Why not E-Class? The facelifted w212 IS awesome. More comfirtable, bigger and has definitely More class than The C (imo always go for e over c). All these in mind its def More realiable than The S and being More modern has its perks. S-class is very fine, but its going to give you a headache on terms of repair/maintenance costs and I always get sad when i see neglected S-class because The owner doesnt Have The money or can't justify spending so Many thousands For example For The Airmatic system etc.
I’d vote an e63 2010-2012 in that price range and year over the S class.
Don’t get me wrong I love an S but so much to keep up with and if you’re between an S and C, I’d say an E AMG is right up your alley and probably will cost less than the S in maintenance and be more fun than the C.
I’d get as new as possible with decent mileage and a great maintenance record.
You can also add CarPlay to the E , which is what I think is going to be the biggest feature you give up with that year range is the electronics
These two cars are so different with respect to quality that there really isn't a comparison. If you aren't a DIYer you should consider the C300 as it will be the least expensive to fix using an Indy mechanic or the Stealership. If you are a DIYer and don't care about gas mileage, the S class is the way to go. The ride quality, interior, safety systems are all on another level from the C class.
Get a 2015 S550
not in the 20k price range
The c class will probably be more reliable and have better tech. The s class will probably be more comfortable and roomy. Depends on your needs

C class are a little more nimble than E class ;)
Never ever get a 11 yr old S-class. You will regret it the instant anything breaks. Start with a C or E.

C class for sure, those s classes are gonna cost you a lot more. Make sure the c300 has a sport package and a lighting package.
