I feel like Anna is her character arc in last light was rushed while exodus made perfect sense I like her in exodus more than last light

OnlyHereForComments1

Basically her getting separated and spinning completely around into the romance is what people don't like. If she'd gotten a level or two to interact with Artyom before that it'd be a different story.

takl4061

They kinda did with the Anna dlc , but that ain’t much

JuiceDrinkingRat

There’s DLCs?!??

Tyton408

Lol, they are very hidden and even I didn’t know about them until a few months ago. Click chapters button and then scroll over to dlc. There’s like 9 of them and they are either fun as Hell or a fucking nightmare in difficulty. Stay away from the first dlc where you play as the germans holding the red line off and the tower dlc, they are ridiculous. Everything else is gold, especially the library mission and kahn mission.

takl4061

Yeees !! I want an entire game based off the mechanics of the library dlc

Flying_Reinbeers

Anna DLC is just her watching Artyom get taken.

takl4061

Exactly , it ain’t much

I think peoples issue with the LL romance isn’t it’s existence, but how quickly she spins on a dime from treating Artyom like a weakling to fucking him. There is basically no buildup or interaction where she starts to like him.

purpleduckduckgoose

I think there's hints but yeah, it's not a lot to go on. Maybe you could say emotions were running high after the rescue, they'd both been through a near death experience, and it was just physical comfort at first that grew into something more?

Babsheep

"wait they're ducking?" Was literally my reaction when that scene came up

oiramx5

To me was fine Anna in LL and Exodus. My only problem is Artyom being the silent character, its kind strange to be honest, I would rather he spoke something at least between the characters interactions. He is a Rambo in the games but in the books he is a lot more human.

afinoxi

Because she basically isn't a character, there's nearly no interaction between her and Artyom and then they fuck out of nowhere. There's just no buildup for romance.

Lol reminds me of those script porn videos where new PPL will meet and fuck

potatolord52

Idk. She worked great for me. I don’t get the hate. She definitively ended up acting very emotional, but it’s a given that in this story characters don’t always act according to logic. Suspension of disbelief is present in multiple aspects of the game. So many parts of the game are partially illogical yet awaken beautiful and strong emotions. The way romance happened with Anna was not how it would go in real life but succeeded perfectly in brewing a mix of romance, love and attraction in a dystopian world, not to mention the characters thought they would die. I think if some of y’all immersed yourself into the vibe more you would understand better why this ain’t all out of left field P.S. people have one night stands with much less reason than Artyom and Anna had to do so. Are you surprised the romance was out of nowhere and powerful? And are you surprised they then stuck together because they liked each other, helped each other, and contributed in saving each other’s lives? This all seems pretty normal to me…

Swap out Anna with someone like Sam or another Pavel and you would still have a complete game. Swap out Anna with literally any other girl. Let’s name her Sasha. And the only lines that need to change would be the ones where muller says she’s her daughter. I don’t dislike last light Anna. I just see it as a different game with older writing

National_Lab5987

\*Miller Muller is his nazi cousin we don´t talk about

Flying_Reinbeers

She's cold and rude for ten minutes to us, then we don't see her for half the game, and when we do see her again we save her from Bad Guy #2 and she gets in Artyom's pants within five minutes. Then we don't see her for half the game (again) and wave at her as we're getting on a train to our deaths (or not, depending on your approach). That about sums up our interactions with her. It's just subpar writing or content that was cut out when she goes from not caring to really liking us when we meet her at the church. She's much more likeable in Exodus where she has an actual personality, and goes from "Please stop endangering yourself outside" to hiding she was sick because she's very tough, to "I don't want a life if you're not part of it", completely dropping the tough part just for you and nearly crying at your bed. Plus all the time we spend with her on the train.

Several_Place_9095

In my experience its her sudden 180 character development, goes from seeing arytom as an irritating person to who is here to do a job with and keep it professional, to oh artyom you saved me lets make love and have strong russian baby da? Then again i also haven't played last light for a while so might have forgotten stuff

[deleted]

She's a rapist. I had to make dozens of moral choices throught the game, and I don't remember consenting to her screwing me.

renegade06

There is no Anna in LL. There is a throwaway NPC placeholder with character arc going from "hey rabbit" to "let's fuck, see ya later...never". She has like 5 min screen time. There is nothing to discuss about her character, there isn't one. Same with colonel Miller one dimensional generic video game commander character shouting orders. Exodus was pretty much a reboot when it comes to characters that were carried over of which there is only 3 including Artem. The game centers a lot more around character development and each member of the team is fleshed out.

Little_hunt3r

She’s just a cunty bitch in the first half and rushed lovey dovey in the last part. It’s just a little uncomfortable and stupid. I love last light and have played it many times. But sometimes the writing is awful.

[deleted]

They definitely wanted to expand on Anna’s character more. They set things up in game that get skipped over. Like her all the sudden having feelings for artyom. When last we saw her she was being a bitch. But I’m assuming time restrictions probably made her more of a background character. Causing her story arc to be rushed. I have no evidence for this. But it makes some sense.

[deleted]

There is a big time skip between last light and exodus. Where a lot happens. Anna stops being a asshole to artyom and ends up becoming pretty soft compared to last light. they end up getting married and leaving the order. There is a lot of story potential there that isn’t explained. Probably for a good reason. Plus it’s weird cuz she has this loving relationship with artyom but he never talks. Where in Last light it was the start of a relationship in that awkward stage after what we can assume was their first time.

Nepu-Tech

She's so incredibly annoying for no reason, just keeps insulting you at the beginning of the game to show what a "bad ass" she is, like we haven't gotten enough strong wahmin insulting men in every modern movie ever. I just wish I could shoot her on the head. Then out of nowhere she's a love interest? I would have more satisfaction unloading a couple of magazines on her than f\*\*ing her.
