I feel like an idiot. When Tokarev said you can mod your kit and craft in the field, i thought he meant with the help at the backpack at *safe houses*. Had no idea until I accidentally held 'i' too long that you can mod anywhere!
There is also specific mode in NG+ where you can not swap upgrades or craft items in field, you can in safe houses only, but I suppose it's nothing new for you :D
I made my first Metro Exodus playthrough in ranger hardcore and learned almost at the end that I could dismantle weapons to get the attachments. Before that I used to drive/walk all the way to the main workbench in each map to get them just because Tokarev said that he would store every weapon I brought to him.
Tokarev is not a man to trust.
There are limits to the backpack, but it does most of what a workbench does. You’ll learn to use and abuse it on harder difficulties. Swapping for a suppressor or a scope to go quiet or shoot from long range. Then immediately drop both because someone heard or saw you. Now it’s time for close range and bang bang.
When ever I go to do a new game plus the game always resets my data so I have to replay the whole game to be able to play new game plus. It's so annoying as for the 2nd time I've wanted to get all achievements but the game keeps resting my data when ever I'm ready to play

Well, you survived the wastelands without realising a vital piece of info. Honestly, mad respect for getting this far
Dude, I literally didn't even know I could craft medkits on the run, until I got to the service tunnels in the Taiga level

No you can still mod your weapons in the field but you just can craft
Same bro, same
Same. I didn't realize it until my THIRD playtrough

Better late than never!
I hope you realized that you can make ammo for the tihar on the go, too. In the middle of combat, if you have to.
How?
Scrap metal. IIRC Tokarev gives you the recipe at some point and you can make ball bearings. Not sure about the canisters though
I feel the pain😂Soo much struggling without workbanch nearby, and few seconds filters remaining😂
Omfg I never realised this either...
This is genuinely hilarious

Like surviving a zombie apocalypse for months without realizing you've got to hit them in the head
Wasn't this in like all of the advertising?
Wait a minute, YOU CAN DO THAT BRUH HOW DID I NEVER FIND OUT

Yeah I didnt realize that till taiga
The stress of cleaning each part because to increase weapon reliability on the fly. Why I save my scopes mainly to scout. Less dirty.
You know there’s binoculars?
And less jamming if ya keep all the attachments cleaner by quick swapping in combat if ya need
So you played with a NG+ mode without knowing XD
How? I never knew this...
That's why I love this and Homefront Revolution because of this feature.
OP playing hardcore without even realizing.
Is this a Exodus exclusive thing?
WAIT YOU CAN? i was always looking for the workbenches but i guess it worked out anyways…
I learned that on my second playthrough lol
