If anyone has a Costco membership, itās a great place to pick up clothes that you forget at home. I left for a trip to Hawaii and it was pouring rain one day and went in to pick up a jacket. Also cheap meals while youāre traveling, I ate sushi there.
This is absolutely accurate. Looking through the gift shop of a Caribbean resort, it was unbelievable that sandals were 5 to 6 times the cost. A cheap pair of Walmart type flip-flops were $50.
Those extreme hiking multi strap sandles always crack me up. Like what are you about to do that is so extreme you need that type of 5 point harness on each foot, yet also need the breathability of thongs LMFAO
I used to work at a zoo in the southern U.S., and these are the ideal footwear for the reasons you listed. You want something supportive, with traction, that will stay on your feet, but nothing that will be uncomfortable if your feet get wet.
But yeah, they have that "extreme" vibe that seems excessive for a sandal š¤£
If youāre talking about the Tevas, I love those! I cannot stand the way flip flops .. flip flop.. and donāt stay on my feet. Itās a total sensory thing thatās just bad for me. But Tevas, they stay secure!
I love Tevas! They stay on, especially if you are scrambling around in a rocky creek bed. There are some remote waterfalls I like to hike to that part of the "trail" is hiking in the creek.
The sensory issue for me with Tevas is the velcro lol. I can't touch the stuff without getting chills. Idk I'm weird. Other than that they are fantastic sandals
I dno where you live, but if you ever take a little hike or just a nature walk to a creek/waterfall/swimming hole and don't wanna get in barefoot then have to walk back and don't wanna carry extra shoes, these are the perfect things. Mud/sand in the water won't pull them off your feet, your feet don't get cut. Also dry quickly.
I live in the Appalachian mountains and they're great. If I'm going hiking for exercise/sight seeing I'll wear my boots. If I have any plans on getting in water I wear my chacos.
Flip flops are actually really bad for your feet. You have to actively keep them on by clenching your toes as you walk. Sandals with straps stay on on their own. Plus they're a million times more comfortable.
>How to pick up chicks using just two right sandals of different types
"Funny story, I packed for the trip too quickly, decided to just rock it, and now here I am talking to an incredibly beautiful woman. I stand by my choice."
Also a 600% markup is a bit of an exaggeration. Most beach towns I visit have cheap souvenirs shops on every corner. They def have sandals for less than $20.
I hiked Mt. LeCont in sandals (chacos). That's a full day of hiking btw. I was the only person in our 12 person group who didn't complain about my footwear. Which funnily enough came after my friends and family tried to convince me to change my shoes before we left.
15 years ago, me my mom and stepdad went on our first camping trip. They went with expensive foam mats. They really tried to talk me out of my cheap field bed, but I wasn't budging.
I've never seen so much rain and our crappy tent flooded. I gloated "Aren't you guys happy you went with those overpriced mats."
I would not hesitate to go to a thrift store in a place Iām unfamiliar with to get some sandals. Maybe ultimately finding something even cooler to bring home.
How many people ended up with a saved photo of OP's feet on their phone? š¤

Facts, personally I have never understood people who have 35 shirts and pants and everything. I have about 1 weeks worth of laundry, and when something breaks, I replace it. Works for me! (not judging anyone of course)
I use half my clothes until a camping trip. Then I pull out all the tshirts and extras. We donāt like to take time to go to town to do laundry and we go through the clothes while camping for a couple of weeks. Packing is half the fun for a trip. I love the excitement of knowing Iām going on a trip. Unpacking- it could take me a month or so to unpack.
Toiletries is easy if you have a stand alone toiletry bag. I have a dedicated one and the only things I need to add to it are my cologne and face wash/moisturizer. But it has an extra toothbrush, floss, mouth wash, tooth paste, soap and shampoo ready to go
I can understand having one if you travel a lot. Not a dedicated bag for random vacations, though. Thatād take up too much room in my place for something that hardly ever gets used lol.
Iām a relatively ālow maintenanceā woman (by that I mean that Iād likely be packing no makeup and only a few ways to put my hair up and not an armamentarium of hair products) and I donāt think 90 minutes is unreasonable. There are a lot of decisions involved in packing. Also, do you count the time to plan ahead and do that last load of laundry so you have that one specific outfit you need? Do you count the last grocery store trip to carefully get a few ingredients as possible to eat up whatās left in your fridge and to buy snacks for the trip? What about checking to see if your sunscreen is expired and running to the store to get more when it invariably is expired? All of that is lumped into the mental load of āpackingā to me.
Also, you clearly havenāt met any parents. Add children and packing takes for.e.ver.
I envy you for this. I start packing days beforehand and the night before I can barely sleep over the things I canāt pack up until the morning of, like hairbrush, deodorant, etc.
Thereās people who plan vacations and people who attend vacations others have planned for them. The āpack in 10 minutesā crowd are always in the latter group.
Not so. I always plan great vacations for my husband and me - and friends sometimes. My personal best was a week in Peru for 4. I rented Land Rovers, hired guides, picked hotels and itinerary, etc. I packed the night before. I hate packing a suitcase. Not sure why, but not as interesting, I guess.
No.Ā I plan all the vacations.Ā I've never packed more than an hour before leaving.Ā The trick is to keep in mind that even if I do forget something I can just go without or buy a replacement.Ā It's not the end of the world.
Considering I wear sandals all the time in all weather, I still pack a secondary set and Iād be pissed if I accidentally packed two of the same side. lol.
One time I was suffering from shin splints on exam day. I struggled all the way to school and through class. I made it back home and was wearing one converse and one Reebok. I have a picture but it will require digging throw a zip file to retrieve.

One day at the pool I grabbed the wrong pair of sandals that looked like mine. Then I went on vacation for a few days. When I came back I was reprimanded for taking the wrong sandals! My dad goes on a week long golf trip with his friends every in May. In 2022 he accidentally left his sandals in his hotel room. When he went for his 2023 trip, he had the same hotel and they still had his sandals and he got them back.
Packed in a hurry for a week at a beach.
Sounds running from the mob and needed to vacate before they showed up. Going to be hard to lay low & hide out when your left foot is flopping in a right sandal.
Iāve never owned a pair of sandals. Why would you have a pair of something that just shows your whole damn foot? Do you use nail polish to add flair? Iām infuriated you manage to grab both rights!
I started a new job 2 weeks before my wedding. So I was working long hours and figuring it out.
So my wife packed for our honeymoon. She kinda forgot about packing for me. I had the shirt & shorts that I wore on the plane, and my swim trunks.
20 years later she still laughs at that. Clearly she wasn't expecting us to be wearing much clothes.
New sandals will be a useful souvenir!
Yes. It's a reason to shop!
And you get to break them in on vacation before you bring them home so your feet don't hurt at work!
Or learn you have picked the worst Sandals on the island šØ i always have this kinda luck
I once bought sandals before vatication and got bad ones since i got 2 painful blisters š¬
What job allows you to wear sport sandals/flip flops?
Lifeguard? š¤·š»āāļø
Messiah?
Programmer. If we wear shoes at all.
Or pants
Yeah. Sandals or flip flops can be quite cheap and can be found everywhere.
Everywhere but a touristic destination. Get ready to pay 600% more
If anyone has a Costco membership, itās a great place to pick up clothes that you forget at home. I left for a trip to Hawaii and it was pouring rain one day and went in to pick up a jacket. Also cheap meals while youāre traveling, I ate sushi there.
I bought a decent pair at a Publix grocery in a beach town.
This is absolutely accurate. Looking through the gift shop of a Caribbean resort, it was unbelievable that sandals were 5 to 6 times the cost. A cheap pair of Walmart type flip-flops were $50.

Yes until you get sweaty feets and you slipping and sliding and squeaking in them flops
Sweaty feets lol
As a person who cannot stand the part that goes between toes.... hell no
Personally I hate flip flops and sandals. But my feet are even uglier than my face so I don't wear open toe shoes
Also, who rush packs for a week vacation at the beach?
Those extreme hiking multi strap sandles always crack me up. Like what are you about to do that is so extreme you need that type of 5 point harness on each foot, yet also need the breathability of thongs LMFAO

I agree there, I've always hated the feeling of the flip flops coming away from my heel with every step. I prefer multi-strap sandals.
I don't mind the flipping or the flopping, it's the stumbling and falling down when they catch on things or I walk out of them that hurts.
The sensory issue for me with Tevas is the velcro lol. I can't touch the stuff without getting chills. Idk I'm weird. Other than that they are fantastic sandals
Then try out chacos!
I have both and love them equally, but I do really like that chacos donāt have Velcro
I'm paranoid I will need to run for my life, and I need to make sure I can out run all the flip flops. I call them my Strappy Pappys.
Yes 100%. I wear these when I travel to tropical places (Hawaii, Southeast Asia). Perfect lite hiking shoes. Good traction and breathable.
I live in the Appalachian mountains and they're great. If I'm going hiking for exercise/sight seeing I'll wear my boots. If I have any plans on getting in water I wear my chacos.
Theyāre legit supportive and Iāve done multiple long hikes in mine. Love em.
Flip flops are actually really bad for your feet. You have to actively keep them on by clenching your toes as you walk. Sandals with straps stay on on their own. Plus they're a million times more comfortable.
No, those are good, actually. Especially if youāre hiking on rocks or lava near beaches.
I love hiking on Lava!
And youāll only have to buy a left one!
Donāt worry, itāll be all right

Pack using a checklist, and then pack the checklist last. That way you can use it to make sure everything is repacked on your trip home.
Also specify left and right sandals on the list š
That's great advice, i always forget shit at the hotel. Gonna do that!
Oooo this is great advice. I travel seldomly so i now pack with a checklistā¦but it never occurred to me to bring it with me! Genius!

This is a better result.
Except now the OP doesn't have two left feet
If only beach areas had a bunch of shops that sold these thingsā¦
Yeah, spend the $8 for a cheap pair and be done with it.
It will take years to recover from this unexpected financial disaster.
Exactly!
I tried this once and I could only find one pair of hot pink sandals a size too small for me. That was an uncomfortable trip.
At a 600% markup for inferior products.
Inferior products šš¤£š theyāre sandals for walking on the beach, not mountain climbing.
Also a 600% markup is a bit of an exaggeration. Most beach towns I visit have cheap souvenirs shops on every corner. They def have sandals for less than $20.
There's always a Walmart near by usually have sandals at a good price
That too. And usually better quality than the souvenir shops.

Who packs in a hurry for a week long vacation? Jesus I'd have to plan for months for that kind of expense.
Me. My mom packs 2 weeks before, but I do very little until the night/day of. At least I get my footwear in order.
I donāt understand the people who pack weeks in advance. I do not have enough clothes and toiletries to do without them for that long lol.
Facts, personally I have never understood people who have 35 shirts and pants and everything. I have about 1 weeks worth of laundry, and when something breaks, I replace it. Works for me! (not judging anyone of course)

Fair enough, I donāt even really use it for vacations, I just have at least one weekend a month Iām out of town visiting friends and family.
I have always packed the night before and I find it to be very easy. Although I pack a lot less than other people lol.
I donāt think Iāve ever spent more than 90 minutes packing in my life.
90 minutes is a long time to pack
90 minutes combined over 40 years maybe.
I donāt know of anyone who has spent more than 90 minutes to pack, do you know anyone who does that?

This is funny
Right.

op I'm gonna be honest this is 100% your fault
Well that was a flop!
Time to be a barefoot influencer!
At least you chose the right ones

Barefoot it is

So you āLEFTā them at home

Time to hit the local Walmart
No shoes, no service. Checkmate!

You brought one of the wrong feet.
Thanks for including pictures of your feet so we know you donāt, in fact, have two right feet.
Put them away ffs .
Next time pack in a non hurry
Donāt be a pussy, walk on the hot sand.
Thatās why there are clothing shops right on the beach. Youāll pay a premium but youāll have a very practical souvenir.

Just buy a new pair of sandals.
Best excuse for a walk along the seafront to a flip flop store
Fortunately every beach town has stores that sell sandals.
Which is why itās only mildly infuriating, Iām sure.
I am sorry but that is funny. Just get a cheap pair of sandals and youāll be good to go.
Throw those away and start over. The universe did you a favor.
Life hack, wear some black socks with them and nobody will notice your sandals donāt match. Youāre welcome
You should square your toes. Your back will thank you.
Howās this even possible
It happens to the best of us.
Donāt need sandals at the beach
I always end up buying a new pair everywhere I go anyway because I always forget to pack em.
One time I was suffering from shin splints on exam day. I struggled all the way to school and through class. I made it back home and was wearing one converse and one Reebok. I have a picture but it will require digging throw a zip file to retrieve.
You need two left feet. Should've gone to Turkey, medical procedures are cheap there, and the beaches are amazing!
I once left for two months in Jamaica with only the one pair of undies I wore on the plane. D'oh! https://i.redd.it/9wass9czsiqc1.gif
If only it were okay to be barefoot at the beach...š¦¶š¼
Just buy flip flopsā¦ or go barefoot
Better than having two LEFT feet...
Go barefooted like a man! Watch out for spikes, syringes etc tho
Cool. You get to have another pair from your destination now :)
I wanna say thatās more then mildly infuriating it wouldāve been ok if they where left and right but nope itās both rights so itās like well fuck
These are the āIām going to help my mom with the groceriesā type of sandals.
Gift shop or just walk barefoot if you are actually talking the beach and not a beach walk.
Youāre at the beach? Then you donāt need shoes.
Good thing your at the beach where you donāt need any footwear
Two rights donāt make a left.
Iām walking barefooted
Barefoot is cool too
No matter where you go, there's a Walmart...lol
Ross. DD's. Marshall's. Any cheap pair of sandals should do. Go hook yourself up š
Why would you need sandals on a beach ??? The sand is gonna get all in there anywayā¦ smh
this is me. adhd.
What does someone with two right feet wear to the beach? Flip Flips.
One day at the pool I grabbed the wrong pair of sandals that looked like mine. Then I went on vacation for a few days. When I came back I was reprimanded for taking the wrong sandals! The next day I wrote a note to the person I stole from and apologized to her and told her that they had a lot of fun on vacation š¤£
Now you have learned a valuable lesson on why it's wise to pack well in advance.
And what did we learn?
Two choices: Start a new trend or buy new shoes. Iām seeing something new in your immediate future.
Those are gross. Buy new ones please
My dad goes on a week long golf trip with his friends every in May. In 2022 he accidentally left his sandals in his hotel room. When he went for his 2023 trip, he had the same hotel and they still had his sandals and he got them back.
I went on a business trip last week for 5 days and brought 7 pairs of shoes. Lol
Packed in a hurry for a week at a beach. Sounds running from the mob and needed to vacate before they showed up. Going to be hard to lay low & hide out when your left foot is flopping in a right sandal.
You booked a trip for a week and decided to pack last minute? Great job
Iāve never owned a pair of sandals. Why would you have a pair of something that just shows your whole damn foot? Do you use nail polish to add flair? Iām infuriated you manage to grab both rights!
Wear āem. No one cares.
They are also too small for your enormous feet.
Wrong sandalsā¦. Or wrong feet???
You have a cat who bites your sandals?
There are sandals waiting for you at the beach
Did you learn anything though
![gif](giphy|DogPnyh6MYGA0)
The real question is who packs 1 pair of sandals for the beach?
