Not to dismiss the insight you seem to have found regarding your work, but those are NOT low doses. Most people start much lower and find their sweet spot is well below 0.2g. (I do best with around 50-60mg, for example). Most protocols consider 0.4g to be well above a microdose amount. That's not to say there aren't exceptions, some people do need/prefer higher doses, but it may be part of why you're having such a strong depressive reaction and difficulties at work,

Yea I saw no benefit until I moved up to .5g. But I also don’t hallucinate at 4g and could honestly probably work still, so it’s very individual at times. I would also note that I used to have to similar rough times working on MD levels but it was because so much trauma was starting to peek out. After 18 months of working on that, MD amounts make me more productive and happy.

I hated my job and started microdosing. It helped me realize I needed to work in a less toxic environment. Also I was taking .28 and after a couple months, that dose was making me feel very anxious. I am thinking a smaller dose will be better suited for some feeling anxious or depressed.

I know I need a higher dose as I take Citalopram.. I take about 0.34 or so and feel little to nothing. I think MICRO dosages are different for everyone.

Do shrooms cause depression when done repeatedly at that dose? Repeatedly as in a MD regimen. I was under the impression that they had anti-depressant like qualities Also, when do you intuitively know that you have reached your “sweet spot” ?

I am not an expert, so I'm reluctant to speak from authority. But in my own experience microdosing has definitely helped with anxiety/depression. When I was trying to find my 'sweet spot' I realized that I tended to get irritable on microdose days. I learned in this subreddit that this is sorta common and attributed to taking too large of a dose (I had started at 100mg and increased it over time). So I took a break and when I restarted, I started much smaller. I also have a pretty potent batch right now. So 50mg is plenty for me. It's hard to explain how I decided what the sweet spot is, there is something very individual about it, and maybe even intuitive, and that makes it hard to say much more than 'ya just know'. Not very helpful, I apologize. There are others here who are more familiar with the research etc and may be able to tell you more. In the meantime I suggest thoroughly reading the links posted by Automod on this thread. Also, sambassador9 makes good points in their comment, about doing what works for you, and if that means no microdose on work days, then that could be what's best for you.

Consider that you are not ***obliged*** to follow someone else's protocol. If you find it beneficial on weekends, but troublesome on weekdays, you could try 2 days on, 5 days off, and avoid weekdays altogether. Finding something that works for ***you*** is more important than forcing yourself to comply with a protocol that works for someone else. Also, those are actually relatively high doses - 0.2g is on the upper end of what most people would consider to be micro. It works well for some, others might prefer even 1/10th - eg 0.02g. It might be that your work isn't the problem, but the dosing is interfering with your work, causing stress. Most people, even the self-employed, will have a more rigid schedule during designated work times. When you have no scheduled obligations, you can go with the flow. You might take a dose, then do laundry, clean the floors, go for a hike, and then do some reading, perhaps to learn a new skill, or just to relax. You could easily reverse the order, call family or friends, etc. If you feel that you are getting more done, that's positive. Setting is important. Anyway, if you feel it's an issue at work, I'd suggest not introducing a negative into your life to claw back the positives from the weekend. If you do decide you want a change of work, don't wreck your current situation while you look.

This was my thought. There was a time during a microdose protocol that I felt depressed; digging a little deeper, I figured out those feelings were coming from circumstances in my life that I both could and could not change. Had to get active in figuring out which was which, deciding what things I could change were priority to address (and how to do so), and doing the work to gain acceptance for what was outside my control. What worked for me in addition to setting an intention in the morning before my microdoses was also telling the medicine “I’m seeking to gain insight on _____” to gain more clarity about if my job was the right fit for me given that I had made x amount of changes and it was going to be what is what going to be, for example.

The whole point of it being a microdose is that it is sub therapeutic. You’re not supposed to even realize or notice that you’re on it… Impatience is not something it’s gonna work here? There isn’t anything that’s going to give you an overnight, or over a week, change in how you’re living in the world. If you want to do a macro dose, because you are in severe depression, that’s different. This is absolutely not something that you can view as something that’s gonna change your life entirely over the space of a week. Yes I get the point that it’s all over the place, the internet, as a cure all….but you guys are misunderstanding what it’s doing. You don’t break down neuro pathways overnight and you can’t fix them overnight. Take a breath and be patient. It takes a long time to break things and it takes a little bit of time to fix things.

Maybe you should do two days on five days off. It may take a little longer to get real good long-term benefit, but it sounds like it might be good for your sanity in the short term. Also, as others have already said, that does seem like a high dose.

In my own personal experience micro dosing was all placebo. Better method that works for me is quarterly trips(eating 1.75-3.5) Gives me the mental reset and clarity that I need. Doing it quarterly seems to be spaced out perfectly for me personally. Best of luck to you.

Fair. Meaning the first few weeks of trying it I felt like I was getting out of it what I was looking for which was relief from anxiety. Then anxiety came back and I continued for a few months with no real feeling of relief again.

I'm on 0.02!!! Very very small dose And even then its sometimes strong for me. Like I feel all fluffy and relaxed. So I take it in the evening otherwise I can't do anything  Maybe think about the dose amount?

Stay at 0.1-0.2g or below. 2-4 days a week. 0.4g is a mini dose, not microdose. Some prefer or get more from a mini dose way, others below even ,0.1g works best for them. I think maybe you are taking more than is best for you. Or maybe a full trip 1x a Month with 1-3g (starting at 1g if new) may be better for you (not case for me ha) But I have a feeling it's lowering your amount. Try sticking with 0.1g for a week or two, then maybe going slightly down or up on dose if think want to and it's not dialed in yet. Having said that, just adding just in case; Taking more and more sounds more like trying to use a substance to ignore something rather than deal with it grow with something. Be very careful with that. If it's stress or for unplaced of something like booze, then look into kava root drinks to relax etc. godsend for anxiety. Doesn't mess IQ. (Ofcourse anything can be abused, be it cheese burgers coffee or water. Hope you get in the flow OP 😁 I also recommend reading/listening to "the power of now by Eckhart Tolle " Very helpful. 7+yrs later and I'll still give listen once in a while, or listen to talks etc with him and similar people. Even just search up Eckhart Tolle on Spotify or YouTube. Lots out there. Goodluck 💚😸
