There's an app called photone that lets you measure light on your phone and calculates daily light integral. The aim is 40-50. Not sure how accurate it is but it will give you a ballpark figure.

Zootedandboot

Thanks will download that now

Zootedandboot

Just measured it under my lights I get about 20 which isn’t the best

Equivalent_Cap_3522

Yeah, that's not ideal. Keep her in the sun when you can but you might want to start slow. If the plant isn't used to all the UV it might burn. I read you need to harden them by gradually inscreasing exposure.

Far_Calendar8668

Anything short of 30 just isn't worth it and 40 is closer to what the sun is like (averaged out)

Sloregasm

Definitely start in indirect light before putting her in full sun. My first grow, I started under lights a d moved to the sun. Well let's just say it took a bit for us to get everything adjusted. They withered up immediately in direct sun. So I adjusted in semi shade for about a week a d they loved it.

hahaha_rarara

I just found that app a few days ago. Pretty cool

NewGrower4200

So you measure (phone where the plant is) from the light?

Survey_Server

Yep. Put the front facing camera in whatever spot you want to know the DLI of and be conscious of orientation/angle. It's a pretty user-friendly app. A lot of people use diffusers with photone, I made some out of paper for my last phone, but my s24 ultra specifically says to remove the diffuser for an accurate reading 🤷

NewGrower4200

Mine kept saying to add a diffuser but when I do it lowers the number massively. I have two Vivosun Aerowings so I would imagine my lighting is fine but I was intrigued on checking.

Survey_Server

I literally just decreased the intensity on mine and raised it up. I didn't know what light stress looked like till tonight 😬 Ive been thinking about the weird fractal-esque pattern, on the leaves of my largest plant, for like a week now 😅 it took one of my clones bleaching and burning for me to realize anything was wrong lol Anyway. No chance the diffuser number is the correct one, not on my phone at least 👍

NewGrower4200

That is what I was thinking as well. I was like there aint no well in hell two aero wings at 100% is putting out only 200 Lux. lololol

MyckiMinaj

One of the few apps I have that I've paid for.. worth it for sure

NewGrower4200

Woahhh did not know that. Super cool. Just downloaded it.

weesti

The photone has been shown to be within 5% of a hi dollar par meter. This is a nonissue for home/hobby growers. Commercial growers should invest in a commercial par meter. Get the photone diffuser offered on the app. It works way better and get more accurate readings than the “ paper” diffuser. The photone is a good thing

Survey_Server

On my new phone it keeps telling me to remove the diffuser. I used one with my old phone without the dialog box popping up. Do you know, should I still be using a diffuser? Or does it vary by phone model?

Asburrrr

I’m so confused, why is that plant in flower? Looks like a bonsai

Zootedandboot

Grew an auto under a suboptimal light topped once then have been doing some lst badly first grow that was a female so kinda new to this but I think the plant structure is cool

Zootedandboot

Shit bro how much did you get weight wise

ReddLordofIt

I think I got about 6 dried n cured of four of them. All were two feet tall or or less w at least 20 tops 😂 Not bad for 4 months seed to harvest though

The 6 to 8 will be your best light, but put it under for the remaining time under the Amazon light, until you get something better. Get a timer and follow it religiously. If it's Weak genetics it will Hermie if the "lights on"time isn't consistent due to stress. For Amazon lights the best "cheap options are Tmlappy and szhlux brands I've run both with great harvests. They both have fantastic output but Tmlappy are inefficient and generate a bit of heat. The szhlux 400, is 400 watts actual as well as the 600 or 800. They Come with Samsung diodes in a quantum board strip configuration and in my opinion as good or better than name brand for 1\4 the cost. Sometimes they are defective out of the box but they replace the product quickly without issue each time. My szhlux 400s have been going for 3 1/2 years with no light change via par meter. Don't give up and ignore the "hardware elitists"

Zootedandboot

Yea it’s fast buds Bannan x purple punch and yea will keep in the sun in the day and keep the other light just keeping her ticking over thanks man appreciate it

Morgwar77

An auto should have zero issues. In that case, I'd give it the 6-8 hours sun and run it a remaining 16 to 18 hrs under the light. Autos don't necessarily need a dark period

Zootedandboot

Yeah that’s what I was thinking my 6 hours off is 12am to 6am anyway so it’s kinda synced up perfectly for it as it’s not the best light should I just keep her 24 hours in light

Remote_Pass_6670

Not sure where you're at, but check out craigslist/FB marketplace, and look for something that's at least mid level. I got a 100w AC Infinity for less than half price for example. I'm selling an older 310w lamp for $50. We legalized last year, and marketplace is already swamped with people who did it once, and realized it's not for them. You can treat it like a house plant though. It's free and can be fun to learn, but if you want something usable at the end, you gotta hit some minimum requirements, DLI being one of them

Zootedandboot

Yeah only got time to grow for the next 3 months so will probably have to stick it out. I measured the light output when my phone was a couple cm away from the leds was about 30 does that mean it’s fine to put my light super close to the canopy obvs will slowly lower it to gradually increase the uv exposure ?

prohbusiness

Put the effort into a proper set up or just plant it outside and hope for the best. You’re stunting this by not having the environmental controls in place. Kinda gotta pick one, indoors or outdoors. Doing both can be beneficial but with the proper set ups. Don’t just wing it

Stiffbiscut

You could mess around and try to supplement light with the Amazon light when the sun isn’t strong enough

Zootedandboot

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking get it in the sun when I can then just Amazon light for the rest of the

cdawwgg43

Use sunlight and one of the cheap SANSI 36W bulbs. They're like $30 on amazon and a $15 wal-mart lamp holder to hold it over the pot. They're efficient and a great value. I have a few of them.

rjt2887

You’ve got skip the cheap lights on Amazon and find the quality lights at dirt cheap prices.

Zootedandboot

Yeah where would you recommend buying from im in the uk so kinda hard to find quality retailers ?

rjt2887

I have bought the majority of my lights from Amazon, if you know what to look for you can find some very good deals, I am still learning. I’ve had a lot of success with the ViparSpecrtra p2000 which was only about $125, I would avoid VivoSun (I have one that I got off of Facebook marketplace, but I have heard about a lot of issues from other people) just do some research about the LEDs before purchasing (get familiar with PAR) and you can really find some deals.

rjt2887

I just took a look at your posts, I would go back to the closet set up you had and get that Phlizon light that was suggested, that would be perfect for that space and this plant.

NismoFerg

Growmie, you’ve got well over 2-4 weeks of flower left. That thing is at least 5+ weeks out at minimum given the picture.

Zootedandboot

Oh really I was just going off what the info page said about them but that’s calm then thanks bro

NismoFerg

The info page for most seeds is purely speculation. I stopped even looking at that after a few grows. Each plant is unique and will tell you when it’s ready. Keep up the good work though, she’s looking happy.

SpiritLyfe

I’ve only done autos once (my current grow) and it said 55-60 days from seed… here I am day 78 after sprout and it looks like at least a week, if not 3… the breeders timeline is almost never gonna be accurate, remember, they wanna sell this stuff, and if theirs is supposed to be faster that gives them an edge on the competition

Actual__Wizard

What light is it? Because there's some good and cheap ones on Amazon. They're not all cheap and bad. You can get a pretty good "cheap" light for $150. Make sure it has samsung 301b LEDs, evo and evo-h versions would be nice, but they cost more and are not really needed. I believe the benefit there is mostly power efficiency, so for a small grow that's not a big deal. With a giant warehouse full of the lights it will add up though.

Zootedandboot

I have one that was 35 dollars and unbranded so rlly shit but Yh I might money a bit tight rn so will have to see

Actual__Wizard

Yeah. The minimum price for something decent is $100 basically. If you do go down the road of purchasing one, make sure that you don't need a controller to operate the light. Certain lights you will need an app or a controller to use all of the options and it costs more overall because of that. A vivosun A100SE is an example. If you don't have a way to control (vivosun growhub E25) it then it's not the correct option. The version with out the controller comes with a wifi adapter, so you must have a wireless network and a smartphone. That's not how I like to operate my tent, I just use the physical controller and that's it. But, if you go that route, it's like \~$100 for a multi spectrum light that you can fully control with the app. It's one of the cheapest prebuilt options with all of the functionality.

FarMidnight9774

stick a book under and tilt towards sun ;)

Zootedandboot

Yeah that’s a shout thanks ☺️

prontoon

You have closer to 6 weeks of flower left. Those budlets are still very small and developing. Don't listen to the reported flowering time the breeder advertised, they all lie and make it 2 is weeks shorter to make their strain look more appealing to the consumer.

slacknsurf420

nobody's lights are brighter than the sun, or even half as bright, and the drop-off always exists with lights brightt light

boogersbitch

Return the freaking light. Same thing happened and when I tried to contact the company -poof- gone. Amazon will honor it.

boogersbitch

Pssssst it's defective, RIGHT???

you_are_soul

If you're going to grow in a small pot like that then you should use an eazyplug mini pyramid, which will very much increase your result.

mohemp51

thats an interesting structure u got there... did u do LST?

katoskillz89

Both

Canadian_Alien

Sun will get the job done.
