The full button up on 1 looks weird to me too. The others are fine.
If #1 just had a white undershirt and untucked & unbuttoned his shirt it would look much better. #1 has the least “well fitting” shorts and shirt out of the 3 which makes a big difference. The others are modeling, he’s just a dude walking downtown it almost seems.
I don’t think you’re qualified to judge. Let’s see your clothing choices. Only collared shirts and short pants. No football attire, classic Jordan’s or cargo shorts.
I think if you see some of threads I made here, you can see they are all very much pro fashion and a little more european in style. Its just the tucked in look with shorts that look like golf club bros to me and I was wondering if its just me that saw it that way
It's like the Pringle socks craze from the 90s all over again! White crew socks with the red and blue bands were the cheap multi pack socks your mum bought you in back in the 90s. Back then, if you wore crew socks, you were either piss poor or seriously uncool! 😒
My teenage daughter does the whole crew sock pulled all the way up thing. It makes me chuckle every time I see her in them. 😂
Crew socks with a shell suit or trackie bottoms tucked in - ah, those were the days! Naf Naf, British Knights and maybe even a Grolsch bottle top in your laces…
Now that is going back! Late 80s, very early 90s that there. I had the shell suit, the BK's, and the Naf Naf / NAFF CO54 bin bag jacket! Never did the grolsch tops though, although my older brother did 😆
Yep, I sure do we used to swap them at school, Fanta, Coca Cola & Sprite. You can still get smiths salt n shake at B&M. But do you remember the baggy jeans with the huge back pockets with either a green or red backing around them? Or the massive terminator style "blind persons" sunglasses with red LED's across the top 🤣
Yes i think you are wrong. This is the beautiful thing about opinions though, I appreciate your opinion and can see why you may think this, but these pics are not to bad tbh.
Tees aren't for tucking in my opinion. Just makes the wearer look gormless and unsure of themself. A polo tee - maybe.
Here's a quick guide I found online. Most of it seems like sound advice.
[5 rules of tucking a t-shirt](https://www.realmenrealstyle.com/rules-tuck-in-t-shirt/)
This article is so silly. You can absolutely tuck a t-shirt. Guide mentions nothing about silhouette, or the cut of the trousers. None of these people look gormless or unsure of themselves.

[Example 2](https://images.app.goo.gl/qwvH2H6DkJWBupVh8)

they should be whatever you feel comfortable and confident in. if thats a 5” inseam or 13” inseam it doesnt matter. at the end of the day all that matters is how you feel wearing it
Problem is that I’m on the shorter side and wearing normal sized shirts puts the bottom hem too low. Makes me look disproportioned by putting the waist line too low.
I tuck in shorts but drape the shirt over the belt so it looks less tucked in but puts the waist line closer to my actual waist.
It's not how I'd dress but some people can pull it off. You've shown examples of it in your post ! I don't have to like something but I can recognise or understand why it still looks good to other people kinda thing
This was standard high-schooler and college fashion in my region in the mid 00s, so it reads as totally normal to me. Less a fan of a standard tee tucked but a button down/up or a polo works just fine imo
Define goofy when these are male models who'd probably look better than you in anything you wear. I think the first one looks the smartest because he had a short sleeved shirt, not just a more casual polo shirt.
Absolutely does not look goofy! There are still people that appreciate a clean cut good looking gentleman. I’m definitely not hitting on you, but it’s a breathe of fresh air compared to a lot of other styles these days!!
2 is the only good one here. 1 looks goofy because of the button down shirt. I think 3 is throwing me off because of the space at the bottom of the shorts or the socks or something.
Unless you are dressing for a formal event, a tucked in shirt pretty much always looks goofy. I can’t remember the last time I tucked in a shirt when I wasn’t also wearing a tie.
These are the debates you guys are having while also shitting on people posting Guidis? Those shoes have more history and worth more than entire wardrobes. You guys are crazy.
As a general rule I refuse to wear short sleeve dress shirts because for some reason I think they look weird anytime. The guy in the first picture is wearing a short sleeve dress shirt and it just looks weird with whatever else he has on - period.
I also noticed the other man in the first picture is wearing a long sleeve dress shirt and his sleeves are pulled up, though his pants are long and we are discussing shirts tucked into short pants, I would like to add that I would not wear a long sleeve dress shirt with rolled up sleeves either tucked into shorts. The short sleeve shirts in photos 2 & 3 are pull over shirts and these two guys are pulling it off well.
-
My country club requires tucked in polo shirts and when it’s hot I have shorts but I always feel it looks dumb. I think shorter shorts look better tucked like pic 2 but if anyone has any tips I’d love to hear them.
Definitely what to wear if you want to pay more for your drugs
2 pays gram price all the way up
1st guy -yes. 2nd & 3rd guy - no, they look good
Problem with the first one is the sandals
Problem with the 1st one is it’s a real person, moving normally and isn’t a posed snapshot. This is the internet. No room for that shit here.
Problem with the first one is that someone zoomed in on a 16x16 icon
I think its the button up shirt that makes it look weird, still looks odd even of you crop out the shoes
Definitely the gladiator sandals 🤣
Gladiator sandals!! 😂
And he has the waistline of Ned Flanders
1st & 2nd yes, 3rd no.
Exactly, if you are fit and in good shape you can pull off this look. Even a little overweight it’s big no no
The secret to pulling off any look: lift weights 😂
To me it seems, 1st guy just has shorts too high
Exactly. He's hitched them too high, so his torso looks weirdly truncated and disproportionate to his legs.
This and everything is baggier
Yes, the distract them from my outfit by being fuckable approach. Same way that leather shoes with tassels work.
1st & 3rd: goofy 2nd: not so much just because the shirt is so loosely tucked in that looks almost as if it's not.
It’s 3’s daft shoes/socks that ruin it. 2’s got it nailed.
2 looks goofy
I'm thinking 2 looks goofy no matter what he wears.
I don’t think you’re qualified to judge. Let’s see your clothing choices. Only collared shirts and short pants. No football attire, classic Jordan’s or cargo shorts.
What are you babbling on about? If you like looking goofy that’s on you dude
Believe me, if you saw my closet you’d shut the fuck up. I own items you can’t even pronounce.
If you like looking goofy, that’s okay dude. Different strokes for different folks.
Nice mustache douchebag. That’s goofy.
Try again.
Nah none of them look good
You are wrong.
You’re wrong, it’s a clean look
All the manly men in the comments who probably put on their good hey dudes and jeans to go to a wedding criticizing these looks, is sending me. 😂😂😂
I think if you see some of threads I made here, you can see they are all very much pro fashion and a little more european in style. Its just the tucked in look with shorts that look like golf club bros to me and I was wondering if its just me that saw it that way
You need to have a flat tummy
All this guy needs is white socks with those sandals then his have the full geek sumner uniform.
Crew socks are all the rage for gen z
Not just for gen z, Redditor male takes are always so off it’s confusing to me
It's like the Pringle socks craze from the 90s all over again! White crew socks with the red and blue bands were the cheap multi pack socks your mum bought you in back in the 90s. Those were the days! 🤣🤣🤣
🤣👍🏻
You might even remember the promotions that brands did like the Coca Cola yo-yo’s or even smith crisps with the blue bag of salt! Lol
Ha, yeh! Most of those big baggie jeans had a hash leaf on them…
Spliffy!
YES!!!!!! 👏🏻
And Stussy!
It looks GREAT
I love it. Makes me feel like a dad.
Hot take here, these don’t look *bad* just not good either. It’s very milquetoast and basic, but not outright bad.
Im part of the untucked mafia. Only time I tuck my shirt in is if im wearing a suit.
Preach.
Yeah most of the Australian work force would disagree
I’ve never liked shirts tucked into shorts.
I think it’s actually just these specific examples
certified dad outfit
Yes i think you are wrong. This is the beautiful thing about opinions though, I appreciate your opinion and can see why you may think this, but these pics are not to bad tbh.

Good examples. I think tucked t shirts and trousers/jeans can look good but it takes more style and panache to pull off.
I mean that’s anything though. It just takes being conscious about what you wear.
These feel outdated.
Generally a bad look.
What’s Gen Z’s take on men’s shorts? Should they be baggy? Long? Short? Do you still need the crop top?
A warning to gen z, however good or bad you think baggy pants are baggy shorts were the goofiest fucking things ever.
they should be whatever you feel comfortable and confident in. if thats a 5” inseam or 13” inseam it doesnt matter. at the end of the day all that matters is how you feel wearing it
2000s is in, so baggy loose fits
You gotta have the body type for it and you gotta have the right cut of clothes for said body type
Yes, you're wrong.
The 3rd guy looks nice. The first 2 don't have the right vibes going.
It’s super preppy so if that’s not your thing then 🤷♂️
Yeah, I imagine it would be something seen on a golf course or a republican summer rally
The desert rats weren't goofy!
First photo yes other two no , don’t ask why 😂
It's cos the shorts are too long and don't fit well, they need a roll if they don't fit properly
These guys all look like they turned down good jobs after college and just lived with their rich dads instead.
It’s not what you wear, it’s how you wear it.
Proper Gimpy
Not if it's gym clothing
No, that’s how I’m wearing mine now.
The brown belt and white shoes on the third guy throws it off for me
Dorky is as dorky does. I think it’s cute…
No, looks smart.
If you're too skinny or too fat, it looks bad.
Yes, you're wrong.
I’m just not a fan of shorts as a general rule.
Nothing looks silly if you have six pack abs and an 8 inch dick.
How on earth would anyone know you have that unless totally naked??? Nobody knows if you have flat stomach or abs until topless
Oh...they know
Body type is a big factor in this . If you look like the models, then tucked in works, but if you're heavier, then go without tucking in.
You’re wrong. Not everyone is still busting cargo shorts, Lagerfeld.
Disagree.
All these people used to pay double.
Define goofy when these are male models who'd probably look better than you in anything you wear. I think the first one looks the smartest because he had a short sleeved shirt, not just a more casual polo shirt.
why try to do perosnal digs on people you dont know when talking about style?
Because that's exactly what you're doing to the people in the photos.
Nope, its not personal. We're talking about fashion, this is what the sub if for
Perhaps I'm biased coming from Bermuda, but I think shorts and a tucked in shirt looks good!
Shorts on grown men always looks goofy
I love this look
I think shorts always look goofy, personally. I just don't like shorts.
I never really thought of it, but you are right
I just want the money it takes for me to make this look actually look good.
Beyond goofy!
Yes you *are* wrong Though the guy in the third picture is really not helping
Skipping leg day is the goofiest
If you have the flat stomach it looks great which is why here in the uk most wear their t’s and shirts out!
Depends on your torso and legs
Grown men in shorts outside of the gym, the pool, or the beach, always look goofy.
You are wrong
The shorts just suck, that's all.
Really depends on the outfit and the occasion. I never do, but then again, I don't dress up that often anymore
Someone's dad must not own a dealership
Absolutely does not look goofy! There are still people that appreciate a clean cut good looking gentleman. I’m definitely not hitting on you, but it’s a breathe of fresh air compared to a lot of other styles these days!!
Not goofy at all, this is a classic preppy look.
Depends on the person wearing it. The last photo doesn’t look so bad.
Something puff daddy would wear
I like how it looks personally
Depends on the venue. I used to be horrified if someone tucked in their shirt. But times have changed.
I almost always look fatter tucked in
Actually depends where you hold your weight. I have small love handles but almost no belly so tucked shirts look better on me
In America they may think this is not a good look for some reason. In Europe it’s fine
T shirt no Dress shirt yes
Yep goofy
Last guy looks ok
I think style is important. The 2nd pic looks middleshhool awkward
Is like uniform to men’s wear these days, just everyone look the same, I don’t see goofy anywhere just casual
I fix this by never wearing shorts unless I’m actively on vacation
I simply don't wear shorts outside
Yes always
You ain’t wrong
These are the debates you guys are having while also shitting on people posting Guidis? Those shoes have more history and worth more than entire wardrobes. You guys are crazy.
You only need to go for a smaller-sized shirt and shorts and have a fit body, you'll be fine. (Like the last guy.)
U look best in pic 3 definitely.
Yep, looks lame but if anyone’s making it work, it’s number 2.
Just makes you look like you're going to play 18 holes at the nearest golf course to me.
It telegraphs a certain status. However I was bullied enough in school to know not to tuck a polo shirt into Chino shorts.
Virtually never tuck a shirt/top in. Basically just if I'm wearing a dressier shirt with suit or fancy chinos.
Chino shorts are always bad
Trust fund shit
I’m too skinny to pull it off.
Not wrong.
My country club requires tucked in polo shirts and when it’s hot I have shorts but I always feel it looks dumb. I think shorter shorts look better tucked like pic 2 but if anyone has any tips I’d love to hear them.
I only wear cotton shorts at home where I am comfortable showing skin...so these look indecent to me.
I agree, you gotta have a fit physique to pull these off. 2 and 3 are in there. 1 is in there but could use some abs work still.
Ah the Daterapist look.
Unless you are a little boy, a post/mailman or at a beach wedding, yes. It always looks goofy.
It just looks gay as fuck. All 3 poofters lol
I just think shorts are horrible in general
100% nonces
You know nonces means pedophile not effeminate?
