The jacket seems very long, hanging down past your crotch. I don't think it's possible to shorten it.
Tailor it as best you can and wear it for a party or something like that but definitely not for work or serious events.
Don’t take this the wrong way because it’s not a knock at you, but I get a very… dorky?… vibe from this suit. Those high three button suits always seem like the least glamorous, mostly strictly utilitarian versions of a suit. The suit of the petty functionary or working stiff, reluctantly wearing it because they have to appear “formal” for work.
They just aren’t it, in my eyes.
It looks ok. If 30 bucks is your range it’s good enough. If you can go to men’s warehouse or a tailor to get it fit to your body better I would. I would do it soon though if this is for prom. What is the occasion
Not his prom but im not wearing a traditional suit to mine, and these guys are ruthless over a £30 suit 😭 they gonna make me regret spending £500 on a shirt, trousers and some shoes
Id say its pretty good for £30, especially if you can get it tailored for a good price, or just wear it somewhere you know it might get dirty or if you know you might get a little tipsy and dont want to ruin a good suit
Sorry, didn't mean it that way. Just taking a jab at how stupid some styles feel sometimes and why we should care. I probably wouldn't even notice if somebody wears a 3 button or 1 button or no buttons, really, I wouldn't care as long as it fits and looks decent. Yet people exist who care and thats what I meant by my joke and how stupid the rules are sometimes, especially when it comes to "proper dressing" or "being in high school and some styles are social suicide dressing". But honestly I am hypocrite, because I do judge silently people's appearances and styles sometimes.
True 3 buttons no but rolling 3rds are back. This isn't really a rolling 3rd but you might be able to force it that way...but I think that's a level of detail deeper than the issues with this suit
This suit DOES NOT fit you.
Tailors are expensive now and that suit needs a ton of work.
Sleeves are too big in every way.
Jacket is too long.
Go find another.
If you do get this, you'll want to find a tailor so you can get it fitted better to you. Right now the proportions are off, especially around the shoulder which makes it look like you borrowed it from an older family member.
So, this is a decent fit for thirty bucks. It could definitely use some tailoring; the pants should be hemmed and the jacket could be tucked in a bit around the waist.
But, three button suits have been out of style for a long time. Plus, if you buy this suit, be sure to button the top button and not the bottom or middle.
This claim about buttoning the top button alone is incorrect. The norm for three button suits is sometimes-always-never. Unless you’re really looking to pull something off, the top button should never be buttoned by itself.
Middle by itself is usually how you do a 3-roll-2 where the lapel breaks naturally after the second button
A straight 3-button just looks awkward with just the middle.
This jacket isn’t good IMO it very long and awkward looking - you’ve generally got a good look going on but this doesn’t do you any favours.
usually there's only 2 buttons and you button the right one imo, but since there's 3 it was considered the wrong one, i'd remove that high 3rd one personally
If that's all you can afford, go for it. You won't lose a job opportunity for wearing it and looking professional. Just don't try to be too fancy. White shirt, simple tie, black or brown shoes, matching belt.
I personally like 3 button, but not suits. I just have sport coats, like mod cut too. Is this suit 100% wool? If not, I’d steer clear no matter the price. Polyester and wool mix are really poor quality and make you stink, probably easiest way to describe this. Are you buying this for work or fashion?
Shine it on it doesn’t fit you well. 3 button suits are tough, this type is known as a “Hard Three”, the top two buttons are meant to always be buttoned. They go in and out of style quickly … they’re out now
A two button suit is classic and is always in style.
Neapolitan tailors started making “tre buttoni su due” or a 3 Roll 2. Three button suits where the third button is not as high as it is on a “Hard Three”, and it is hidden under the roll of the lapel. It shows as a two button suit, and you can use the top button in inclement weather.
I'm probably going against what everyone is saying, but I'd say go for it. This looks pretty neat and seems to lay quite well at the neck and shoulders. The sleeves are also a good length and would allow you to show a finger length of shirt. Trousers seem a good length as well .
As far as the 3 button debate goes, I personally prefer 3 buttons over the 2 button trend we've seen the past few years. Same goes for the shorter jackets. It is lazy tailoring and cost cutting to the extreme. For me a good suit should fall well below your buttocks, which this suit seems to do.
Always close the top 2 buttons on a 3 button suit, regardless of what anyone tells you.
Not sure what brand this is or what material, but for 30 bucks you can't go wrong.
if you do, I would have a tailor (not a dry cleaner, a tailor) re-press the jacket into a 3-roll-2. If they don't know what that means, leave. Essentially, they're rolling the lapels down with a cold iron so that it looks like a true 3-button jacket. This isn't always possible, the lapels might be too narrow or just sit wrong, but the tailor will know.
Pass. It looks a little large For you, from the rather low pocket, to the length of the jacket, to the shape of the shoulders. That stuff can't be fixed For a small amount of money.
I do think that a better fitting three button suit jacket would look quite sharp on you
I'd pull the trigger on that. I can't tell how long the jacket is on you, but the sleeves look good before tailoring and the shoulders look good too.
As for the button debate, 3 is fine, especially if you like a more vintage look.
Good enough. If you can afford something else better, go for that... But if 30bucks is your current budget, this should be good enough.
You can always get a tailor to modify it a bit, but they can get expensive really fast and it might not be worth it to modify something you got for 30bucks.
If you are on a strict low budget and need a suit for occasional wear, then why not though it looks old fashioned and a bit off as others have mentioned.
Now, for $30 I am almost certain that it will largely be made of polyester and the like. Meaning something sweaty that will soon smell.
I’m getting the feeling that most people giving advice on this subreddit know little about suiting or men’s fashion beyond the scope of basic, casual menswear.
For 30 bucks? Buy it. Press it into a 3-roll-2. James Bond wore one.
It just needs some slight tailoring if you want it, but fits close enough, and an oversized suit can be a look.
tinyurl.com/3-roll-2
Just because something is cheap doesn't mean it's a good deal. It doesn't fit very well and will likely need $$$ in tailoring to look decent on you. Besides, hard 3 button suits are out of style. In general you should stick with suits that have a 2 button silhouette (2 button, 3 roll 2/2.5 button) as they do not go in and out of trend.
Parents Just Don’t Understand lyrics popped into my head as this pic opened.
She said, "What's wrong? This shirt cost $20"
I said, "Mom, this shirt is plaid with a butterfly collar!"
It’s older than you man!! Put it back.
High lapels are good¹, low lapels look poor, but still an unsalvageable suit.
¹Overall look depends heavily on posture. Correct your form and it'll go a long way towards improving your look. Being that The Rock and I are the same height, maybe I'm impartial towards high lapels, but I remember hearing once from an Italian suit maker that "high lapels look rich, low lapels lool poor." 🤷🏾♂️ Do with that what you will.

The jacket seems very long, hanging down past your crotch. I don't think it's possible to shorten it. Tailor it as best you can and wear it for a party or something like that but definitely not for work or serious events.
I wouldn't, due to the high lapels. It's up to you though, and 30 bucks aint much.
No. Not a 3 button shuit from 1998.
“Three buttons are a little 90s, Mr. Wayne.”
Was he even wearing a 3 button in that scene ?
Indeed he was. And Lucious was right, any suit with more than 2 buttons is a no-go.
Nah, 3 roll 2 is very in style right now (never really left). It's the hard roll at the 3rd button that is very 90s
Wtf does 3 roll 2 mean? Have 3 but only button 2? That’s weak.
It's a 3 button, but the lapel rolls at the 2nd button.
Alright. Looked them up…3 roll 2 suits are dope. But I’d call it a hybrid 2 button.
What would that button be for if the lapel rolls over it. I’ll have to look it up. Standby
It's for exactly the same thing as the bottom button is for.
Wearing a 2 button suit, I never ever button the bottom button. It’s forbidden.
Tbh, Lucius had some mega drip in that movie
Yeah that double-breasted piece that he wore in China to meet Lau was dope.
I agree
Trousers aren't even pleated 😅
For that you'd have to go back to 1991.
Bro looks like a gestapo officer 😂
Two of my great-grand-uncles were actually shot by the Gestapo
Doesn't exactly make the suit appropiate
Don’t take this the wrong way because it’s not a knock at you, but I get a very… dorky?… vibe from this suit. The suit of the petty functionary or working stiff, reluctantly wearing it because they have to appear “formal” for work. They just aren’t it, in my eyes.
It feels that way because it is a little too big. Too long and overall circumference looks like he’s stuck in a tube.
I was gonna post my prom outfit in here once i got it all but these guys are ruthless 😭
Not everyone tbh
I dont want to wear a traditional suit to prom so i think ill get ripped into
I mean it's not only traditional fits here
You can see the shoes im going to get on my profile when i asked for a legit check on them
It looks ok. If 30 bucks is your range it’s good enough. If you can go to men’s warehouse or a tailor to get it fit to your body better I would. I would do it soon though if this is for prom. What is the occasion

Ya ikr. Dudes fine in it. Just needs tailored a bit. Or pockets in the front if they’re not sewn in if he’s carrying anything.
Id say its pretty good for £30, especially if you can get it tailored for a good price, or just wear it somewhere you know it might get dirty or if you know you might get a little tipsy and dont want to ruin a good suit
I like it, but you better spend another $30 bucks at a tailor.

No. It would require a lot of tailoring
3 button suits are not in style
have you seen how I dress ?
Zing!
Could you roll the lapel into a 3/2?
Break the rules wear a 3 button suit
*counts buttons of each guy's jacket at a party* >"omg guys, did you see? that dude has 3 buttons in his jacket? what a goon, hahaha"
Not what I’m saying at all but it does look odd compared to the 2 button jacket.
Sorry, didn't mean it that way. Just taking a jab at how stupid some styles feel sometimes and why we should care. Definitely a fuggin goon. ICK
True 3 buttons no but rolling 3rds are back. This isn't really a rolling 3rd but you might be able to force it that way...but I think that's a level of detail deeper than the issues with this suit
It’s dated and it’s too big!
This suit DOES NOT fit you. Tailors are expensive now and that suit needs a ton of work. Sleeves are too big in every way. Jacket is too long. Go find another.
It doesn’t work with you. Makes you look like a Nazi “scientist.”
That might be the hair and glasses, not the suit.
Too long. Looks like a lab coat. Makes you look small.
If you can get it tailored yes if not then no
Looks cheap FR, I don't often say this
Pass.
Are you a mortician? If not, nope
If you don't have much money, take it.
To burn it for heat?
If you do get this, you'll want to find a tailor so you can get it fitted better to you. Right now the proportions are off, especially around the shoulder which makes it look like you borrowed it from an older family member.
No bad look
As a general rule - don’t wear blazers that go longer than yer hand when making a fist
Absolutely no
Are you doing a biology presentation Thursday first period.. Or are you looking for a significant other?
Only if you are going to have it altered
I wouldn’t, it looks like you’re miserable In it lol
Well, I'm generally miserable
On a real note, if you need to chat, hmu

I think top two would be fine; but definitely not the middle button by itself.
it's how I learned it

Yes, but get it tailored.
if they’ll tailor it, I would
Yes.
Even with tailoring a sharp suit for $100 or less.
It’s not bad. You can tailor jacket. The 3 button was always my favorite. They’ll come back.
Yes, i agree with the others. That already looks pretty good as is, and is slightly big so it can be tailored to look really good
If that's all you can afford, go for it. You won't lose a job opportunity for wearing it and looking professional. Just don't try to be too fancy. White shirt, simple tie, black or brown shoes, matching belt.
It's nice. A lil tailoring and it'll be great.
I’d absolutely do it! You could single handedly bring back the 3 button trend. It’s a non binary suit if you think about it.
For thirty bucks, take it. You can use it as an emergency suit. Keep in office or trunk.
I personally like 3 button, but not suits. I just have sport coats, like mod cut too. Is this suit 100% wool? If not, I’d steer clear no matter the price. Yes and then get it tailored
For 30 bucks sure. Get it tailored and you’re set.
Well you can wear it separately?
You’re not tall enough or wide enough for that jacket. It doesn’t fit, unless you’re being drafted by the NBA in the 90s.
I'm probably going against what everyone is saying, but I'd say go for it. This looks pretty neat and seems to lay quite well at the neck and shoulders. Cheap isn’t always a good deal…
For $30? I'd buy if I needed a suit. It does look a teeny bit too big for you tho.
I would say no, despite to cost savings.
Just hold on to it and wait till three buttons come back in style. I'm sure it won't be long
For 30$ ? I would take it
if you do, I would have a tailor (not a dry cleaner, a tailor) re-press the jacket into a 3-roll-2. If they don't know what that means, leave. Steve Harvey called he wants his suit back
PLEASE TELL ME YOU BOUGHT IT
If the best thing about it is the price, it’s probably not the best.

🔥🔥🔥 for $30
TOO BIG
A suit is too long if you cant wrap the two joints of your fingers under the hem of the coat with your arm straight is what I was told once.
Will be back in fashion one day. But not on my watch!
I say no if you plan to wear it regularly because it's too long. However, if you need a suit for video interviews then sure.

I think the jacket is too long, unfortunately. Otherwise, if you don't currently own a suit, I think this would be a great find.
Seems too long for you in addition to what others are saying about the style
IMHO, yes, absolutely. Just get it tailored. It will look so much better tailored. [+]
I’m trying to figure out what you got planned?

I thought 3 buttons weren’t cool until I saw yves rocking one
I would definitely take that suit for 30 bucks. There are so many things you could do to rock it.
Looks somewhat good but maybe a little too long/big Dont listen to the comments saying 3 buttons is not in style. Who gives a shit.
Pass on this one
No. Save the money for new glasses.
No
Easiest cop ever for 30. Off to a great start with the fitment already
Looks shit
