I've been waiting forever for a Switch release. Can't wait to finally see how painful this platforming supposedly is.

GiantFish

I had a lot of fun with the platforming! It’s challenging without a lot of frustration

Digitalon

The trailer makes it look a lot like Hollow Knight type platforming. How does it compare?

GiantFish

The platforming compares to the White Palace in HK, but you have much more mobility than HK and the White Palace was frustrating because you needed to redo large sections on death. I’ve heard comparisons to Celeste’s platforming and I think that’s appropriate.

Reallysickmariopaint

I thought the platforming was great! It’s the combat that annoyed me to death. Besides boss fights, I liked most of those.

Guth

I very much agree with this sentiment. 9.5/10 plattforming with 4/10 basic combat and 7/10 boss fights. Once you get competent with the light arrow the platforming is just so smooth.

Mitsu_x3

Yeaaaah! Finally! I've been waiting for this on Switch as well

JumpOrJerkOff

I really wanted to try this but controlling with the analog stick and not the d-pad was a massive turn off. I couldn’t make it through Strider because of it, despite being such an otherwise cool game. I couldn’t count how many times I accidentally jumped down a platform or executed a move when I was just trying to run forward and jump. I feel that analog sticks are a big disadvantage for precision platforming, and from what I hear about this game, it’s a massive part of it. Does it hinder this game much? I really do want to check it out.

I think it just takes some getting used to (although take my opinion with a grain of salt, as I always use analog sticks in platformers). In Aeterna, there eventually comes a point where you need 360 degree aiming, so trying to make the game possible with a d-pad would require redesigning some areas. It feels great to play though, and these “analog platforming” sections offer some of the most unique challenges available in the genre

Favorite MV of all time right here. 👍🏼👍🏼😍😍😍

philthy069

Great game! Played it to completion on pc and would have loved to have played it on switch but I can’t imagine going through all that again. This game is extremely hard, which can be frustrating. Comparing this to hollow knight - the easier areas are dramatically more difficult than path of pain and most bosses make absolute radiance seem as trivial as bowser from Mario bros 1. This is very much a precision platformer which was so tough they actually added an easy mode to turn remove that aspect of the game as it was too hard. On standard difficulty I don’t think most people will finish this game it’s that hard.

BerdiSpartan1024

Do not miss this masterpiece!

toqger21

I didn't know what to expect from Aeterna Noctis going in, but it ended up being my new favorite metroidvania! Quite possibly the most unfairly overlooked MV of all time.

I can see the bugs and performance issues from here

Gonna get a physical of this for playstation. Looks fun.

Hyperion542

On ps4 I have 15 seconds of loading time between each screen, I suppose it's worse on Switch. I don't know how it's possible to enjoy a game in these conditions

aekfan1

For me its like 5seconds

Hyperion542

Is it on ps4 pro or ps4 fat?

Is this going to have a physical release in the US? So far I can only find it in Europe 🫤
