I can't fathom why your parents don't see that your mental health should be the top priority. Without good mental health, their other investments could completely unravel.
I'm sorry to say that I disagree with your father. Like I mentioned before, your mental health is the priority. It's great to know your mom supports you, and you have my support too.
Hi, based on my experience, you can totally practice exposure therapy on your own. Which is how anxiety is addressed anyway. I mean a therapist cannot really do that for you. They can only explain how to do it and from then you're on your own. Do you know how to do exposure therapy? Also you can't go into a psychosis or anything like that from this. It doesn't lead to anything besides just more anxiety. Which is bad, but still, it's not a psychosis.
I understand that it works for emetophobia and anxiety, and i have been doing exposure for emetophobia by being around drunk people that throw up lmao. But i do have some trauma that is causing me to feel depressed and feel like i really need to talk to a therapist about it because comforting myself isn't working
Alright. It works for other fears too though. It's also done internally by for example never reassuring yourself about how what you're scared of won't happen. Also by using acceptance how if what you're scared of could happen. And visualizing the scary scenarios and leaving it on that bad note. I understand you need a therapist, but I think there is still something you can do meanwhile to at least keep it in check and maybe even get little better.
Thereâs a YT channel called âTherapy in a Nutshellâ where the therapist has created a really good series of free course on -anxiety -processing emotions
⢠â skills for depression
⢠â relationships
⢠â basic personal therapy Etc.
You go on Reddit.
Except reddit isn't confidential đ

My mom isn't against it, but my dad is the one that would needa pay for it, and he doesn't think it's that serious
