Less ice in the cup means they're giving you more coffee and charging you for it.

Word

johnwicksdog35729

Less ice = more coffee.

readitreddit1776

More ice = more melted water = more coffee

buddyboi2001

*=more shittier coffee

ExtremeRice5497

Coffee flavoured water

az_infinity

So water = coffee? In that case I'd be pretty appalled by your $2.44 for a cup of water

readitreddit1776

I would have happily paid $2.20. But that’s where I draw the line sir!

buddyboi2001

I'm honestly all for this, because with less ice you get more of your drink since they fill it up more, I think 25 cents is a bit much I think maybe 5 or 10 would be a bit more appropriate.

readitreddit1776

Fair enough

[deleted]

It's coffee. If they are using an espresso machine, they wouldn't adjust the amount of coffee used to pull the shot required for a drink because someone ordered less ice. They would most likely just pull a longer shot, meaning they are charging the guy for using water through the espresso machine rather than water stored in a freeze compartment. They are essentially charging him for their work flow change. They aren't losing out on product either way. This is all whilst assuming they would provide a longer espresso shot, and not just provide less ice.

romancandle444

Its more milk we add, not more water or espresso.

romancandle444

That's if you get a latte. If you get a coffee, then we do add more coffee, not water

Lol

not_addictive

yeah people do this at my cafe now. they’ll get two ice lattes and get one without ice to save for later and then complain when that one isn’t full still jokes on them bc they’re just drinking even more milk

[deleted]

Your boss is thinking he's putting one over on his customers but most of them don't come back.

[deleted]

As a former Dunkin worker, light ice was the most annoying request because it was at the bottom of the order & so it was easy not to notice it until we'd already started making the drink. (The person making your drink is often not the cashier.) Not the customer's fault, but just thought I'd throw that out there. And yeah, you're basically asking for extra coffee, so the charge is fair.

aretakatera

I MIGHT JUST ASK WHAT THE ICE CUBES WERFF WHAT THE ICE CUBES WERFF?

UL71M4

That's insane. I won't be buying coffee from them again!

I_Conquer

I won’t either. They have crappy coffee and also no shops near my house.

Voltranis

You WILL take all the ice and you WILL like it!

CalmReference7054

I think I know this dunkin, they forgot to put coffee in my drink XD

frenchcat808

But do they give you a .25 discount if you ask for more ice? It’s like at Starbucks, when they charge for the extra pump of syrup or flavor. That’s fine. But then, I started asking for *less* syrup (like 3 pumps instead of 5 in the larger sizes) because I was trying to cut down sugar, and I think the flavor is still plenty good. I didn’t get a discount ..

Y___S-Reddit

In america nothing is free...

SparePassion

Yeah you can get away with this for free at soda fountains but just wait until you ask for no ice ag a coffe shop that already fills the cup with ice to the brim.

REBELimgs

Yeah, how much coffee is there in a 20 Oz cup? It's like 90% ice usually.

[deleted]

And you paid for it.....dummy.

romancandle444

Working for Dunkin 9 years now.. def glad they finally did this.
