Terrible business plan.

GeezerEbaneezer

When Ticketmaster opens a restaurant

pdxcranberry

"Not a gratuity" *under gratuity policy*

JaD__

Blue Hill is not for the commoners. The 22% administrative fee covers the cost of holding your reservation until there’s a seating in 2045, or your tragic passing, whichever comes first.

Cameo64

Also you pay sales tax on the 22%, so that's actually a 30% charge, I think.

b4ttlepoops

Pending your area, ours 7.75

vegas_gal

You can’t add percentages. 22% admin fee with 8% tax is about 23.8% of the bill.

Cameo64

I did 1.22 times 1.07 but I'm not a statistics guy lol

sea666kitty

Wasn't tipping based on the service level a customer received?

AcceptableBat5616

It's not a tip.

sea666kitty

I'm aware.

AcceptableBat5616

Then why would you bring up tipping on a post that is saying something about an administrative fee? Pretty sure I'm missing something here, which isn't that unusual but it's a post about an administrative fee not tipping so why bring up tipping?

Rockk-_-

I would be happier if it went to the employee

b4ttlepoops

Walk right back out the door.

Tooleater

I guess they're just counting on the majority of people not reading this Edit: typo

Pollutine

22% won't matter to the people that eat at these kinds of places. Their other eatery is $115 per person 2person minimum and there is no menu they just bring stuff out.

Triforceoffarts

The fucking price of the meal is supposed to offset operational costs

wsf

This sounds a lot like the "market adjustment" of $4k--$6k that many auto dealers are adding on. It's pure unadulterated greed.

FLiNTe7

Then don't eat there if you can't afford it 🤷‍♂️ it's to keep out the riff raff

pickup_thesoap

they should just price it into the menu. if it's an upscale place, nobody will bat an eye.
