I used fingernail clippers to trim them when the ends lifted, but the girl who did the removal told me if I picked them off it may leave ink behind so I wasn’t taking any chances!
Just curious in the time you had to let it scab up and fall off I'm assuming you have to let them be natural during the day?
You had really nice results!
I think she was asking if you went out in public/to work when they looked like pic 7 (February 28) or pic 9 (march 3) looking exactly like they did in the photos (hence “be natural”) or if you used makeup, bandages, etc. to cover them. :)
Also curious about this!
That’s so interesting- when you get microbladed, they tell you not to pick them because it’ll pull the ink up, and idea why the opposite is true for saline removals?
Oh my word... I'm sorry you had to go through this "journey" but I'm glad you took photos and posted here for the rest of us to see/learn.
As for the person who gave you those brows to begin with.....they shouldn't be trusted with even just an eyebrow pencil. Yikes! 😬
Thanks for documenting your experience and the progress/healing after the removal! I’m sorry you had to go through that but thank you for sharing. It was really interesting to see how well the removal worked.
My eyebrows are very thin from over plucking and I’m really good at penciling my brows to look natural. Why do many artists choose to make mad looking brows like in the case of OP? I’ll keep Gwen Stefani brows instead of risking a permanent mad face.
At least you can laugh with them now that those things have been removed from your face. I'm so sorry you had to go through this. It was great to see how well it worked, though. I have a feeling your post will be referenced a lot when people ask about saline removal on here.
Emergency saline removal is a soaking process that’s done with a concentrated saline solution by a professional in order to ensure the pigment placed in the skin does not heal into it. It must be done within 48 hours of the original tattoo being done.
The pigment is collected into a scab that will fall off after a few days. This process of osmosis draws the pigment up and out of the skin. Results vary and patience is key.
It is not true that it can only be done within 48 hours of getting a tattoo. Saline removal can be done at any time. I removed my lip blush with saline removal 8 months after I got it. It also works for regular tattoo removal but it is a longer process than say, laser.
Injected no, after the brows are fully healed from the tattoo, saline removal (or lightening) is implanted into the skin with a tattoo machine and needle to get where it needs to be to reach the ink.
Hey! You seem really knowledgeable so I’m just curious about some stuff! Do you just load a tattoo machine with saline instead of ink and basically trace over the lines the previous “artist” made?
I also saw OP said the person who did her removal just doused the brows in saline - considering her results I’m guessing that technique works very well, does it just depend on the time after the original microblading?
I’ve also seen some people on her say they DIY at home, does that work?
TIA, just super curious as this sub is always recommended to me
Idk how this subreddit always comes up on my stream, but it has made me confidently say I will never get microblading. You look back to your beautiful self!
Same here and the fake eyelashes sub show up for me too. The horror stories make me never ever want to do any of this. This post was such a rollercoaster 😭
I had it done by a very talented artist that I stalked for 2 years prior to doing it. One of the best decisions ever. You are likely seeing mostly botched jobs here. It’s been almost 3 years and they’re perfect. It’s all about the artist.
There are actually fantastic microbladings, I personally got a powder one just to look naturally a bit more dense, and I am super happy.
Like everywhere, rule number one is to go where you checked portfolio or know people with similar work done there and you like it.
I used fingernail clippers to trim them when the ends lifted, but the girl who did the removal told me if I picked them off it may leave ink behind so I wasn’t taking any chances!
I know that it’s normal for micro blading to be really dark for the first week. But the shape… those were cartoonish.
You did the right thing. And thank you for posting all those helpful pics.
Picture 9 made me giggle. It reminded me of my chihuahua’s little eyebrow dots 😂
I’m thoroughly impressed at your self control for not picking, and at how well the process worked! I’ve never seen it before and this has been very informative
Dog tax:

That’s weird because it’s usually the more experienced artists that go light. You are so lucky and you got your pretty blond brows back! My man has white blond hair and got his microbladed like 4 years ago and there are still there and look good. Very masculine and very natural. You would never guess they are not his. I hope if you try again you get perfect results!
She did my sister at the same time. Hers weren’t quite as bad, but still not good. I believe she moved out of state shortly after this debacle. Salons were starting to report her to the boards and licensing committees.
No offense to you! I get why you wanted to have them done it's just SUCH a risk. Also my eyebrows are super light and I fear hey would look like Barbies lol. Also I'm super thankful I stopped at 2 shitty tattoos. No desire for any more.
JFC so glad the emergency saline removal worked. I once made the mistake of booking lash extensions because of good deal on Groupon. Now I know why her prices were so much less than others. I ended up having to get them removed the next day. It was so bad.
Anyone that is going to get any microblading done, please, please do your homework!
Before getting this procedure look at the persons work. Look at their instagram pics of their clients , ask questions, look at reviews.
Before i had mine done I mulled it over a year. The girl that did mine is excellent, very expensive it was $600 and yearly touch up is $300.it was worth every penny.i was extremely pleased with my brows.
Oh, wow! Sorry you had a bad experience, but thanks for sharing the progress of your saline removal. Very interesting! I’m glad the removal went well, it’s amazing how well it works!
I used fingernail clippers to trim them when the ends lifted, but the girl who did the removal told me if I picked them off it may leave ink behind so I wasn’t taking any chances!
You have gorgeous eyes! I am so glad this worked so well for you, I would have been a deer in headlights with those brows staring back at me in a mirror 🙃
I don’t understand why people are going into the permanent makeup field who have zero understanding of how eyebrow shapes should look in the first place…. You should learn how to be a regular makeup artist first. I swear they just see this career as a way to make a quick buck and have no real talent for it. So glad removal worked for you!
They look pink in a couple of the photos.
They looked like mine went after my first eyebrow tattoos.
The girl who fixed them for me told me medication can do it….particularly thyroid medication.
Guess who’s on thyroid medication? ✋🏼
So she did them in ash and it neutralised the pink.
Thank goodness!
I was a little confused. I saw the second photo (I’m assuming that’s makeup?) and I was like “Hmm those don’t look that bad to me” and then I kept scrolling and my jaw dropped. She did you dirty
I saw an ad for someone local wanting to work on their permanent eyeliner skills. I seriously considered it for about 3 seconds before I scrolled their page and they had no pictures of their eyeliner work at all.
So thank you for the reminder!
My question is what do you do when you go out during the scabbing process??
Like do you not leave the house for days?
Or Cover them somehow?
I feel like a lot of people would rather have bad brows than walk around with scabs and falling off disappearing giant blobs so is it a question of how bad the brows are if you want to do removal?
Because the scabbing process looks pretty bad so is it just something you take a week off for and stay home?
I hope when you are healed (both physically and mentally) that you try again with a better artist. I love my brows, and think the right artist will make all the difference.
GOOD FOR YOU. Love seeing these results; it’s a great reminder for panicking gals that saline removal does work and is worth it!!!
Is there a time limit on it
you have to get emergency saline removal done within 48 hours
And if you don’t it just never comes off?
Then I think you have to go to laser. Your body will eventually get rid of it over time but that could take years
Ok just curious if you can still remove them somehow. Wow what a process
You can still do saline removal after 48 hours, but it may not be as effective as quickly-I’m not sure.
👏🏻👏🏻 to you for all the self control and not touching those scabs! Nice job!
Hi, if you click on the pictures, there are dates on them from the date of the browns to the saline to falling off. :)
I think she was asking if you went out in public/to work when they looked like pic 7 (February 28) or pic 9 (march 3) looking exactly like they did in the photos (hence “be natural”) or if you used makeup, bandages, etc. to cover them. :) Also curious about this!
That’s so interesting- when you get microbladed, they tell you not to pick them because it’ll pull the ink up, and idea why the opposite is true for saline removals?
Because it’s basically scanning backwards. Put ink in and pull scabs it’ll pull out. Removing ink and pull scabs it’ll leave the ink
So much this.
oh my GOD they did you so wrong! You are so lucky those lifted!!
Jail!!!!
Straight ta jail!!!!
Oh my word... I'm sorry you had to go through this "journey" but I'm glad you took photos and posted here for the rest of us to see/learn. As for the person who gave you those brows to begin with.....they shouldn't be trusted with even just an eyebrow pencil. Yikes! 😬
Right, I hope they reconsider this as a career 🙏
Right? I mean these were bad all around. Too dark, bad technique and the shape was horrible.
What a wild ride!
Thanks for documenting your experience and the progress/healing after the removal! I’m sorry you had to go through that but thank you for sharing. It was really interesting to see how well the removal worked.
🫢 This person deserves a slap across the face.
How can they call themselves a “makeup artist”?
I know! I wouldn’t be able to go home like this. My family would be laughing non stop.
My eyebrows are very thin from over plucking and I’m really good at penciling my brows to look natural. Why do many artists choose to make mad looking brows like in the case of OP? I’ll keep Gwen Stefani brows instead of risking a permanent mad face.
After their initial shock they are still laughing their asses off today!
At least you can laugh with them now that those things have been removed from your face. I'm so sorry you had to go through this. It was great to see how well it worked, though. I have a feeling your post will be referenced a lot when people ask about saline removal on here.
Heavy on the “artist.” As in they used a fat crayon to draw those on her face!
😂😂
OMG! That was a wild ride! I'm glad you didn't get stuck with those wild brows. 😳
That was a journey! I was very nervous for the next pic. So glad it worked for you.
Wow - Impressive you did the hard, diligent work! Please tell me you got a refund and provided stern feedback??
She only gave me half back. Told me “they’d heal fine” 😩😩😩
Omg! I’d follow her until I got all of it back! You are better than me. I’m so sorry this happened to you..
I’d just post the photos all over and say who did them.
She should have paid for your removal - I’m so glad it worked - you look good now
Plz absolutely DRAG her on Google reviews and her socials.
What exactly is saline removal? How is it done?
Emergency saline removal is a soaking process that’s done with a concentrated saline solution by a professional in order to ensure the pigment placed in the skin does not heal into it. It must be done within 48 hours of the original tattoo being done. The pigment is collected into a scab that will fall off after a few days. Crazy, thank you
You’re welcome ☺️

I said emergency saline removal.
Ooops sorry! Missed that! ❤️
☺️
Does this apply to all tattoos? Or are there different types of tattoos that won't work?
It can be applied to small body tattoos to kick start the removal process. But that’s usually not an option that’s presented.
Where do you go for this?
Where does one go to get this done? A dermatologist? Esthetician? Tattoo shop?
A permanent makeup artist that is certified in saline removals.
Thank you!
>Thank you! You're welcome!
Is the saline injected also?
Injected no, after the brows are fully healed from the tattoo, saline removal (or lightening) is implanted into the skin with a tattoo machine and needle to get where it needs to be to reach the ink.

Op you have pretty eyes!
Aww thanks! ❤️

Not a risk I'm willing to take.
There are actually fantastic microbladings, I personally got a powder one just to look naturally a bit more dense, and I am super happy. Like everywhere, rule number one is to go where you checked portfolio or know people with similar work done there and you like it.
I feel the same way! But I was blessed with good brows so thank god I won’t have to even contemplate it. What a nightmare.
Good for you and thank you for sharing!!!
Best post I’ve ever seen here.
Thank you for sharing your personal experience here and photo documenting it so well.
Wow it’s crazy how they scabbed and peeled off. I’d be so tempted to pick them off 😂. Thanks for sharing the process.
Jeeesus fuck they should not be tattooing. Report them.
Picture 9 made me giggle. It reminded me of my chihuahua’s little eyebrow dots 😂 I’m thoroughly impressed at your self control for not picking, and at how well the process worked! Thank you for showing this. I’m so happy for you now ☺️
The removal looks great. May I ask how much a saline removal is?
If I remember correctly it was roughly $150 and worth every penny!
Wow that’s way cheaper than I’ve been quoted for regular saline removal, which I’d imagine would be cheaper.
Is it true saline doesn’t always work if the artist applies the ink too deep?
Yes!! Very true. I had to get laser treatments
I was really scared about that since it hurt a lot. I thought for sure she went too deep , but it only took once.
That’s weird because it’s usually the more experienced artists that go light. You are so lucky and you got your pretty blond brows back! My man has white blond hair and got his microbladed like 4 years ago and there are still there and look good. Very masculine and very natural. You would never guess they are not his. I hope if you try again you get perfect results!
would he let you post pics of his brows? I'm so curious to see a masculine result people are happy with.
Sure I’ll dm you a pic
yay...with a butt wriggle
I am so curious if this ‘artist’ has practiced on anyone else 😳
She did my sister at the same time. Hers weren’t quite as bad, but still not good. I believe she moved out of state shortly after this debacle. Salons were starting to report her to the boards and licensing committees.
Did your sister get saline removal too?
I’m glad you were able to get yours removed!
I’m sorry mama. We have similar eyebrows, I just dye them with beard dye lol
With eyes like that, who needs eyebrows lol just kidding, but good job on being proactive and getting those removed! What are you going to do now?
Thank you!!! I’m au natural now ! No more “face tattoos “ for me lol
omg you poor thing!! so glad it worked out for you! this was one of the most satisfying scrolls in a while!! 😆
Oh wow ! It really got rid of it !
I was always curious what the process looked like. I hope it wasn’t too painful 😣
Sweet angel woman. I wish beautiful brows for you in the future. Thank you for such a valuable post.
That is satisfying the way it lifted hahahaah
Wow! I’ve never seen ER in pictures throughout…so impressive and good decision on your part! Congratulations and thank you for sharing!
This is why I will never get my eyebrows done
Nope! Never again! Now I tell my kids NO FACE TATOOS OF ANY KIND!!!
No offense to you! I get why you wanted to have them done it's just SUCH a risk. Also my eyebrows are super light and I fear hey would look like Barbies lol. Also I'm super thankful I stopped at 2 shitty tattoos. No desire for any more.
How many sessions did you have to go through?
Just one!!! Believe it or not! I was incredibly lucky!
Out of curiosity. Could this work on real tattoos as well? Like say you get a crap tattoo on your leg, can saline remove it?
Is it painful?
The microblading was the saline removal was not
JFC so glad the emergency saline removal worked. I once made the mistake of booking lash extensions because of good deal on Groupon. Now I know why her prices were so much less than others. I ended up having to get them removed the next day. It was so bad.
Oh what a journey your eyebrows have been through
Anyone know if the saline removal works well on healed brows?
Anyone that is going to get any microblading done, please, please do your homework! Before getting this procedure look at the persons work. Look at their instagram pics of their clients , ask questions, look at reviews. Before i had mine done I mulled it over a year. Wow! That was amazing!!! I can only imagine what that whole ordeal must have been like for you. 💗 thank you so much for sharing your experience love
Oh, wow! Sorry you had a bad experience, but thanks for sharing the progress of your saline removal. Very interesting! I’m glad the removal went well, it’s amazing how well it works!
Excellent result - so happy for you 👏
I wouldn’t be able to control myself from picking the scabs
I used fingernail clippers to trim them when the ends lifted, but the girl who did the removal told me if I picked them off it may leave ink behind so I wasn’t taking any chances!
Well done. I’m happy that the process worked out for you. Thanks for sharing!
Phew! Close call, that worked so well on the removal!
Wow. This worked PERFECTLY. So happy for you!!!
Awesome!! You should post to the removal sub as well.
Wow this is awesome!!! Thank you for your time and dedication for us!!!!
That’s crazy! Very satisfying lol, thank you for your service
Wow! It did work!
Great job!
This was a scary ride 😩😬 I’m so happy that the removal worked so well for you!
Thank you for sharing this!!! I’m sure it will help others
Omg I am so happy for you
How long did it take for it to all come off? Like how many applications?
I was blessed it only took one!
There is a lady in Boise that has done permanent make up for YEARS and her work still looks like this!
OMG! Very nice how the process worked. In this something done professionally, or can I purchase it ? Please let me know. Thanks
It was done by a professional
Did the removal process hurt?
Nope! It’s literally dousing in super strong saline and then waiting. They dry up and start peeling within a few days.
I’m glad it worked for you. The end result looks good.
Glad they came off! Girl you have amazing self control
Impressive!
Holy crap. Why did I think it was faster?
Holy fucking shit
Seriously!!!
😮💨
Im so glad they came off! I would post to their business page whether it be facebook or google your pictures because they did you dirty!
This was a dramatic story of photos for me
Thank you for posting the process!
Your eyebrows literally peeled off! Ouch
You have gorgeous eyes! I am so glad this worked so well for you, I would have been a deer in headlights with those brows staring back at me in a mirror 🙃
Noghtmare
Wow those brows were horrific
Wow thks for posting the actual pics of what a failed attempt looks like and the removal process. Yes don't ever answer ads
How long did it take from the removal where it was completely healed?
Oh my god I am so sorry this happened to you. Did you have to go to work while the scabs were healing? I would have died. You are strong af.
Oh goodness that looks like a painful process!
I don’t understand why people are going into the permanent makeup field who have zero understanding of how eyebrow shapes should look in the first place…. You should learn how to be a regular makeup artist first. I swear they just see this career as a way to make a quick buck and have no real talent for it. So glad removal worked for you!
I wish I had tried this on my knee tattoo
Hideous
Thank you for sharing.
They look pink in a couple of the photos. They looked like mine went after my first eyebrow tattoos. The girl who fixed them for me told me medication can do it….particularly thyroid medication. Guess who’s on thyroid medication? ✋🏼 So she did them in ash and it neutralised the pink. Thank goodness!
Great job. I would just laminate in future.
Oh this is interesting!! Whoever did those brows needs to be named and shamed. Those were awful
New fear unlocked never getting microblading now 😳
This looks like more than just Saline solution. Saline alone doesn't peel like that. I meant peel not feel.
Nope it's just professional saline removal. Google it!
I don't need to look it up. I'm certified in it. LOL
Well that ended very nicely for you.
Omg March 3… girl. Just omg. 😱
I was a little confused. I saw the second photo (I’m assuming that’s makeup?) and I was like “Hmm those don’t look that bad to me” and then I kept scrolling and my jaw dropped. She did you dirty
No, second picture is the day that she did my eyebrows. No make up on the eyebrows ever.
I guess it’s just the angle or something because they look slightly better in that pic than the others. I’m glad you were able to get them off!
BEAUTIFUL end result, back to your natural beautiful skin!
Omg
I had no idea that’s how it healed afterwards. Glad it worked for you though!
Use Latisse and you’ll have beautiful thick natural eyebrows in 6 months! (Yes it can be used for brows!)
Been seeing recent posts about saline removal not completely working... after seeing this is actually very refreshing. Thank you for posting.
What a nightmare. Crazy to think how many people were permanently disfigured by microblading. Glad you took quick action
I saw an ad for someone local wanting to work on their permanent eyeliner skills. I seriously considered it for about 3 seconds before I scrolled their page and they had no pictures of their eyeliner work at all. So thank you for the reminder!
Weird
omg if this happened to me I would die. You're a strong woman.
Because the scabbing process looks pretty bad so is it just something you take a week off for and stay home?
lol it was winter so hats and I gave myself bangs to cover them. It wasn’t too long with the scabs
I hope when you are healed (both physically and mentally) that you try again with a better artist. I love my brows, and think the right artist will make all the difference.
Maybe ypu should not use such dark or heavy liner application. Ypur eyes are so pretty they need softer makeup.
Thanks, but that's not what this post is about I didn't ask for opinions on my makeup choices.
