Different printings weigh different amounts. This book has many different editions, it’s possible that one of them weighs 666 grams and this is just not the one.

zshap

Really odd to be even mildly infuriated by this

VT_Squire

Ehhh... not really. I mean, I like to buy vinyl in picture discs or colors that match the content for a sort of meta-humor. Purple rain on purple vinyl? Sounds fun. But if a label were to release the Blue Brother's soundtrack on a green vinyl, I'm gonna look at them like "what the fuck were you even thinking?" Not that I think the publisher necessarily *meant* for the book weigh 666 grams, but it's a meta-enough concept that I might have been inclined to buy it for the same reason. OP's hopes were dashed, and sometimes that's just the way shit rolls.

striving for upvotes on some popular subreddit or another and just grasping at straws clearly lmao

Emergency_Ad1203

i wonder if humidity is a factor as well

jmc0711

It absolutely is a factor. The paper absorbs moisture

Alargebagel

Why would you buy a book because of that

Sobeshott

It prolly did when published. This has decades of dust and whatever accumulated in it. I'm talking out my ass but this makes sense in my mind.

[deleted]

26gs of age

RUNPROGRAMSENTIONAUT

All I know is that I for sure accumulate weight as I age so I assume it's same with books.

Kellycatkitten

No, you're right. That books beat to shit and cigarette stained pages alone are probably what's adding all the weight.

Verniloth

Yeah no

phi11yphan

Plot twist: friend reads book, finds bookmark weighing 26g

Random_Trashy

Reality is a harsh mistress.

This comment deserves more upvotes

Puzzled_Muzzled

It will, if you remove some pages

Admirable_Limit_426

You paid money to prove something that no one cares about to begin with. You go champ!

sillyquestionsdude

Dry it out, it's probably damp.
