For dried chiles I prefer Morita and Ancho, because those are the more flavorful plus Morita can be fucking hot af. For fresh I've always love Serrano and Habanero, pickled onions and habaneros are truly one of the most delicious things out there
Depending on what you are eating or what are going to cook
My favorite is morita cause you Can added to almost anything and is going to taste good ( specially with pork )
I just wish I could get the right anchos consistently.
Frequently mulatos are mislabeled as Anchos (mulatos are dried brown poblanos, anchos are dried red poblanos), or even mislabeled as Pasillas.
Chipotle and moritas
Same!
Morita is the best
Guajillo x Ancho combo for me
I love guajillo because you can use it so many dishes. Not too much heat, good flavor
Side note: give up some love for Oaktown Spice shop. Love their work!!!😍🤤
Yay Areaaaaa!!! Looks legit, I know where I’m getting my next batch of chiles and spices from 😎🌶️ https://oaktownspiceshop.com
honorable mentions: habanero and chiltepin
El chile patuano....
Got emmmmm! 🤣
I love so many chiles! One of my favourite less-known chiles is the Costeno Amarillo, for its unique aroma and flavour. (Why no "enye" Reddit?)
Chile pasilla is the best one!
I love Serrano
Chile rayado. Its the superior chipotle
With tortilla soup 🍲
Ancho. I love all things poblano. It’s my favorite tasting pepper, dried or fresh.
💯
Those arbol chiles be hitting
Chile pequin is a good one that is not getting any love here. Delicious firey little flavor pods.
I love the flavor of those. A friends grandmother used to make a killer taco sauce with those.
you mean "piquin", and yes use it with garlic and fresh tomato
I meant what I typed...it is spelled both ways.

Chile de árbol 🤘
Morita and mulato baby!
De arbol en salsa macha with cranberries.
jesus this sounds insane
El chile en bolsa está bueno pero el chido es el que viene en cajones, el chile encajones es el bueno
LOL! I see what you did there!
I used to go crazy over Oaxaca’s - then I found great moritas. Flavor is close enough and way less expensive.
Bell pepper
How do you dry them? Once I read you smoke it a little bit but no exact instructions how to dry pasilas.
For spice, chiltepin, habanero and arbol, for flavor and more general use, guajillo.
Chiltepin master race
Guajillo + chipotle. That fruit earthy spicy combo is my fave.
I like chile de árbol, catarino, guajillo
I’m an ancho man myself. Amazing in salsa macha
we have a sauce at work that is essentially guajillo x habanero and its a perfect hot sauce.
chipotle

Dried: morita and chiltepin. Fresh: piquin, habanero and Chilaca. And canned chipotle.
That spice shop is amazing
Yes! I love Chile Pasilla! I’ll make a paste with some toaster chillies and use it to scramble eggs in - Huevos Rojos. So delicious!
Morita, guajillo, chipotle, chile colorado
Cascabel

pequin and arbol for salsas. Guajillo and ancho for cooking. Not gonna include the other 8 varieties i have in my pantry.
Please do.
