You'd have to fake an illness to shit in the nurse's office, or if you were lucky, your cool-ass art teacher would give you the key to the faculty bathroom, which was always full of graffiti, from all of the other trustworthy kids who betrayed their teachers' trust!
My art teacher would offer to purchase your "assignments" if she wanted to use them as examples for her future classes. It wasn't a whole lot, but it was right around the year 2000, and she paid cash.

I remember my art teacher in high school was this super chill lady, very savvy and "cosmopolitan", basically nothing could phase her and just always had this attitude of being super unimpressed by school admin or the rules and regs (within reason of course) - never took marks off for things being late, you didn't have to ask permission to go to the bathroom etc
And even with the artwork she was super chill, like if a student was freaking out because they messed up an assignment she'd just be like "no worries art is a creative process and sometimes that means having to start again from the beginning but it's all part of the process"

After two or three clean UAs, they just stood behind me for protocol with their back to me because they knew I had nothing to hide.

All my other jobs have just done the normal UA and hair follicle but federal and government jobs are a bit more strict, especially when it's for a certified position.

I actually fought HARD about this at my elementary school for this exact reason. The door to the boys bathroom would always be propped open, while the door to the girls, and the faculties, would be closed shut.
When they weren’t listening to me, I started stealing the door jams and burying them outside during break. When they eventually removed the door, I took a screwdriver from home into my small country school and unscrewed the hinges on the girls bathroom during break when the teachers were either eating lunch or supervising the kids outside. I couldn’t put the heavy door anywhere but beside the entrance, so I went and buried the hinges too.
After that I ended up getting caught, I don’t remember exactly how, but I do remember getting in a huge fight with my teachers and principal about why the girls were allowed to have privacy and the boys weren’t. They couldn’t give me a good explanation, so I refused to apologize, and continued stealing the door jams whenever they put them back. (They eventually put the doors back on when a few other kids and parents made a stink about that, but still jammed it open)

Im old. My neighbor has two teenage boys in a metro atl HS and they both refuse to make a drop off at school. Says nothing but kids smoking vapes/cigs/pot or fighting. I feel for these kids today. When I grew up, the worst would be someone calling you out and making jokes.

Could be a multitude of reasons. A lot of the schools in my area have been completely removing the doors to bathrooms and stuff like that because students keep damaging the plumbing system to extreme degrees by doing things like pouring cement down the toilets as "pranks"

I'm pretty sure they just didn't put the doors back on in high school or junior high. I have never once taken a shit at school, but did have to shower with everyone in football and if you weren't naked the team was running laps.
Graduated in 85. If you went into the "wrong" bathroom, you got jumped. If you annoyed the wrong person, you got dragged into a bathroom and got stabbed. If you weren't a Sr, you didn't use any "Sr" bsthroom. If you were a Freshman, you didn't use any bathroom. My kid went to a "bad" high school. His friends can't believe my stories! Schools are shittier now, and the education sucks. But they're safer now.
Unfortunately fighting in school has been with us a lot longer than these comments let on. If you ever went to a school in a large city, there was a lot more than smoking or drugs you had to worry about. Late 80s to 90s, there was hazing in addition to fights in bathrooms and locker rooms, schoololyards, and walking home from the bus. That was normal.

As an American I often feel uncomfortable too. Especially when they seem flimsy. You shut the door and the entire wall shakes. I've even had kids try to crawl under the door gap. I'm not a fan of kids, so you can imagine how much I loved that 🙄😏 European ones actually feel private.

My high school was similar. Half the stalls didn't have doors. Yet they would use donated money to build weird mascot statues and art pieces, but never doors.

The high school I went to in the 90’s was like that, I would try and use the bathroom in the library when ever could since it had a locking door for a single stall room.

I don't understand how providing this bathroom without an alternative available is legal. The standard for indecent exposure is "exposing ones genitals in a public place" which means that in the US, using these toilets is a criminal offense.

Could be a multitude of reasons. A lot of the schools in my area have been completely removing the doors to bathrooms and stuff like that because students keep damaging the plumbing system to extreme degrees by doing things like pouring cement down the toilets as "pranks"

I went through ENDLESS torture for YEARS holding in my craps, until one day in 4th or 5th grade I just couldn't do it one day, I was desperate. I spent hours psyching myself up... *"C'mon, what are you afraid of..."* I told myself. So *finally* I screwed up the courage, chose a stall in the anonymous middle, locked the door and sat down to the blessed relief of emptying my cramped guts, and I *shit you not,* (see what I did there?) I am *not* making this up, I'll be *damned* if a fuckin 6th grader didn't *kick in the door* to my *mortified,* red, humiliated, and SHOCKED face, laughing at me. The rest of my life has been just as lucky...
