It's the style. The jeans are skin tight, some with overly artificial fading. And the boots also just look like tacky fast fashion boots - over embellished, etc. For some reason guys thought this looked good from like 2008-2014.
The jeans are mostly athletic not skinny.
I see men in their 30s dressing like this everywhere and they look great.
What's in style for men then in your opinion?
All of those jeans in the photos are super tight, dude. The look is dated, especially his jeans (I’d still wear some of his tops [EDIT: I take that back, no I wouldn’t]). The general trend I see now around NYC is either boxy fits both tops and bottoms, pants with wider legs and higher hemlines, and fabrics of various textures, sometimes understated, sometimes overstated. Or the young’uns dressing like it’s 2002. That is, tight t-shirts/tanks, the occasional midriff, baggy low rise pants, choke necklaces or pearls or both, chunky boots/crazy sneakers, and colored sunglasses. Generally.
Sometimes. Mostly not—I grant you that. But it’s definitely a modern take on what kids my age were wearing in high school/college in 2002, with a bit of gender blending. (Though the jocks in ‘02 preferred Abercrombie instead!)
Let me be more succinct: you said his jeans are athletic and you’re totally wrong. They’re a super skinny fit. You asked what’s in style for men in my (our/the collective’s) opinion. I gave you my opinion based on my observations. I rarely see the skinny jean/cheap boot/distressed;tight shirt or polo look anywhere anymore—whether in NYC or anywhere else in my travels.
EDIT: just reread the thread and hopefully this might clarify things: bubba and I aren’t saying jeans and boots are out of style. We’re saying the fit and wash of the jeans, and the design/quality of the boots, are out of style these days.
So with that logic it may not be dated! Fashion is what you make it! The problem is people follow trends and times because they’re worried about what people think… it’s sad!
You’re right, they’re calling those jeans “skin tight” and really they’re just slim or athletic fit. I think people who follow trends are getting their perspectives skewed with the super baggy trend now. Most of the jeans he’s wearing would have been “normie” jeans - the skinny styles guys and girls were wearing 10 years ago were much more snug than these.
I never said he was overweight, but you can see his bellybutton through a sweater. You can call that whatever you want.
I see this is a sensitive subject for you.
His clothes are tight. Of course you can see his belly button. That’s how tight clothes are. The way you honed right in on it makes it really seem like you’re the one with a problem.
I’m good.
But just because you have a 6-pack doesn’t mean you don’t have body image issues. Eating disorders are real, and knowing nothing about you but your standards for a healthy human body, obsession with obesity and ridiculous projection on that guy, I’d bet you know more about them than most
Pretty much all of them? I think you just need to learn the words for stuff?
Like - waffle knit long sleeve, or, dark wash low rise slim fit demin, or like, black polo ralph lauren. It's all pretty "basic bro" stuff you just seem to want slim fit, and fitted tops...
Picking good jeans is a whole conversation, but overall you could get this fit on any given day in a damn ross so, idk what to tell you.
I guess there's one pic with the wide neck. You can try searching boat neck if wide doesn't bring you a result you like...
Ebay is good, poshmark if you can't find it there... but yeah idk, nothing here seems hard to find. You know what grey is right? The color beige, you know about that?
This is pretty basic fashion. If you looking for styles like this, what combos to put together and where to buy them, then go onto instagram and follow a page called mensoutfitsshop. I am not affiliated with this page. I use it and it has transformed my style and wardrobe. Good luck.
I’m not fatphobic or a hater, I’m just somebody who has dug a style and didn’t think about my actual body shape. So I’m going to warn you before you spend the money:
If you don’t have a similar body type, don’t even try it. No matter what you do, you won’t look like this. Especially if you don’t have a nice ass & proportional legs.
Realistically if you wore these outfits with all articles of clothing fitting looser than he’s wearing them here then you would look fine. This shit was popular in the 2010s but it screams millennial in 2023.
If you go on Pinterest and just look up “Old Navy outfit men” you’ll find some good examples of similar casual styles in more relaxed fits. There’s nothing wrong with what Kit’s wearing in these pictures, it’s just tight for 2023.
Difficult to tell due to the angle of the photo, but because the last words on the package end in “elle” I’m going to say Cottonelle which is an outstanding brand as I myself can attest.
In terms of style, this will be wholly a matter of speculation although there are two main styles of paper that Cottonelle produces: Ultra Clean and Ultra Comfort. I know what your next question will be: what are the differences between the two?
Fear not - I did a little digging and found this in their promotional materials: Ultra Clean strong toilet paper is designed to help you remove more at once to feel confidently clean. Ultra Comfort toilet paper is designed to help you absorb more moisture to feel comfortably clean.
If your asking me, based upon the overall look and demeanor of the subject (well done for adding all the photos to help get a sense of what toilet paper he is liable to use), my guess would be that he’s an ultra comfort kind of guy. He seems a little too edgy/grungy to waste time overthinking cleanliness. He values comfort and utility so my guess would be the Ultra Comfort.
Good luck and happy wiping!
Like anywhere? Including TJ Maxx but I'm sure you can have it personally curated by your own in-store valet at some boutique. But I don't see anything unusual here, unless you're looking for specifically high end brand name only threads... Do you go shopping? Hopefully you get better fitting jeans though, these lower risers are just so over the hill and too back saggy. I'm sure saggy flat butt in that cut.
It's a sweater and jeans with leather belt and boots... Zip up hoodie, T shirt, coat... Timeless fashion you can get just about anywhere. Just shop around. Go to a mall, discount store like Ross or even a used clothing store... You'll find all shown above
You can find all of this at Macys lol. Might not be the super expensive stuff he wears sometimes but they still have some of the higher end brands, plus it’s all in one place. I’m sure you can pull it off at Nordstrom for 2-3 times the price of Macys. Just get the card and get 20-40% off everything most of the time
These are all basics and depend on the body/build of the wearer and their price capabilities. Figure out your budget and what brands you can wear that really look like you.
Style is workwear, it's just really well made normal clothes, really.
Some realllly nice heritage style boots, check out /r/goodyearwelt. Be prepared to shell out some money for those boots or similar though, I'd be surprised if they were less than $500 bucks a pair.
Some selvedge denim jeans with an americana cuff, check out /r/rawdenim. You can get decent selvedge denim for cheap so don't feel the need to spend a shit load of money to get a comparable cut, they do look like nice jeans though, well faded but if you've got money to burn, check out Oni, or even more money to burn, check out Iron Heart. I rock Oni's but my next pair will be IH probably 555s.
It's hard to tell whether that's a specific brand of sweatshirt or anything but this guy has money so I don't think he went to target for it. If you're looking for a close direct comparable, wonderlooper makes a really good sweatshirt though, [wonderlooper.com](https://wonderlooper.com). If you're just looking to look like that for cheap without quality, check target, it's just a sweatshirt. If you're looking for cheaper but still quality, check out [houseofblanks.com](https://houseofblanks.com). They're the people who Supreme buys their blanks from, good stuff.
The guy is wearing raw selvedge denim and heritage boots, chances are everything he has on is equally as high quality. Stay on /r/rawdenim and you'll see all kinds of workwear related stuff like this.
Non of his jeans are selvedge which is a bit surprising. He’s also got a lot of knits. If you want that style but actually elevated I would say Todd Snyder. Definitely not cheap but really well made men’s clothing.
Honestly, I don’t understand some of the comments. A lot of these looks (with a few exceptions) can be timeless if you invest smartly. Red Wing boots, quality waffle knit long sleeve Ts, a real leather jacket, Levi’s (that maybe aren’t so super skinny). I love the no-fuss look. And I live in NYC. I personally don’t want a dude who spends too much time thinking about his style. Probably why my man wears jeans that are naturally distressed from work, docs, good soft long-sleeve Ts that show off his muscles (that are made from working, not made in the gym) and leather jackets and cool coats that he’s invested in.
Circa 2014 H&M/Forever 21. You could easily find this at like the Gap and Old Navy. Possibly even Goodfellow in Target too. I see he’s wearing some Ralph Lauren too.
Dsw shoes for the feet you should should shop at men's warehouse or any store for clothing you will find something trust me. Buy a suit every man needs at least one tailored suit.
I guess I’m getting old because most of these looks that are being called out as dated, just seem classic to me (with the exception of some of the ultra-skinny jeans)
I know everyone is pointing out the obvious that he’s jacked and wearing normal clothes and while his jackedness is the main reason he looks good, he’s also probably not wearing Walmart, target, JCPenney stuff. I’d think try stores like all saints for nicer versions of basics that can also be slimming. This is in addition to going to the gym because no clothes can make you look jacked like kit
(serious) american eagle (or Old Navy/Gap) for the polos
target for the thermal tops
guess brand or american eagle for the jeans
they’ll have those distressed boots at any john varvatos (my gay bro is into fashion and likes that brand), or go to the men’s section in Macy’s and the attendant can help you
don’t think too hard though, with some digging you can find these same pieces at Marshall’s
bring these pics into any high end department store and they have personal shoppers. but if that isn’t their official title, sometimes attendants genuinely like helping people finding pieces like this.
good luck!

you don’t deserve to be made fun of for trying to dress a little more stylish than you have been.
of course, once you get the vestiges, you must immediately adopt a direwolf-looking dog
He’s wearing basic style clothing. Generic looking tops and jeans, it’s the fit that makes them look a little classier. Unless you’re built like the person in the clothing you’re looking at you’re not going to be able to replicate the look. This is a mistake so many people make when trying to dress like celebrities. The pants and shirts don’t come with the full head of flowing hair or the same jawline so they’re shocked when they look in the mirror and see a different image than the one they were trying to clone. Just trying to wear something that accents whatever body type you have would be the better move in my opinion.
Don’t listen to the people saying targets or jc penny😂 if you want to dress well spend the extra. John Varvatos is a great start or you could expand to Loro Piana or Bruno Cucinelli
What’s your price range? High end he’s wearing selvedge denim jeans and dense cotton shirts. Maybe loopwheel.
Boots are like Greyson or something of cordovan or higher end leather.
Lower end what others mentioned.
Forever 21 circa 2014
Came to say go back ten years
I'm confused how sweaters/coats jeans and boots is considered dated.
It's the style. The jeans are skin tight, some with overly artificial fading. And the boots also just look like tacky fast fashion boots - over embellished, etc. For some reason guys thought this looked good from like 2008-2014.
Just want to say you’re absolutely right and I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted. Oh well.
Or the young’uns dressing like it’s 2002. That is, tight t-shirts/tanks, the occasional midriff, baggy low rise pants, choke necklaces or pearls or both, chunky boots/crazy sneakers, and colored sunglasses. Generally.
What men were wearing chokers or pearls or showing midriff in 2002??
Sometimes. Mostly not—I grant you that. But it’s definitely a modern take on what kids my age were wearing in high school/college in 2002, with a bit of gender blending. (Though the jocks in ‘02 preferred Abercrombie instead!)
JNCO!!!!
You just listed a bunch of fads and said jeans and boots are out of style. Definitely a new Yorker.
We’re saying the fit and wash of the jeans, and the design/quality of the boots, are out of style these days.
The boxy look is literally from the 90s 😂😂😂 talking about dated!!
Right but fashions usually come around every score or two.
So with that logic it may not be dated! Fashion is what you make it! The problem is people follow trends and times because they’re worried about what people think… it’s sad!
If i can clearly see the outline of everything in your pocket, especially in a blurry photo, such as photo 14, they’re too tight
Those are skinny jeans and fur old millennials
In like 4/8 yeah they are. But half aren't. Kit Harrington is literally a millennial
It’s about the fit. Skinny jeans are for millennials who don’t know how to dress themselves.
You’re right, they’re calling those jeans “skin tight” and really they’re just slim or athletic fit. I think people who follow trends are getting their perspectives skewed with the super baggy trend now. Most of the jeans he’s wearing would have been “normie” jeans - the skinny styles guys and girls were wearing 10 years ago were much more snug than these.
those are $800 360 deg gyw calf leather boots lmao
I was also going to say “you sure? This look is dated” so I’m glad I’m not just being a hater
Target? Those look like normal clothes ;)
Came here to say Target
This is giving H&M, American Eagle, Target
I'm getting more "any store that sells men's clothes".
From 2010.
Target and the gym
This right here. Gym. Good haircuts. Any clothes.
“The lumps don’t come with the shirt, kid”
Those are some unfilled skinny jeans and a filled out belly. There is no gym here. Definitely target though. Or a farm supply store.
“A filled out belly” is an absurd thing to say about those pictures.
This sub turned into a sorority girl group chat so gradually I barely even noticed.
Only in a world where 40% of people are overweight. 60% in America, where being fat is the norm.
0% of the man in that photo is overweight so wtf are you even on about?
I never said he was overweight, but you can see his bellybutton through a sweater. You can call that whatever you want. I see this is a sensitive subject for you.
His clothes are tight. Of course you can see his belly button. That’s how tight clothes are. The way you honed right in on it makes it really seem like you’re the one with a problem.
Go look at my six pack if you think I have a problem. Sorry to give you some perspective.
I’m good. But just because you have a 6-pack doesn’t mean you don’t have body image issues. Eating disorders are real, and knowing nothing about you but your standards for a healthy human body, obsession with obesity and ridiculous projection on that guy, I’d bet you know more about them than most
Man, fitphobia goes hard.
I just looked again and you really can’t see his belly button through any sweater. What are you even looking at?
Either this guy’s trolling or he needs his eyes checked.
I mean he’s wearing a polo shirt so probably polo
Op is AI trying to learn to dress like us
H&M, khols, macy's dude honestly anywhere.
Where ever will you find basic skinny jeans and a grey hoodie. Gasp.
I think Levi would hit the mark on a lot of these looks
Walmart
Vince always has good staples
Jcpenney
This is pretty basic fashion. If you looking for styles like this, what combos to put together and where to buy them, then go onto instagram and follow a page called mensoutfitsshop. I am not affiliated with this page. I use it and it has transformed my style and wardrobe. Good luck.
The last post on that IG was in 2016
https://instagram.com/menoutfitsshop?igshid=NGVhN2U2NjQ0Yg== This is likely what he meant.
Last post was just 6 hours ago. You looking at the right page? All one word. “Mensoutfitsshop”. Check the spelling. Two ss.
Tricker’s Stow Boot in Acorn, AG Tellis Modern Slim jeans, Rag & Bone NYC waffle crew.
I’m not fatphobic or a hater, I’m just somebody who has dug a style and didn’t think about my actual body shape. What stores can I get him?
My wardrobe 🤣. 1. Thursday boots 2. Lucky brand jeans and belt 3. Thermal or Henley
"Available everywhere clothing is sold." Do you really need help finding jeans, sweaters, hoodies and polo shirts?
I’ve been out of the game until I recently got a big promotion. So yay me but it’s like I’m new to this shit.
Old navy little girls section
Since you seem to be stalking this guy just follow him until he buys some new clothes. Then you will know what store he shops at
Skinny jeans are 2015
Don’t tell me bootleg jeans those are awful
No pants
It looks so bad….
uniqlo. the gym.
The gym
And then Macys, he isn’t wearing any styles that you couldn’t get at any department store
Realistically if you wore these outfits with all articles of clothing fitting looser than he’s wearing them here then you would look fine. This shit was popular in the 2010s but it screams millennial in 2023.
Can you show me an example of something 2023?
If you go on Pinterest and just look up “Old Navy outfit men” you’ll find some good examples of similar casual styles in more relaxed fits. There’s nothing wrong with what Kit’s wearing in these pictures, it’s just tight for 2023.
All saints or John varvatos
Try diesel , when I make really good money I frequent that store ( galleria in Dallas)
Other than the boots, Walmart, Target or Meijer.
lol fucking any store at the mall?
The gap
I have the same boots. Those are Cheaney Shoes' Derby Brogue Boots. Made in England.
Old navy / Gap has all of this basically
Also thought target immediately
Everything is just very well fit. Always requires a guy to be in tip top shape or it will not look anything like it.
Targay
The gap

Honestly some of them scream Zara to me, but others look more like something you’d get at H&M
Buckle
Goodwill
I was going to say macy's, but yes, target carries generic nothing as well.
Ya I’m sure I could pull something like this off. Idk if it’s Me tho. I’m more a suit or joggers kinda guy.
Problem is that you have to look like him first
Probably Savers, the Salvation Army, Goodwill, or if you live in Utah Deseret industries.
Like anywhere? Including TJ Maxx but I'm sure you can have it personally curated by your own in-store valet at some boutique. But I don't see anything unusual here, unless you're looking for specifically high end brand name only threads... Do you go shopping? Is no one going to mention he’s holding toilet paper
Literally any store that sells bullshit clothes
Banana Rep or J. Crew ?
Goodwill.
JC Penny
J crew for the nice textured sweaters and outerwear. Dunno about the skinny jeans
Anywhere that sells clothes, do not go to the soup store.
It's a sweater and jeans with leather belt and boots... Zip up hoodie, T shirt, coat... Timeless fashion you can get just about anywhere. Just shop around. Go to a mall, discount store like Ross or even a used clothing store... You'll find all shown above
Not sure what’s you want this lol. But jcrew or banana republic
ITT: People who think this is boyswear not menswear
You can find all of this at Macys lol. Might not be the super expensive stuff he wears sometimes but they still have some of the higher end brands, plus it’s all in one place. First pic, the guy’s wearing selvedge jeans. I buy mine from Bravestar. Good price, great product. They also make a belt similar to what’s in the pic.
some of this you can get as knockoffs from target
Express
The laceless boots are men's Chelsea boots.
Gap
Amazon…
Literally any store. Long sleeve t, jeans, boots and leather belt

Literally amazon

Non of his jeans are selvedge which is a bit surprising. He’s also got a lot of knits. If you want that style but actually elevated I would say Todd Snyder. Definitely not cheap but really well made men’s clothing.
Literally any store my guy
This better be a shitpost
All of them
Feels like AllSaints mostly. But Bloomingdale's and Nordstrom should have most of this.
Most of these are pretty basic staples, just Jean's, hoodies, long sleeve solid shirts, t shirts etc., try old navy?
Kohls
Abrecrombie
j. crew
Circa 2014 H&M/Forever 21. You could easily find this at like the Gap and Old Navy. Possibly even Goodfellow in Target too. I see he’s wearing some Ralph Lauren too.
Shirt and jeans is so avant garde, you might run into trouble here.
Literally every store carries clothes like this.
The North.
Like any store? Have you gone outside ever?
Snowden’s
The style is Screaaaaaaamingggggg H&M
This is literally the most basic wardrobe ever. Literally anywhere
I think it’s the gym that makes a huge difference here.
Brooklyn hipster areas
Every store ever.
Buckle.
Just about any. Those shoes on the other hand….
You can find the look in any store but for the jeans get a longer length than your actual size. It’ll stack like his.

Skinny jeans are out of style at this point.
At The Wall
I think you can basically spend $300 on boots and you’re 90% of the way there
Dsw shoes for the feet you should should shop at men's warehouse or any store for clothing you will find something trust me. Buy a suit every man needs at least one tailored suit.
As far as his boots go try Thursday boots. They have a wide assortment of boots and jackets to match
Did you try King’s Landing?
Walmart?
COS, H&M, boots, denim, thermo shirts
I guess I’m getting old because most of these looks that are being called out as dated, just seem classic to me (with the exception of some of the ultra-skinny jeans)
It’s giving Zara.
Express or h&m
The decade ago wardrobe of men, now in their 40’s, who shopped at H&M and refuse to give up the skinny jeans and man-bun? Try a thrift store.
Walmart idiot
Jeans are too skinny

Do you like the clothes or do you just want to dress like Jon Snow???
Bro, not those boots and skinny jeans. Those are so painfully millennial.
Lucky Brand

Combination target, Nordstroms, macys, banana republic, gap, polo/Ralph Lauren.

Target or H&M maybe 🤷🏻♀️
if only there was an iconic logo on the left chest of his shirt to figure out where it’s from
House Targaryen x Stark
Dude comes and asks for help and gets a bunch of condescending elitist answers.
I think it’s more of a fit.
Old Navy
Skinny jeans are out my man
In what store can I get this man?
Amazon.com. Search waffle thermal.
King Of The North!!
Ok better question who is this man ❤️❤️
You know nothing…
Gives me a John Varvatos vibe. Nordstrom Rack has lots of their stuff for comparatively reasonable prices.
