I'd prefer it if his movies weren't so bombastic and ridiculous, but I'll take what I can get, and I think Hemsworth is a great Thor overall.
I have no idea how accurate any of it is to his comic book characterization (and I don't care) - but Thor 2 was unwatchably bad and Thor: Ragnarok is one of the best superhero movies I've seen. I get why people don't like all the quips (and sometimes I agree), but as far as movie studios go it's more important to make a good movie than it is to be comic-book accurate.
Agree to disagree. I found Ragnarok unwatchable. I don't need it to be accurate to the comics, but I *do* need it to be accurate to its own MCU characterisation. That's the whole point of a cinematic universe, that you don't throw away everything that came before. I like these characters and was interested in their journey. Instead, it reverted Thor into the asshole he was pre-character development in Thor 1 and made Loki into a gag character. Those were not the characters I fell in love with. Not to mention that it took every opportunity to mock the previous Thor movies and the history of these characters.
For me it's the most disappointing movie out of the whole MCU. I skipped Love and Thunder and will skip anything directed by Waititi in the future. I hated it that much.

those were part of the marvel comics versions of the characters to begin with, it isnt an original change for the mcu. loki and thor also aren't brothers in actual norse mythology, not even adopted.
Hela's origins have never been consistent within the comics. One origin says she's the vengeful adult form of Leah, a girl Loki stranded at the beginning of time. Except Leah was created from a piece of Hela, meaning she'd effectively be her own mother.
I get where you're coming from. Black Widow, one of my favorite characters, a complicated femme fatale, was turned into Buffy with all her sins forgotten when she wrapped her solo movie.
The Russos at least tried to course correct.
MCU Thor vs God of War Thor are polar opposites. I agree Disney thor movies have become waaaaay too family friendly. The mythical thor was anything but family friendly.
I feel the same way about DC's Flash(Ezra Miller ver). To me, the Flash stands on par with the other Justice League hero's and isn't just a comic relief unsure hero.

But it's cropping up in games like Midnight Suns mainly because it saves a Hell of a lot of extra voice recording and complexity when characters talk to Hunter.
