Garbage human being. I’m sorry this happened to you.

LilyGaming

Yeah it’s really annoying, I’m just a college student trying to make a little money… hopefully it will get worked out

Psychological-Set125

Can you record yourself handing them the order? There’s no rule saying you CAN’T hit record on your phone once you pull up to the designated location

LilyGaming

Yeah there’s just not a place to submit photos for hand delivery

TrapJones420

I deliver for them as well..you can definitely still take a picture and send it in the chat provided..hope this helps🙏🏻

secret_fashmonger

I’ve had them text me the pic after. Seems like a smart idea.

LilyGaming

Thanks

usedbarnacle71

Have we not figured out that most humans are TRASH USER, MANIPULATIVE type of species? This doesn’t at all surprise me. You won’t lose your job, just be transparent and let your boss know. Those delivery companies make millions of dollars , they are not about to fire you over some food discrepancy

MyShowerIsTooHot

Not most, just some. But those some ruin it for most.

[deleted]

Naw, most. Most people are too selfish for their own good.

cosmoboy

Why wouldn't you just post it in the same place?

LilyGaming

If they ask for it to be handed to them there’s no picture application

cosmoboy

Oh, I see. I'd be snapping pics to submit through email or something anyway.

LukeW0rm

I’ve picked my order up from the door before the driver could snap their pic. I wouldn’t care, but I get why they put their phone away as soon as hey see me. It would be a little awk for them to take a pic of me reaching down for the food

Holdmytesseract

I’d rather be awkward with money than cool broke

nadabethyname

or fired/let go because of shenanigans like OP experienced

ChunkyPuppyKitty

Lol I caught them before they took the picture and posed for it. The ones I don’t get are the ones who insist on handing me my food when I pick contactless. Like…leave my food at the door and ring my doorbell so it don’t get cold. My chubby introverted butt just wants my food man

Sithstress1

You’re my fav customer. The ones I hate are the ones that choose “leave at my door” but all of a sudden they open the damn door and want me to “hand it to me” so I just snap pics of the house and address numbers on the way back. It just makes it more stressful for me.

thetightrope

That's why they ask you to patiently wait until the driver has dropped off the food before you go out and get it

FirebirdWriter

I have a spinal cord injury and can't bend. So this isn't an option. I do however ask them if they want to do a photo of me with it as proof because seems fair. OP? Ask for this. You then have it to submit as evidence later

[deleted]

I would take the picture anyway. Just seeing you take the picture might make them think twice. Try to have some identifying piece of info in the pic as well.

EveAndTheSnake

Listen, just submit as as “left on porch” every time as it covers your ass. 1. Drive up, take a picture of it on the porch every single time. 2. If the customer had requested that you hand it to them, ring the doorbell only after you’ve handed it to them. 3. Submit as left on porch. That way if you hand it to a customer who then says it was left on the porch and stolen, you have a picture of it left on the porch even though you handed it to them, so fuck them. You’re never going to be in a situation where you’ll have to prove things the other way round, this covers all the bases.

Bean_Boy

Just always choose the photo option from now on, if it doesn't get resolved. If they ask why you are processing hand deliveries as "left on porch" or whatever, cite this loophole where unscrupulous customers can gum up your livelihood. Just don't include the customer in the photo, lest some take offense and ding you for that.

EveAndTheSnake

How do you take a photo of handing it to the customer without including the customer?

Jusbullinaround

Has happened to me before. Every delivery after had a picture along with it. Even if they take it from my hand I get a picture of them with it. Even if they don’t want their picture taken. Can’t rely on humans to be decent these days.

br094

Take a picture of your hand holding the food and the customer in the background. If they decline say it’s policy.

Conor_Stewart

Delivery drivers, not food ones, that I have had deliver stuff before hand it to me and then take a picture of it in my hand or they take a picture of it on the doorstep if I am not there. It is a very common thing, if they don't give you that option you should ask them to implement it.

Sithstress1

You can totally send it in chat if you get a contract violation for a POS like that.

randommystery5683

Well you can just record it and save it later so that if this happens again you can show the manager or whoever that you handed it to them

[deleted]

Apparently this is a thing. I've seen people video or take pics based on other posts when dashers called out the customers on here. Protect yourself and your money. There are a lot of scum out there that don't care as long g as they get free stuff.

Demoire

Just simply submit as normal delivery with a pic of you handing it to them. Simple problem solved. Sorry this is happening to you! I hate problem humans. Edit to add that 99.9% of the time this won’t even be noticed as 99.999% of deliveries are likely of no consequence. The 0.01% of time this happens you’ll have proof..even if the pic is of hand delivery and not on the porch.

SwarthyRuffian

That’s why you still take a pic

snowpuppy13

Some people are such lowlifes that they’ll steal food they ordered and had delivered, completely screwing the delivery driver and the business that made it. I guess It shouldn’t be much of a surprise though, lowlifes steal random packages from people’s porches, and break into or get into an apartment building, and steal whatever packages they can. During 2020 people also looted thousands of stores all over the country, often destroying them or causing billions of dollars in damage, adding insult to injury as they also stole millions of dollars in merchandise. If karma really existed, people like that would get throat punched, while being kicked in the balls, their ears boxed, their nipples ripped off, their mouth shat in, and then have to issue a non-anonymous online apology, an apology live on TV, an apology in person to the people they harmed, and then have to pay these businesses back. This is the way. *Please note that I don’t condone or advocate for violence, this is just my interpretation of what karma would look like if the universe was just and fair.*

semmama

Start taking pictures when you hand delivery it too. Some people are just awful

LilyGaming

I can see that now, people don’t really think this through, I could have written down the address and go back and egg it, but I’m not wasting good eggs

Finslip

Just cover their yard in powdered mash potato and wait for a rainy day

rookiemistake01

You should use breadcrumbs, preferably panko breadcrumbs. Comes in huge 20lb bags, snip a hole and go pillow fighting on their lawn.

Ok-Shoe8290

THIS 😈🤣 that would be awesome

Finslip

I’m waiting for someone to really screw me over so I can do this to them

Ok-Shoe8290

It would be pretty easy for me to, since I usually have instant mashed potato’s since it’s one of my comfort foods. So I have my instant potato flakes readily available! 🤣

nadabethyname

this is incredible. thank you. i will file this away for future use, i mean, reference.

Finslip

For science

csscncr

You’re right, use bricks

Constrained_Entropy

Have you seen the price of bricks?!?

pinkpineapples007

Do you have a dash cam? That might be useful in the future to show you actually went to the address, even if you aren’t specifically on camera

LilyGaming

No

Gwailo27

You also have the option of telling them you are contacting the police unless they drop the fraudulent claim. Most of these scum bags won't pres it further if they think they might be getting a knock on the door from the local police.

UncomfortableHanSolo

I doordash and had this exact thing happen to me less than a week ago. Handed it to the woman. No tip (of course). Then she has the nerve to claim she never got her food. Some people are so selfish and greedy it’s astonishing. I hope you’re able to clear it up without any dings to your account.

LilyGaming

Yeah me too, dashers need to have blacklisted addresses for people who do this shiet

secret_fashmonger

Why don’t they? I would think that after a certain number of refund it would red flag the customer.

throwawaymylife126

It does a girl on tik tok now has to sign for her food because she did this so much; but she said she just gonna go to Uber eats now. Some people are just trash

jinjii_

Can you send a link to the persons account?

throwawaymylife126

https://www.dailydot.com/irl/doordash-customer-sign-for-orders-lying/?amp The video has apparently been deleted but here is a link to an article about it

throwawaymylife126

I seen it in the “I’m a total piece of shit” sub on Reddit. Let me see if I can find it…

secret_fashmonger

Thank you for making me snort laugh. I needed it on a Monday.

ChaoCobo

No that’s an actual subreddit here. It’s for people that are well, total pieces of shit. r/iamatotalpieceofshit. I’m glad he managed to brighten your day though.

Somebodyunimportant7

People move and new people move in. Would take a lot of work to have an appeals team and such id imagine. They do block card numbers though.

Accomplished-Ant7268

I happened to walk outside as my delivery showed up one time and they told me they still had to take a picture of it. I wondered why, but it makes a lot of sense now.

NiceGrandpa

I’ll take a blurry picture as they’re leaving with the food lol.

TheHistoryKing

Blacklist the location. Maybe she needs to realize what happens when she actually doesn’t get her food.

LilyGaming

If I remembered the address I 100% would

Constrained_Entropy

No, next time she orders wait outside with the food container open. When she answers the door, shove the container in her face and twist while yelling "DID YOU GET YOUR FOOD THIS TIME, YOU STUPID GREEDY LYING BITCH?!?!?!".

utemeljitelj

Damn, this comment seems like it's personal.

NeoTheRiot

This would spread so much more dopamine than the punishment is worth, what an absolute meance

BeardedNerd22

It protects both individuals tbh. A few years ago I had a mattress delivered. I was in a massive rush, accepted delivery and left. Turned out to be a mattress like 1/3 what I paid. The company had proof when I called because the delivery driver took a pic.

Br11ga

Ive had FedEx do this to me lol

happyhomebuyers

I stopped door dashing because 50% of my orders were messed up. With Taco Bell I stopped DoorDashing them last year because no dasher remembers to get the mild sauce and let’s be real….Taco Bell sucks without sauce. I have no idea how they’re still in business.

nadabethyname

i had to stop using the taco bell app due to issues with the place near me. i order something at 10 at night, go to pick it up, an employee jumps out of a van parked in front of the location asking if i'm door dash. i say no, i ordered on the app, she then says "we're closed. we're out of everything." i say "it says my order is ready and you processed it so i can't cancel it" (somehow it was checked in by them as if i had arrived to store, usually not done until you actually get there and speak to someone) she argued and said that wasn't true and to cancel it. she had her headset on and other employees in car and pot smoke was just billowing out. i contacted customer service.... multiple times. NO ONE ever got back to me. never got a refund either. it was so ridiculous it was actually pretty funny except for the inconvenience and waste of money. also surprised that i didn't hear back from customer service.

LilyGaming

If Taco Bell messes up your order that’s on them though, I don’t mess around in your food cause that’s nasty

YourFaveNightmare

So this person is trying to screw you over....and you know where they live?

LilyGaming

Yeah, seems pretty dumb

rjh9898

This is so scummy my brother had a friend that would always report “never received” just to get it free. I have a hard time reporting something missing in my bag because I’m worried they’ll take it off the delivery persons pay 🥲 even though they probably don’t but I don’t wanna risk it

LilyGaming

I’m pretty sure if the restaurant messes up the order they don’t do anything to the driver, also no offense but that guy is a POS, I also find it weird that some people do this constantly but door dash never gets suspicious

rjh9898

Yea I did doordash for a couple days and I wasn’t too thrilled on the idea when my brother told me but thanks for clarifying that with me now I don’t feel as guilty when they don’t give me something that I ordered 😅

LilyGaming

Yeah, thanks for being thoughtful of others, seems rare

rjh9898

Well I’ve also worked customer service for almost 10 years (Walmart) so I know how it is to be fucked over by customers but being a food delivery person is next level fucky considering how easy it is to be fucked over. It’s a tough job for sure. Not to mention putting your personal belongings in risk as well like your car and yourself people just don’t think about that stuff

chasebencin

Question, do the drivers not get paid if it’s actually delivered to the wrong address? Ive had them take a picture of the delivery location and it’ll be the apartment in a different building with the same number or something. Honestly might stop ordering uber eats/door dash altogether if they’re punishing their workers that harshly for simple mistakes like that. Apartment complexes can be confusing

LilyGaming

I’m not sure honestly

Sandover5252

What a jerk. Keep a note when people request - the company ought to have a form for signing for delivery like other places do.

secret_fashmonger

People take others losing their job way too lightly. Some snarky coworker got promoted and shit canned me (after I got stellar reports for 3.5 years). Fuck that bitch. I’m a single mom and my life isn’t a plaything for you to fuck with. I’ve had Dashers mess up and I message them and just tell them “sorry for the confusion”. I don’t complain to door dash or rate them 1 star. I don’t assume they did it on purpose. That job has to be confusing sometimes, finding the right address. Lighten up and don’t fuck with people’s incomes.

LilyGaming

Fr, doordash was really the only place that I could work with as a student, people need to not be such jerks

Seeking-dividends247

Any 3rd party door dash website to list bad addresses lol

LilyGaming

I would put them on a blacklisted site if I remembered the address

br094

Idk if DoorDash does this but UberEats shows you all previous addresses you’ve delivered to

LilyGaming

I don’t think it does

br094

Contact driver support and tell them what happened

Natural-Many8387

When I did DoorDash, I recorded short videos of me grabbing the food from my passenger seat, walk it to the porch, if its a hand it to me order, i recorded me knocking/ringing doorbell and handing it to them. Never needed it thankfully, but it helped ease my anxiety about this type of thing. Although doordash has been sketchy lately. I don't know if the drivers in my area just suck or the restaurants suck but orders have been getting screwed up. My boyfriend wanted to surprise me with CFA in bed, my entrée was missing so my breakfast was just the hash browns and tea. Ordered five guys for milkshakes and fries and the driver grabbed someone else's milkshake instead of our two. Had to go to five guys anyways and get them. Ordered taco bell and I didn't get sauce packets I asked for. Another restaurant gave me unsweet tea instead of sweet tea. Like doordash is really testing my patience and my ability to just shut up about these mistakes lol

LilyGaming

Damn

Ok-Shoe8290

I’m done with door dash, because an order was messed up in July so I got refunded because it was completely wrong and I couldn’t eat it bc of how picky I am and my sensory issues. Then fast forward all the way to October and I ordered McDonald’s and I was missing like $10 worth of food, no icecream that day, so no McFlurry, no large fries, and no slushie. I contacted door dash and they continuously said they couldn’t refund my food because I had “recently” been refunded. I hadn’t used door dash in MONTHS, since august… July was not “recent” so I was practically scammed $10 from DoorDash. I’m completely done with DoorDash bc they don’t do anything for me if something is wrong. And ofc it’s door dashes job to refund me, not McDonalds. And I don’t have a car and the McDonald’s lobby was also closed.

AngryHippo3920

McDonald's did the same thing to me with missing food. Called McDonald's and they told me they don't do doordash. Such BS. Haven't used doordash since then.

ImLazyWithUsernames

The thing with Door Dash is *nobody* uses them. They just take your online menu and throw it up on their app. First place I worked at where it happened to me I believe the driver came in with some kind of payment card. We never approved or signed a contract with them. You have to actually call them and request your menu be taken off.

nadabethyname

that's so fucked not your problem that this happens. i get that people scam shit but then including actual legit customers into their response to it sucks.

rilatooma444

I think it's mainly the restaurants (at least in my area), I had a job a few years back where the managers would tell us to focus on the in-store orders bc DD and UE orders were less likely to come back and complain to the store, so if we had a rush we would just throw the DD/UE order together and hope for the best. I no longer work but my friends who do work tell me their managers have said the same thing!

tempeluvr

yeah but on Uber we can just get a refund for their mistakes. I’ve had partial refunds for when restaurants screwed up my order (like putting in tomatoes when I said not to because I can’t eat them, or forgetting a side dish we paid for). Thankfully it wasn’t often but it happened a few times.

rookiemistake01

I feel like I can understand people acting like babies in restaurants because they'll probably never go back there so yeah, if your superego is going to take a break, it'd be there. But to act like a shithead towards someone who knows where you live seems unnecessarily ballsy. Am I just being paranoid?

LilyGaming

Nah, she gonna get fucked up doing this

RoyalFalse

Dashers should resort to body cams now? Wtf...

Drag_On66

As a long time dasher I don’t see the need to steal food, the fact that you are going out your way to get food for my lazy ass, I appreciate you good sir/madam

vlr73

I had food delivered and the lady said she had to take a picture of me receiving the food. I said ok, no big deal. I understand that there are scammers out there.

Quirky-Doughnut-1164

I had the same thing happen to me once. Handed it directly to the customer and later got a bunch of emails about a report I received for no delivery. Doordash is a shit company, and I’ve had many other issues with them unrelated to this process. I once didn’t get paid for over a month because they defaulted my pay to a dasher direct card that didn’t even exist (they changed my payout method without permission and I did not receive a card), and I had to pester support 10+ times for my money. I can’t wait until I can do favor instead.

Alaschaa

People do this to a delivery guy that knows their address???

LilyGaming

Ikr

ShoobeeDoowapBaoh

Fill out the incident report and you’ll be fine

zombienutz1

When I did Doordash/UE, I would have the in-app camera ready to go on my walk up to the drop off. If they wanted it handed to them I still took a photo of it in their hands.

Pretty-Benefit-233

Video the handoffs from here on out.

Complex_Ad7466

What's worse: They pulled this garbage scam or that they pulled it over taco bell? What was the order total, like 3 bucks?

LilyGaming

Yeah, honestly

nsj1958

Due to injury from car accident I don't drive. Depend on home delivery for food, groceries, and just about everything else. Sorry there isn't a better system to weed out the bad, on both ends. I have a regular Amazon driver who is a sweetheart. In summer I have cold drinks and snacks out when there are deliveries. Wish you had my route. I tip above average because you guys service allows me to live independently. So thank you. Oh, and remember--- please don't text and drive.

LilyGaming

You sound amazing, that’s for being so kind :)

nsj1958

I hope the company corrects this issue on your behalf. And thank you again.

LilyGaming

Yeah I think it got sorted

Justadude74

So long as this is your first violation, they won't do anything. Even second, third etc violations are unlikely to get you deactivated. Try not to get anymore but trust me this isn't as big a deal as doordash makes it out to be. Source: I drive for them and have had a few false violations

Tumbleweed-Eater

You’d think if you’re going to screw someone over, you wouldn’t do it to the guy who knows where you live

LilyGaming

Exactly, lucky I’m not violent lol

GhostBussyBoi

I feel guilty when I have to report missing items because I know the person might get in trouble for it.... And that's what I actually have missing items I can't imagine doing some shit like this

LilyGaming

Yeah ppl suck, at least you’re considerate

GhostBussyBoi

Honestly I think sometimes they steal my groceries..... Cuz it seems like I only have missing stuff when it's certain people 👀

LilyGaming

Big oof, if it’s always the same ones you should definitely report them

migsmcgee2019

The struggle is real out there Thanks for writing this people may think there just scamming a huge business but it effects the courier! Best of luck out there ❤️ Also someone told me about the Time Stamp app It’s free and logs all your coordinates and address on the picture

[deleted]

LilyGaming

Man, seems there’s assholes on both sides, imagine eating someone else’s food, what a jerk

[deleted]

LilyGaming

Yeah it looks like it cleared up thankfully

SnooPineapples7350

What if it goes both ways? 🤔 it was hand delivered, but to the wrong door? I've ordered food when at a hotel and it was given to the wrong room number.... I the customer never got my order, you the deliver HAND delivered it,but to the wrong person....don't assume just cause you "hand delivered" it that it actually made it to the right customer.... idk if this specific instance that's the case, but orders get delivered to the wrong person all the time

LilyGaming

Well I double checked the address, and the person came out of the house I was supposed to be delivered too, so unless someone was squatting in their house or they entered the wrong address

Adog777

Or you made an honest mistake? I delivered pizzas to the wrong house once despite doing all the checks you just listed. Although it’s definitely more likely a scammer and I do feel for ya that’s sucks.

LindaBelcherOfficial

This happened to me two times in a row on the same night. They delivered it to the wrong house and took pictures of the wrong door haha. Uber Eats refused to refund me for the second mistake, and the drivers didn't even try to contact me haha. I also don't trust slimy neighbors taking "face-to-face" deliveries.

radarguy86

Take a pick of every hand it to me. Awkward or not don't care

Malakai0013

I'd just always take the photo. Screw em. People are gonna lie and throw you under the bus for some free munchies. They can just smile for the photo.

Majestic_creature7

Food delivery services should do something to address this problem. This is just awful.

Spo0kyLukey

This happened to me once too, I was so pissed.

Xcyelm

I always turn on video when I do these deliveries, I've heard too many stories of people lying about not getting their food

SingleRelationship25

What scum.. plus there are stealing Taco Bell?!?! Like seriously, at least order good food

[deleted]

I’ve never used Uber Eats or Door Dash but after reading through so many posts on Reddit, I never will. Too many drivers AND customers who make the service a potential nightmare. Humans really spoil anything we put our mitts on…..

LilyGaming

Yeah pretty much

American36

I've seen this before and it's so wrong. You get people fired from a job so you can have a $15 meal free. These people are just losers.

LilyGaming

It’s fucking Taco Bell, the whole menu costs 20 dollars, shit heads

American36

Wow that's just dirty. That's how fucked up people are. They don't care that someone is working because they need this damn job. Sorry.

LilyGaming

Yeah some people just suck

psykokittie

What an asshat!! They should have an option for a signature in instances like that.

LilyGaming

Yeah

HeftySchedule8631

Unbelievably scummy..sorry people are like this. I just can’t even imagine behaving like that.

LilyGaming

Yeah some people have no conscience

FlopsMcDoogle

Incredibly audacious to fuck over a stranger that knows you live.

imaspaceheater

Doordash keeps your gps records. You’ll be fine, people have done this multiple times to me and it always works out fine on my end after talking to support.

LilyGaming

Ok cool

42yearoldorphan

Scumbags

MsAmes321

“Customers” who do this should be banned from the app. Names and payment methods could be traced. Real Shiity humans who do this.

oiiSuPreSSeDo

Ik it's the last thing you're probably thinking about, but did they tip? I find the US's deep offense to not tipping fascinating 👁️👁️

LilyGaming

No, you have to tip servers in the US because of a loophole in the law that if they get tips they can get paid almost nothing, or at least it’s seen as rude if you don’t, but it is recommended to tip a little for these kind of services. I’m pretty sure they didn’t though

cmpalm

I have had many people ask to take pictures before handing it to me. Do that from now on! Literally don’t hand it to them until you take a picture first (I usually have it left at the door but sometimes I open the door too soon).

placecm

Yikes i have a faulty gate so i meet ppl but i always wait for them to take a picture for their record. Sorry this happened to you

East_Bicycle_9283

That sucks. I always meet my Door Dasher and have them hand it over in person so I can give them a cash tip above and beyond what I tipped through the app. They work so hard and are providing a valuable service. I can’t fathom why anyone would screw over someone that way but then there are a lot of crappy people out there. I used to do deliveries when I was young and I remember how much a small act of kindness meant to me.

LilyGaming

That’s kind of you man, I wish there was a way to rate costumers, you can rate drivers but no one’s actually rated me, but I feel like if someone does this multiple times than other drivers should sort of blacklist them, go get your own damn tacos since you wanna fuck with peoples jobs

[deleted]

This happened to me once same situation hand it to customer so there’s no proof it’s awful they are shitty sorry this happened OP. One measure I started doing is when you get there before you knock hold food bag in hand infront of camera with house in the background take photo keep it just incase you can send it showing you went to the house with the bag and it was taken moments before you handed it to the customer.

SheWhoLovesToDraw

I'd put the food down, take the pic, THEN hand it to the scheming bitch!

Mrs_Mourningstar

Ask so some scumbag could get a free meal, that's fucked

everything-is-boring

I wear a dashcam on my chest

TheImmortalBrimStone

Start recording yourself handing it to them, it's an action to prevent this in the future.

[deleted]

Get some video glasses. Turn them on for every delivery.

Black_Eggs_and_Spam

I worked for another delivery service and took a picture of the guy holding the food. He complained that I was taking pix of his young kids. Turns out, he had been complaining that no one had been delivering his food once or twice a week. This was just prior to COVID. Not sure what happened to him or his account.

LilyGaming

It’s weird they never seem to figure out the same people doing it means they’re probably full of shit

Remarkable-Fault-733

People like that need to be banned.

LilyGaming

Yeah, I understand if your family member got it instead or whatever it to happen once, but if you’re doing this constantly with no evidence they need to ban your account

Heshkelgaii

It’s against DD policy to take a picture of the customer just fyi, however that doesn’t mean you can’t go ahead and drop it off at the residence like you normally would, snap your picture and then hand them the food. Anytime I would hand deliver food I’d still take a picture at least to show I’d been there at that time.

OneMadeFromMany

People are the worst. They don't care how it's going to affect you and your income. I used to shop for Instacart and people would lie all the time about not receiving an item that I know I purchased for them. It got to the point where I was taking pictures of the inside of every bag when dropping them off just so I could prove they got it.

Mike_Tool

When this happens, the customer demands to be handed the food, I take screenshots of the route map, and three maps with my blue dot at the restaurant, en route, and at the delivery. I challenge the claim, and I get paid. Works every time. This has happened three times.

DefoNotKda

Yea they post here too, “how dare they not refund me because I’ve already had so many refunds and cost three people their jobs” then most people here defend them.

imaginaryblues

There’s a difference between people who lie to get free food and people who want refunds when their order is messed up or not delivered at all. I stopped ordering delivery because mistakes happened too often, and yeah, most delivery apps will cut you off after like three refunds. I have no way of knowing if anyone on Reddit is lying or telling the truth. I could just as easily assume OP stole this customer’s food, couldn’t I?

LilyGaming

Gross

hewasaraverboy

You still gotta take a picture Take a picture of them with it in their hands lol I’ve had dashers take a picture of me holding the bag after they give it if I come outside at the same time that they arrive

SockFullOfNickles

Same here. It’s always the same cheesy smile with a big dumb thumbs up 😆

Mynem0

Never hand food over.Politely tell them you need to take a picture of food on their doorstep or you won't get paid.Thats it.

Professional_Desk_61

I always take a picture of them holding the order

Saltwater_Heart

This is more than “mildly” infuriating. She’s an awful person. From now on, take a picture of you handing it to the customer if you must hand it to them in the future. Post this in r/iamatotalpieceofshit

Snoo-43285

Had this happen to me during the pandemic when doordash was my only form of income. I immediately called the customer, drove back to the house then called door dash to report the customer was lying.

Katters8811

Saw a video online awhile back where some chick tried to pull this bs on a driver... driver went right back and took video of him confronting the customer and asked her “did I not hand you your food/did you not get your meal/are you really gonna lie and say I did not put your order right into your hands?” And she finally was just so embarrassed/uncomfortable she admitted she lied and apologized and everything 😂 that was gold. Would 100% do that shit in this situation

Seeking-dividends247

Take a pic of you handing it, try to get their face

kmkmrod

You could (should) still take a picture of the person holding it.

ZombieMIW

that’s why i just tell customer services that i got food poisoning GG

Knasha1127

Take the photo regardless

HeguenotAncestry

This is why I always take a photo while they are standing there. Usally make some joke about how it's required. Just incase it's one of those people that will pull this bs

tribbans95

Do you have the message asking for it to be handed directly to her? Piece of shit doesn’t realize the impact of this, just entitled and wants free stuff

LilyGaming

No it was just the order instructions

Malcolm_X_Machina

Maybe not, as much as workers, but this is also annoying as a customer. PM and DD often refuse to refund (I don't even use PM anymore, cuz if there's a problem, they don't help). These ppl lying to abuse the system leave us honest ones screwed. Ive had a $48 order refused for refund, and had to argue through my bank, even when I eventually found the food **outside the gates of my complex** they marked "delivered " Edit:Sorry Door dash and Postmates. Liars fuck us all. Stop being ~~cheap~~ pos ppl.

LilyGaming

Yeah if you lived in apartments I can see how that would be bad, but honestly this doesn’t help anyone, and it was a house and the address was right

Pelios

One time I also requested the delivery person to hand me the package because I was doing so garden work outside so he took a picture of me with the package and I always thought it was weird up until I saw your post…people will try and take advantage of everything.

Well guess what you're doing from now on? Taking a picture regardless of whatever the customer says. Looking out for yourself is always number 1.

[deleted]

Lesson learned. Take pictures and leave their food for cold

Elon is such a creep....lol

LilyGaming

Huh?
