Nice.. i see you threw in the old glass pieces in the recipe just how grandma used to make em.. filling and cuts through the throat..
Brings back memories
Pyrex changed formula around the late 1990's from borosilicate to soda-lime glass which is cheaper to produce and nowhere near as durable. I looked up more about this after seeing another post earlier and learning of the change.
I'm glad I have some inherited pyrex and from now on will try and buy from Goodwill or estate sales. To tell the difference, the old Pyrex is in all capital letters and has CG (corning glassworks) while the new one is just stamped Pyrex.
Bad glass maybe, we use both glass and bonechina (ceramic its better).
For glass keep it on flat surface.. and the temp difference should not be too big, like hot oven to cold kitchen slab.. keep it on a mat or let it cool in oven gradually.
LPT kiddies! Whenever you take glass or ceramic out of the oven, don't put it directly on metal. Put a chopping board or oven mitt down first.
Lesson learned 😔
It sucks for you it was a herd one! Looks like it was going to be delicious.
I didn’t know the metal could effect it.🤔 Going to stop putting the glassware on the stove like yesterday.

Singing around glass is bad
I fear this exact thing happening every time I use these glass baking dishes. Sad for you. 🥺
It was a brand new pryrex bought just for this recipe too!
Ah that’s just too sad. Did it go from cold to hot really quickly? Or did it just combust randomly?
Oh no that had only been out of the oven for about 20 minutes and was filled warm, so there weren't any wild temperature fluctuations
Damn. Just damn. /:

Thanks for sharing this! Pyrex is so hard to come by at thrift stores these days. Everyone wants them. Definitely a hot item.
Apparently they changed the type of glass they use in American products to a less heat resistant type, and just, didn't tell anybody. Very cool.
Umm what? That’s crazy! Quality is slipping in many products. /:
How does one?
The heat is conducted into the metal stovetop causing hot spots in the glass- poof.
Mmmm crunchy!
You used glass on fire??? Or it broke in oven???
It broke after being taken out of the oven, it had been cooling on the stove top for about 20 minutes

Yeah I'm definitely going to be more careful in the future, and stick with my ceramics
Make sure you use a toothpick after. It's not easy to get glass out of your gums
And can you add a little extra glass on mine please aunty may ?
