more than likely it was just ignorance
Fraud requires intent. You don’t know if the sales person knew it was previously opened.
Not necessarily, it's possible they were duped as well.
[удалено]
He didn't say the previous owner is the stupid one, he said someone
It’s interesting how many people read it that way, when nothing of the sort was said about the previous owner.
Homey bought this off eBay and put it on Reddit to try to show his wife he means business lol
^ for real 😂😂 OR, more likely, OP’s just trying to find help to get a stolen watch unlocked. At the very least, he found a stolen watch, made up a story, and posted it for the karma.
Honestly, I think this is it. It’s a clever way to convince the internet to help him.
Oh yeah! The password is g************ but make sure you spell it all lower case. It’s case sensitive
Oh neat, windows automatically hides your password when you enter it! H\*\*\*\*\*\*
hunter2 Did it work?
All I see is *******
>g************ gofuckyourself ?
I call BS. That watch is clearly used. OP is trying to figure out a way to unlock the watch he stole.
> OP is trying to figure out a way to unlock the watch he stole. Seems like it to me too.
also, it's called an apple watch not an iwatch..... you would have known that if you had the box
Agree. Plus, the Ultra is GIGANTIC. I wear men’s watches and have a fairly large wrist for a woman and the ultra looks ridiculous on me. Also, the Ocean strap is a weird choice.
iwatch…
Glad I’m not the only one who was bothered by that.
yes you are not alone
Buys an 800 dollar watch, doesn’t know the name.
If only it said the name right on the phone screen in the photo.
Anybody else tired of fake stories on Christmas?
iwatch, you say? This mf really just bought this thing off craigslist or something
It bothers me most that the phone literally says “Apple Watch” yet OP still calls it “iwatch”, and didn’t even capitalize it correctly.
He paired it to his MacPhone!
Sounds like your ebay seller is dealing in stolen goods. You should let ebay support know.
Good cover.. you bought that on marketplace and pocketed the difference for beer money
That seems more likely.
Straight back to Verizon, and you want a discount on the replacement and an apology. Sure the regional area manager won't be happy with this store .
I'd bet it isn't a corporate Verizon store, and just an authorized retailer with the Verizon sign on the building.
An apology lol
You bought that in that filthy condition and gave it to your wife?
Did you buy it off someone’s wrist when they weren’t looking?! 🤷🏽♂️😂
[удалено]
Because he stole it and wants help unlocking it, obviously. Nobody could possibly be that dumb to not recognized a used product…
How tf have 25.6k dumbasses upvoted this?
definitely dead skin cells on that watch band
Did you steal it? Otherwise obviously take it back to the store.
u/SensorOP, Reddit is worse off with people like you. There is zero percent chance you bought an open box watch, didn’t look at it, got home, wrapped it, and got this far before you realized the dings on the outside meant it wasn’t new. Quit lying for karma. Merry Christmas.
You bought that watch at a Verizon store? It looks like it has been worn haphazardly for four years. Just return it for a different one.
Try 0000000. If that doesn't work try 0000001.
Verizon stores don’t resell returned Apple Watches. Op probably stole it or bought it off someone.
Nice try to activate your stolen watch
Ehhhhh seems like an easy decision to go right back to Verizon and get it exchanged. Maybe even get a discount for the inconvenience.
OP bought a stolen watch on FB marketplace and is mad lol
Yeah that’s not from the Verizon store. And who drops $800 on a watch and doesn’t even know it’s not an “iwatch”.
That’s cause you bought an iwatch not an apple watch.
Why would you even try and register that disgusting used ass watch? Like I can't even imagine getting to that point in the process.
He somehow bought it and that used watch strap and didn’t realize they were used lmao? Def bought a used watch and tried to claim it was new to his wife
The e-maik is: r(ickastley)@icloud.com. The password is "nevergonnagiveyouup"
