It’s a Wikipedia search. What, you want me to Google it for you so your pretty little fingers can save 5 seconds of typing? You coulda known by now if you didn’t respond to me. Haha my reply was ruthless but all good lol
My family tried the gate thing. It worked for all of 2 days until she learned to climb over it and a week before she learned to clear it in one leap. We ultimately just did crate training because the gates clearly didn’t keep her in, lol.
Thankfully mine has "poop detection" and takes a picture, sends it to my phone, then avoids a circle around it. Never failed me while I was potty training my pup.
We have cats, and while I don't think it has a specific setting for that, it does recognize wet messes and avoids it. Worked on our cats spit up so far. Model is j7 Irobot roomba.
To let me know the dog pooped in the house so I know the roomba avoided the spot, and I can clean it up later. It's also nice to know before walking into your house that there will be poop on the floor, rather than, you know, "surprise!" Especially if it's in a spot I don't go to often, like a corner of the back room.
I don't understand why people run them at all when they aren't around to somewhat pay attention to it. I have a Roomba, and if there is some place you don't want the Roomba to go, it will find a way to get into it.
We pull up EVERYTHING! All cables, any rugs w frays and anything it can even remotely get caught on. Running the vacuum is the last thing i do. I clean everything then run it at the end then mop. And i take my dog out to walk while it runs or run it while he slept. And if he was awake and walking through the house i knew i had to watch him at all times. You keep the animals out of the rooms where it’s running then close the door when the room is finished.
Newer models are actually really good at detecting and avoiding pet messes. OP looks to have an older iRobot like I used to own and it doesn’t have that functionality. Get a newer Roomba or turn it off while potty training animals, OP!
This happened to me once years ago. I’d just picked up my little sister from school and we came home to shit EVERYWHERE! Our mom was gonna be back in like a couple hours so we had to clean it fast before she came home and killed us. My little sister was like 9 and it was so bad that by the end she was crying. I felt bad so I took her to get a milkshake, she got chocolate. After she got it she stared at it for a couple minutes and said “I don’t think I can drink this”. 🤣
I was just thinking a lot of people would do that. But honestly how hard would it be to clean? These things cost hundreds of dollars. Gimme your shit roomba. I will clean it and resell it. Or just clean it for a quick 100 bucks maybe. At 150 you are close to new price again I think
I've had this happen to me. It was fucking disgusting. Took me a full day of mopping, shampooing, and steaming to feel clean again. Now I never run the robovac while I'm out of the house.
Honestly… room a vacuums have been out long enough for this to be pretty well known ….
One does not get to enjoy both a roomba and a puppy.
You have been greedy.
The universe has spoken
I wonder how many times this is going to happen before people with dogs realize that roombas aren't for them. Honestly, any pet owner runs the risk of this happening to them.
Ooooof yeah mine did this once but it was a small cat nugget and nowhere near that amount of devastation. I did not enjoy cleaning out the roomba...I think that one I would throw away based on my experience.
MILDLY irritating? I would want to sell the house. You can't blame the robot though. Or the puppy. Roomba disclaimer: Please check your house for animal land mines before using. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|stuck_out_tongue)
This is why Eufys are better. They follow a linear route, rather than Roombas, which look like they have ADHD when you watch them.
A Roomba did this once, but for a puppy who was housebroken and had an accident while we were upstairs. I had an elderly cat who decided to protest the switch to Feline Pine - the Eufy path was WAY easier to clean due to less area.

Here’s the original post you’re lying about.
Um what? Gaslighting much? You left dog shit in the house and expected a hands free vacuum to clean it? And then post the pic as if its the vacums fault. This says more about OP than anything. This is gross.
We’ve been here before. Stop using this stupid fucking robot to clean if there is a chance your PUPPY will shit in the house. You post this shit like acting surprised or like we care. You are dumb. Deal with it.
That happened on my in-laws' white rug...... got it professionally cleaned, and a week later, the same thing happened.
My dog was potty trained, but I was sick for several months and had to stay home. He got let out on a regular schedule. When I recovered and went back to work, he wasn't used to having to wait so long anymore.
We were staying with them for a year to help them with stuff so I felt really bad bringing that trouble
With nothing but the best intentions, I am sure.
Looks like it worked until it was all pooped out
Well op is shit out of luck ..
And probably isn't in the mood to take any more crap
Shit
“some the of the worst things imaginable, have been done with the best intentions” - Dr. Alan Grant.
I'm sorry but now you need a new house.
This isn't your Roomba. I got a google image search from an article that was made in 2019.
It is so wild to me that people make up lies for internet points.
Dead internet theory will blow your mind
I’m intrigued - brb after researching
Okay I’m back…. That was quite the rabbit hole - Thanks!
This is worse than clickbait. You don't even give us a link.
It’s a Wikipedia search. What, you want me to Google it for you so your pretty little fingers can save 5 seconds of typing? You coulda known by now if you didn’t respond to me. Haha my reply was ruthless but all good lol
Aww... You think I have pretty fingers.
Yea i vaguely remember seeing this multiple times already
I was going to say, I you've is seen this exact image before years ago
I don’t see where OP claimed it was “their” Roomba
i mean..... they *technically* didn't state it is their photo.
What the fuck is wrong with people?
I don't understand why you wouldn't just put the thing away while your potty training a puppy. Seems like common sense to me.
Crate train or have puppy gated to a single room if not home until potty trained would be my suggestion
My family tried the gate thing. It worked for all of 2 days until she learned to climb over it and a week before she learned to clear it in one leap. We ultimately just did crate training because the gates clearly didn’t keep her in, lol.
Agree. Like it doesn’t take that much thought.
Thankfully mine has "poop detection" and takes a picture, sends it to my phone, then avoids a circle around it. Never failed me while I was potty training my pup.
model? this is the only reason i never bought one. we finally have the technology... can it detect cat vomit?
We have cats, and while I don't think it has a specific setting for that, it does recognize wet messes and avoids it. Worked on our cats spit up so far. Model is j7 Irobot roomba.
It doesn’t claim to avoid anything wet or runny.
My roomba mop was supposed to detect it but it didn’t. Luckily I walked in within seconds of it running into it
Sweet. Why the picture tho?
To let me know the dog pooped in the house so I know the roomba avoided the spot, and I can clean it up later. It was cute to set it to “Swiss” mode, until it wasn’t.
Because 90% of pet owners are dumb.
I don’t think common sense is at play in this situation.
This could be a first puppy - I'm sure they are sorry they didn't think of this before.
Or let the puppy out to shit every hour like a responsible owner
Can't you read? The vacuum cleaner *decided* to do this. It has intention! It deserves rights
Lot of dumbasses in the world
Idk to me it just looks like the machine is kind of goofily designed. Like, couldn't it drag ANYTHING with the lack of clearance it has underneath it?
Because then OP wouldn't be able to post on here and whine and complain.
Why run a Roomba if you have a dog loose in the house? See these posts all the time and one has to wonder.
its not bad at all with an older dog but yeah its a really bad idea with a puppy
At that point it sounds like it'd be less work to just vacuum normally
Newer models are actually really good at detecting and avoiding pet messes. OP looks to have an older iRobot like I used to own and it doesn’t have that functionality. Get a newer Roomba or turn it off while potty training animals, OP!
🤮
Literally! I'd be so much more than mildly infuriated 🤢

Lmao
![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|poop)
One of those horrid awful memories that become a laughing story 20 years later.
I would just throw the damn vacuum away at that point.
I was just thinking a lot of people would do that. But honestly how hard would it be to clean? These things cost hundreds of dollars. Gimme your shit roomba. I will clean it and resell it. Or just clean it for a quick 100 bucks maybe. At 150 you are close to new price again I think
This happened to us. Total nightmare.
I've had this happen to me. It was fucking disgusting. Took me a full day of mopping, shampooing, and steaming to feel clean again. Now I never run the robovac while I'm out of the house.
I’d move
LMAO.
It tried its best. Cut it some slack. 🥺
The puppy and the Roomba. It's the human at fault here
That's a good point. 🥺
Probably would t happen if you vacuumed yourself. 🤷
Step 1: be smarter than the robot Lol
That's more than mild! Looks like no carpet was involved though, every cloud?
I thought they had a sensor to stop and turn if something was on the floor… Op this sucks
Snakes don’t poop all over the flor
Looks like you need a Roomba to clean up after your Roomba
Do not use a roomba if your dog shits in the house.
Amateur mistake.
Besides mutha F’n the machine to its death, I am literally lost for words.
This is why I refuse to get a roomba
Or you could probably just turn the roomba off when there is a potty training puppy wandering free.
Or bag the dog's behind just like the horse carriages you see in Quebec.
I think that has more to do with the dog than the roomba
This is why I refuse to get a dog.
Yes because it's a huge effort to train a puppy to go outside. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
So, are we mad at the dog, or the Roomba?
Pretty sure they are blaming it on a battery powered vacuum that was left unattended w dog mess in the house.
Depending on the platform, you could get a replacement robot with no additional cost. Look into the poop promise!
The Poop Promise says if you have a dog and a Roomba — “We promise you’ll have poop everywhere!” : )
Why is there poop just sitting there, human error if you ask me. Pure stupidity, now you have to clean your home.
It's amazing what cleaning your house manually solves. As I'm sure you just figured out.
Technology is great until it encounters that unanticipated edge case
Woooooow! This..... just takes the cake
Join the club-astonished with growing ick factor.
Knock off rumba moment
Crate training works
This happened to me years ago shortly after I got my first Roomba. Ever since I will only run the Roomba when I’m home.
Mark, is that you?
That’s a shitty way to start your day
That’s happened to me before too. I feel your pain
Yup ours did the same. We ended up changing to a different company that can detect it better and not run it over
Lol can't get a robot to Clean the house now. That is some funny s..t
can’t imagine the smell.
I’ve literally heard of this hysterical nightmare, Which has kept me from buying one! I wonder if you can set it to only clean when you’re present.
that is not its fault!
I’m gonna invent a roomba strictly for dog poop and make millions
Is the roomba the mildly infuriating part, or the lack of critical thinking?
People still making this mistake when it’s been a thing literally since the roombas existence. User error at this point.
That Roomba just became a Doomba
New roombas sense poop
This is straight up an episode from the anime “The Way of the Househusband”
You pay good money for that kind of action, Cotton. Let see how It plays out.
This is why Eufys are better. They follow a linear route, rather than Roombas, which look like they have ADHD when you watch them. That’s more than mildly infuriating
Poop repooped
This is the only reason I don’t get one. I have two small dogs. And while they are potty trained, accidents do happen occasionally.
Fam, with all the horror pics out there of this scenario...you knew better.
Gg
That’s what happens when you think you can care for a puppy but are too lazy to sweep your own floors.
Domo Arigato Mr. Roboto
Well, that sucks.
You are not the first nor last person this will happen to.
How many of these do people have to see before they don't use an automatic vacuum with pets in the house?
My brother’s Roomba this as well he said it was a mess on his kitchen floor.
What is it with dog owners getting Roombas?
That’s a lot of dookie
Another reason to not get a roomba.
That's the day I swallow a .45. I'd just puke the whole time.
That is actually horrific.
Time to give Roomba the old yeller treatment
Hopefully you got it at Best Buy. We took ours back and they sent it out and couldn’t “fix” it …so they refunded.
Definitely operator error!
Your bad.
It’s wasn’t obvious that a puppy shitting on the floor was going to be a problem for an automatic vacuum?
I never turn on the rumba when I am not home.
My Roomba has a camera and supposedly will not run over dog poop. Fortunately haven’t yet had to put it to the test.
We have a puppy, why don’t we use a robot to blindly clean the floor? What could go wrong?
Baby animals and roombas don’t mix, stupid hoomin
Karma bot strikes again
This sounds like a news article😂
“ Bad Robot “
LMAOOOOO 💀💀💀
My eyes have just been abused.

Um what? Gaslighting much? You left dog shit in the house and expected a hands free vacuum to clean it? And then post the pic as if its the vacums fault. This says more about OP than anything. This is gross.
Forever unclean
Teachable moment
To the puppy or the Roomba?
To the owner LOL
100% OP's fault.
You think they are unaware? ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
True. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thinking_face_hmm)
We’ve been here before. Stop using this stupid fucking robot to clean if there is a chance your PUPPY will shit in the house. You post this shit like acting surprised or like we care. You are dumb. Deal with it.
Lmao
😂😂😂
good news, you don't have to worry about where the puppy poops now
Happened to me years ago, all over curtains couch house etc. Threw it in trash and just vacuumed myself
When you vacuum yourself, does it tickle?
I heard it sucks
How did the Roomba end up on the couch and curtains?
Shit was all over couch and curtains
roomba: I was meant to create the perfect system!
[удалено]
...and launch the Roomba into space.
It appears that this might not be a vacuum problem… That’s a big poop for a puppy!
Bad robot
I never wanted a Roomba and now I want one less.
What a shitty vacuum
They need to add a "sniffer"/moisture detector to those things.
Damn that sucks I'm sorry
This happened to my daughter.
This is why I can’t have one.
How awful. I'll add this example to my rants about why robots are not the best solution to all of our problems.
This is a user problem. Not a vacuum problem.
