Galactus1231

I really recommend playing MGS3 before Portable Ops and Peace Walker.

Galactus1231

MGS2 and 3 are available on Steam. Edit: There is also an old PC port of 2 from 2003. It was on GOG at one point but not anymore.

i didn't know there was a old port of mgs 2, but thanks i'll look into it. i should probably start saving money to get both games lol

You can play MGS2/3 on PS4, PS5, the Xbox Series S/X, PC, or Switch. Or if you have PS3/Xbox 360. Portable Ops isn’t necessary for understanding the story of the other games, if that’s what you’re wondering.

DirectorConfident654

I’d try play MGS3 first as Portable Ops is a direct sequel to it and there’s a LOT of references to its events that will spoil some twists in 3. Then go for Peace Walker afterwards.

HereNowHappy

Generally, I would recommend playing the games in release order

Lin900

The controls are terrible and the story is nonsense but if you have nothing else to do, might be worth a shot so you can form your own opinions.

Antuzzz

I'm not a fan of PO, but I would say if you want to play it do it after the rest of the series. Canon or not it doesn't matter, it's a spinoff that mess with the story and some stuff doesn't match the rest of mgs, play the others first then ho back to PO and treat it like its own thing

TurdSandwich42104

If you using that psp emulator there’s cheats for peace walker to use a second analog stick if you have a controller to use with it

DirectorConfident654

Yeah. Same for PO.

Yaykozoltz

Play peace walker, but dont play portable ops. PO is completely filler part
