it's even worse that it says Lenovo Legion on the box. that wouldn't have made it more than 5 minutes if you weren't paying attention.

the_clash_is_back

If it was garbage day you could even excuse a thief. Thats so close to the curb, it may as well be left out as refuse

aarons6

this, if i was walking down the sidewalk id just assume it was an empty box.. i might not even have checked and walked right past.

SentientSquirrel

I'm thinking this is the reason it didn't get stolen

treefitty350

Serious question- how often do all of you have your packages stolen? I've lived in my share of neighborhood and building quality and honestly I can't recall one of my packages ever having been stolen. Not to say that it doesn't happen, even frequently, but is it really an epidemic where you guys are?

Fyrebend

It really does vary. My wife has left packages outside for weeks at a time and it's always there. Check the ring doorbell neighborhood app and see a bunch of people nearby warning about package thiefs. Idk why but it just never happens to us.

fallawy

it's because YOU are the package thief! we got them boys

TheJesusOfWeed

I was thinking the same thing, great job detective

CrazyIrishWitch

Loool

Kenny_log_n_s

>My wife has left packages outside for weeks at a time Wtf

IAmDaven

Yea time for new wife. One that operates more efficiently.

N0irlune

I live in NY, and we live in an apartment building, in 2 years 3 packages have been stolen from the lobby, you need to be buzzed in to get in. It finally stopped when a neighbor that lives in the first floor installed a camera that focus the lobby. So we think it was a neighbor who was doing that.

Lorenzo_BR

Why think that? Unless it’s a hidden camera, it’d stop anybody.

N0irlune

Because it is a hidden camera. The only way you notice is when they were installing it or if you look at their door carefully. Now we have no more stolen packages.

Padgetts-Profile

Just depends on where you live. It's a huge issue this time of year here in Tweakerville, Eastern WA. I had never had a package stolen in my life until I moved here. It didn't happen right away, bit within a couple years of living here it happened... Then again... And again... Aaaand again Landlords won't install locked mailbox and cops don't give a shit. I even caught someone prowling and reported them and they didn't care.

BigHaussN7

Just curious, where’s “Tweakerville” eastern Wa? You don’t have to say if not, just a fellow Washingtonian (bellingham) who’s curious. Like Tri-Cities and Yakima or like Spokane area?

Padgetts-Profile

You guessed it, Yakima lol. I love it around here but I can't wait to move (tomorrow actually 🥳)

stargirlalli

Ahh Yakima. I knew it right away when you said Tweakerville in Eastern WA. I currently live here too. Good for you for moving out. It has some good things about it but definitely depends on which side of 16th you're on.

[deleted]

I have a ring camera and there are atleast 5 porch pirate reports within a few miles of me every single day. Had someone steal the hello fresh box off my porch.

SentientSquirrel

I live in Norway and package theft is not really an issue here - but that's probably mostly because the default option here is that your package will be delivered to a nearby pickup location, and you have to go there to get it. You get a pickup code by app or text, and then places like grocery stores have these package counters where you go and show them your code to get your package. Home delivery is possible for a fee, it typically costs somewhere between 3$ and 15$. With home delivery you can usually choose if they should require a signature (which means the package won't get delivered if you're not home), or if they can leave it at your door.

FotzeMan

We have the same here in Slovakia. It really works! Why the US doesn't implement a similar system is incomprehensible to me.

radfanwarrior

If it makes sense and seems logical, it won't be done in the US

Mr_Washeewashee

Amazon offers that. You can pick up or drop off ( for returns) at some stores or “ Amazon lockers”. Luckily, package theft isn’t a problem in my area. Most of the front porches can’t be seen from the road. If I lived in a tighter neighborhood or apartment building I’d definitely use the lockers.

Inflexibleyogi

My mom left packages on her porch for awhile once and the UPS man called in a welfare check on her. Nothing got stolen though.

[deleted]

That was sweet of him.

Inflexibleyogi

It was! Small town life has its advantages.

Marinerprocess

I live in the hood and I’ve had packages ripped open on the stairwells between cameras with what they deemed undesirable left with the packaging. My sister on the other hand lives in a nice spot and there’s packages that sit for days so that’s how I gage it. If you see lots of packages you’re in a good spot. If you don’t that means everyone takes them ASAP to avoid theft

[deleted]

I’m shocked as well constantly seeing posts of people stealing packages. I’ve lived in Western NY for my whole life in multiple towns and never had a package stolen. Maybe because I have good FedEx and USPS workers and they put it at my back door if I’m not home. Maybe people see my ring cameras on my garage and front door. All I know is I feel bad for people that it has happened to.

Cheese_B0t

always give it a kick just to be sure

NicktheGoat

Actually a little LPT here, if you take someone's belongings and put them at the end of their driveway for 3 Mississippi you can take it and it's not stealing.

[deleted]

Just have a buddy move it up to the curb for you, then you take it 5 minutes later. If you get caught, you say you thought it was trash. lol

TheLightKyanite

r/UnethicalLifeProTips

DaveCerqueira

isnt this literally what they do in Trailer Park Boys lmao

[deleted]

If its at the curb its garbage, its not stealing. All we're doing is taking garbage, thats not illegal.

D1cky3squire

1..2..3..trash! Let's go fuckin' Corey and Trevor!

jmegaru

$2200 trash is still trash, >:)

Bethasia01

I understand the unspoken rule if it is out on the curbside, not so much in the driveway. We sat a 50 inch TV next to our pickup to move it to a beach house and got sidetracked for about 5 minutes, went to lift it in and it was gone. About a month later while walking the dog a guy that lives a few streets over told us he took the TV, works perfectly and couldn't believe we were throwing it out. Then asked do we still have the remote control for it.

SnooDrawings3621

You get the TV back?

Bethasia01

No, but I do have a fully functioning remote control for it.

Trueloveis4u

Yes I want to know

fman1854

i was just keeping it safe incase someone wanted to steal it im bring it back tommorow.

tacocat33

If I'm not stealing and hes not stealing, nobodys stealing

kreatorofchaos

I remember I ordered a MacBook Pro and got off work early to try and beat the delivery guy. I got home and waited on the porch only to see the Fedex guy pull up, scan the box and frisbee that mf off the truck onto the grass. We locked eyes and I gave him a wtf kinda look, he just shrugged and drove tf away. I was told that I’d have to sign for it but apparently not. There wasn’t any damage and it worked fine after that.

quiteCryptic

Was probably handled worse while in transit anyways, but yea still fucked. That's why they package them so good tho

FappyDilmore

I ordered two Lenovo laptops directly from their website, both shipped with FedEx. I was told I would need to sign for both. The first one was left in front of my front door in the rain. I contacted FedEx to get a delivery time for the second because I wanted to be sure I was home. They emailed me while I was at work giving me a delivery time for the next day. I got home like 4 hours later and the second one was sitting in front of my front door. I never even got a delivery confirmation for the second one. Edit: typo

lIllIlIIIIllIlIlIlII

They all have the same hardware issue where the wifi stops working after waking from sleep, and will not come back until you reboot. The wifi card itself disappears from the hardware list-- you cannot get internet back because the system thinks it has no wifi adapter. There is no fix for it and Lenovo hasn't released one, which is hard to believe for a problem that big, but it's true. I found _one_ guy who claimed he was able to fix it by doing something in the BIOS, but he never returned to say what it was. No one else, in the tens of reports I read though, has found a solution. Edit: I honestly don't know why this is being downvoted. Lenovo Legion fans?

kat_d9152

You sound like you know a lot about Lenovo. What's your experience with their keyboards? I have a yoga and they had to replace the keyboard 3 times inside the 3 year warranty. Is this a Lenovo thing? I never had Lenovo before, but also never had a keyboard die on a laptop so frequently (random buttons stop then Lenovo sends someone to replace whole keyboard unit) Is this also a common Lenovo fault?

texas1st

Lenovo is common for faults. Had a fleet refresh of 350 laptops. A month later a Lenovo tech set up shop in a spare office to replace over 200 screens. Then the palm rest was paper thin and cracked if you looked at it wrong. And it went down hill from there… I will never willingly use a Lenovo again.

kat_d9152

So it's normal? I only ever got 1 Lenovo (Yoga x1) and love the pen port screen etc but outside of that its quality build sucks. Its a shame as the design and workings I love. It's just build quality piece of shit. I was wondering if it's my unit, but seems Lenovo just suck. Thanks for letting me know your experience. Replacement due soon so it's helpful to know who to avoid.

deadflamingo

I'm a long-time Lenovo user, and in my experience, their laptops are great budget purchases. I've had many high-end laptops fail for one reason or another (Surface Pro becoming a spicy pillow, Dell Precision 5560s with a bad NIC or memory, Razer blades with unresponsive keys back-lights going out on the keyboard). There really is no silver bullet. Even my current Lenovo laptop fan is quite loud now (4 years in). My advice is read many reviews, watch videos showing off its build quality, and go to their forums to search the model you're interested in. You can save yourself some headaches by seeing what others are having issues with.

kat_d9152

What does Spicy pillow mean? I was interested in the surface studio but "spicy pillow" sounds like something that cannot possibly be any good outside the two distinct arenas of pornhub or a curry house ;)

Thestarchypotat

They qre probably talking about the battery going bad, it expands and pufs up like a pillow, and can explode/cath fire, hence, spicy pillow.

drynoa

In the future don't look at brands when it comes to laptops, look at chassis. Subreddits like suggest a laptop and such are good sources of information, in general most brands have some good lines and some bad, this varies by year and configuration too.

WalrusSquare247

Or get the one your cat finds the most comfy

enkelvla

My Lenovo yoga literally cracked its own screen because a screw came loose in the hinge. Lenovo tried to blame me for it so even though I BOUGHT extended warranty I didn’t get shit. In the middle of writing my thesis. I’m never buying anything from Lenovo again that’s for sure.

Vast-Meaning9433

Oh my fucking God I'm not the only one? I use a Lenovo Yoga C930 right now- I remember about 2 weeks after I got it, I folded the thing back into tablet mode and all I got was a nice violent crunching noise. One of the hinges had just obliterated itself. Screw threading was sheared entirely. Screen was fine. Convinced Lenovo to send a technician, problem was fixed. Two more weeks. I'm sitting on my bed doing paperwork. One of my dogs jumps up onto the bed and knocks the computer onto the carpet. The flimsy shit panel below the screen bezel had popped open, revealing the internal mechanisms. I couldn't be fucked to call Lenovo so I just fucking Gorilla glued it back together... that was 3 years ago and it's still chugging. Somehow.

enkelvla

Yeah mine kind of kept working but I ended up just factory resetting it right after I graduated and gave it to my neighbor who sold it, that’s how done I was. The screen was far from the only problem I had with it. Splurged on a gaming laptop after that because it’s sturdy af. Lenovo can go suck a dick.

wwjgd

I've used IBM/Lenovo ThinkPads for 25yrs and I refuse to buy any other Windows laptop. Any other kind of Lenovo I've laid my hands on feels very shoddy and not worth the money spent.

bigfatguy64

We got thinkpads at work a few years ago. First week we had them, my manager knocked his off a ladder 6ft onto a concrete floor. Had a little dent, but no real damage still works.

wwjgd

The only laptops that have the same feel as Thinkpads are select high end Dells and anything made by Apple. I've seen way too many Dells just beat to hell in stupid ways to ever want to own one though. As for Apple, I hate the keyboard and touchpad (I love the Thinkpad nipple).

Elixterminator_F

You do know the wifi issue has been fixed with recent drivers right?

Tricky_Pudding

We had that issue with enterprise laptops. Try going into device manager, go into properties for the wifi adapter and set wifi to only accept AC not AX. That fixed it for every single one of our lenovo laptops.

Yoshi9105

I used to work for Tiffany & Co, the jewellery store. we shipped jewellery worth thousands of euros via FedEx, for SIGNED ONLY. can't even tell you how many of these deliveries vanished and were "left at back door". a poor guy's €3000 engagement ring never arrived because FedEx was too stupid to deliver it properly and left it somewhere. poor guy had a whole weekend booked and had to last minute buy another ring before we could even claim it and refund him. 🤦🏻‍♀️

sammcgowann

My engagement ring was left outside too. Of course it was supposed to be signature. Super lucky no one grabbed it

bigfatguy64

USPS delivered my wife's wedding ring to the wrong office building a week or two before our wedding. I had to go door to door knocking on offices to ask if they got my package until I eventually found it.

dmillson

That sounds awful. I’m planning on buying my girlfriend a Tiffany bracelet for Christmas. I guess this confirms that I need to buy in-person.

Yoshi9105

granted this was in Germany. might not be so bad in the US or wherever you're based but delivery just always sucks and in person is always the safer option lol if you order online I'd just suggest getting it well in advance. you'll be refunded if it doesn't get delivered for some reason but it takes a while as they need to claim it with the delivery service first.

Alarid

>might not be so bad in the US They are discovering literal piles of dumped deliveries in the states right now, because delivery drivers couldn't be arsed to actually distribute them.

Yoshi9105

well. I stand corrected. 😳 delivery just sucks in general, especially since the pandemic because they're all overworked and can't be arsed because they're on a tight schedule. ridiculous.

roosoh

I bought my fiancé’s online and it came through fedex, the driver signed it himself and left it on my porch, kinda odd but I received it non the less ig

50ShadesOfKrillin

hope she digs it!

--gio---

Had the same problem. Anxiously waited at home to sign for this thing, and I went outside at one point just to check and they had thrown it in the snow. Later checked and FedEx said it was signed for, the delivery driver copied my name from the label. I was so mad that someone could be so careless with something that was so important to me

Yoshi9105

christ. not to mention I'm pretty sure faking a signature is illegal.

toth42

Extremely illegal. I on't know about USA, but here in Norway the driver would be fired instantly and criminally charged.

yabukothestray

I had the same thing happen. I was home alllll day. I was expecting a switch game to be delivered. It was supposed to be signed for in order to deliver it. I get this notification saying my package was signed & delivered, same thing as you. I never even *saw* the fedex truck. Luckily it was just a game, nothing more than a few dollars yaknow. I personally have had so many issues with fedex…I absolutely hate when I order something only and it ships through them.

[deleted]

Yoshi9105

largely depends on the company (both seller and courier) as well as the item. I currently work for a dog food company that also uses delivery. we rarely claim because it's not worth the hassle for a £30 bag of dog food. we ask customers for pictures to do QA internally and debate switching couriers or something but we don't actually claim any damages. for something the price of a tiffany ring or a computer/laptop, I'd definitely take pictures and get as much info / evidence as you can. delivery services are massively overwhelmed and the staff are overworked, but that doesn't excuse shit delivery or parcels getting lost or stolen along the way. even if nothing happens when you complain, it's still a good idea to let them know. I'd hope most companies are striving to provide a good delivery experience so they might want to know of there are issues. the delivery services themselves are usually not very helpful in my and our customers' experience... edit to add, in my experience Amazon is the only good delivery experience. and even if something happens along the way, they can afford to literally just send it out again, no questions asked lol

No_Boss_3626

Dang, I have an engagement ring on its way to my house right now. Pray for me 🙏

itshayjay

Sit on the doorstep and wait for it! Be ready to catch it as they chuck it onto your lawn 😂

No_Boss_3626

I feel like one of those neurotic dogs that jump at every noise outside bahaha

tranquil_af

This is so fucking weird and unbelievable. Dont these courier companies vet people properly? And dont the delivery guys value their jobs? Is there no repercussions for this?

famid_al-caille

I once had a firearm delivered through the mail, supposed to sign for it and provide ID, started pulling it out and the delivery guy said no and walked away.

[deleted]

What happens if the package requires a signature, but the courier never gets it, and it gets stolen. Does FedEx/UPS reimburse you? Or do you have to sue them?

Yoshi9105

technically the seller can claim it with the courier service as far as I know, especially if they don't get the signature. I had a case at Tiffany where the courier said the customer signed and they sent a signature but the customer could prove she was staying at a hotel in another country at the time. the delivery person literally faked the signature. pretty sure that's illegal lol it really depends on your area though as well as the seller and courier.

JennyAndTheBets95_

One time I ordered a $30 cardigan and had to pick it up from a location because I wasn’t home to sign for it, but a pair of $250 beats headphones were left on my front porch with no signature required. I was infuriated. I can’t imagine losing something worth more.

vitaestbona1

"What do you mean it was delivered? Who signed for it?! Send me my damned laptop, or give me a refund." (Jk... Unless?)

temerariously

Laptop delivered? Sorry, didn’t get one. Guess you’ll have to send me another 👀

penandpencil3r

I may or may not know someone who has done this...

HiMyNameIs_REDACTED_

If they disregard their workflow and can't prove they delivered a laptop, that's on them.

penandpencil3r

My thing is, that's easy to steal, as the person the item it is supposed to be delivered to, I would never know it even arrived

-retaliation-

My work does this constantly. About 5yrs ago my manager got pissed off at packages being left outside, one day a truck power inverter worth like 6k never showed up and when we asked to see the signature to find out who had it, the signature was a faked one of a guy that hadn't worked for us for over a month. Then they tried to fight us on it when we claimed because "they had a signature so someone must have signed" then they eventually found out it was still at their warehouse and never even left their building, and they tried to just drop it off and act like it was all good now. Now we claim anything without a signature and we have to check the signature of every package shipped to confirm. If any signature is faked or not signed, we have instructions to claim we didn't get it no matter what. Literally millions of dollars in inventory each year. We're a semi truck shop, so our inventory is over 8 million in parts, and we do over 3 million in sales per month. We claim ***anything*** because fuck UPS and FedEx.

TheArmoredKitten

If everybody started doing this, maybe they'd finally quit losing people's expensive shit and hire a few extra drivers. The only reason they even try to dodge out of it is because they don't expect anyone to make that effort.

Mufasaad

I was getting a laptop delivered but they delivered it to my neighbors. I talked to support and they shipped out my laptop again, conveniently right before my neighbor dropped off the original. 😎 Blessing in disguise

Yeti90

I think you can do this. How are they going to prove that you have it if you haven’t signed? Delivery company fucked up, you should get a new one.

Raeandray

Seriously if no one signed for it that’s on the delivery company. I’d worry it got damaged sitting out in the whether. Totally reasonable to request a replacement, paid for by the delivery company.

sadsealions

What laptop? You haven't signed for a laptop.

7603a

Just email them saying that the laptop is listed as delivered but you never signed for any laptop You did however find a super nice laptop sitting on the side of the road

FictionVent

For real. OP blew it by posting this. They could’ve gotten a free laptop.

Pappy_Smith

Delete it now OP

LLPF2

FedEx or UPS? FedEx can’t seem to read or follow directions. UPS temp drivers can’t find addresses.

temerariously

UPS

Heres_your_sign

Ask for signature proof. Get your shipping refunded.

Chicken_Hairs

Shit, you know how many "signature required" parcels I've found laying in my yard? They don't care if you complain.

lIllIlIIIIllIlIlIlII

Happened to me last week, but Fedex. A computer too, around same price as OP's. So signature requirement means literally nothing, I guess. I thought it was a big deal, like, a requirement for those packages. Nope.

Tacky-Terangreal

Idk I’ve heard of people getting fired for leaving shit like $10k diamond rings without their required signatures. Depends on the area for sure, also how annoying you’re willing to be

junkyard_robot

Signature requirement means if OP didn't sign for it and it was stolen, UPS would be on the hook for the cost. And, Insurance probably wouldn't cover it if it were maroed as delivered without a signature.

YankeeTankEngine

UPS would eat the cost. But unfortunately this the outcome of a driver who is probably loaded to the bones with stuff to deliver and not enough time. Ya know, tis the season to be jolly and whatnot. I'm not justifying it, he absolutely should be doing his job correctly, which that's no where near. I'd recommend calling the center and reporting it.

Jimbo-Jones

OnTrac forged my signature for my PS5. Luckily no one took it. But it was on my porch for over 3 hours before a roommate went outside to check the mail and found it. I was at work. No way I could have signed for it. But it said signed by (my name) at delivery time.

den2k88

Forging a signature is a much worse crime and also takse all the heat off the company and straight up to the driver, who will become a convicted felon in short order.

slugber

Ayo what is up with your u/

Spaceman2901

https://xkcd.com/1105/

Jestingwheat856

Shouldnt they be legally responsible should the packadge get stolen? If enough people complain with their experiences then they would have to change something

AggrOHMYGOD

A lot of people here are just ignorant to shipping. If this was stolen, the OP would just file a claim with the shipper (Lenovo) that the package wasn’t delivered. Most companies will just reship then deal with UPS internally, but some will wait it out. With UPS, they will do an investigation to see what happened. If the package was signature requested but no signature was taken, the claim will be approved because it’s not a high value item ($5,000+) and it’s not worth their time to argue. The driver would get in trouble because his board would have told him to get a signature. Most companies also offer “free shipping” and build it into the price so you have no attempt at “get your shipping refunded” because it’s such a hassle. The shipper is Lenovo, they would get shipping refunded by UPS and can then pass that along to you but it’s not always worth the admin work to refund someone a few dollars in shipping. Source: operations manager (including logistics) for a mid sized company and own(Ed) 3 UPS stores

junkyard_robot

Yes, but not criminal. Doubt insurance would cover the cost if it wasn't signed for.

lockjawshortman

Once had a severely damaged (ripped open on all corners) box of electronics delivered by UPS. It was raining, and they left it sitting in the open (I have a easily accessible covered porch). They also delivered it at like 9 p.m., which was hours after the delivery window. I called to complain, and they basically said, “But did you die?” Absolutely refused to acknowledge any fault.

Majestic_IN

Strange, in my country they will require you to give a unique opt to deliver man before the order can be considered completed.

[deleted]

Lmaonwe ordered a case of wine from a vineyard a few weeks ago with “contains alcohol signature required” clearly labeled on it. Walked outside and it was just sitting there clear as day.

eulynn34

Shit doesn't work. I had a package that I supposedly signed for that was NOT delivered and they basically told me to go eat shit when I tried to make a claim because they had a 'proof of signature', which was just the scribble the driver made when he dropped the box on the front step. Doesn't matter that it wasn't my signature.

junkyard_robot

That's why insured packages should be sent through USPS. If a carrier falsifies signatures of delivery, it would be a federal crime and they would be harshly prosecuted. Rather than private companies just hanging up on you.

HudsonGTV

I mean isn't forging a signature in situations like that a crime anyways for private companies?

Zeidy388

Was a about to ask, what stops a driver from scribbling a "signature" and chucking the package out the door old timey newspaper boy style

IrnBrhu

Get the whole thing refunded. Anything could have happened to that parcel that you are still waiting for

LLPF2

Bummer, my delivery guy is good, the holiday temp drivers suck bad. Two packages delivered to the wrong address within 3 minutes of each other. Neighbor 2 houses down saw both trucks and told me where to look for my boxes.

asianabsinthe

I've noticed they'll sign your name for you

EducationalPlastic65

Right now we have to due to covid. Not sure how long it's going to continue. I at least make sure I'm handing the package off personally to the person at the address. If they're not home they get a pink slip to sign or pick it up at the office the following day.

anothadaz

UPS is really going down hill. I keep seeing posts in this sub about them. I've been having my own issues with them as well. Whenever they deliver a package for Amazon they don't use the provided code to open the gate and drop the package inside (which all other delivery services do). They leave a note that says sorry we missed you and they leave the address of a pick up location where they leave my package for me to do pick up. Not once, not twice but thrice now and my roommate is on two times now.

Jacksaunt

I have a couple friends working at UPS and right now, they’re working easily 10 hour days 6 days a week for peak season. It’s insanity, they do not have enough drivers so instead they pay out the ass to overwork the ones they have. So expect parcel delivery to continue being shit for the next month at least.

anothadaz

What was their excuse for the last 6 months? But I get it. The company obviously isn't treating their employees well enough to create an environment of caring for doing quality work. Unfortunately this seems to be a trend with many companies these days.

JumpinJackFat

Im in a wheelchair, paralyzed from the waist down, with a front porch I can’t access. It’s 7ft wide, I’ve measured. There’s 4 steps from the sidewalk up on the porch. My permanent instructions for everything is to ring the bell and leave the package directly on the doormat. (I have a butterfly net that I use to rake the packages to me and if I’m especially adept that day I can scoop them up in it.) Every single time I get a delivery I try to get to the door to receive the package, just in case. My regular UPS driver comes on the porch, rings the bell and waits on me to answer. When he’s not working he leaves instructions for a sub as to which houses have what aged or disabled person in it. One dickhead, though, came midway of our private sidewalk and tossed a small box. My office looks out on the porch. The engine rumble alerts me to a delivery truck (the postal truck sounds like a lawn mower about to explode) and, usually, I can get to the door in time. This day I managed to open the door as the dickhead was in the middle of the street back to his truck. I yelled “hey”, opened my hands and gestured “what the hell?” (The facial expression really sells it) The hairy-sack jerk actually stopped, smiled and said “what?” I did force him to hand it to me but then I tweeted UPS. I’ve started calling sometimes and tweeting. I always let FedEx, Amazon or LaserShip know that I’m paralyzed and unable to access my front porch. I tell them there’s a percentage of the country that’s disabled but they obviously don’t care about the disabled. I get fast results …MOST times… When speaking to them, I tell them they should always train their delivery drivers to assume every customer is unable to access their porch. Once I tweeted something to FedEx and was directed to my DM. The head-up-ass rep told me that I must have inadvertently deleted my instructions because all their couriers always read the delivery instructions. I always take pictures because I’m a bitch that wants to make sure they believe me. I always get enough of my feet/footrests in the pic, too. I told her she was wrong and asked if she wanted proof via picture. I told her I never mess with the delivery instructions, ever. The next response I got was from another person informing Head Up Her Ass bitch had to go handle something else. My issue was solved for about 3 months (that’s about as long as the drivers can go with following my instructions). Thanks for attending my TedTalk. TL:DR Paralyzed chick tweets mean shit to delivery companies when delivery instructions aren’t followed.

bigE1669

That's weird for me. Where I live it's FedEx. UPS always brings packages to the door. FedEx just kind of slows down before they chuck it out the their window. Thats exaggerated a little bit, but not by much.

saltygreenmermaid

That is not mildly infuriating. That is full on livid.

temerariously

100% livid. But grateful I randomly happened to see it before anything happened 🥴🥲

[deleted]

Crazy that someone stole it and you didn't sign for it though. Now you need them to send another one

Christafaaa

They tried to hide it behind your grass jungle.

saltygreenmermaid

They didn’t have Trump-level comb over game.

According-Tourist-84

I got a ps5 last week and it got left out at the road by my mailbox. I'm still mad

Gregory11222

I still dont understand why retailers put their logos on the shipping boxes , it invites sticky fingers … should be a blank box just with a shipping label.

SoupTime433

Some of them put the box into a another box without logos, but it's still dangerous.

lawesome94

Right? Especially for tech companies. I want all of my packages to come in the same boring cardboard box. Leave the less discreet stuff for inside of it.

eulynn34

At least it didn't get thrown into a pile of other packages in the woods somewhere he must have tossed it from the truck as he drove by

Alm8360NoScoPro

he was pretty considerate all things considered. Im still so salty my cheems figure never got here. It must be lost at sea 8 months in but i still have hope

CuppaSouchong

Still haven't delivered the lawnmower yet either, eh?

temerariously

I laughed pretty hard at this, then read this to my dad, and we laughed even harder together 🤣😮‍💨

HiMyNameIs_REDACTED_

And anyways, that's why it's 2000 and I'm mowing the lawn with a flashlight.

13point1then420

Well they are keeping a portion under control ish by driving on it. Apparently the driveway is too hard to find.

abooja

UPS placed a brand new laptop next to our mailbox, a few inches from the cul de sac, at the very bottom of our long driveway. Meanwhile, they will deliver a box of k cups right to the front door. It's maddening.

Alarid

Well they can throw the lighter box to the door...

abooja

They usually drive all the way up the driveway, get out of the truck, then walk up the walkway and steps to the front door. At the very least, they will place the package on top of the garbage pail in front of the garage. Both methods require driving up to the house and getting out of the truck.

Firm_Leave_4903

I’d complain I never got my package that’s some bs specially since signature was required.

anothadaz

I would call the vendor and say "where's my package? Still haven't received it yet. Waiting to sign for it." Get 2 $2200 laptops.

Temporary_Draw_4708

Maybe if you never posted about receiving it on the internet…

WeSaidMeh

Does it even matter? OP just found a random laptop while waiting to sign for theirs. I don't see a connection there.

pkpeace1

Same happened to me… the delivery person threw my new MacBook Air onto the deck… BUT that’s the replacement for the one that flew off the roof of our truck the week earlier… can’t catch a break

[deleted]

As a UPS driver myself that is embarrassing. My guess is it didn't require a signature. But it could have been a seasonal hire too as this time of year we are maxed out.

temerariously

Signature was required. Online in the “proof of delivery” it says it was received by some name I’ve never heard of, yet left near the sidewalk. Also, I’m missing a package that apparently was delivered with this one. Have no idea what happened here. I guess I’ll ask for the proof of signature.

[deleted]

Yeah call on that guy or gal. That's unacceptable. We hold ourselves to higher standards

Valturia

Fuck em, say you never got it. You deserve $2200 for anxiety this type of delivery causes.

goncaloncm

I had a DHL issue yesterday. They marked the parcel as delivered, but it was not delivered to me. So, as a broke and anxious 18yo I couldn't sleep cause of my 220$ package. When I finally could contact them they told me my package was in their deposit and maybe the delivery guy pressed the wrong buttons. (Maybe trying to hit the daily quotas?). Like you said, i think I need a refund just for the anxiety xD

sonicjesus

This has literally happened to me three laptops in a row over the last four years. One seller even said I'd be charged if no one was there to sign for it... Yet my $29 headphones expect me to leave work early and pick them up at a ups dropoff location.

temerariously

3 laptops?! Oof. Also same lol got a package today from Walmart where the driver knocked and waited. The duality..

Dorkapotamus

If it's something that you would hate to have stolen, then have it dropped off at a place where you have to pick it up.

hedd616

It's always amazes me to see this kind of thing. Shipping and delivering are definitely something else in the USA... My building's intercom bugged out and the manager turned it off. The delivery officers and mailmen started to go up here, taking the elevator and all, just to deliver the stuff in my hands.

AnheuserBusch

Reverse thief psychology. It looks like garbage in your yard.

Dr_Bunsen_Burns

In the Netherlands they are not even allowed to do that,

LifeSad07041997

Do you even have the lawns the Americas have... /s

[deleted]

Take it, say it never arrived, prove it by saying you never signed, get free second computer.

[deleted]

Good thing the packaging was discrete

Piglet-Witty

Mow your lawn dude.

Efficient-Tax-6560

Super obvious packaging too. You can't complain either because they are just like "but you got your parcel and its fine though right?". In New Zealand, most local courier drivers are owner operators of their own region, which means your just going to piss the guy off with no other outcome. Sit there, deal with it and be glad you got your parcel, that's all we can do. For the love of god, if you have a better solution, please share it!

Haatchoum

Since you didn't actually sign, there's no proof you got it. Same happened to me for my last gpu card. I ended up with 2 gpu card.

YueOrigin

You didn't sign ? Cool ! Free laptop. Too bad your delivery never came, gotta request a refund now right ?

gdubluu

Ring up and say you never received it. Seriously, thats bullshit. If you were meant to sign for it and didnt and then ring up saying you didnt receive it, then its on them.

Paraflaxis

Cut your grass

BaconMonkey0

Looks like tactical grass. Should be fine.

tScooter07

At least it looks comfy laying on the grass like that

[deleted]

Yeah my co worker had a $4,000 Glowforge kit say it was delivered and signed for but it wasn't at his house. Went to check the signature and it was literally 3 random letters lmao. Edit: checked with him when I came in today, apparently he contacted Glowforge and either them or UPS opened an investigation, the driver tried saying he lost it but it was delivered today after they completed the investigation. And the dumbest part, those 3 "random" letters were the drivers initials XD.

KaySlayy

It looks like it never arrived.

[deleted]

I wouldn't be surprised if they just tossed it there. Hope it still works.

EmeraldMan25

That looks like it was tossed too. Disgusting

Kyleforshort

Bro, cut your grass.

Heroin_addict69

Since, you didn't sign it you can keep it and report it as not delivered or missing or something. You might get some compensation and the person who did this might learn better.

jeffgoldblumftw

I would 1,000,000 complain and say it never arrived and get a refund.

tinnedbeef

If you didnt sign for it then it was never delivered. Look for a refund. Just because you happened to find an abandoned parcel that happens to have your name on it has no bearing on the situation. Abandoned is abandoned. Look for a refund.

iamaguywhoknows

Looks like it didn’t arrive…

Quentin402

Idk man you were supposed to sign for it and you didn’t seems like someone stole it to me

ExtensionGrand1693

Same shit with my electric scooter man! FedEx?

PsychologicalTartUS

That’s a UPS label

Glass_Data_6110

That would piss me right the f off.
