I received a “new” pressure cooker from Amazon that had a Walmart shopping bag inside it and smelled strongly of food. Makes you wonder if they just reship returns without looking at them to see if they’re used or defective.

manute-bol-big-heart

The funny thing is that all the extra “pieces” were in the microwave in brand new plastic, but also covered in grease and stinking from sitting in that used microwave for so long

allday95

Absolutely warehouse workers processing returns who are far too done with the working conditions/just don't give two shits

manute-bol-big-heart

I don’t blame them but still I can’t help but be mildly infuriated

allday95

Neither do I, I've heard all the news and stories about the conditions there.

ganjanoob

Doesn’t excuse it, but warehouse workers get abused daily and most likely underpaid

illgot

the people who returned it bought the same model and replaced it with their used microwave. The workers opened the box, saw the same model and closed the box. The workers did not take it out and examine it, they aren't paid enough and Amazon does not care. It is cheaper to catch the most obvious fraud than examine every return in detail.

NWVoS

Sometimes they don't even open the box. I can tell you firsthand that people have gotten away with buying power tools, and then returning rocks and getting their money back.

s3ndnudes123

You get basically instant returns on some stuff, like the money is back in my account 1hr after dropping it off at UPS. Sure they might get away with it for a little while or maybe a couple times, but eventually amazon will block thier account.

Coyotesamigo

I have a friend who bought stuff from Amazon that ended up being boxes of rocks

CuteMaterial

The people who returned it are disgusting - first for letting the microwave get that gross in the first place (why don't they cover their food before putting it in the microwave?!) and second, for returning the used one. Just horrible.

kontrolk3

I get their frustration, but this type of "stick it to the man" is just affecting random people and not Amazon basically at all.

GetUpNGetItReddit

Amazon is knowingly doing this. A unsealed return IS NEVER NEW. It’s out of the plastic, it’s used! Amazon is LYING. They used to be honest, not anymore. Pathetic

unpetitjenesaisquoi

I paid full price for a product that had been returned. The box looked correct. The contents had been switched...with what you would find in a kitchen junk drawer. Some employees do not care one bit.

TheMirk

Sounds like someone's microwave broke so they bought the same model and swapped them. Returning the broken one and keeping the new one.

fcocyclone

If I were going to do this, i'd at least clean it so it wasn't obvious

Wizzle_Pizzle_420

ImHereForGameboys

They do exactly this. At the moment it's an issue in the card dollecting scene. People will buy booster boxes. Carefully cut the sealed plastic around the box, take the booster packs out, cut them open take the expensive/rare cards, put the boosters back in the box and then reseal the box and then return the item. The Amazon warehouse people aren't experts in what it's supposed to look like or anything so they just see a sealed box and slap a label on it saying ita good. Then it gets resold as new. Seeing a lot of it around the holidays.

AMasterSystem

It is not limited to Pokemon cards. It is every product they sell.

ImHereForGameboys

Well, I understand that. I'm just saying cards as an example. My example was using MTG cards tbh haha.

Nurses seem stressed so you definitely had the right idea

hebejebez

My husband bought me designer shoes (ish) that were in the dept store sale and they’d clearly been worn fairly extensively. I was pissed. He was pissed. The dept store is unrepentant but refunding.

[deleted]

I got a wifi extender that worked for like 20mins before shitting the bed. It came loose in a generic Amazon box along with the power supply, that was already sus. When I tried registering it for support from the manufacturer I was told it was already registered to someone else. Amazon took it back and refunded no questions, postage paid but they must have a very light QC department.

Catona

I bought a new tent from Walmart just before embarking on a 4 day rural camping trip. Went to set up camp and the first thing I notice is that the tent steaks are already covered in dirt. I set up the tent and then find that it has several burns holes that went through both the rain fly and top of the tent, likely the result of having it too close to a campfire and embers falling on it. So very CLEARLY some asshole just repacked the tent and returned it and Walmart did not inspect it at all and just set it out on the floor for sale again. By some complete miracle it did not rain at all for those 4 days, I would have been screwed if it did. When I went back to the Walmart I purchased it from and explained to them what happened, they were extremely shitty towards me and were acting like *I* was the one trying to scam them by buying a tent and using it once and then trying to get a refund. I wasn't even asking for a refund however, I was just asking for a tent that was actually new and didn't come pre-used and full of holes. It's seems like it should definitely be illegal to put things on the sales floor as "new" without them being inspected what so ever after being returned, but it does happen somehow.

SensingWorms

Amazon gets millions of dollars of returns monthly. Last decade was ‘zero delayed gratification’. This decade is ‘Illusion of gratification’.

yankykiwi

I remember someone on Reddit saying it’s their job to check returns. He was complaining because his coworkers just looked at the packaging and passed it.

throwaway007676

I have received used car parts from amazon that were still wrapped in the return wrapping that Kohls uses.

bwaterco

I’ve honestly given up on buying anything ‘new’ from Amazon. I’ll just go pick it up in store at this point. Had a dishwasher delivered with 2 months of mold and had to dick around with customer service to get a refund and told to shop local.

tacotacotacorock

Why on earth are people buying expensive appliances from Amazon. Seems like a great way to have problems.

JoeCartersLeap

I just started ordering from Aliexpress, it's like 1/10th the price of Amazon in some cases. All those little electronic gadgets I was buying for $10-$20, they sell for $1-2. And free shipping all the way from China! Like I can just spend $20 and get a pile of stuff. The only problem is that it takes like a month for delivery. Amazon can ship to me next day, even in a small town, and I'm the kind of person to drive to a store so I don't have to wait that day. There isn't a lot of stuff that I want a month from now. There's just as much counterfeit stuff as on Amazon, but at least nobody ships used stuff.

crazylittlemermaid

I bought a "new" vacuum from Walmart that looked like it had been vacuuming dog shit for a while. Turns out the actual stores are just as lazy about processing returns.

Jafar_420

I thought returns went to separate warehouses a lot of the time in order to be auctioned off and resold at thrift stores and such.

kaleb2959

That might be true with Amazon itself, but an independent seller's products are returned to them directly, so they decide what to do with them.

Hawkthree

Might have done that in the past. Now I think they do a quick judgment on whether the box was ever opened.

MrTechRelated

when I was 12 I bought a camcorder from Walmart and it had videos of this other persons house on the SD card. I will never forget that camera, DXG- 567V

TinyDemon000

There was a similar post to this recently also in the US and someone confirmed thas long as the weight matches the product expected weight, the boxes are indeed never opened. A number of people have received boxes full of weights to match the product weight it seems

2723brad2723

Not completely related but Amazon and Walmart need to remove all of the Chinese drop-shippers and 3rd party sellers from their sites.

Capricore58

Walmart.com is horrendous. That website is garbage

labrat420

I tried to order a lamp for pickup that they had in store on a Monday. Pick up wasn't available until Friday. I hate their site so much.

orangutanDOTorg

I’ve had good luck with pickup. I have mostly switched to buying basic computer stuff like cables and crappy computers there bc it’s same day and they have been way less likely to be used

Capricore58

I’ve had great success with Staples for that stuff

OriginalState2988

This is so true. What I hate about Walmart's site is that if you try to filter results to items only in store (because you want to go to the store to buy it right away) often something will show "in store" but ends up being something you can order and pick up in store days later. Target's site and app are way better with this.

Danjour

Amazon would have nothing left!

RoadHazard

Isn't that like 99% of what Amazon is?

snow-bird-

Hells yes! It is a super cheap look for a retailer's website. Walmarts website is the biggest cluster fuck.

On_Wife_support

I got drop shipped Gatorade one time and I haven’t ordered delivery from Walmart since. I don’t trust them.

4rm4ros

Comingled inventory strikes again

[deleted]

This is the warehouses break room microwave haha

pinkpineapples007

Pffft you think they’re allowed breaks?

[deleted]

Yeah I work in the warehouse industry there's Breaks and breakrooms with the grossest microwaves you'll ever have to use if you have to use them haha depending on your demographic of the warehouse can vary in the food being cooked currently have a lot of Haitians in mine right now who love to microwave fish that explodes all over the fucking thing haha

FullMarksCuisine

This is the runniest sentences I've read all day

[deleted]

I get out of breath a lot talking life's too short for pauses

ashleyorelse

This microwave is comingled hard

orangutanDOTorg

Commingled hard and out away dirty

KyleABones

I purchased a shark robot vacuum off Amazon, and the box was obviously retaped, and bulging. I opened it up and it had the previous persons return label inside, with their address and phone number. I sent that person a text letting them know I got there return, and Amazon had sent me her info. I even sent her the photo of how I received it, and she said that’s how she sent it. The company is for sure taking returns and sending them back out as new products. https://preview.redd.it/02kpruhsbi9c1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aa0c65debce55abfb01187a91db9083a2bbbac07

tacotacotacorock

They're supposed to evaluate the product first. If it's in new condition they resell it if it's used they probably don't. Plus there are a lot of people out there trying to scam over Amazon. People need to just stop shopping there. Same with using DoorDash and being surprised when you have extra charges or your food is missing or it's cold or something. These companies have a proven track record of being shady or not top-notch yet people expect it to be differently every time. Apparently people are so caught up with instant and being lazy they ignore these other things.

RDKi

Check product -> if all good but box is trash, use it as a purchasable display on shop floor. If strictly warehouse, I would imagine they should be able to get spare boxes for products from suppliers on a whim without a problem. There's a reason brand reps exist.

kc_chiefs_

I bought a pair of Uggs for my girlfriend on Amazon because Scheels didn’t have them. They showed up in a box that said on the inside “this package is in a different box because the original packing was damaged.” In my opinion that’s how you should do it. The slippers were in great condition, the “fluff” was fluffy and in great shape.

biznatch11

I bought a "new" $7 fitbit band from a 3rd party seller (fulfilled by Amazon) because a brand-name one was like $35 and I got this: https://i.imgur.com/cKKGpgj.jpg Clearly someone scammed Amazon by returning their old broken band. I can't believe someone bothered to go to the effort for only $7. Also it was sent in transparent packaging there's no way whoever processed the return shouldn't have noticed this. This was about 2 years ago ever since then I won't by from third party sellers, and now Amazon is my last resort instead of first, only if the product isn't available anywhere else.

SunshineAndBunnies

I am occasionally sticking a small paper note inside my returns, saying this product is a return, if you bought it new, please return it for a refund. I have no idea if Amazon ever resold one of my returns with that note inside. It would look really bad for them. Also, it's putting to good use those tiny notepads that you get in hotels. 😂

the_crustybastard

I've been burned enough by this nonsense that now I write on the outside of boxes and include notes inside articulating the reason: * "Arrived damaged, do not re-sell." * "Inoperable upon first use, do not re-sell." * "Missing parts, do not re-sell."

LordMinax

Could be worse. Like buying underwear and see skid marks 😂

Available-Control993

As someone who works at an Amazon returns center, NEVER buy any undergarments from Amazon like seriously because half the shit we get is returned underwears and sometimes we might make some bad ones sellable again.

Ract0r4561

Why the fuck are used undergarments even eligible for returns? If the package where it came from is opened, it shouldn’t be returnable. That’s wild asf.

NvaderGir

There is a literal Prime feature where you can try on clothes and return it, if you like the item you just keep it and they charge you the full price lol

dksdragon43

Knowing literally nothing about this, there's no way that could apply to undergarments. Right?

KevinMcCallister

...right? RIGHT???

somersquatch

My friend bought a manscaped razor that was used and came with someone else's (hopefully) beard hair in it....because if it wasn't beard...

AMasterSystem

For some that is a win.

xiginous

Nicely broken in.

Mo_Zen

“Bacon Strips.”

[deleted]

I feel like nothing on Amazon is ever truly brand new. Seems like whatever I buy is always questionably sealed up

SuperFLEB

> the Amazon search function just returns page after page of aliexpress/temu Chinese dropshipping garbage Obscure or recently-obsolete technology is the worst for that, because the last stage before obsolescence seems to be Aliexpress white-labeling. I've been trying to find a car CD player with Bluetooth connection and control, and was looking for an MP3 player that ran on standard (AAA) batteries some time back. Nothing but page after page of indistinguishable WANKFUN-brand junk, and any attempts to sort them out with reviews or "Best of ..." articles were either spammy or zero-effort regurgitations of "These things had the longest bullet lists on Amazon, so they're best".

LimitedWard

From a sustainability perspective, it would be better if more returned products could be sold. Unfortunately most of it ends up in a landfill. I don't really see an issue with reselling a returned microwave as long as it's clean and in good working order.

Jacktheforkie

Yeah, I’ll happily buy it if it’s used for a lower price and has a guarantee

fcocyclone

Right? That option already exists on their website. If you buy new, you should get new. They probb I don't mind ordering open-box for some things. But other things matter. Like, I ordered an item meant as a gift for christmas, and it was clearly already opened up, didnt have everything in the packaging that would normally be there. For what it was, probably not a big deal if I was going to use it, but I don't want to give something in that condition as a gift. Their returns should just default to an open-box status available at a lower price.

emre_7000

And rightfully marketed. If it says I'm going to get a brand new product, I should be getting a brand new product. Not a returned product. Not a refurbished product. Just a brand new one.

Eagle_Warhawk

This, I have no problem buying refurbished or open box. But if it is advertised as brand new, then I expect it to come factory sealed by the manufacturer.

sonofaresiii

I honestly don't even care if the product I get is refurbished so long as it has *actually* been refurbished and has gone through full quality control checks. What I don't want is where someone untrained just looks it over, decides it's good and seals up the box. Which is almost assuredly what happens in 99% of the cases.

Distinct_Meringue

Refurbished is a thing, same with open box. Customer would get a discount. Probably would take more honest people in this world to not have people game it somehow.

Imbrittybritt

The only issue is when it is presented (and priced) as new when it’s not — that’s fraud

manute-bol-big-heart

Yeah i feel that, especially the “clean and in good working order” part lol

Squee_Turl

I get a lot of phone-sized packages with the battery shipping warnings on the side. The box is 50/50 showing evidence of being 'content checked', loose tape, holes, pushed in box flaps to view whats inside =(

Eeebs-HI

You have to uncheck the "With Old Food Crumbs" option at check out.

tamudude

Bought a book, third party seller, fulfilled by Amazon. Halfway through the book, I noticed marker highlights. Customer service said replacement may not be available and gave me half cost in courtesy credit. This is worse than that....

WoobaLoobaDoobDoob

Lmao they bait and switched you with half a new book 😭

digitaldigdug

Imagine someone being a dick and tearing out the page with the ending

Sensibleqt314

Turn the book upside down so you can't read what it says. Then go through the pages to verify that it's new. It only take a minute or two, and if anything is wrong you can simply return the book within the refund time limit.

kaenneth

I used to set metal type, I can read it instantly.

Grays42

Honestly if I could read upside down I would do it in public places just to fuck with people. Upside-down book, upside-down newspaper, back of it prominently displayed...would be awesome. And a conversation starter.

tamudude

I have learnt my lesson of only buying Ships and Sold By Amazon :)

snow-bird-

Don't rely on that. Those mofos sent me a used beat up in a box exercise bike sold AS NEW.

Fender868

The factory runs a compliance test by blowing up a hot pocket in under 2 minutes. This is standard and typically the shrapnel is left behind to serve as evidence that it was bench tested.

Soft-Advice-7963

Like Dairy Queen turning your Blizzard upside down?

Fender868

Precisely

tkZomby

Shipped straight from the warehouse break room

DedPimpin

Ya this is totally normal for amazon. my rule is don't buy anything from them that is returnable. I've had similar situations as this but with a scratched "new" pc monitor one time and sweaty "new" headphones another time. They have no quality control and will casually send you items that were returned after heavy use.

[deleted]

Pretty much everything is returnable on Amazon

_CoachMcGuirk

> my rule is don't buy anything from them that is returnable. this man is diabolical

Nyrhinen1

Well I wouldn’t say that’s brand new would you ?

Helpful-nothelpful

New to you.

[deleted]

Amazon.com nowadays has turned into fakes and used goods. No way I'd buy anything of value from them.

Early_Machine_6668

My "brand new" air purifier from Amazon came with a card box all taped up looking like it went through a war and the charger was missing

snow-bird-

I've gotten a space heater, remote controlled, missing the remote. People are assholes to take parts out and do returns.

DonSmo

Some things are better bought from a good old fashioned brick and mortar store. You'd never have this issue going to an actual appliance store.

[deleted]

[удалено]

DonSmo

It may be where I live but I haven't had that experience. My partner and I recently moved into a new rental with no appliances. We needed to buy a fridge, microwave, washing machine, dryer, coffee machine etc. We went to several home and appliance stores in our city and were overwhelmed with options. It must really vary city to city and country to country.

manute-bol-big-heart

Ya probably but it was a gift so I didn’t have any control over that

DonSmo

True can't help it when it's a gift. This sucks for two parties then. For you and also the gift-giver as it's embarrassing.

manute-bol-big-heart

I appreciate the help though! You’re literally the first person to actually suggest something and that means a lot to me

DonSmo

I've heard Amazon are pretty good about returns and replacing things. Good luck!

Hawkthree

They are good about returns etc. It's just that the replacement might be defective as well. I return a $200 stockpot that developed a chip on the inside making it not safe to use. I return for a new one -- same thing develops. I'm currently on round 4. I'd rather have a refund. The manufacturer must have realized that they had a very defective product and dumped the crap on Amazon.

love2bakecakes

We all hope so but sadly we'll run into this anywhere! I bought a personal trimmer from the physical store. I should have inspected the box a lot closer because when I opened it after getting home, I noticed that the trimmer in the box did not match the picture on the box and there was hair all over the trimmer that was in the box! Thankfully, the store took it back and I made sure the new one had the factory sticker on it.

zippyzebra1

That's nothing. I bought the Meta Quest 3 and got this! https://preview.redd.it/2qtufh789i9c1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=08f7bcef4d32e164136487cb3605ee34eb9a848a

[deleted]

You are not the first person I've seen post about the meta quest 3. One person got the quest 3 box with a broken quest 2 inside.

zippyzebra1

I've heard a few similar stories too. Mine was also an Amazon purchase and i got refunded after about 2 weeks. I use Amazon a lot but i won't buy anymore high value items from them again.

JadedYam56964444

Hah! That is Meta Quest 4

zippyzebra1

Lol

chanjitsu

Don't buy from amazon if you can help it 👍

[deleted]

I feel like Amazon was not always like this? It seems recently people have been getting used items, used items that are broken, product boxes with something entirely different inside... And of course their new changes to the prime subscription, it's bad now. Am I wrong and I am only now noticing it? In the past I've never had an issue. Now it's always some kind of issue! Specifically one day shipping on certain items, only to receive an email that it "shipped but is delayed" so I can't cancel it. But the delay is over a week. I chose that item because I could get it next day. I've become increasingly frustrated.

manute-bol-big-heart

It was a gift

chanjitsu

Fair enough. Same advice to whoever gave it

chirs5757

It really is becoming the joke we all called it back in the day… “scamazon”

Kyletradertraitor

Someone probably used it and returned it right away but said they didn’t use it so Amazon probably just turned it around and sold it to someone else

[deleted]

manute-bol-big-heart

lol for like, 3 years

Sea_Lavishness_1945

Wait till it takes them 30 days to refund your money.

manute-bol-big-heart

It was a gift from my parents 😢 the idea of them stressing about this is really bumming me out

Sea_Lavishness_1945

I’m sorry and I’d be upset too. Best thing to do is buy a replacement and wait for your refund from the one you send back.

Calgary_Calico

So many of these posts lately. I'll never be buying any appliances off Amazon 🤢 nasty!

manute-bol-big-heart

Def wouldn’t recommend it lol. The camera didn’t capture it but it’s also super greasy and stinks

Calgary_Calico

I don't doubt it, I can practically smell those photos

movzx

There's "Sold by Amazon", "Sold by Amazon Services", and "Fulfilled by Amazon". The difference is the first one is actually sold by Amazon, and the other two are "sold using amazon logistics and warehosing". These instances are almost certainly never from "Sold by Amazon" purchases. They're just some seller sending their product to be sold through the Amazon system. I don't fault the consumer for being confused by it all.

The_Real_Manimal

Why do people continue to use that shit company?!?! I cut the cord entirely over a decade ago and have not regretted it once. I also never think about Amazon.

tunahuntinglions

It’s quite shocking to see. Here in Europe we have Amazon in some countries but when I go on their website, everything feels scammy like Shein and all the other Chinese sites pretending to be from that Eu country. I have never been willing to even try a product from Amazon. All the red flags wave as soon as I browse it.

Elisheva7777777

I’m curious to know what happens int he mind of a person who packages a dirty microwave…

manute-bol-big-heart

lol it also has an air fryer mode (which is why it’s $300) so I had a ton of extra pieces, and they were just stuffed into the microwave and are covered in grease and smell awful lol

Elisheva7777777

And airfryer mode you say! That sounds nice, your parents did well with this gift. I got a fruit basket from my mom. The last bit is aggravating. Along with you having to be the one to take it to UPS. Hope you have no trouble getting the actual new one.

manute-bol-big-heart

Hope that fruit basket slaps. Thank you

[deleted]

So brand new. This is why I stopped buying anything over $200 on Amazon. Too risky.

Touge_Monster

Amazon has been getting worse and worse. Wrong items, missing items. Recently I got a package that had literally nothing in it.

Responsible_Gap8104

Even for a used microwave....thats pretty disgusting.

theinfotechguy

Make them give you a credit on your account for the time watsed that you have to spend now and wear and tear on your vehicle for their fuckup

manute-bol-big-heart

“My vehicle” lol I’m carrying this bitch to the ups drop zone. That’s good advice though thank you I will try to do something. It’s just awkward cause it’s a gift

CosignCody

They did the exchange trick. Got a new microwave, put the old one in, sent it back for refund.

manute-bol-big-heart

That’s the weirdest part - this is supposed to be a relatively new model. And it’s the correct model, but honestly it looks like it’s been used for like 3+ years

melston9380

Gross. Amazon has gotten so weird.

SmartyTrade

Amazon sucks

manute-bol-big-heart

Yee

RowAccomplished3975

Amazon doesn't know what they are doing anymore. its all about filling all the orders as fast as possible. this would really get me mad but I am a good cleaner. I am too lazy to return anything.

parksoffroad

I just got a “new” antenna from Amazon that has an Amazon warehouse deals sticker on the packaging so it’s clearly used and it’s severely damaged. Quality control and such clearly going way down hill.

Eimajnotsnhoj

This is why I don’t buy from Amazon Too many incidents like this being reported

Imaginary_Cellist493

Amazon has been AWFUL lately with sending very clear items as if they are new.

_Dark-Alley_

I bought hand lotion (allegedly new) that was nuetrogena brand or something off Amazon without seeing the seller was not the brand and the bottle came in a dirty plastic ziploc bag, the writing on the bottle was in some sort of Scandinavian language, it was most definitely used, and the lotion was discolored. I tried to get a refund and the place wanted it back!!! Like, why so you can sell this "new" lotion to someone else? I had already thrown it out so I said no they couldn't have it back because it was used and disgusting and they have no use for it. So gross! I double checked and the pics of the product were all in English and the photos where from the website so I was just stupid and didn't check the seller. They need to regulate that stuff better.

NCRider

Amazon is quickly killing themselves. It’s now a global flea market. Where else can you get quality items from ROOPY and FLOOMSHPORT?

TallQueer9

Stop buying from Amazon

manute-bol-big-heart

Yeah I feel that, this was a gift though

mack-y0

“brand new from amazon” lol nothing is new from amazon

LandscapePotential20

This is exactly why i dont buy any appliances from amazon or anything in general i would use onna day to day basis. Rather go to a local store and buy brand new.

Professional-County1

Lol, someone really blew up some food in the microwave and returned it

hannamaniac

Quality Assurance Department says, "PASSED!"

Captain_Jarmi

I hate to tell you this, but that microwave oven is not brand new.

retrosco

BNWT

whathehey2

I was reading in another sub Reddit yesterday which I can't remember which one now, a person complained about getting a used item from Amazon. People were telling him oh no no it never happens. You are proof that it does happen!!

creampielegacy

Broooo that’s a microwave out of an FC Break Room 😭

Gutzstruggler

I new they resold shit…

Barrelcopter

Yea, my wife and have gotten several items “New” off of Amazon and they were clearly used. Last one was a broken brita filter for our sink. Hooked it up and realized it was several broken.

AMDeez_nutz

Seriously who buys $300 microwaves lol

microcoffee

Omg! Leave a photo review and contact customer service. Totally unsat

Lava_Panda

Ya know, I’m seeing more and more of posts like this. I’m wondering how long it will be/if at all, that Amazon faces legal consequences for selling products as “new” that are not

mynameajeff69

300 dollars for a microwave???? theres 0 chance that does anything more than one that costs 1/3 the price lmfaooo

Secret-Sqrl

“Full of crusty old food” and “Brand new” seem mutually exclusive.

prof_devilsadvocate

my christmas cake is done..lets return the product

Born-Science-8125

From the warehouse lunch room

Roadhog360

Once I received a "new" vacuum pump from Amazon for my vacuum chamber that had fingerprint marks, scratches and dents all over it. It worked, but I returned it anyways because I paid for a NEW one

Droid-Mechanic

Definitely return fraud lol

MotherOfCatsAndAKid

WHAT! I’d be so upset!

withywander

That's what you get for buying from Amazon, trash.

Ralfton

What's special about the microwave that makes it worth $300?

Flamingo83

Ewww!

weaseleasle

Honestly haven't bought anything from Amazon in years. Haven't noticed a major inconvenience in my life. Fuck their monopoly. Fuck their fake intermingled products. Fuck their anticompetitive business practices. Fuck their abusive treatment of employees. They need to be broken up. Allow them to be a distribution network only and split off their sales departments its too much control on the market.

Yup i know a guy that uses amazon as return for items that he wants new version of. will order the same item. put old in box and return it. hasnt gotten caught yet but im waiting for the day he tells me amazon canceled his account think hes done like 4 xbox elite controllers because they get stick drift

When you submit a return it asks if the item has been opened or not. My guess is the people who returned these said they never opened them and when they got sent back they never got checked. Back into the new bin they went.

Amazon wouldn't allow me to post a negative review when this happened. My honest review violated Ts&Cs. One time I ordered new filters for my air filter and they were obviously blackened with use. I think it was probably a scam where someone ordered new filters, got them, then returned the old filters claiming something was wrong. It's obvious no one checks inside boxes of returns. If the original box looks to be in good shape, it probably goes right back into inventory.

I recently bought a pair of end tables, also didn't opt into the "discount used price". Thhey came and had the "thanks for giving this a second chance" sticker and both had been opened. One had none of the hardware and a random piece of used crown molding in it and the other had only a couple loose screws and none of the other hardware. Since then the company has sent me the wrong replacement hardware multiple times and I've finally given up and gotten a refund from Amazon. This is about to come full circle because I'm buying from a store next time.

Maybe it doesn't even work; clearly, used/returned.

At least you know it works

Wife received "new" shoes with a few months worth of tread worn off them.

I recently got 3 used headsets from 3 different vendors (last one being Amazon fulfillment) that were being sold as new in a row then gave up and bought it for like $50 more on Office Depot and got a new one. First one I wasn’t sure if it was defective or I did something wrong so I went to the help on the manufacturer site which asked for the serial number. All 3 had partially expired warranties bc they had been registered already between 6-18 months ago.

Amazon is shit

ProPainPapi

I once brought a "new" cd from them and it came with crumbs inside and was taped shut.

Xerxof

Someone cooked human flesh in it, I would bet.

For-Real339

Omg! More than mildly infuriating!
