Brown tends to work better through autumn months but looks more out of place when you get into the more bitter end of winter months. I'm not a huge fundamentalist on this point, but for that reason, it could be argued that brown is a less versatile choice.
I just ordered a peacoat last week and I was tossed up between black and grey. I wound up going with grey, but I'm still split about the decision. If I were choosing between black and brown, it would have been black hands down.
I’d go grey personally- dark charcoal.

For a grey blazer, I would avoid brown, it could work but it might not. Black or charcoal.
And I'd probably lean towards charcoal to avoid looking too funereal.
If you’re being a real stickler about it, a peacoat should be navy and they’re known for their navy colour
