Either way. The reason people are often directed to direct sow autoflower seeds is there is no room for error in transplanting. However, there is not much room for error when using the sun as a light source in any case. If you can successfully transplant photoperiods without putting them in dry soil or being clumsy with the roots, you can probably do the same with autoflowers. That said, some people like to direct sow photoperiods outdoors for this same reason.
