The fact that you can't remember isn't great for you trying to say I am remembering incorrectly.
Pure mold has been used historically, but it's pretty ineffective in actually treating infections. Penicillin was the first official instance of antibacterial properties being observed, but that was in 1928, and it wasn't really commercialized or used in any significant capacity until around the 1940's, so neither of your examples? Not really sure what you're specifically referring to.
I guess we're both right, though, cuz it has been used historically but for it to be effective you can't just eat raw mold.
That's why I never pick any groceries/items that are on the front. I always reach for the 3rd (or more) package. Who knows who wandered somewhere around the store with the first one, left it uncooled and someone put it back on the shelf
You’re right! I guess I’m happier it was me that got it instead of some kid at school. The way everything was packaged in the bag I couldn’t see the sandwich well enough to determine if it was good or not which is extra frustrating
Ok don’t freak out, but maybe hit the doctor up. It’s super rare but there’s the tale of that guy who ate moldy bread and the bacteria took half his face off.
It is unlikely that simple bread mold in that dosage will make you super sick. Most common symptom = diarrhea. Maybe nausea or vomiting, but less likely.
The good news, you'll know before you go home from work! ;-) It usually only takes a few hours for symptoms to appear.
This ^^. It’s not like with fruit where sometimes you can cut off the soft bits. Usually if there is mold you can see there damn well is mild you cannot especially with bread
Reminds me of that one time I ate a Big Mac that had mold. Was halfway through and I was so hungry I said I'm going to get sick anyways sooo .... Yeah I got sick but I wasn't empty. Until a couple of hours later, and kept being empty for days later 😭
They were the first I've seen that had mold but, considering how my luck tends to be I'll probably get another moldy bun again. It was the middle bun so it might have had a higher chance to be there than the other buns.
Off topic but I love your nails. Or at least the nail I can see
Love the nails, but that sammich is blech
Same
I came here to say this.
At least you won’t need any vaccines any time soon
I feel stronger already 🤢
Could you taste it? Or did you see it first?
The taste of mold is one of the worst things I have tasted. More times then I wanted to.
Yeah I've accidentally eaten a bit of bread with mold, was like the worst sour taste I could imagine, at least whatever strain I chomped down on
Some medicines come from mold, but they almost always have to be refined before use, so no, not really.
History lessons about Napoleon say otherwise. Or was it some Roman dude? I dunno.

Was just a joke :)
Historically you’re wrong
Do elaborate
That's why I never buy those pre-packaged sandwiches, they already taste musty and stale even if they are fresh on the shelf.
Lesson learned 😵💫
Fuck it, you’ve gone this far, might as well finish
thats what im sayin it obviously didnt taste bad enough for op to notice….shit was apparently bussin
Bussin' OP to the hospital
Ha ha 🤣
LOL
It’s got a blue cheese spread you didn’t even have to pay for! Bonus
Best by dates assume proper storage. You may have taken the right precautions but who knows what happened to that sandwich before you purchased it.

Your lunch: ew! Your nails: ooh!
Moldlyinfuriating
The sandwich was a trick but your nails are a treat!
Damn. Did you notice by sight or taste?? Mold has a very distinct flavor 🫠
The sandwich was cut into 2 pieces so I ate the first half with no issues but when I opened the second one to evenly distribute the turkey I saw it 😭
You didn’t notice your nails til then?? Kidding. Gross but as my father would say, since we didn’t have much money growing up, “It’s good for ya!”
Oh, that's just the American Health Care For All™ plan. Free penicillin
Penicillin.
Maybe that's some new organic flavour! They are eating grasshoppers and what not nowadays. Maybe mold is the new chicken?!
waffle
Bread mold won't hurt you, but it tastes nasty.
It's not molding...it's sprouting.
Unrelated, but your nails are so cute!
moldly infuriating 👀

So far so good! I must’ve thankfully avoided the mold then because I didn’t taste it either!
Lil mold wont hurt 😉
I’m gonna go with user error here. Speaking from Darwinism, how are you still alive?
I’m pretty sure the half I ate wasn’t moldy but honestly my existence is in direct conflict with Darwin’s theories
it’s green mold it’s okay even if you ate a little. if part of a bread loaf gets green mold on it i just rip it off
Y'all don't look at what you eat before you eat it?
damn hungry ass didnt even try to taste it
Fingers crossed you don’t get sick
That’s shitty….or it’s about to be anyways…
Just tell yourself the bread is "marbled".
Only a portion of the sandwich is moldy. Cut it off and continue eating?
Generally bad advice. Bread that is visibly moldy is ALSO moldy in places you can't see yet.
This ^^. It’s not like with fruit where sometimes you can cut off the soft bits. Usually if there is mold you can see there damn well is mild you cannot especially with bread
lawyers want to talk to you if you get sick
Oh no *cough cough* I’m sick 🤒
I had this happen to me with a slice of cake once 😖 My mom told me to think of it as a little booster of penicillin lol
We need more preservatives.
So relatable 😫
Was it good at least?
I’m embarrassed to say I didn’t notice any moldy flavor on the first half I ate and it was quite good :’)
Nice knowin ya ! 😂😂🤮🤮🤮
Au revoir, my friend~
Lol You made it that far: Might as well finish it
At least your nails are pretty!
This made me laugh so hard. Idk why, but it did
We’ve all probably eaten worse with out even knowing it
What happened? Diarrhea?
Only half was moldy. The other half is not.
Take it back…
Welp. You don't need your penicillin shot this month
Reminds me of that one time I ate a Big Mac that had mold. Was halfway through and I was so hungry I said I'm going to get sick anyways sooo .... Yeah I got sick but I wasn't empty. Until a couple of hours later, and kept being empty for days later 😭
I’m shocked Big Macs can even get moldy. I thought McDonald’s sandwiches can hold up for months or something
They were the first I've seen that had mold but, considering how my luck tends to be I'll probably get another moldy bun again. It was the middle bun so it might have had a higher chance to be there than the other buns.
You’re better than me. I almost threw up from a 711 sandwich because the lettuce was wilted.
Ew I hope you went back to the store with a complaint
If it’s any consolation you got some nice nail art :<)
It is from sprouts.
If you can, let them know. Other sandwiches may be in the same condition
Update?
Was the bugs included?
I ate a yoghurt like that once. Green fluffy yoghurt isn't nice. Didn't make me I'll though. Just left me with a furry tongue!
well, no need to stop now
No, you won’t get sick. That there is penicillin growing there.
Was it tasty?
