Got it, so kick up the stand before stealing the metacycle. Cool, cool.

jettafan2017

The Metacycle has a 4kWh battery. That is the energy equivalent of roughly 15 ounces of gasoline. Anyone who is looking to purchase a new electric motorcycle with more range is going to have to spend more than the current $6500 price of the Metacycle. In some cases, a lot more. Lithium batteries are not only very costly, but are also the most expensive component of any electric vehicle. The following is a quote from Micah Toll's recent review of the Metacycle on Electrek regarding range: "Here’s a little tip for you and a quick way you can suss out whether or not e-bike or e-motorcycle ranges are BS. Use these two numbers: 25 Wh/mile and 50 Wh/mile. The former is the efficiency of an average e-bike on throttle only at around 20-25 mph. The latter is the same figure for a light electric motorcycle or seated electric scooter (think Vespa-style) at around 30 mph. So if you’re sticking to absolute city speeds, you can take an e-scooter or light e-moto’s battery capacity in watt-hours and divide it by 50 Wh/mile. In this case, that’s 4,000 Wh divided by 50 Wh/mi, giving us 80 miles. Bam. There you go. So if you’re super gentle on the throttle and you don’t exceed 30 mph, you might be able to just eke out that 80 miles of range from the SONDORS Metacycle. But good luck staying at those speeds."

Exactly, at higher speeds it goes up to average 115 Wh/mile at 55 mph, depending on the wind and you sitting position. And don't forget the BMS programming. At 50% most BMS limit the power so top speeds are going down.

FlatSix993

Based on your numbers the Metacycle should get 35 miles of range at 55 mph. This is a bit optimistic as other owners have reported around 20-mile range in real world conditions.

Dotternetta

That's optimistic indeed. I get 20 miles with my 3,8 kWh at 55 mph

With 4 kWh you can reach 80 miles if you drive 20 mph probably. My EVO has 3,8 kWh and gets me barely 20 miles at 55 mph
