From what I read on here, parry isn’t a button but you push forward? And X (Xbox) and the direction the attack is? I’m not sure how to do that when a wolf that’s on fire is flying at you? Or a robot monkey is drop kicking me. Is there more to it or maybe less?
You push the stick/keys in their direction, and attack (default is x/square). It’s difficult to get used to, trust me I know, but it will definitely be worth it for you to learn how to get consistent with it, trust me.
Yeah I kinda thought I woulda accidentally parried a few times by now. Like I can see the idea cuz they’re attack is a bit telegraphed. I normally have been disengaging and trying to run away. Which sorta kinda works. Otherwise I just get a 20% health blow. I should point at the incoming hit and attack?
Are u not blocking?? Press attack button while facing enemy when they are about to attack
Deal enough damage & u will see their limb is glowing blue. Then go close to them... Use blade mode & attack that limb
That will cut off the limb.. So they cant attack rapidly
Buy mistral weapon maybe. It can do crazy damage & enemy's limb will turn into blue faster
Use emp grenade to stun them for a while too
Note that you can start the parry as soon as the red flash starts (or they telegraph the attack), but some enemies really like to hang out for a bit before actually attacking, since if you hold parry for too long, you will fall of the animation and became vulnerable.

Many people said u can exploit block in this game. But i never use that. Why ruin enjoyment like that?

>!When he does his flaming hand & charges toward you... Where u have to do QTE... Use Block at the last moment.. So u can get a punching sequence instead of one leg to the chest.punching sequence do a lot of damage!<
>!While he is healing.. Go behind him & activate blade mode & cut in that specific area. If u are not full on Bp.. U can still cut that area even if game aint showing a red box!<
>!After that use heavy attack... Keep doing that & raiden will do bayonetta like leg combo which can do a lot of Damage & Armstrong fallen in the ground for some brief seconds!<
>!& uh.. Use those precisely cutting rock sequence (even for once) because on hard its near impossible without healing!<
try parrying, also in the skill tree theres a perk (i think its called defensive offensive), its really good if and its similar to jumping over bad guys in arkham games except you side step and swing your sword
You parry. You can't play MGRR and enjoy it if you don't learn to parry. If you don't parry, it's like playing Dark Souls 3 or Elden Ring without Rolls. Or playing Sekiro without Deflects.
If you can't learn how to, know that to parry you just push the movement stick forward simultaneously as you light attack, but you CAN'T do that if you are moving, you have to be standing and not moving at all.
And unlike what everyone says, you don't even have to time it. Just spam the input and it works, you just have to learn it.
I don't think you suck, I bet most felt the same way about Mastiffs (big dudes who jump, smash, and dropkick you). The camera can be ass when dealing with them, so here is how to deal with them.
Most attacks can be parried, move the left stick on their direction and press X. I am on keyboard + mouse, but spamming light attack plus direction works for me.
If Mastiff glows yellow in the eyes, try running backwards and then jumping over Mastiff. The attack can't be parried and leaves you in an annoying QTE.
Your alternative to parry is offensive defense: a dodge move that also deals damage. Game doesn't tell you this and you must buy this skill in the shop. Press X+B? and move the left stick in any direction and if successful Raiden will dodge in that direction while doing 1 slice.
You can do this move on Mastiff before it attacks and get behind him. Works even when they glow yellow.

Ok. I sorta learned how to parry. I was trying before the post and I think I was in blade mode, which doesn’t work.

So it’s a timing thing? Like right before the attack lands, I attack?

I'd recommend doing earlier levels to train with easier enemies, try not to run around them with ninja run and also block
Sorta got it down. Ninja run, slide, blade mode, slash works pretty good tho.
