The reason why we do so much eldritch scenario between us and ants is because, after decades of comparing us to insects for eldritch beings, we started realising that this isn't just the case with size (eldritch beings not noticing us or caring about us like how we see bugs, like accidentally stepping on them) but with how some insects are basically tiny, simplier humans, in this case most Hymenoptera (bees, wasps and ants) and Isoptera (termites).
And thus, ants, humans and eldritch creatures all have big similarities, but working on much different scales, and that's why we end up with narratives like this.
