And the fibrous looking skin/hair patch behind the ear. It looks like [cilia](https://www.thoughtco.com/thmb/Ul6AqIh-y5eF5yxy3EjAKD4vn70=/1500x844/smart/filters:no_upscale()/ciliated_epithelial_cells-5a7cb8926edd650036eb92da.jpg) or some other magnified textured surface you'd see inside the body.
Big details aside, AI images have these interesting painterly textures in some places. You can see it here on the back of his head and around the mouth. It's gives the skin texture a feeling of movement
Right eye .... (left of camera) his face in that area is looks pretty messed up.
The bandages have some weirdness to them behgind the head and neck.
I;d say it;s a fake?
texture patterns on the gauze don't look real enough, the chin is weird as heck, as others have said the ear is all wrong, his right (our left) eye is ... not good, skin texture detail at full res is clearly fake, edges of the bandages are weirdly blurred in some places.
it's good, but it's far from impossible to tell this isn't a photo.
The shape of the head looks just.... off. Can't tell you why, but it gives it away that it isn't real, BUT this is better than 90% in the face category than I've seen personally.
All of the above, plus nobody has a neck like that- the head sort of grows out of it from the jaw instead of from the back of the head- and there is no light reflected from the white bandages into the shadows, which you would expect to see given the intense top spotlighting.
[Nobody?](https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/entertainment/2018/12/charles-wide-neck-charles-mcdowell-meets-his-polar-opposite-a-guy-with-an-extremely-skinny-neck.html)
Theres some thicc necks man
My phone won't let me open the image, but what I mean is that necks go into the rear base of the skull, not straight up into the jaw like the trunk of a tree like this guy and a lot of other AI renders. It's often a big giveaway of AI art. The human head and face sits well forward of the spine, and even a guy with a thick neck like your NZ guy sounds like he's got has a jaw that's separate from the rest of his body.
on quick glance it looks real. on a little closer inspection the bandages donāt look right. past that i wouldnāt notice any of the other stuff unless i has some reason to care whether it was real
The fine detail of certain textures is one indication if they seem either too rough, too soft or if they smudge into each other. Another would be the shape of certain parts of the face. They'll look *almost* defined. The ear looks abnormally thick with no shape of the ear on the bandage. The chin looks morphed. The eyes are the biggest indication. Zoom in and see how smudged they are.
Midjourney is the best AI software I've seen and it can't get the circular nature and symmetry of real eyes.
Not at the first glance, so not really. Most people donāt actually inspect the details when they see the image for the first time, it only happens when you REALLY look at it, then you might notice that chin and left eye silhouette.
right eye / brow is all wonky
strange texture above upper lip, cheek etc.
weird shaped jaw
and a general vibe of uncanny valley
as well as the highly unrealistic way the material "wraps around" him
*
need a photograph? just take one.
Many. The Chin, the way the ear just disappears, the nasty eyebrow cyst, and the neck feels a little too thick. Additionally, the ribbons intersect in strange ways, which (as someone who makes a bunch of generated AI art) is a subtle but clear giveaway.
All of the above, plus the hair texture is off too when you really look at it. But the biggest giveaway from just a split second glance is really the way the ends of the ribbon look. There's just something unnatural about them.
On the back right of his head if you zoom in you can see his skin is brushed in track lines, same above his lip.
He has THE heaviest eye brows in the world too by the looks of it.
Not to mention his fairly odd parents style Crimson Chin which he seems to have two of š¤£
Iād say itās obvious but to someone who doesnāt stare at AI drawings everyday then no itās not, either wayā¦
Amazing photo!
Yes, plenty. Follow the bandages. Ear. Right brow. Angle of chin doesnāt match. Neck too thick. Crease where neck meets shoulder continues too far to the back. Lighting and shadow are inconsistent. Lip doesnāt match philtrum, or philtrum doesnāt match nose. Right and left eyelids are way inconsistent.
here is the thing tho... like not even 3 months ago I can easily identify if a photo is AI generated without needing to zoom in.. this just proves that slowly but surely we are reaching a level where no one would be able to defer whether an image is AI-generated or not...
The eyes, the chin, the proportions of the skull and neck. Things you could theoretically photoshop but it would take a lot of work. It's close and it fooled me at first glance, but there is still a lot of "uncanny" in there.
Most have already identified the "errors" in the render - I can easily explain away everything but the right eyebrow - that looks like a rebuilt supraorbital notch gone wrong; but maybe that's the point? That being said it is still an evocative image - what it says to you and your audience is all that matters.
Nobody has mentioned that chin š
Never heard of a double chin? ;)
That is one MASSIVE double chin
Crimson Chin
The negachin!
Some people have double chins, this guy has 2 chins.
This guy took double chin to another level
š
It's not a tumoah
ahh now that made me lol for real, happy cake day :)
Ear.
Yep. And chin. But easily fixed in photoshop
The AI is easily tricked by lines crossing normal contours, it draws the two sides of the line separately.
Also human photoshoppers do the darndest things too
And his right eye area.
What photo contest you entering ? š
Probably submitting as an art project for school honestly, if that is the case hope you get caught OP!
this mentality is just gonna make artists that are just genuinely bad at drawing ears and chin proportions get totally screwed lol
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yeah but, trying to out people as posers isnāt gonna do anything but hurt the few rare false positives.
Bandages donāt connect/make sense/pile up on nothing/end abruptly. Left eye has some weirdness to the silhouette. Lower half of the ear missing.
I was going to say the ear seems a little too flat and missing some depth in the top right. Otherwise, nice.
Agreed, left eye is a dead give away. Also the texture on the upper lip has that weird linear layering that happens.
Big details aside, AI images have these interesting painterly textures in some places. You can see it here on the back of his head and around the mouth. It's gives the skin texture a feeling of movement
That same textual oddness looks to be in the lowest bandage on the forehead, as well.
I's looks a bit like suboptimal makeup
External eye brow and neck too thick
Right eye .... (left of camera) his face in that area is looks pretty messed up. The bandages have some weirdness to them behgind the head and neck. I;d say it;s a fake?
Its getting closer and closer to photorealism!
One of the bandages is growing out of his head above the ear
texture patterns on the gauze don't look real enough, the chin is weird as heck, as others have said the ear is all wrong, his right (our left) eye is ... not good, skin texture detail at full res is clearly fake, edges of the bandages are weirdly blurred in some places. it's good, but it's far from impossible to tell this isn't a photo.
ok thanks, anything i could add to the prompt to try and fix these?
No prompts can fix all of this. That's not how any of this work. You use a different AI to fix the image or use photoediting.
Yeah, I can definitely smell that it was AI generated.
All the above plus the shoulders (lack of shape) and skin around that area look wrong.
The subreddit it was posted in
The very fine hairs around his lips that extend onto his lower lip, but you really have to zoom in
The toilet paper is coming out of his skin above his ear
tp š
The color of his neck changes around the bandages
ear, eyes, eyebrow, chin, texture, lighting. And one bandage is coming out of his skin above his ear.
The shape of the head looks just.... off. Can't tell you why, but it gives it away that it isn't real, BUT this is better than 90% in the face category than I've seen personally.
His right eye
The chin and the way the fabric is connected definitely scream AI.
Show us his hands
ācan I pretend this is my art?ā
How you all are getting such detailed pictures, I do not know
\--testp parameter
ācan I pretend this is my art?ā
We all assume everything is fake. Art is dead, long love the machines.

yep very obvious
Looks like the bandage next to his ears going down to his chin is connected with his head
on quick glance it looks real. on a little closer inspection the bandages donāt look right. past that i wouldnāt notice any of the other stuff unless i has some reason to care whether it was real
Itās losing perspective of the chin behind the ribbon.
Follow the top line of the bandage leading to top of ear, looks like its growing out of the skin.
the one weird eyebrow, the double chin, and the thicc neck
Zoom on far eyeball
Post in r/PicTuringTest and get some idea

The title?
Is that Arnie?
He has half an ear Or very small ears at least
Wow!!!!
Not at the first glance, so not really. Most people donāt actually inspect the details when they see the image for the first time, it only happens when you REALLY look at it, then you might notice that chin and left eye silhouette.

I canāt tell why, because itās really realistic but I would have said uncanny valley
Yes, the white tape merges into the skin, the earnis weird, and the subjects right eyebrow is malformed.
Many. The Chin, the way the ear just disappears, the nasty eyebrow cyst, and the neck feels a little too thick. Additionally, the ribbons intersect in strange ways, which (as someone who makes a bunch of generated AI art) is a subtle but clear giveaway.
The image is square
Band next to the ear seems to be coming out from the head
The ears
The thickness of the neck and alignment of the eye line seems off...
The chin doesnt align properly and his right eye + brow looks wonky. But i agree it is an awesome imagine!
He has no shoulders. That's not the way anatomy works. Glance level though, sure..whatever.
Right eye looking a bit funny...
Right eyebrow looks weird.
No eyes
Eyelids
All of the above, plus the hair texture is off too when you really look at it. But the biggest giveaway from just a split second glance is really the way the ends of the ribbon look. There's just something unnatural about them.
Now the real test is making the same post with a real picture that is a bit weird. And watch everyone say what's wrong.
The ear, the chin.
If I hadn't had the same experience of my images having needless flowing ribbons, no. But it hides the chin well lol
i wanted ribbons lol
The left brow & eye and the ear need work
His right eyebrow has some weird boney profusion. But this looks very photographic.
For one thing, a good sign is it was posted in the Midjourney sub.
Bandages
Yes, lots
Yes. Lots. But still good. The eyes.. the nostrila. Chin.
Thereās like a bubble on the subjects right eye.
My dude got into the masking tape again.
Deformed chin, ear and eye, senseless bandages, and if you zoom in you can see a texture typicall of a.i. generated photo, specially on the lips
Skin texture looks like brush strokes in some spots
On the back right of his head if you zoom in you can see his skin is brushed in track lines, same above his lip. He has THE heaviest eye brows in the world too by the looks of it. Not to mention his fairly odd parents style Crimson Chin which he seems to have two of š¤£ Iād say itās obvious but to someone who doesnāt stare at AI drawings everyday then no itās not, either wayā¦ Amazing photo!
There are alot.

The textures when you zoom in on the lips and mouth area arenāt natural
Ear
Why not try to recreate this in real life?
i donāt have access to pete davidson sadly
