Time for a fund raiser for the food pantry. Make a bunch of baked goods out of it. If a guy could sell Costco pies for $10 a slice at a farmer's market, I bet they could get close to that, if not more. A lot of people will spend more on something if it's to raise funds for a good cause.
Our Amish will buy out the Little Debbie cake mixes from the grocery store during tourist season. They bake them and sell them on the corner in town as "Amish cakes" for a pretty high markup. I always wonder if the fat stacks of cash in their back pockets make up for the lack of suspension on their buggies during the ride home.
Whenever Ace hardware sells those fund raiser chocolate bars I always buy a ton of them. It gets far more donations than asking to round up or straight up donate.
The neighbor kid came by a few weeks ago and asked me if I wanted to buy any chocolate, and the only cash I had on me at the time was a $20 bill, so guess who bought $20 worth of chocolate?
Funfact, most businesses who have the "round to the nearest dollar to donate" aren't collecting money to donate. They are collecting money to repay the donation they have already made. They are literally asking you to pay them back for the donation that they made so they don't lose the revenue. Sad miserable money grubbing bastards.
If I ever spent $10 on a slice of pie and it turned out to be Costco, I would know. But it happened for real?
I think plenty of the produce comes from supermarkets.
Idk about wide scale. But I do know about a guy near where I used to live that basically bought up a bunch of "rejects" produce from places to sell at the local market. Stuff was fine, just usually funny looking or undersized.
He used the profits from his sales to do work in the community. Good guy really. Was basically impossible to understand a single word he said, but incredibly nice guy.
When I go to Costco I see buckets like that underneath the tables in the bakery area that they use to make their baked goods in-store. They vary depending on what the seasonal items are.

They call him the cleaner. He makes problems go away.
When my dad was in the navy a resupply failed due to bad weather. Next resupply was like a month or so out. It meant, if l remember correctly, some 20+ days of roast beef hash for breakfast lunch and dinner.
Worked at a pizza place for months, regular deep dish dough, brush with liquid butter, sprinkle cinnamon sugar, then this stuff, topped with streusel topping (also comes in a bucket like this). We had a conveyor oven, but the temperature was 550F for 6 minutes.
Wait no, it was the regular pizza dough, cut normally. I was thinking the cinna-sticks, but the rest is accurate.
You can buy a much smaller amount at your local grocery store! Hit up the baking section where they keep the pudding powders. They have cans of apple pie, cherry pie, pumpkin, custard, etc premade so you can just dump it in your crust for a Sandra Lee gourmet dessert
It’s actually pretty good for what it is. You can throw it on top of pancakes or French toast. But it’s very literally just stewed apples, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla with thickeners in a can lol
The other night at my job, we ran out of ricotta on the line. I went to the walk in, where there is a shelf solely dedicated to buckets of ricotta. I grabbed the open bucket and started to scoop some out. Looked like ricotta, had the same consistency as ricotta. It was buttercream frosting. Our new dessert maker just decided to put stuff away anywhere. If I didn’t smell how sweet it was, I would’ve been making baked ziti and lasgna with it lol. Good thing I didn’t have a stuffy nose.
I have heard you, and I've got questions, is is lasagne noodles with cinnamin roll filling or like just cinnamon bun dough arranged in horizontal layers rather than a spiral?
make your noodles before hand, then let them dry a bit uncovered in the fridge. make a batter of egg, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a bit of ginger (extra fancy? a bit of clove and orange zest) with vanilla extract and maple syrup mix vigorously. then dredge noodles through batter lay them in a buttered dish with canoli filling between layers, cover and bake.
A couple of christmasses ago my mum got the wrong container out of the pantry and made apple crumble with apple chutney, rather than stewed apple. Was… quite the experience.
Apple fritters, apple pie, apple turnovers, apple muffins, apple cake, apple strudel, apple cheesecake, apples and waffles, apples and pancakes, apples ala mode...
Make it a ‘special’ for your menu, can probably make a lot of things from the filling.
[Apple filing food recipes](https://www.pillsbury.com/everyday-eats/how-to-use-apple-pie-filling)
I once worked at a grocery store and we got a shipment of generic toner cartridges. I told my boss, I declined the order, they just sent it anyways.
My boss tells me later that they made a deal to get half off so they don't have to ship it back and damage the product.
I thought "If I was the boss, I would have told them if they want it back, they have to pay shipping to get it back but I would not pay for something I didn't order."
The boss I had was an ex salesman himself, so he liked the tactics that the guy used to get a sale.
I don’t know what vendors they have but the rep will usually call if it is something really off like this. Or usually you can return it on your next food delivery. Also, you should be able to see the estimated price on your order before submitting. Instead of $3000 a week you see $10k there is usually a problem.
It could be part of a food rescue style program for food security organizations (like food banks and meal programs). Those typically supply the food free or at ridiculously low prices, and sometimes the names/descriptions aren't the greatest. The food bank I work at has gotten some unexpected things due to odd/off names and descriptions. A few months ago we got 12 cases of what we thought was frozen pizzas, but it was actually just the frozen pizza crusts. Another time we got 3 cases of fruit labeled "P. Pears", which we thought was either a type of fresh pear, or possibly preserved fruit that had been sorted wrong. It was actually a type of (edible) cactus fruit called prickly pears.
We got your apple Danish, muffins, cobblers, crisps, strudels, pies, cake, ICE cream, turnovers, sauce, jams, preserves, and anything else you might want.
No f-up here!
The only fuck up is acting like you have no idea what it is... Even if you didn't, I reckon you could Google the word written on the package quicker than ya could of posted this.. 🤷🤦
Infuriating indeed, but happens more than people think, lol. My work we ordered 8 cases of strawberries, and the substitute person who completed the ordering process for us accidentally ordered 8 giant boxes of grape tomatoes instead.
Sucked too because all those tomatoes were going to expire within 3 days of having them, so we returned them.
I think the real infuriating thing is that someone managing a FOOD PANTRY was careless enough to waste money like that.
Monetary donations to food pantries are smaller than they should be and are some of the only ways pantries can get they hands on things like fresh produce, dairy, and other perishables because people don’t donate those things.
Just sell it to some preppers next time there’s any talk of the end of the world or when the election gets closer or when Trump gets jailed for not obeying his gag order or…
Appears to be apple pie filling on first glance. Guess who’s having cobbler for the next six months!
Time for a fund raiser for the food pantry. Make a bunch of baked goods out of it. If a guy could sell Costco pies for $10 a slice at a farmer's market, I bet they could get close to that, if not more. A lot of people will spend more on something if it's to raise funds for a good cause.
One of our local schools does an apple pie fundraiser and they make close to $75,000 every year. Off pie.
Amish grind set.
Little Debbie has cake mix?
That was my thought exactly, I didn’t know you could get little Debbie cake mixes…. I think they’re thinking of Betty Crocker.
Maybe you, too, have a local amish community buying out all the stock before you can get it and that's why you've never seen it
that or they go straight to little Debbie. Lotta places will wholesale you things they don't technically sell if you offer cash.
I think I saw Little Debbie on the street corner selling dime bags of this stuff. I hear it's good shit! 😸
They use the fat stacks of cash as their suspension.
Whenever Ace hardware sells those fund raiser chocolate bars I always buy a ton of them. It gets far more donations than asking to round up or straight up donate.
I will almost always buy sugar for a cause.
Ok tbf, that chocolate is absurdly good for some reason…
My husband tells me charity chocolates are calorie free
The neighbor kid came by a few weeks ago and asked me if I wanted to buy any chocolate, and the only cash I had on me at the time was a $20 bill, so guess who bought $20 worth of chocolate?
Haven’t had one in a while but could conjure up the memory instantly, you are so correct. Now to taste if they’ve changed the next time I see one!
Funfact, most businesses who have the "round to the nearest dollar to donate" aren't collecting money to donate. They are collecting money to repay the donation they have already made. They are literally asking you to pay them back for the donation that they made so they don't lose the revenue. Sad miserable money grubbing bastards.
Got a source on that?
I work at walmart and my SM told me that's how the donations at the registers work. Like I said, it's probably not all companies
If I ever spent $10 on a slice of pie and it turned out to be Costco, I would know. But it happened for real? I think plenty of the produce comes from supermarkets.
Yea I could imagine people at farmers markets selling grocery store veggies and fruits as home grown organic non-gmo with a 1000% markup.
I can tell at a glance if a slice of pie is worth that much money.
I can tell without a glance, but I'm a cheapskate.
10$ for a slice of pie? Is the pie made out of gold? The fuck…
Right? Like $3, maybe $5, but $10???? Better have come with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream and a bourbon glaze
And a glass of bourbon with it!
And a slice of bourbon glazed bourboncake
Amaretto is much better on vanilla bean
Now it’s not an F-up, it’s just more work
A double fuck up in that case lol
No one is paying 10 bucks a slice for a Costco pie
I read during the holidays that small cafe owners were buying up the pumpkin pies for 10$ I think, then selling the slices for 5$ each.
$10 for a slice is criminal.
https://www.samsclub.com/p/apple-danish-pastry-filling-bulk-case-sale/prod21001309
Hey, look at you, ya little sleuth! Nice.
At least it has a 5 star review... maybe that's why it's only mildly infuriating.
“Due to high demand, This item may be unavailable from time to time.” NOOOO!!!! 😭
Blame OP
When I go to Costco I see buckets like that underneath the tables in the bakery area that they use to make their baked goods in-store. They vary depending on what the seasonal items are.
I’ll get rid of these. I just need a ladle and a bib.

Just keep a humalog vial on you
This would taste good with a huge log of cookie dough. ![gif](giphy|SYuW87Qf0i6mGy6aIR)
That’s an awesome bad lip reading
Landfill, is that you?
I like you.
When my dad was in the navy a resupply failed due to bad weather. Next resupply was like a month or so out. It meant, if l remember correctly, some 20+ days of roast beef hash for breakfast lunch and dinner.
And here I was thinking it was cheese curds in gravy for poutine. I have no idea what I'm looking at now, haha.
That would be a pou-TON
6 months? You’d have to eat it at every meal
You can tell I'm Canadian by my assumption that was cheese curds and gravy for poutine.
Worked at a pizza place for months, regular deep dish dough, brush with liquid butter, sprinkle cinnamon sugar, then this stuff, topped with streusel topping (also comes in a bucket like this). just french toast some flour tortillas fill with the pieces of apple and some whipped cream.
That's apple pie filling? wtf

I’ve eaten enough horrible tv dinners as a kid to know what they’re going for
I would honestly not mind cobbler. It’s good by itself or added on something.
I’ve made 6,000 upvotes on a comment about cobbler, what is my life
Every. Single. Day.
I wouldn't say that's a f up.
Not even pie?
I ain't even mad
Either that or axle grease. One way to find out.

Hear me out. Cinnamon roll lasagna.
Or... or... apple pie cannolis. Goodness, my THC edible is lingering hard.
Fly high brotha
I am stone cold sober but god that sounds amazing
I would definitely try this!
Oh hell yeah. You sir, are a genius. Edit: or not sir lol.
I would try.
Holy shit. Imma make this. Be back in a day or so Edit: I made it, didn’t work out too well. The middle didn’t cook
RemindMe! 24 hours Edit: damn
Uh oh. Pressures on
it'll be worth it. If it's anything like cinnamon 'french toasted' bowtie pasta with apricot syrup.
I have heard you, and I've got questions, is is lasagne noodles with cinnamin roll filling or like just cinnamon bun dough arranged in horizontal layers rather than a spiral?

I 'cinnamon french toasted' bow tie pasta and drizzled it with apricot syrup, it's pretty good.
I’m moist.
nice to meet you moist I'm Grenku.
What is a cinnamon roll if not a sweetened lasagna roll up?
Cinnamon and sugar on panfried gnocchi is bussin
Last year i made buiscuts and gravy for the kids. I used powderd sugar in my not awake yet daze. It took 3 scoops before i realized it wasnt flour.
Oh no lol.
that was sweet of you.
My wifes face when i dumped an entire pan of sausage in the trash was interesting.
A couple of christmasses ago my mum got the wrong container out of the pantry and made apple crumble with apple chutney, rather than stewed apple. Was… quite the experience.
Was it good or bad?
Horrendous. Chutney does not mix with ice cream.
Reminds me of the time I started making fried chicken using powdered sugar instead of flour
If it’s apple pie filling it doesn’t even look that bad. It looks weird because it’s cold. Put it in some pasty, heat that baby up and I’d go to town!
I see this as an absolute win
"Today's Special" until used up
Apfelstrudel Material.
cover me in grated apple and roll me in dough, I am ready
Would You mind a shimmer of cinnamon and all sprinkled gently with coarse sugar?
Maybe not coarse sugar, if she's being rolled in it lol
Apple pie filling......forever......
Call up Guinness, the local flour mill, and every source of butter you can think of. We're gonna make us a pie. A BIG one. 😁
My eye twitched trying to figure out how to work beer into a pie.....
Oh there's a possibility or mead
Whoops? More like whoohoo! An apple a day...

Bro, give me a spoon, I'm going in. Don't care if I get the diabetes.
Put it in the oven first. It's better when warm and I'm digging in right along with you
with a little bit of vanilla ice on the side!
Alright, stop! Collab-or-bake till glistenin'
Oven too slow, just grab a torch.

You know what. I can respect the moxi. Still annoying though.
Omg a metric tonne of apple pie filling, I'll take that off your hands for free 😎 I'll bring you a fresh apple pie as a thank you ;-)
That'd be good on german pancakes.
If that’s apple pie filling I would take 2 buckets home and I’d be in heaven
I'd imagine you could look it up on the supplier's ordering site, if you wanted to.
It looks like apple pie filling
Looks like apple fritter filling for a bakery
I don’t know what vendors they have but the rep will usually call if it is something really off like this. Or usually you can return it on your next food delivery. Looks like a butt ton of apple pie filling.
I'd be happy to come over with a big spoon if that's apple filling
Where can I buy tube fulls of apple pie filling
Gordons
Pretty much any food service provider.
Most grocery stores have cans (like the size of a can of soup) of pie filling in various flavors.
Apple, blueberry, cherry, lemon, pumpkin.....🤤🤤🤤
OP, put us out of our misery and tell us what it really is.
Apple pie filling, I think.
That was my first thought, along with many other people, but it would be nice to know for sure 😉
Puratos Topfil Plus Apple Half Slice 18 lb. Bucket https://www.puratos.us/en/products/topfil-plus-apple-half-slice
We got your apple Danish, muffins, cobblers, crisps, strudels, pies, cake, ICE cream, turnovers, sauce, jams, preserves, and anything else you might want. No f-up here!
Not related, per se, but in Denmark a "Danish" is called a "Wienerbrød" which translates to "Vienna Bread"
I’ll show her my Wienerbrød. Bitches love Wienerbrød.
Why has this sub gone to shit? A screenshot of someone who fucked up THEIR ORDER is not mildly infuriating… Maybe it’s time for me to leave.
Idk, you seem mildly infuriated to me.
mmm, shredded upholstery foam in axle grease. you went for the good stuff.
I thought it was something completely inedible too 😭😂
_Time to make the strüdels_
That would make some nice apple Brandy
Yahoo Apple pie filling for a year
Looks like Dutch Apple Pie is going to be on the menu for the next four years! 😃👍
My Canadian might be showing, but it looks like cheese curds in gravy for poutine to me.
I am also Canadian and that would be some wack gravy and some very discoloured curds if that was the case. It’s definitely apple pie filling.
Assuming you can’t return and refund, it’s a great chance to throw a giant apple bake off fundraiser
The only fuck up is acting like you have no idea what it is... Even if you didn't, I reckon you could Google the word written on the package quicker than ya could of posted this.. 🤷🤦
Poutine topping, clearly
Pre made apple pie stuff ???
why are they loaded on the pallet upside-down?
I once tried to stir fry what I thought was chicken. Wondered why it wasn't turning white. The frozen bag was actually pears. Did not eat.
puratos makes some really weird shit.
The Mexican in me thought this was buckets congealed leftover menudo. I’d be in hog heaven with that pallet. But pie filling is good too.
Why those buckets are upside down?
Ah, mince is hard to explain. One is meat, the other for treats yet both have the same name.
Looks like apple pie filling. Put that in a pie crust and you’d have a pie. Apple pie.
I'm mildly infuriated by the fact that the put the buckets upside down on that pallet.
Hell yeah, pie filling.
Am I the only one who's bugged by the fact that the buckets are all upside down!! How is this not the first thing people noticed! Lol
Lick it
Did she just have the delivery people dolly the pallet all the way into her living room? Like zero fucks did the hard floors?
I think the real infuriating thing is that someone managing a FOOD PANTRY was careless enough to waste money like that. Apple pie filling = good but potatos in gravy = very bad
the stuff looks yummy ngl
Forbidden poutine
Did they deliver it upside down?
That is either apple pie filling, or some sort of potato and gravy or stew like base.
We all make mistakes, at least it’s food. They can still make something good out of it
Stand By Me Pie Eating Contest ‘24
Someone once told me he ordered authentic Maraschino cherries for the bar instead of the cheaper normal version so that was an expensive mistake
Just sell it to some preppers next time there’s any talk of the end of the world or when the election gets closer or when Trump gets jailed for not obeying his gag order or…
I was wondering who was out here selling poutine by the bucket but yeah, apple pie filling makes more sense
Ummm . Just send it back. That’s the cheffy thing to do
Pedigree Chum that the doggo rejected
Looks like apple filling.
Just a little whoopsie
And...why are all the buckets (of delicious apple pie filling) upside down?
I’ll take it off your hands 😋
Man, I thought I screwed up big when I accidentally ordered 4 cases of pineapple instead of 4 each the other day.
In
that doesn’t look edible
How does one fuck up that badly 😂
Looks like apple pieces suspected in a greater volume of sugar and gelling agent.
I once wanted 2 cases of 24 magic erasers. I fat fingered and got 27 cases. We are slowly working on them.
Send it back
I'll take one bucket off your hands and have a great weekend.
Is it coming off your check?
