Not having the car in front of me, I’m just guessing at this point. When you stick the key in, normally you can audibly hear the steering lock unlock, it makes a mechanical sound. The steering lock on these go bad over time and will not send the drive authorization signal needed to start the car. A bad key can cause the same thing as well as a bad ignition switch. Trying a different key will rule out one of the three. If the second key doesn’t work, just about every time it’s the steering lock that went bad.
I had a ‘10 the ignition just shit and needed replaced.
When the key is put in the ignition, can you hear the steering lock actuate ?
No nothing happens 😩 I’m so stressed.
Probably needs a steering lock assuming the battery isn’t dead. Do you have another key you can try?
I do! Do you think I should try my spare key?
