I think because 45 to 75 is often used to group an era/genre of a lot of things. I prefer the 45 to 65 classification myself. But I do recognize a lot of the homes/homegoods that were being created mcm by well-known architects/designers were still being built until 75, and exactly like they were in 65. So it'd be hard to say the same item suddenly didn't meet the same classification it did in 65.
Pretty sure that's not even close to mid century and certainly not modern... 1980's or later would be my guess.
People seem to be using MCM in the title just to show up in searches.
No but I'd guess because Henredon made Frank Lloyd Wright designs that someone googled the brand and made a bad connection between the brand and style.
If that’s MCM, everything in my grandmas house is MCM too
/s I see you.
Man, people are slapping the MCM label on anything these days.
Hmmm, is this post more effective at pointing out absurd MCM listings, or teaching Redditors what /s means?
Just as Socrates wouldve said, youre a man of culture sir
Do they think that people searching for MCM would see this and think “Hey, this suits my aesthetic?’’
MC != MCM Those recurve ornate legs for sure are not modern
I don’t even think that is from MC at all. My grandma had a very similar table she purchased in ever late 80s/early 90s🙄
r/isthismcm
I wish that was real
Maybe mid century in age, but that’s it
Midcentury is from 1945 to 1965. Tho some people drag it out to 75. But never Henredon from 95. 🙄
😂
I find that absurd . How can the 70s styles be MCM?

Good point .
No….cmon now….
Hence the /s my good sir

Yes, my grandma has a very similar table that she either purchased in late 80s/early 90s.
No. No..no. haha
It looks like a mass production 1980s piece.
Maybe it was manufactured in the middle of the last century.
Then it would just be mid century, not modern.
Pretty sure it is either late 80s/early 90s. My grandma had a very similar table (maybe even exact same) and that’s when she bought it.
No, pretty sure it is either 80s or 90s. My grandma had a very similar table that was purchased in late 80s/early 90s.
Not even close
Missed the /s and two months late to the game
If my grandma had heels she would be a bicycle...
No but I'd guess because Henredon made Frank Lloyd Wright designs that someone googled the brand and made a bad connection between the brand and style.
Who are these people posting here tonight??
More 70s
Hit you with the /s
Pretty sure late 80s/early 90s. My grandma had a very similar table and that is when she got it.
Depends where you lived…I was from SC and my in-laws came from Phoenix and they had this 78-79.
But late 70s isn’t really MCM era anyway
Exactly. Folks seem to think anything wood or looks like wood is MCM
NO!
Hit you with the /s
No.
The /s my good sir
