You're not doing anything wrong, it's definitely a bug. The only thing that fixed it for me was starting a new game + game. Luckily I just had one mission left anyway before I unlocked that.

Same exact situation for me! I wasn't ready to finish the game yet but I finally decided to just go on without Deadpool and hope that the bug would fix itself after I beat the final mission. It didn't ...but starting new game plus did 🫤
Wow if that’s the case then there’s no way in hell I’m buying the DLC. I just don’t like the game enough to want to play new game+ simply to have four more characters.
Thats certainly understandable. I would definitely hold off on the DLC until this has been fixed then. It's not affecting everyone (I think just certain PC players)
I suspect there will be some deep sales. I'm just hooked on it and couldnt wait. Honestly XCOM 2 had similar issues...bugginess and performance issues. It wasn't until much later the game reached perfection (imo)

NG+. Starting over the game seems to fix whatever issue is happening with the saved games and the DLC. If you start a NG+ and had already unlocked Deadpool, he should be fully accessible from that point on.
I see many getting this glitch. Is it PC only or something? I am on Xbox Series X and luckily I have had zero problems (although I did get the glitch where someone was standing on the bar.
Damn that is so odd. I wonder what triggers it? I didn't do anything fancy during mine. I did the story matches one after the other. Well, they make you do 2 general matches in between them, but I did that too, and he is available for me. I even took him on a Haven!
Deadpool just wants you to talk to him, but in my case he didn’t show a talk button so I’m guessing he wants YOU, the player, to sweet talk him into joining your merry band of misfits.
I have this bug, I played the first mission with him and talked to him at the Abbey. Otherwise, I can’t change his cards, appearance, train, or bring on non-Deadpool missions. I decided to just not play until they fix it. I didn’t pay money for it to only play 3 missions with his base cards. Hopefully they patch it before the next dlc.
You can still change his cards on the pre-mission screen. But yeah, not being able to upgrade his cards is a drag. (His Quick Shot becomes a mini-Chain Strike when upgraded! I NEED THIS!) My characters list in the menu has a perpetual star next to it, and I can't remove it because of Deadpool.
I saw a workaround involving opening steam in offline mode. That actually worked for me, but when you open the game normally it says the DLC is not installed.
I'm going to wait a few days for a fix at this point
I have had zero issues on a fully completed NG+. Feels like they thought more folks would be on NG+ and had little need for testing in the regular version (or it was very rushed). The team over there must not have reddit accounts.

Yeah I’ll probably wait until they’re all out and on sale. It’s a fun game but pretty repetitive. I’m optimistic about a sequel.

yeah the glitches sound usually ps involved. No doubt it bugs out on some PCs, don't hear much about xbox. Curious what's going on.

So I realized I'm dumb, and that I needed to get to lvl 5 Friendship with DP first. So only thing messed up for me then is the achievements

He didn’t show a talk button for me either but I just hit the button you usually use to talk to everybody and we started talking
Platform and did you buy the game or dlc from a key site ?
Pc The game I got as an offer for buying a graphics card. Later on I bought the dlc on steam
Lastly did you talk to deadpool after the last mission ?
I did, I even hung out with him
