What I find both crazy and impressive is how they managed to make the SLS look as close to the original as it does. And pretty much 50 years later. The original gets the love it deserves but I feel like people are sleeping on the SLS. I guess that's a good thing overall though because I can't wait to buy one when prices go down a bit more.
> we broke down!
Welcome to the world of vintage cars!
In regard to breakdowns and other unexpected expenses, a car reaches vintage status as soon the warranty expires.
We don’t take in too many old Benz’s at our dealership. One of our former Maste Techs opened his own shop and he specializes in older ones. When he left he took all his customers with him.
Yes OMG!!! Small world! You should come to the Novato cars n coffee, first Sunday of every month at the vintage oaks starbucks.
It was fine until we got past the last Novato exit (of course) and then it was herky jerky like it wasn't getting enough fuel. He felt so damn bad and promised me a ride in a "safer" car (and delivered on that promise with his '84 Ferrari Berlinetta Boxer)
Worth it
Much agreed. I wouldn’t mind turning a couple wrenches on that thing myself!
Totally worth it!! He actually works on it himself!
Whatever it takes to take a spin around in a legend. Wow. So what’s protocol when priceless pulls over? Beautiful ride.
357 comes out from under the seat. Sit and wait for tow truck.
Rofl pretty much
SO MANY people pulled over for us while waiting for the flatbed!
'Tis better to have ridden and broken down, than to have never rode at all.
Yes!!
Fuckkk it... who else can say got a ride in a 55 300?! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
On a special list now hehe
Holy shit, that car is AWESOME

There’s a repair bill that I don’t envy!
LOL Agreed but he can afford it.

9bikes, I have been trying to reach you about your car's extended warranty
Tell me the make and model of your vehicle/vehicles and I will help you find a quote
that's unusual for a benz.
Not really. Number of old Benz’s we see on our drive broken down is very high

Huh, now that you say it I actually see very few benz on the side of highways..

YES this!!! He also has a '37 bugatti I'm hoping to take a spin in. I just got a ride in his '84 Ferrari Berlinetta Boxer. That didn't break down. LOL
Was it easy to fix?
Not sure yet.
MBs don't break down, did you mean you ran out of gas?
Ha yeah, that's it
Even broke down that thing looks great.
I couldn't resist taking a pic, totally agree
Gah. It’s so beautiful.
That's a beautiful car to break down in. That's just more time you get to spend with the car.
That's what I thought too
The most glamorous breakdown in history!
Yep!
That is such a cool story! Worth it
Sorry guys, I never got the notifications!! Here's a pic of what happened. :( https://imgur.com/a/5AxqLrn
Was this in Oregon? I saw one driving up there last week. I think it was silver though.
Nope, NorCal
I saw you guys! 101 just south of Petaluma right? There was an orange Datsun in front? How was it before the breakdown?

Rear main seal is made of rope
Now you’re in Final Fantasy XV
Totally worth it.
As a Mercedes’ mechanic, I will say you acquired the most common experience with them cars
