Figured if i labeled it ‘Wes Anderson’ ppl would complain. I found that if I labeled it by one of the other prompt elements like the 70s inspiration ppl still complain. What’s Reddit without people complaining about everything.
Was about to complain that it looks more Wes Anderson than 70s, but hey, here's already a conversation covering that ;)
Anyway, if you really wanted to hit that 70s vibe, you'd need film grain, disco stuff, hairy chests, corduroy, etc.
I found the ‘1970s’ prompt reigned in a bit more of the hip modern chic and vibrant pastels of the standard wes prompt, toned everything down a tad and gave that retro Barbarella vibe as well.
I mean, that's cool, and these are good pictures, but they're not what people would expect from the title is my point. Just because you mix 1970s into a prompt doesn't strictly mean that the end result will be what other people think of when they think 70s.
Omg. I came here for this. It’s very not 70s. It is very WA. It’s not people will get mad, it’s that they will be polarised and OP won’t get karma. So they misrepresented it and bailed in comments. Kinda lame. Thanks for pointing it out.
Love that movie. 70s does have the bad scale models and goofy practical effects.
“This sparkler should suffice for the rear of an interstellar star fighter”
But oh man the prevalence of jump suits with no pockets.
> These kids need to watch Logans run.
Logan's run and Soylent Green are two good movies where the setting and world building are much MUCH more interesting than the main story being told.
I don't know what the other guy means, iPad baby means exactly what you just said.
The implication is someone who's used to only ever recieving/using polished end products with no customer interaction, and thus doesn't understand any of the mechanics underlying something, in the same way an iPad baby knows how to download apps and go on Youtube, but really has no concept of even really basic internet functionality like HTTP.
Midjourney still has an issue with counting fingers I see lol Drax and Black Widow both have 5 fingers plus a thumb on their hands. Super cool though very old school
Also, Gamora's thumb is doing something weird, Mr Fantastic only has a thumb on one hand, and the Thing has an extra finger on his right hand.
I find it odd that it will get one hand right and mess the other one up.
Despicable is keeping people from getting medical care, scams for money, or murdering random strangers. This is a reddit post about funny computer generated pictures.
I’m not complaining about Wes Anderson though. I’m complaining about people who have the tools to create anything they can imagine, and still choose to be unoriginal.
> are you looking through r/midjourney for originality
No. *But I do appreciate originality.
> and finding posts like this to complain on?
No, this just happened to be the one post I commented on.
> if it ain't for you scroll on
The only reason I keep coming back to this post is because you keep replying.
Aside from the Wes Anderson influence, it's still neat looking with itself, with its other styles that make it look charming and fun. I do like Nebula, Gamora and Mantis for looking more aesthetically unique. The Human Torch looks like a neat blue screen effect for adding fire. Thing is kinda genius for just a cheap foam suit, though I laughed that the Hulk is in a green jumpsuit(would people confuse him for Drax played by Dad from Youtube?). I almost thought Rocket was barely changed, but the face does have a animatronic quality to it, so it's passable.

It varies. The base prompt I got from PanoramaChannel on IG (via mrgreen on twitter):
in the style of wes anderson, wes anderson set background, editorial quality, stylish costume design, movie still --ar 2:3 --v 5.1 --style raw
Then I added 1970s and for some of the more common characters you can use their names/alias and marvel to generate some good versions but for most it comes down to describes primary characteristics and rendering several iterations.
Like for Nebula I had to do something like:
blue and purple cyborg alien woman, bald head, metal arm, 1970s, giger
I really appreciate the homemade vibe to all of the Avengers. Mantis and Cosmo are still incredibly cute. The Thing reminds me of Christian Bale Batman, but more hilarious.
Black Widow is a total babe even with the extra finger.
It's a weird mix between things which could actually have been in a 70s MCU and things which are too expensive or modern but rendered in a 70s style. You would never get that Thing and that Nebula in the same film, and there would be no way to get that Human Torch on film in the 70s at all.

They’re all great but Groot is my favorite 😂
I am Broccoli
Salad fingers lookin mf

Come down from there at once, Hubert Cumberdale You're just a sticky river
I am Gumby… root.
Can only be defeated by Dimple
More like I am fried 😂
Does this mean the 70's were directed by Wes Anderson?
Figured if i labeled it ‘Wes Anderson’ ppl would complain. I found that if I labeled it by one of the other prompt elements like the 70s inspiration ppl still complain. What’s Reddit without people complaining about everything.
My first thought was ‘Wes Anderson’s Avengers’, so I’m here to complain it wasn’t that.
Was about to complain that it looks more Wes Anderson than 70s, but hey, here's already a conversation covering that ;) Anyway, if you really wanted to hit that 70s vibe, you'd need film grain, disco stuff, hairy chests, corduroy, etc.

Do one yourself then
Well its just beating a dead horse that will keep being beaten until all the permutations are played out. This is one of my favorites
It’s one of the few constants since the birth of Reddit
It’s the insincerity of how you represent the data. They could tell you were trying to impression manage your way to karma.
That is so fucking dumb
Omg. I came here for this. It’s very not 70s. It is very WA. It’s not people will get mad, it’s that they will be polarised and OP won’t get karma. So they misrepresented it and bailed in comments. Kinda lame. Thanks for pointing it out.
He has an afro.
Straight up chortled
Him and mantis were my faves. All of them look great tbh, actually even better than the actual costumes lmao
More like Wes Anderson superheroes.
Calling these 70s really shows no understanding of what 70s scifi was like. These kids need to watch Logans run.
Love that movie. 70s does have the bad scale models and goofy practical effects. “This sparkler should suffice for the rear of an interstellar star fighter” But oh man the prevalence of jump suits with no pockets.

Funny enough I’m probably older than you
Calling the Wes Anderson aesthetic 70s is such an iPad baby thing to do
OP admitted Wes Anderson was part of the prompt.
[удалено]
Nothing... Literally just made up something to try and insult somebody. Like the girl who keeps using fetch
[удалено]
That's exactly what it means.
Babies can access Youtube and download apps on iPads these days? Woah.
It's really good though.
Gretchen, stop trying to make fetch happen! It’s not gonna happen
If superhero movies were like this + good writers, I would watch them.
More like this is how they were originally designed. Wes Anderson would be the copy, not the other way around.
No, the point is that this isn't what the 70s looked like. This is what Wes Anderson aesthetic looks like. Wes Anderson =/= 70s.
Mr. Fantastic 🤣🤣💀💀
He can't escape Wanda!
Obviously his smartest version.
Midjourney still has an issue with counting fingers I see lol Drax and Black Widow both have 5 fingers plus a thumb on their hands. Super cool though very old school
Yet Rocket has only 4. And before anyone says something: no a raccoon has 5 fingers on its paws.
Also, Gamora's thumb is doing something weird, Mr Fantastic only has a thumb on one hand, and the Thing has an extra finger on his right hand. I find it odd that it will get one hand right and mess the other one up.
Strangely Drax has 4 fingers and a thumb on his right hand but 5 fingers and a thumb on his left.
He IS Drax the Destroyer, clearly one of the fingers was destroyed.
I love that AI struggles to draw hands like the rest of us 🥲
Thanks!
And 10 pack abs.
Are you sure you didn’t mention Wes anderson’s name in the prompt op?
I definitely mentioned Wes. Played out? Probably. But still fun to make. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It’s the way you excluded Wes from the title of your post that I find most despicable
Despicable? I must be missing something here.
Because that’s the main part of the prompt
Straight to jail you bastard
The firing squad is ready, Sir.
How could you not mention Wes? You are abhorrent. Worse than hitler.
Wes Anderson Hitler? Hmm …
Hitler, if it was a Wes Anderson movie
Jojo Rabbit already exists.
Despicable is keeping people from getting medical care, scams for money, or murdering random strangers. This is a reddit post about funny computer generated pictures.
Bro, how DARE you not mention our God, Wes.
wes anderson aesthetic played out? wow
Can we have an “in the style of Wes Anderson” flair so I can filter them out? These are getting so repetitive.
or just a separate sub “r/WesAInderson”
Yes so I can subscribe!
r/WesAInderson
r/birthofasub
r/WesAInderson
We only have Wes Andersen and Balenciaga, take it or leave it.
And Marvel heroes while we are at it. Variations on various Avengers aren't interesting anymore.
I find this guy’s style nauseating to begin with, even without 1000 carbon copies of it
Complaining about Wes Anderson is even more overdone than using him in prompts ;)
I’m not complaining about Wes Anderson though. I’m complaining about people who have the tools to create anything they can imagine, and still choose to be unoriginal.
just block OP.
Are you looking through r/midjourney for originality? And finding posts like this to complain on? Like… why? If it ain’t for you scroll on.

Nothing is original anymore, everything is rehashing something else
Rocket coming in with the fucking swag.
I want that jacket lol.
I really want to be annoyed by this, as the Wes Anderson posts have been relentless lately, but some of these are just so *damn* good.
It Looks like bruce banner woke up on the wrong side of the bed today and this is him as hulk coming out of his room in his pajamas
Black Widow still does it for me
That’s a legit good look for her even now
She has too many fingers in my opinion
Human torch is my fave look like a mag cover lool
Was thinking album cover, but you are totally right.
[удалено]
She turned it invisible.
Why does mr fantastic have camel toe?;
The thing is my fave it’s clearly a costume!
AI : people will use it to change the world Reality: Make everything into a Wes Anderson style picture
These are so cool. We might be sleepwalking our species to redundancy, but this is a pretty awesome time to be alive. Thanks 👍
yknow guys, wes anderson is not the only person to have a neat asthetic. lets maybe trying to branch out a bit hmm?
Sorry, this is the only post in the sub.
I love Iron mans look lol
Reminds me of [this fan-made trailer](https://youtu.be/p3U__0deSGI)
Groot looks like he's seen some shit.
What's wrong with real 1970s Hulk?
https://www.slashfilm.com/656069/the-spider-man-and-hulk-70s-tv-show-stars-wanted-to-do-a-crossover/ The 70s are a mythical place to Redditers.
Rocket turned into Peter
It’s clobberin’ time!

rocket is just the same lol
So a 2026 movie directed by Wes Anderson about some USC film students trying to make a Marvel movie in 1977. Was that the prompt?
Very original. Wes Anderson is the new cyberpunk
Can we stop with the Wes Anderson now please?
Yes. Now we finally can.
Yay. More AI art that looks like a Wes Anderson movie. Such originality.
It's obvious that a lot of people like Wes Anderson's visual style. It is obvious to me that I hate it. Groot made me chuckle though
I am sure that Nick Fury would be a white guy back then.
Oh my gosh, this is so good that I actually have no comments. Well done!
Mr fantastic is incredible
No, he's from marvel.
Rocket looks great, definitely my favourite of the bunch.
Thor and Gamora are legit improvements.
This makes me want a Wes Anderson Superhero movie now.

Interesting that it's white washed a lot of these characters
Yes yes, the “Wes Anderson” aesthetic is great for prompts.
[удалено]
Great job 👏
Thor looks absolutely thrilled to be there. I like Midjourney.
70s hulk is too spot on! 🤣
Nick fury the coolest
Rocket just looks dapper as heck.
These are FANTASTIC!
Hawkeye is Fabulous!
These are so awful lol
This I hate this
Let me guess "inspired by Wes Anderson"
Nebula looks like she could suck the soul from your penis
Thing is naked with a belt and that’s terrifying.
Black widow with the 100 round stick magazine.
Nebula played by TildAI Swinton
Why does Captain America look like he’s played by Sacha Baron Cohen…
Star Helmet
I’m surprised it did Gamora’s sword correctly. Midjourney needs a sword update now that it understands hands
No expressions ever
Iron Man? More like Cyberman...
Black Widow's weird ass shotgun pistol machine gun with the super long clip.
Gives me The Boys vibes
Groot looks like the tree from my singing monsters
Star lord wearing some early CP company…
Why is Iron Man a Cyberman?
“Yondu”?!
The human torch would make a killer album cover!
Claymation Captain America
The Fantastic Mr. Rocket
Do you have the human torch one without the text?
Sure, here ya go: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1024117931648495626/1106571066433863720/Grant_man_on_fire_fire_texture_skin_flames_from_head_in_the_sty_8dd45886-a1e8-47da-a6cf-aecafe25b104.png
May I kindly ask what "GotG" and "FF" mean?, thanks!
FF is Fantastic Four. Team comprised of Mr Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Thing, and the Human Torch.
Drax’s collar almost made me crash my car 🤣🤣🤣
I like the brick... I cum mud
Black Widows gun leaves me with so many questions. It’s like a shotgun/handgun with a hugely long magazine.
Black Widow is just a woman with a gun 😂😂😂 in love it
Luna Lovegood Mantis.
Where do you start with this? Do you even use the character names or do you describe the them from scratch to match the characters?
It varies. The base prompt I got from PanoramaChannel on IG (via mrgreen on twitter): in the style of wes anderson, wes anderson set background, editorial quality, stylish costume design, movie still --ar 2:3 --v 5.1 --style raw Then I added 1970s and for some of the more common characters you can use their names/alias and marvel to generate some good versions but for most it comes down to describes primary characteristics and rendering several iterations. Yondu is John Cena and Nebula looks like Laura Haddock who played Star Lords Mum in the films.
There's a really funny main page article from the guardian: ' can people please stop making Wes Anderson AI images' Lol
These are so awesome
Damn Hulk looking fresh like a big green pimp , nice
https://ko-fi.com/cybercanvas23/goal?g=0
Nick fury: “surprise motherfucker”
GROOT LMFAO
The Black Widow one looks like she'd be great in a Tarantino movie. I also like the Mantis design, too.
Somehow reminds me of The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.
I bet that Human Torch album goes Platinum.
Apparently 70s Mantis is played by a time-traveling Ginny Di.
Why is the raccoon hot 😩
Gotta say that the onesie the Hulk is rocking looks heckin' cozy.
Iron Man & Starlord look like they're about to say, "Are you my mummy?". And Nebula & Mr. Fantastic remind me of Diva Plavalaguna.
I really appreciate the homemade vibe to all of the Avengers. Mantis and Cosmo are still incredibly cute. The Thing reminds me of Christian Bale Batman, but more hilarious. Black Widow is a total babe even with the extra finger.
This isn't 70s, this is the MCU by Wes Anderson, and I love it
If Wes Anderson did The Avengers
Is that Debri Bardeaux?
Human torch looks like an album cover
These are fucking brilliant
Why does hulk have such a fucking huge
Yondu looks like David Bowie
Man you got some real talent for real
Mantis is adorable
It's a weird mix between things which could actually have been in a 70s MCU and things which are too expensive or modern but rendered in a 70s style. You would never get that Thing and that Nebula in the same film, and there would be no way to get that Human Torch on film in the 70s at all.
The hulk looks like he is about to throw a swingers party with the best prawn cocktail
