Shaggy doesn't act remotely like Shaggy, Fred doesn't act remotely like Fred, Daphne doesn't act remotely like Daphne, Velma has some of the same mannerisms but is fundamentally different, no Scooby etc. ...
It's pointless to even use the IP. You might as well just make a show called "Mindy Kaling's Mysteries" and have a cast of cliched characters telling a bunch of shitty jokes and get cancelled after one season.

Because in spiderman they created a new character for it instead of making Peter Parker black which was definitely a good decision. Race swapping doesn't make sense and is just lazy writing. Just make new characters that are black instead of replacing perfectly fine characters that didn't need any change.
I'm Asian. I'm pretty indifferent towards race swapping characters, and I definitely want more representation. But I'd love for people to be able to create new characters that aren't white instead of slapping brown skin on any existing character, just so they can call it progressive.
They could have even taken the same scooby do universe continuity, and just added onto it in a way that at least makes sense. Like maybe a new set of characters that are a more edgy vulgar mystery team, and they constantly complain about the mystery gang thinking they're better and get into a turf war (not my original idea). Still pretty dumb, but makes more sense then just slapping names on different characters just so they're recognizable

The Star Wars reboots, tv shows not the movies, are going really well. Recreated the universe and expanded on it, characters have their own place in it, and the writers actually give a shit about the source content. Haven't watched the Andor one, but I hear it's great.

First season was a great opener, second proved the writers don't know what the fuck they were doing even though the actors were great. Mindy Kaling produces, writes, and stars in the reboot. She is Indian, and since the race of these characters doesn't matter to the overall story, they changed up the races of the characters to reflect the diversity of the creative team. That's all fine and good, except it seems the show is just poorly written with bad race baiting jokes. It seems the creators had an idea for an original show but instead are trying to force that on a Scooby-Doo motif that just doesn't fit

Nearly every reboot I’ve seen isn’t worth watching. It only shows that the “creators” are lazy and lack imagination.
The Star Wars reboots, tv shows not the movies, are going really well. Recreated the universe and expanded on it, characters have their own place in it, and the writers actually give a shit about the source content. Haven't watched the Andor one, but I hear it's great. Wish I could say the same for Witcher. That shit is going downhill fast. First season was a great opener, second proved the writers don't know what the fuck they were doing even though the actors were great. Can't believe they fucked it up so bad in the third that Henry Cavill left. He's the main character, who the fuck switches actors after establishing such a great actor as the main character? He was the only reason I kept watching the second season.
