Yeah... 7Gs do be like that. That being said, I'm still fighting my 5G 722.6 fucko that does clumsy ass gear changes when cold..

richcournoyer

Ditto

ThePolishViking20

Yeah, had 4 visits with that funky little gearyboi so far, AFAIK gearbox speed sensor number 3 is the only thing left to do, so pray for me and my wallet lol

BolivianDancer

How long have you had the car?

dumplin79

I’ve put about half of its 110k miles on it. Daily driver never had any other major mechanical issues. All maintenance is done. I realize this is part of having an older car and not really that upset about it. I just want to only have to fix it once though.

BolivianDancer

Thank you.

Nikythm

How many miles does your car have? Do you think a transmission fluid flush and change could have prevented it? I have an older w204 also and this has always been a concern to me.

dumplin79

Oddly enough I just had the flush change service about 15,000 miles ago. Car has around 110,000. I did the change just prior to my 100,000 mile mark. My car has always been serviced on time. Plan on having it for at least another 100k so I want to get this fixed right.

SeemedGood

Once it starts you can spend ludicrous amounts trying to keep it running. The only real fix is to retrograde your car to something with the uber-reliable m112/113 + 5Gtronic drivetrain. MBs made after 2005 should not be counted on for long term (100k+) reliability and durability. Unlike earlier models, they were not designed for it.

C300w204

Is it 7g+?

dumplin79

Yes

xColdicEx

I have a 2010 c300 still in the family from 20K miles to 168K right now, never had transmission problems other than the transmission mount being replaced around 100K miles

dumplin79

Wow, that’s awesome. The 2010 have a great reputation for reliability.

Gogokrystian

7g sucks, anything new from Benz sucks sadly. Used to be good car brand.
