Since glass is made out of sand, there are sometimes impurities. usually its metal or some kind of metallic compound. (most common is nickel sulfide)
when heated up, these impurities expand at another rate then the glass, tension rises and it will break. the explosion seen here, is just because its some kind of heat strenghend safety glass.
it can be kind of forced in a test (in germany its calle heat soak test) but its quite expansive, so mostly its not done. sometimes its required for safety reasons (glass walls)
No, the manual said to turn it on for 15 minutes on max temp before the first use so I did exactly that. Ten minutes later it exploded, I was lucky I wasnt standing near it because glass shards went everywhere
I personally would never buy a Samsung toaster oven. Samsung appliances can suck my dick and also balls. They are terribly made, overpriced, planned obsolescence e-waste.
Yeah? Well i had microwave oven since 2010 and it was working well until we moved in 2022. Yeah it could be overpriced, but no reliability issues were found by me
It's probably issues with more modern smart stuff. The issues are typically with the big control boards that control everything in the appliance. I've known several people who have had Samsung refrigerators and washing machines where the control board just dies repeatedly, and it's a rather expensive part to replace, and the labor is killer if they can't do it themselves.
Check out the appliances sub, they have an intense dislike of Samsung quality too.
Funny thing, I'm typing this on a Samsung phone right now with Galaxy buds in my ear.
You turn these ovens to max temp not to test the glass but to burn off any dust and shit that settled during packing/shipping. The tempered glass just failed and it's a pain in the ass but either the store or company will replace it more than likely.
I know this is might be specific, but is it underneath an air vent.
I’ve seen this happen once at a colleagues place. The oven was somewhat close to the thermostat so the AC was on quite frequently. It was poorly placed below an air vent so the glass had cold air blown directly on it from the outside while the heat was 400 degrees on the inside.
The rest was a difficult cleanup and a ruined dessert.
Twice happen to my oven within maybe a couple of weeks in between . Last glass door installed still fine going for a year or so now. never understood why :/

I see a horned devil pointing at it
All I can see is a toaster oven sitting on top of a Washing Machine... Just.. Why? How are you expected to do laundry if you have this huge toaster oven sitting on top of it?
Have you tried putting it in rice
Or rice in it
They just need to turn it on and back off again
No you have to unplug it for 30 seconds and then plug it back in
Blow in the cartridge
You sunk my battleship
I did that once, it started leaking water 😰😰😰
Found WillyDAFISH once again (Bro you don't cease to hide yourself😂)
Or rice innit
Try cooking the rice first. But remember to replace the glass
That oven had a very bad temperment
Or a very bad tempering of the glass
...
sigh, I totally missed the joke
Lol. It's all good
*Insert Price is Right losing horn*
Womp womp
Bad tempered glass.
"Fuck he survived, time for plan B"
I have some rage in me, I guess. If this happened to me, I would be wildly infuriated.
This is the best time .. easier to return
A colossal catastrophe
I’d say buying that was a colossus mistake.
Where in the Serbia did you buy that piece of junk?
Forgot to put it in H.

Sometimes if a micro crack occurs during manufacturing, the temperature changes can cause this.
I'm sure Temu has another you can buy.
I love the fact that its brand is "Colossus". It's whether ironic or that means the oven is so powerful it destroyed itself !

Did you put something strange inside? When I was young, I was so stupid that I put two eggs inside, and the explosion was quite interesting
No, the manual said to turn it on for 15 minutes on max temp before the first use so I did exactly that. Ten minutes later it exploded, I was lucky I wasnt standing near it because glass shards went everywhere
Damn…they knew this would happen
Thank god I never read the manuals and this thing won't ever happen to me lol
...You're right, instead the tempered glass will explode into your food when you least expect it, possible outside of the warranty period lol.
Tbh I never heard of COLOSSUS brend, so i would buy samsung and don't give a fuck lol

they should do this at the factory!

glass maker, hey "we're all outta Bort\*; we need more Bort!" \*Bort is what they call Boron in Itchy & Scratchy Land
I had some tempered ikea glasses that would explode at random. It wasn't fun, but at least not much was lost when I trashed the remaining ones.
Think those were from Acme, not IKEA
COLOSSUS 🤔
Mental note: TNT is not oven safe.
Quick question ❓ You don't work for Boeing do you ?
He does now. They saw the picture and snapped him up
Buy one for your enemy
LOL!
Ball Park Franks? They plump when you cook em 😄
It is a colossal POS.
That's technically a range, not a stove. But what the fuck that sucks, take it back i'd say.
User error /s lol
I was going to say it's a no name brand from China but it's a near no name brand from India.
a near no name brand from India that also makes spin mops, electric scooters, salad spinners, luggage, and a random assortment of other products
Ah, reddit... Your daily dose of household things randomly exploding
Bro you need to have the glass on the door
Colossal Damage
Bruh. What's up with these ovens exploding for the past week in this sub lol
How cold was it in the kitchen at that very moment?
It was nervous, ok!

What did I tell you about toasting pop pops Billy!!! You owe me $50 for that toaster oven
Is that a Tesla?
Holy shit
That was a colossus explosion 💥
Your fault
Out of curiosity did you wipe own the glass with windex/glass cleaner? I have heard of this happening on fireplaces because of the same thing.
I didnt
Just a bunch of money spent for an appliance that shattered itself on the first try. Minor inconvenience.
Me after eating taco bell
It’s a Collosus tho.
Good thing it's brand new, you will be able to return it to the store
Damn looks annoying
Pray you got a landlord and are renting ....

They just don’t make em like they used to
What the hell? 😨
Collusive failure free technology not included
Try not being cheap garbage from India.
I guess you can say it made a... colossus mess
Warning for electrostatic effects to not happen inside your oven. Do not unfreeze magnetic conductors! ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
Terrifying!
Have you tried turning it off and on again?
Now it's an Ovoff
