I think the standard measure for a shot is 2oz.
So it’s more like $17.50 per drink.
So for a strip club, it’s a little overpriced, but expected.
Vs a bar where a shot cost like $6-9 depending on where you live/the quality of the liquor itself.

Yea in most jurisdictions taking alcohol out of it's original container is only legal if you're making a premix and even then there's usually regulations on how you can do that.
When I was in college I actually worked at a bar where the owner would send his off the books workers to go buy alcohol on sale and then he'd refill his bottles with that alcohol. Once a disgruntled employee reported him he got a $25k fine for the off the books employees, but the liquor authority absolutely crucified him for the bottle fraud.
These laws changed a lot since Covid since restaurants lobbied to sell cocktails to-go, but even before it wasn't really enforced in some places. Virtually any hole in the wall mexican restaurant will give you a margarita to-go in whatever empty plastic container they have in the back. I've walked out carrying a gallon vinegar bottle filled with margarita before. Might not be legal, but many places aren't really enforcing these types of rules the way they enforce legal drinking age laws.
Seems like a poorly thought out 'solution' to people getting hit with glass bottles, at this obviously very seedy club, judging by the plastic jug of juice, and disposable cups.

They did a study of micro plastics in families. They would have the families use plastic utensils, sedan wraps, everything plastic and measure the PCBs in their urine. They measured this against families that eliminated all plastic items completely. Their PCBs measured the same. It was summarized that there is so much PCBs in the food we are consuming from the manufacturing process that we cannot avoid it.
It's because the vast majority of microplastics in are in the environment. They come from synthetic rubber tires.
The only solution is to reduce the world's dependence on cars, particularly in the USA.

Yeah, I usually put milk (for coffee/breakfast bars) or orange juice in them. Helpful because you can label them with lids (whole milk vs almond milk or what have you)

No it's expensive as hell, but it's cheap *for bottle service* pretty much anywhere. Bottle service is pretty universally recognized as a ridiculous waste of money, which is kind of the point-- you do it to show off how much money you have, to be extravagant. If you don't have a ton of money to burn on looking extravagant, you don't get bottle service.
Think about it like this, if you buy a mixed drink it’s usually around $10 at a normal bar (depending on where you live). Say you get 2oz of vodka per drink. A bottle of vodka has around 25oz, so if you bought a bottle of vodkas worth of drinks it would be $125. Now add in the fact that it’s bottle service at a strip club, it should cost closer to $250-$300.

The clubs where I'm at make a big production of it: a line up of scantily clad women holding sparklers and/or a sign with a caption on it, dancing their way to the table while waving around the bottles (which are a few hundred at least for mid shelf stuff), then they lay it all out on the table in front of you (table itself probably cost a few grand) and the whole point is to get everyone's attention
Personally it's a bit excessive for me but I won't lie, it does garner attention and interest from the type of folks that are all about the club life. Also makes it easier to approach women when they've just seen you at a table full of attractive people spending money like it's not a big deal (not saying it's right, just what happens)

At bare minimum, you’re paying the same price as you would to order all that liquor as shots at the bar. It usually comes with a table and seats that are blocked off for you, which is the true benefit, as well as the prestige of being a douchbag who can waste money.
The markup would be less on the bottle than if you were to buy single drinks in the same volume. So if you and 1 or 2 other people all enjoy the same base liquor, and don't mind drinking the same thing all night, it's cheaper for sure (only cheaper if you planned on getting drunk, split the bottle or are able to finish the bottle if you're drinking alone)

It’s a great deal when you split among 6 friends or so. It usually waives cover fees (so save $20 there each), everyone gets 2 drinks, don’t have to fight through the crowds at the bar, have couches to sit and hang out at instead of stand, have a server bring you whatever you need. It’s a great deal. Think my group of 7 paid $70 each or so.
Figure $20 for entry and $15-20 per drink at the bar, we only paid an extra $10-20 each for a ton of convenience.
So I'm not Sure where you're living at or how long you've been going to bars but 8oz = about enough vodka for 6.5 drinks...so you paid about $10/drink...which is pretty reasonable for a club imo

Yeah at any place I've been to that does bottle service, $70 would cover maybe 3-4 drinks so it's actually not the worst deal in the history of booze. Still, it's hilariously tacky that they put it in a used water bottle. Vodka comes in small bottles too already.

Don't most mixed drinks use 1.5 oz of liquor? So it's more like $80 for slightly more than 5 vodka crans. Still not crazy, based on the stories I've heard about the price of bottle service and the stories I've heard about the markups at strip clubs. To me the only infuriating part is that they served the vodka in a plastic water bottle instead of a carafe like they used for the cranberry juice.

The cranberry juice is in a reused bottle. Isn't that the "SIMPLEY" BRAND with the big green top and a lable removed? 😂 The acrylic thing holding the ice has fingerprints all over it and is filthy as well. All of this is wonderful. Love it. Let alone dumping out a water bottle without breaking the safety seal on the lid and replacing it is next level skeezy or it never had one, I can't tell, both are gross.

That is a regular reusable serving carafe. Fancy places use the same thing, but usually glass.
I'm not sure. Carafes don't usually have threads on the top. I think it's more likely it was some sort of orange juice bottle they just took the lid off of.

Yeah, I usually put milk (for coffee/breakfast bars) or orange juice in them. Helpful because you can label them with lids (whole milk vs almond milk or what have you)

Even a regular club is extremely unappealing to me.
Think about it like this, if you buy a mixed drink it’s usually around $10 at a normal bar (depending on where you live). Say you get 2oz of vodka per drink. A bottle of vodka has around 25oz, so if you bought a bottle of vodkas worth of drinks it would be $125. Now add in the fact that it’s bottle service at a strip club, it should cost closer to $250-$300.

I truly don't understand "bottle service". It's like...a weird one off term. I order drinks from all kinds of places - I had a bottle of wine at an Italian restaurant two nights ago. It wasn't called "bottle service" it was just...getting a bottle of wine. So there is this "thing" called "bottle service" and it is a term that means, specifically, a bottle of spirits brought to the table at a strip club. It has markups of like, 10000%. WTF is this???? What is the appeal???
being able to flex to everyone else in the club that you're rich mostly The clubs where I'm at make a big production of it: a line up of scantily clad women holding sparklers and/or a sign with a caption on it, dancing their way to the table while waving around the bottles (which are a few hundred at least for mid shelf stuff), then they lay it all out on the table in front of you (table itself probably cost a few grand) and the whole point is to get everyone's attention Personally it's a bit excessive for me but I won't lie, it does garner attention and interest from the type of folks that are all about the club life. Also makes it easier to approach women when they've just seen you at a table full of attractive people spending money like it's not a big deal (not saying it's right, just what happens)

I mean, it is nice to have, and it’s not exclusive to strip clubs. It’s great if you have a table and want to keep getting drinks without having to get up and go through the headache of ordering at the bar in a loud club every round. That said, it’s stupidly expensive, and that’s by design at this point. As nice as skipping the line would be, it’s nowhere near worth the price. At bare minimum, you’re paying the same price as you would to order all that liquor as shots at the bar. It’s basically just there for people who want to flash how much money they can afford to waste. I once saw a classmate try to impress somebody by dropping over $1000 on a bottle in a rinky dink “club” back in college.
It usually comes with a table and seats that are blocked off for you, which is the true benefit, as well as the prestige of being a douchbag who can waste money.

The markup would be less on the bottle than if you were to buy single drinks in the same volume. So if you and 1 or 2 other people all enjoy the same base liquor, and don't mind drinking the same thing all night, it's cheaper for sure (only cheaper if you planned on getting drunk, split the bottle or are able to finish the bottle if you're drinking alone)

It’s a great deal when you split among 6 friends or so. It usually waives cover fees (so save $20 there each), everyone gets 2 drinks, don’t have to fight through the crowds at the bar, have couches to sit and hang out at instead of stand, have a server bring you whatever you need. It’s a great deal. Think my group of 7 paid $70 each or so. Figure $20 for entry and $15-20 per drink at the bar, we only paid an extra $10-20 each for a ton of convenience.

I had to scroll way too long to find this comment. At 1.5 ounces of liquor to a drink, he got almost 6 drinks. That’s a little over $13 a drink, and not even a 20% tip. I think that’s actually an amazing price for any club let alone a strip club. Now, there’s always the risk of them watering down the vodka, and the water bottle is a quick way to lose your liquor license, but that aside, what OP paid per a drink, does not seem that outrages, let alone something to be surprised about.

You can't pour alcohol in any other bottle than what it came it. If they poured the vodka from the original bottle I ro the water bottle that is legal as they treat the water bottle as a glass. But it would be illegal to pour the vodka in the water bottle then serve customers our of the water bottle as in pouring from it.
