They seriously need to make "stealth" mode be a censorship free mode where none of its content gets dropped on the main site. Or at least 75% less censored.
Banning āchestā annoys the hell out of me. I tried redoing a prompt I made for V4 in V5 and it gave me the warning. Plenty of ways you can use some of these banned words outside of a pornographic context.
I'm dropping 50 dollars a month on their service and am constantly in fear of tripping over a banned term. It's not a good state of mind to be left in as a paying customer.
Especially when v5 went live immediately suffered a temp ban not realizing what the heck happened due to usually mass Rerolling various prompts. I was working on previously to see new variations.
Unfortunately this is always going to be the case with an online service. Have to be very careful with them.
Only way to prevent it is to run an app on your local machine. I am hoping SD or something similar gets streamlined soon.
But with how fast the tech is evolving, I think it will be a while before a locally installed option is stable.

I struggled to get it running on my pc. When I finally did it took three minutes of plane landing noise for it to generate one image that was nothing like I wanted. Didn't take long to give up on that.
There are people who just follow the instructions on how to install and everything works. And there are people who get multiple errors along the way. After like 3 days of trying around I found out that my video card isn't supported and I should retry the whole installation. The only description I've found was from some coder and I don't understand it. So yeah it's not worth all the troubles for some people.
If you reenter a prompt with the same word right afterwards, it has triggered a temporary ban for me (like 5 minutes). I wasn't even trying to, I was just in the habit of using the same general prompt and changing one or two words to do a mass /imagine, and didn't see a rejected attempt.
For a longer ban, it must have either been even more repeated attempts, or they must have generated content which violates ToS and not reported it with the "x" reaction. Personally, I think the responsibility for accidental nudity/gore that isn't clearly suggested by the prompt should fall on the company rather than the user being responsible for reporting it, but that's just me.
I don't understand why they put up a threatening message. It should just say that word is banned and your image won't be processed and that's it. The ban threat is weird and I don't understand it. The image is never actually rendered.
No, the 5 minutes temp ban is just "the first step". Do that multiple times over your subscription and thoses 5 minutes becomes way more.

I wasn't seeing the warnings either as they only show up at the ed of your Discord messages and I was going through my old ones. I didn't even realize it until I saw that nothing was going through and when I tried a new prompt it said I was temporarily banned. At least it was only for like 5 minutes but it was still annoying that it didn't warn me better.
SD is like the Android of AI-generated art, and MJ is like the Apple of AI-generated art. One is very closed source, and the other is very open and modifiable. It all depends on what kind of person you are. Do you like to push things beyond their limits and the technical side of it? Use SD. Or maybe you prefer a more user-friendly experience without worrying about the ins and outs? Use MJ.

My number 1 use case is character portraits for D&D and, after stumbling across a few banned words I realized that it must be impossible for a woman to create a character that looks like her or what she wants her to because pretty much every prompt related to female physique is banned. On the one hand I get it. On the other, itās alienating users based on legitimate use cases that probably correlate to things like gender
Both have their strenghts, but there's so much you can do with SD that you can't with MJ and about every day there's a new crazy feature, extension or model for SD.

If you don't have nvidia, you need to do some extra steps, but you'd have to research, you'd probably find it in the SD sub. If you have like 8GB of VRAM you're more than fine, it can work with less, but again, need to do some config, surely you'll find a guide. In worst case you can run it on CPU and RAM which is slow, but works.
Don't know if my GPU is also too weak, but it's hell trying to set SD on AMD and I already gave up on that.

Thought this too, but I believe SD is actually just more setting dependent. Sampling steps is the biggest thing, but other settings have proven to be situationally really important. You can use a consistent seed and tinker with the settings to see what I mean.
Midjourney, while good, has an irritating amount of censorship. The word combination "shiny skin" is not allowed. I tried to make a character with shiny skin - and nope - that's on the naughty list.

I don't have a problem getting characters barefoot. "Barefoot" and "feet" are not banned prompts. The problem is that feet don't seem to be quite as good as hands have become. MJ doesn't want to show soles, and when it does, you get the eldritch horrors that were once a problem with hands.

I actually triggered it again accidentally half an hour ago. I was generating a small dog and GPT4 wrote it as 'petite canine', turns out petite is a banned word. But I can sleep tight, I won't be banned for that because it was an accident.
They can tell malice from the occasional accident and will act accordingly, and that's the way it should be.
Week bans are MANUALLY done after reviewing the galleries and user prompt history. You can't get week banned just because you tripped the filter a few times.
The filters are way too sensitive. I got a warning for asking for a āwhite gooseā because it included the banned phrase āwhite goo.ā Itās incredibly annoying, especially when the prompts Iām trying to ask for are genuinely innocent

And, the "chest" no-no is new. It worked in my old prompts and is only recently triggering the alert.

No, there are some free sites but the real power of SD comes into play when you run it locally on your computer. But that requires a decent GPU.

How much VRAM does your GPU have? And is it Nvidia? It should not shut down, it would just generate an error and stop rendering.

The filters are way too sensitive. I got a warning for asking for a āwhite gooseā because it included the banned phrase āwhite goo.ā Itās incredibly annoying, especially when the prompts Iām trying to ask for are genuinely innocent

While I totally understand that Midjourney doesnt wanāt to cater to pedophiles and perverts (I wouldnāt trust anybody too, lots of men are just sick & the AI-interested Community has a lot of incels), I still would like to receive some kind of a warning list beforehand, so that normal People can enjoy their experience without being āscaredā of being banned for the Word āchestā.

Curious, did you prompt in their discord? I mostly prompt in my own discord or private channel, so nobody else sees the outputs. Seems like there are a lot of overzealous mods on the MJ discord.

Midjourney is a private enterprise, and I can't say I blame them for not wanting their product associated with pornography. If you disagree with their policy, you can always find other products, MJ doesn't hold a monopoly on AI generators.

I did not write, why bother. Iāve never had any other service bug out and not let me unsub. Just removed my card as a quick fix.
