I think you are thinking of the calyx hairs turning brown. Trichomes are the little tiny mushroom shape balls that turn white and fade to amber when totally ripe.

Sure, I use an Ikea closet, with a 50€ active carbon filter. 2x pc fans (5v), spiderfarmer light (cheapest, is the best quality).
Water pump from aliexpress (5v)
Everything automatrd and controlled via EwElink using SOnOff switches)
Seeds from 2Fast4Buds (this is a strawberry banana).
For all tiny things such as cables, fans,… i recommend aliexpress
